The wedding party team did a great job to accommodate all our concerns. The food and venue at Carinthia are outstanding as well as the epic views from the top of the mountain. 3 months later and people are still talking about it.
We just a wonderful experience having our ceremony and reception both at the brand new Carinthia Base Lodge. The team at Mount Snow was easy to work with and the vendors we used were fabulous. They recommended Beurremont Bakery who created a fabulous dessert bar and we also found a fabulous florist in East Dorset, Vermont who did an incredible job, Anna Blooms. I can’t recommend either of those vendors enough. Everything about our wedding day went smoothly. We were able to get into the venue when we needed to and we did our first look at the top of the mountain and we had someone from the event team assist us with this. The whole night was perfect and stress free and because of this we were able to enjoy our wedding day!
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful venue and our special day was wonderful.
However, the events team there doesn’t have their act together. Things were changed in between us signing our contract and the actual planning time. The events team will NOT help set up flowers and decor.
And then, a gift for a vendor that they were asked to hold onto was LOST.
Our wedding cake was thrown away! And when our reception ended, the staff was just shoving our decor into boxes, and throwing some items away without asking. So I as the bride was cleaning up a great deal to make sure special things were not thrown away.
We also came to find out that house cleaning had left the door to my bridal suite propped open for nearly the entire day with my things inside.
I unfortunately cannot recommend this venue to anyone because of these reasons.
We chose to get married at Mount Snow because that is where my husband and I met. Our wedding was on June 28, 2019. We were so pleased with the team of staff that helped us with our wedding. The social sales manager Anna was extremely helpful with managing our room block as well as helping us understand the overall cost of everything. We cannot say enough wonderful things about our wedding coordinator JoAnn! In addition to being kind and caring, she is extremely knowledgeable in how to run a wedding and her experience made the whole planning process simple. From the second we arrived on our wedding weekend, JoAnn made us both feel 100% at ease. JoAnn and her colleague Crystal, keep our wedding timeline on track and were there to answer any of our questions and even periodically checked in on both of us to see if we needed anything. Last, but not least our banquet manager Jason executed an amazing cocktail hour and reception for us. Everyone raved about how delicious the food was and how attentive the waitstaff was. We especially loved how JoAnn and Jason made sure we both had food and drink during our post ceremony photos and throughout the reception. If you are looking for a true “all inclusive” wedding weekend experience, then Mount Snow is the venue for you! Our guests loved being able to spend the weekend at the pool, golfing, riding the lift to the summit, and hiking.
I have nothing but amazing things to say about our wedding at Mount Snow! Shannon, Crystal, Jason and the rest of the staff were great to work with. They responded promptly to all questions and concerns throughout the planning process, and were even more supportive during our wedding weekend! In a weekend full of downpours, we were able to have our first look pictures on the summit and our ceremony outside during the 2 hours of sun, and I couldn't have been happier! Crystal and staff did everything possible to make it work, knowing that my summit pictures were so important to me! Our guests are still talking about how much fun our wedding weekend was and how they can't wait to return to Mount Snow for a getaway! I would recommend Mount Snow to anyone looking for a stress-free experience and BEAUTIFUL venue for their wedding!
We worked with mainly Crystal planing our wedding from 12 hours away, and she made the process so easy! The venue was perfect, and the staff captured our vision perfectly. The day of the wedding was stress free, I don't even know if there was any issues because Crystal handled everything. Jason was our maitre d' and he was also amazing, even tying my shoe for me when I couldn't bend down in my wedding dress. The food was also perfect. Our guests raved about the wedding, I highly highly recommend Mount Snow!!
My Husband and I were married at Mount Snow on the Friday of Oktoberfest weekend. It was the most beautiful day from start to finish. JoAnn was absolutely amazing to work with from the very beginning. She was prompt to answer my many wedding related questions, gave suggestions whenever needed and help to guide me through the wedding planning process. I truly appreciated her efforts as I know that the entire process would not have gone as smoothly without her.
Mount Snow was able to cater to all of my requests from particular head table arrangements, outdoor and indoor decor, and passing of drinks to guests as they approached cocktail in order to alleviate the bar line.
I highly recommend couples doing a first look at the summit. Riding the bluebird chair to the top of the mountain on your wedding day is an experience in itself.
Mount Snow was very fairly priced for what we received on our wedding day. We did not have any unsettling surpises and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. We had the time of our lives and want to thank JoAnn, Jason, and the Mount Snow team for helping to coordinate and execute the wedding of our dreams. Oktoberfest the next day was icing on the cupcake.
Where to begin..... Our special day was thrown a severe curve ball 4 months before the date, and we needed to quickly secure a new venue. Mount Snow stepped up and completely floored us with their level of support and service. JoAnn, Shannon, & Jason treated us with white glove care from start to finish. It rained on our day, and the team had a Plan B (& C) lined up. Without missing a beat, they were able to give us an incredible event. I could write a novel about all the concerns, questions, requests that I threw at them, and every last one was addressed. Seriously, the event team at Mt Snow is incredible. End your search here and lock the your date in. You will not regret it.
My husband and I got married at the Mt. Snow Grand Summit Resort in August. We had the most wonderful weekend! JoAnn was our wedding coordinator throughout the whole process and Jason was our banquet manager. Both of them really did everything humanly possible to make sure we had the perfect weekend. The weather was looking like it might rain that morning but when JoAnn realized there was a chance we could get on the chairlift and take all of our first look pictures at the top of the mountain, we took the opportunity and ran with it. We had the ceremony and cocktail hour outside and couldn't have been happier with the flow of everything. All of our guests have been raving about how fun, beautiful, and picturesque the whole weekend was. The food was delicious and Jason and his staff were so accommodating. Besides the year of intense planning, my husband and I would do our wedding weekend over again 20 more times at Mt. Snow!! Definitely recommend this gorgeous venue!
The staff at Mount Snow was very friendly and accommodating. They provided a nice planning experience. Crystal was our coordinator, she was very pleasant and well organized. There could have had better communication the day of and our room was not ready until an hour and a half before our wedding.
What a great experience working with Mount Snow! We used the Grand Summit as the primary hotel for our wedding guests (Aug 2017) and Shannon was extremely organized and responsive. Our guests had a great experience, thank you again Mount Snow!
Our wedding on 9/29/2017 at Mount Snow was better than I ever could have imagined! The venue was absolutely perfect...we did a first look at the summit, our ceremony was in the garden, and our reception in the ballroom. The fall scenery and just the awesome backdrop of Mt Snow was just perfect...and I can't say enough good things about the Mt Snow staff who made our wedding exactly as we envisioned and made sure everything went without a hitch! Everything started with Shannon who was just amazing to work with when we started our planning. She made it so easy to plan the wedding and their cost estimate sheet she provided made it extremely simple to understand the total costs including the tips and taxes we needed to plan for. This was really useful when we were deciding on food and number of people to invite. She handled every one of my questions early in the process, and even handled some of my family requests for hotel rooms which I know was probably not easy!! Then came JoAnn, our actual wedding coordinator, and she was the best! She gave me a clear checklist to fill out and once we laid out the timeline, she made sure all day we stuck to it, I didn't have to worry about anything. She always made sure to ask me what I wanted, even when I had my mom and sisters trying to give her guidance, she had my back!! Crystal was also great, assisting JoAnn on our wedding day...I greatly appreciated her keeping tabs on the groomsmen when they decided to go up the lift and keeping everyone on-time!! I also have to rave about Jason, the facilities coordinator there, he was just fantastic!!! He was always near by, making sure food was great and the ballroom was set up exactly as we needed it...I even loved when he hopped into the photobooth with us at the end of the night! We just felt so welcome by the Mt Snow staff and that each of them personally cared about us and our special day! Just walking around the resort, anytime we saw the staff, they always said hi and checked in with us to ask if we needed anything. They just made our day amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue and staff. Thanks Mount Snow!!!!!
My husband and I were married at Mount Snow on 10/14/17. Everything, from our initial conversation with Shannon Wheeler a year and a half ago until the moment the last guest checked out the following morning, exceeded our expectations. From the beginning, Shannon, the banquet coordinator Jason, and each and every person we had contact with were outstanding to work with. Despite having some unexpected changes in the couple months leading up to the wedding, Shannon and the staff always offered the comforting reassurance that everything would go according to plan, and every minor detail would be taken care of. And it was. The lawn where the ceremony was held was in perfect condition (and the foliage on the Mountain was spectacular), the reception room was decorated just as we envisioned (despite my hesitancy to leave that all up to someone else lol), and our guests raved about the food during the cocktail hour and the reception. Shannon, Jason, and the entire staff were on top of everything from beginning to end, and really put us at ease. Shannon was even able to bustle my dress without practicing it or looking at my dress beforehand. She was able to anticipate and take care of things that we didn't even know would come up. My husband and I wholeheartedly recommend Mt. Snow to any couples considering getting married in Vermont.
My husband and I just recently hosted our wedding weekend at the Mount Snow Resort on 9/30/17 and the best way to describe our experience is WOW. From when we started planning last September until we said our goodbyes that Sunday as man and wife, was through and through an amazing experience!
Shannon Wheeler was the first friendly face we met to answer all of our wedding questions and she ultimately sold us on the venue. She was warm, down to earth, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating. She was our point of contact for the rest of the year leading up to our wedding date and I have to give her so much credit for her speedy responses, patience with all of our silly questions, her organizational skills and even her decorating skills the day of the wedding!
We did our dinner tasting in February of this year with the banquet manager, Jason, and we have to commend him on his excellent customer service and professionalism while at the same time still "keeping it real". He made a point to sit down with us, present each dish and ask for our feedback, as we tried them. Jason and Shannon were both present at our rehearsal dinner, which we hosted on site at the 1900 Burger. Together they became a power team, offering drinks, organizing and helping in anyway they could which took some of the pressure off of us!
Mount snow offered a wedding block rate for our overnight guests to receive a discount on room reservations. All of our guests were very pleased with their accommodations and couldn't stop raving about how incredibly nice every single staff member was.
While it may have rained the morning of our wedding day, it showed signs of stopping and Shannon gave us the option (a few hours in advance) to brave the cold and have the ceremony outside like we had envisioned. They promptly wiped down the chairs and started getting the ceremonial lawn ready for us.
The reception was held in the Somerset Ballroom in the resort and it was perfection! From the hors d'oeuvres, to the caesar salad, right down to the spinach and prosciutto stuffed chicken and miso glazed salmon - we couldn't have asked for a better foodie experience! Also, Grandma said she could have eaten the passed maple bacon wrapped scallops for dinner if she had the option, so those are a MUST try hors d'oeuvre!
The cards/gifts and valuable items from the ballroom were hand delivered to our suite at the end of the night just before the last remaining guests and ourselves moved into the Harriman's Restaurant for a night cap. The restaurant is conveniently located by the main elevators to the guest rooms, which was extremely nice to not have to go far or have anyone driving home at the end of the night!
We cannot think of one thing Mount Snow could have done or changed to make our wedding weekend any more extraordinary. Again we'd like to give special thanks and recognition to the "power team" Shannon and Jason, as well as every member of the Mount Snow staff for their hospitality and making us feel at home for the weekend! Matt and I couldn't have tied the Knot without you!
Our wedding was Perfect! We have a lot of Thanks to the team at Grand Summit Resort at Mount Snow, they are amazing!!!! JoAnn was our coordinator and was available to answer any questions, provided suggestions and was there the entire weddding weekend to assist us and our guests. Another great option that Mount Snow offers is a hotel for all the guests. We had a small wedding ( about 40 guests) and all of our guests stayed at the hotel making our wedding more special. Thank You Mount Snow Resort Team for taking care of us and making our Big Day so special!
Our recent wedding at Mt. Snow was literally a dream come true. And I say this as someone who rarely writes reviews. But I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to say how happy my husband and I are with our wedding...from connecting with Shannon on day one to the very last song at our reception! Shannon is wonderful, patient and great with quickly responding to all questions! I cannot recommend Mt. Snow enough as a wedding destination!!!
Mount Snow exceeded my expectations and provide myself ,my husband, my family and friends with the most amazing wedding day. From day one Shannon helped with every step of the process from budgeting to room reservations and more. Joann was our wedding coordinator and she made the day go as perfect as it ever could have gone. Jason from the food and beverage made all of our food wished come true and I still have people talking about it 3 weeks later. Mount Snow was an amazing place to be married as the flow of event spaces worked perfectly and was picture perfect, no pun intended for our photographer. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants there day to be flawless and beautiful !!!
There are no words adequate enough to describe how wonderful the staff at Mount Snow are at planning a wedding! My husband and I were married there in June 2017 and we truly had the weekend wedding celebration of our dreams! From the outset, Shannon was fantastic in her level of organization, responsiveness, and care. She presented us with a clear framework for planning the costs of our wedding weekend, which allowed us to escape any hidden costs that are often associated with weddings. Our wedding coordinator Janelle was absolutely wonderful! She helped us plan every detail of our Friday Welcome Party at the SnowBarn, the big day on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. Her expertise in event planning is matched by the kindness and consideration that she showed us throughout the entire process; especially on our wedding weekend! Additionally, we are indebted to the amazing staff at Mount Snow (Jason, JoAnn, etc) who worked so hard to serve us up an incredible wedding weekend. We give Mount Snow our highest recommendation as a place to host your wedding, knowing that you'll be in great hands and your guests will enjoy fantastic accommodations and such a fun weekend in the mountains!
Mount Snow is a beautiful and affordable wedding venue for all brides. My husband and I got married on 5/21/17 and we basically had the whole resort to ourselves. The available rooms at the resort accommodate all guests (large groups and small groups) and there is a great discount. We got married at a church and thus did not use the ceremony site, however, we did do all of our pictures there. The only huge complaint is that there were A LOT of bugs. I imagine this is because it had just rained recently, but unfortunately bug spray was a must. Even with the bugs, however, this is a great site to take pictures because the guests at cocktail hour can watch you take the photos. I heard from multiple guests that this is a huge plus because at most venues, couples are gone for 1-2 hours after the ceremony, but taking pictures near the ceremony site allowed guests to still enjoy the bride and groom from afar. The ballroom itself is pretty and has a porch that is great for when you need fresh air. The staff is very helpful and food wonderful. We loved our tasting! I would definitely recommend this venue if you want an intimate and beautiful wedding. It was everything we hoped for! Thanks Mount Snow!
It’s my pleasure to give a glowing review to the Grand Summit Mt Snow Resort.
I’m originally from VT but my husband and I now live in Los Angeles. It was a challenge to find a venue from the other side of the country and literally took years, until a friend said I should go check out Mt Snow while I was home for Xmas in Dec 2015.
I was happily surprised by the prices at Mt Snow! This had been the most inexpensive venue we had seen so far and it had everything that we wanted.
Needless to say, we went forward with Mt Snow. Our day went smoothly and all planning was effortless and efficient, even from LA.
ONE complaint about the bridal suite was that there was no full length mirror. The front desk was unable to locate one and a friend of mine ended up going out and buying a mirror at Dollar Tree the day of for the bride and bridesmaids. I would add that if Mt Snow has a slightly more spacious, brighter suite for the women to use to get ready in, that would be better. We were in a lofted suite but it felt a little cramped, and I only had 4 bridesmaids and 2 stylists.
Our coordinator Janelle was a VIP. First of all, my sister made all the escort cards by hand and gave them back to me, and when I handed them to Janelle the day before the wedding, I realized that I hadn’t put them in ANY sort of order. Janelle just said “I got it!” and fixed it for me.
There was also a miscommunication with our florist where she was supposed to bring the necessary materials to hang the fabric for the arbor, and she forgot it. Janelle scrounged up whatever tools she could find the day of the wedding to hang the fabric herself.
The convenience of Mt Snow is that everything can happen in the same place, making it safe and accommodating for everyone. There are nice options for rain too, which is important for weird VT weather.
The food was great! I heard 0 complaints and I had multiple guests that had specific dietary needs.
I would highly encourage any bride to check out Mt Snow. It’s worth it! Thanks Shannon and Janelle for making our wedding perfect!
We had our wedding at Mount Snow on 10/7/16 and it was amazing! As many of our family and friends, including ourselves, were coming from out of state, we wanted everything to be convenient for our guests and Mount Snow made it so easy.
We had our rehearsal dinner at 1900 Burger in the main base building, catered by Reuben's Smokehouse. The food was excellent, and the staff were a huge help in accommodating some extra guests that we hadn't planned for, as well as helping my MIL set up a projector/screen for a slideshow she had prepared unbeknownst to us.
The day of the wedding, the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception, and after-party were all at the Grand Summit Resort. The spaces for all these events - the garden, patio, ballroom, and Harriman's - were spacious for our wedding of 100 guests. The staff at Mount Snow, with really little direction from me, took everything we brought - centerpieces, favors, pictures, table cards, escort cards, DIY photobooth and backdrop, signs, baskets, donuts, etc - and set them up beautifully. I was very impressed and couldn't have done it, or even imagined it, better myself. Everything went off without a hitch and our entire weekend was stress-free.
Finally, anyone that is having a wedding here needs to do a first look at the summit...this is A MUST! Our wedding was in peak leaf-peeping season and it was stunning. And our guests had a blast taking the scenic chairlift ride up the mountain! Special thanks to Shannon, Janelle, Jason, and Sasha for making our weekend so successful -- our guests are still raving about how much fun they had at our wedding!
We had our wedding at Mount Snow on 9/24/16 and it was better than we could have ever imagined it. The staff was great from the start, Shannon helped answered all of our questions from Day 1 and Janelle helped us continue planning through our farewell breakfast the morning after. All of our guests raved about how helpful the resort staff was during their stay. The food was amazing from cocktail hour, to the reception, after party, and breakfast. We wanted our guests to be able to relax and enjoy a full weekend with us, and the team at Mount Snow helped us do just that. I can't say enough about everyone here! We are looking forward to popping our heads in and saying hi during this upcoming ski season.
Our recent wedding at Mount Snow was everything we could have hoped for and more. The staff who helped us out including Shannon, Janelle (our day-of coordinator, who was awesome), Joann, Amanda, Jason, Wayne, Mick, and others were incredibly nice, responsive, receptive, and accommodating. Our ceremony was held on the back patio of Snow Lake Lodge, and the reception took place at Sundance Lodge. We were able to get in super early to set up lighting and decorations. The spaces were so beautiful and had such awesome Vermont charm! The food was good, and the whole experience was great. Thanks again to everyone at Mount Snow!
From start to finish, our wedding experience with Mt. Snow was seamless. We had the most amazing wedding weekend, much to thank to the staff and our coordinator at Mt. Snow. From the quick and timely responsiveness of the team to the level of accommodation, we truly could not have asked more! I cannot endorse more highly this venue for a wedding!
Mount Snow Resort gave me the wedding of my dreams! I had the best day ever and my guests just kept talking about how perfect everything was. The venue was gorgeous, the food was amazing, and all the staff was so great.
We had our wedding at Mount Snow on July 23, 2016. We are SO happy we chose Mount Snow to have our ceremony & reception. If you are looking for a place that can accommodate all your guests for the weekend, has gorgeous views, a place where you and your guests can park and not drive again until you go home, has awesome food and a very helpful staff, then Mount Snow is your place! We knew we wanted a place with great views for photos and a place that was within our budget, but we got so much more than that. Shannon was extremely responsive, professional, and helpful from the very beginning. JoAnn was also helpful and organized everything for us throughout the process and the day of so you don't have to worry about a thing. Jason made our tasting so much fun and the day of made sure everything was running smoothly and that we were kept happy. Everyone was professional and made sure the day was perfect. They really make you feel like family there with the free ski passes and free night away when you go for your tasting. We will forever feel like Mount Snow is OUR place and continue to visit all year round! Thank you Mount Snow for our amazing wedding!
Mount Snow was the perfect venue for our summer wedding. The staff was accommodating and the food was delicious. The outside garden was gorgeous. Our guests raved about the cocktail hour and just how beautiful the venue was. I would highly recommend this venue to all couples looking to get married in Vermont.
Mount Snow is an incredible venue and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a venue in Vermont!
When we first got engaged my husband and I knew we wanted to get married in the area and set up a few appointments with various venues. Given our love for skiing at Mount Snow it was our first stop, and after meeting with Shannon we immediately canceled all our other appointments. Not only are the grounds absolutely lovely from the wedding garden, to the ballroom, and to the summit of the mountain itself where you can opt to do a first look, but everything about the planning process is well thought out to be as stress-free and transparent as possible for the couple. There are no surprise costs as Shannon immediately provides inquiring couples with a cost estimate spreadsheet including taxes and gratuity that can be adjusted by guest count so you always know your budget.
Moreover, the entire team at Mount Snow is phenomenal. Our coordinator Janelle was very helpful and responsive in all the planning stages leading up to our wedding day, but we were most impressed on the day of when we had crazy weather (multiple locals told us it was the most humid and stormy weekend they had experienced in over 30 years) and Mount Snow still managed to pull off the day largely as we had planned. Despite bursts of rain, Janelle managed to get us to the top of the mountain right at the moment the weather cleared for a gorgeous first look, and even to pull off an outdoor ceremony timed so perfectly that the rain broke after everyone was already back inside for the reception. Maybe we got lucky, but the important thing was that Janelle as well as the intern Carrie and other members of the team did everything they could to take the stress out of the situation for the couple which is so important on the day. You can really tell the staff cares about delivering on the day, and are so good at what they do. If it’s in any way possible to make something happen, they will make sure that it does. We noticed other staff members stepping in on the day to help everything go smoothly and really appreciated how everyone worked together to make the day go so well!
And finally the food deserves a shout-out for sure – we received so many compliments from guests. The chef creates delicious and as local as possible dishes, while Jason the food and beverage director is a pleasure to work with. From beginning to end everyone at Mount Snow is so professional and kind, and the beauty of the mountain can’t be beat. If you’re thinking of a wedding in southern Vermont, do not hesitate to contact Mount Snow!
My husband and I were married on August 6. Mount Snow was great. The pictures came out beautiful. Everyone said the food was great. Shannon was extremely helpful and friendly.
There were a couple of reasons I didn't give it a five stars. 1. Mount Snow offered to let us use whatever décor they had in their closet which was great. We chose these beaded branches and glass vase that holds one flower, very simple. When I arrived the day before they asked me who was putting together the center pieces. I wish that had been communicated to prior to the day of that we would have to put together the center pieces. It was an easy thing to do but just unexpected.
The other reason I am not giving Mount Snow five stars is because of the First Look. We communicated up front we did not want to do first look at all, we wanted to wait until after the ceremony to do our pictures including the ones at the top of the mountain. We were told initially it would be tight timeline but it shouldn't be a problem. Then as the months went on we were pressured more and more to doing first look if we wanted the mountain pictures. Of course we wanted the mountain pictures, we were getting married at a ski resort! At the end we conceited. The pictures came out beautiful however.
Just attended a wedding here on Aug. 4th. I was the mother of one of the bridesmaids. The resort wedding planner was TERRIBLE, we had to tell her how to do her job. Also we had a problem with our flowers, the local florist they recommended made it much worse, but the day was saved by The Gift Garden in Bennington. They saved the day, I cannot say enough good things about this florist shop.
We had a room block with Mt. Snow for our wedding and held our next-day brunch in the Somerset Ballroom. Working with Shannon was an absolute pleasure. She was proactive, patient, professional, and reliable. Eager to help, Shannon responded right away to answer any questions that we had. She also sent regular updates on our room block, without us having to ask for an update. Our guests enjoyed staying at Mt. Snow and the brunch was delicious! It was the best hotel brunch I've been to in a long time. Mount Snow clearly knows how to run weddings--they made every aspect seamless. Thanks, Shannon!
We had a block of rooms reserved at The Grand Summit for our wedding at Cooper Hill. Shannon at Grand Summit was wonderful from the start to the beginning. She kept me updated on how many reservations were made and was very communicative about any/all details as we got closer to our wedding date. I would definitely recommend using Grand Summit!
r wedding was a dream come true and the day of felt like absolute perfection! Planning was stressful, as expected, but Shannon and JoAnn were very friendly and helpful, and the staff (Jason especially) was great during our tasting and planning stages. We have NO complaints about the wedding day. Everyone was friendly, fun and made sure to check in with us throughout the day and make sure all was going smoothly. The food was DELICIOUS and everything was beautiful.
Our only real issues came when our guests actually stayed at the resort. The grounds are gorgeous, but it seems there is always a little bit of construction going on. We had at least one family complain of being waken at 7am by construction. The rooms were expensive for guests, even with the wedding "discount" (the discounted price didn't warn people of resort fees and taxes) and many complained that they were spread out in the resort. The hallways are SO long and our guests were spread throughout three floors on all opposite ends. I think everyone (us included) expected the guest rooms to be blocked off together. Check-in was late (4pm) although they did try to accommodate early check-in times. The pool closed early at 9pm, and the jets didn't work in the hot-tubs for half the weekend, though they would fix them quickly. The pull-out beds were AWFUL. I slept on one a few nights before the wedding and we went to the front desk the next morning. You could feel the rods in your back and there was NO cushion. The front desk asked if we wanted a cot and I said yes...they then informed us that they were $20/night each. They ended up letting us use it for free since we complained that we were staying in a very expensive suite. There was also another wedding party that stayed at the resort during our wedding weekend. Their wedding was offsite, but they filled up the pool area and were quite loud during the weekend.
-Overall: PERFECT wedding reception venue but many complaints about the resort accommodations.
I truly don't even know where to begin! We took a chance on Mount Snow late in the wedding season and to be honest I didn't expect them to even have a date open but Shannon emailed me back so quickly letting me know it was the last weekend open in July! My new wife and I were beyond ecstatic! We were given JoAnn as our wedding coordinator and through everything she helped make our wedding day truly beautiful. We knew we wanted to set up on our own and make it perfect and JoAnn was there to oversee everything the whole time! I can't begin to tell you how many times I needed to change something or the fact that I emailed JoAnn atleast 1000 times with questions and concerns and she always gave me her undivided attention! Mount Snow is the most beautiful place that I could have ever hoped to marry the love of my life! If you're looking for stress free planning and the nicest people you will ever meet, Mount Snow is the place to go! We couldn't be happier with our experience!
Where do I even begin :) :) !?! Before my fiancé and I became engaged, we had taken many ski trips to Mount Snow. We absolutely love to ski at this mountain and everything about Mount Snow is simply amazing. When we got engaged, we had thought why not get married at Mount Snow!? It has so much symbolism for us and that's when I reached out to Shannon Wheeler. From the very start, Shannon has been nothing but AMAZING to us! She was very knowledgeable, fast to respond to emails/phone calls, and just a very down to earth and fun person. When we met Shannon, she showed us around the grounds and painted a vision for us as to where our ceremony, cocktail party, and reception would take place for our wedding (mind you, we met Shannon in January 2015 when it was snow covered and cold, and we got married in July 2016 and had no idea what the grounds would look like!). Shannon did such a great job at painting a picture for us. We trusted her fully! During the planning process, Shannon and JoAnn (our wedding coordinator) helped us with EVERYTHING! They provided us with so many wonderful recommendations for vendors (DJ, officiant, bakery, restaurant for our "Welcome Party", florist, salon for hair, makeup artists, etc.). We had no complaints with any of the recommendations Shannon and JoAnn provided us. They both made us feel stress free on our wedding day because they took care of everything for us. Everything went so perfectly for our wedding day.. we absolutely loved every minute of it! All of our vendors came through for us and made our wedding day so special! The staff at Mount Snow also made sure our wedding day was top notch. Jason and Jesse at Mount Snow were amazing to work with regarding food and beverages for our wedding. I can't express enough how pleased and ecstatic my husband and I are to have had our wedding at Mount Snow!! We couldn't have asked for a better venue or better people to work with! Thank you so much for making our dreams come true!!! It has truly been such a pleasure being able to work with you all :)
Even though we did not get married on site at Mount Snow, we chose them to host our out of town guests. It was a great choice! Shannon was a pleasure to work with, quick to respond to any questions and full of information. The variety of styles of rooms were able to accommodate all of our 15o traveling guests. My friends and family all enjoyed their stay, including time by the pool, our weekend was warm and sunny! Thanks to all of the staff at Mount Snow for contributing to our special day! I would highly reccommend using this vendor!
I don't even know where else to begin with Mount Snow Resort other than WOW. When we were initially talking about different locations for the wedding, VT was at the top of the list since we had fallen in love with it over several trips we had taken previous. After seeing gorgeous pictures and having great email conversations with Shannon, we made the trip up from MA to check it out. From the friendly staff to the beautiful landscaping, we knew the search for our wedding venue was over within the first five minutes. Shannon was genuinely interested in our story and what we envisioned our wedding day to be. We were given spread sheets so that we could play around with the numbers to see what the rough estimate would be. Both Shannon and Janelle, our wedding coordinator, answered all of our questions and responded to any concerns we had in a timely manner. We even decided to do a morning after brunch the week before and there were no issues doing so!
On the day of the wedding, Janelle popped in when she could to make sure we were doing okay. She handled the small details of the wedding with ease. If there were any complications/struggles, we sure did not see it. The food was to die for. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about the entire venue. We do not have enough words to describe how grateful and fortunate we are to have held our special day at Mount Snow Resort. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for making this process smooth. I don't think we could have asked for better!!!! We will definitely be back to visit!!
How can I even begin to describe the amazing wedding I had at Mount Snow! It all started with Shannon and JoAnn's undivided attention to me throughout the who process. They were simply wonderful and I felt like I didn't have to do anything the weekend of my wedding, they took care of everything and my wedding wouldn't have been perfect without them. The staff that worked with them were also amazing. Mount Snow is an incredible place full of friendly people and amazing views, that brings out the magic of togetherness for weddings. The gardens are beautiful, the resort is beyond beautiful, I couldn't have picked a more perfect place to marry my husband. I couldn't have had a more perfect day and that is all thanks to the staff at Mount snow. I would say everyone please give them a call and meet with Shannon! You may even see some of my photos in the books she shows you :-)
Words escape me. When my husband and I first decided that we needed to have a venue in Vermont, Mount Snow was our first choice to visit. First, and last. As soon as we arrived and looked at the incredible landscape, views and accommodations, there were no questions in either of our minds that this was our place. This was where we would become husband and wife. From the staff to the food, the outdoor gardens to the Somerset Grand Ballroom, it was as picturesque as we imagined. We were so blown away, and continue to be, at how willing the staff was the help with any planning and with the last minute tweaks that didn't go according to our original plan. They were professional, friendly, and truly incredible. I would recommend Mount Snow to anyone and everyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue. I wouldn't change a single thing about the way our day went. The ceremony location was absolutely stunning and several times our coordinator, Janelle, and the intern, Carrie, stopped into the bridal suite to see if there was anything they could do for us. And they delivered. In a few of my moments of panic, I knew I could look to them for reassurance and execution of the grand plan. I will forever be grateful for this experience and have a very special place in my heart now for everyone at Mount Snow who helped this day be as perfect as I had dreamed it would be. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. And for those of you who think you might be interested in using Mount Snow as your wedding venue, visit! Ask questions. It will be superb :)
Mount Snow was absolutely amazing, they helped me every step of the way and made it so easy! They had vendor lists made to make it easy to find people up in VT that could help me. Each time I went to visit them, they really made it special! The food was out of this world!! If I could do it all over again, I would do everything the same, expect spend more time up there!!! The staff, from the bar, kitchen, guest services, and more were so helpful. They would have done anything for my crazy family. I was very lucky to have had this experience!!!
Overall I was very happy with the hotel. We had a room block reserved for our guests and we did a morning after brunch through the catering department. The food was delicious and Janelle Hyatt in catering helped to pull the brunch off perfectly. They were even able to repurpose flowers from the wedding for the brunch. Shannon Wheeler in group sales was amazing. So easy to work with and kind. Both women were super prompt in their replies, even on the weekend and I certainly appreciated that. Guests definitely enjoyed the hotel and their rooms. I heard lots of good things about both. The fireplace is amazing.
There were a few things that I was not a huge fan of. I thought some of the people in the reservations department were not very helpful. A few separate guests had issues making reservations in the block and the guests were told that the bride must not have set the block up correctly. Many of the people in reception and valet were downright rude. I knew of several instances of this, even to me and to my mother. Also some guests were told the wrong time for the shuttle bus. We later realized there were two different weddings and that was just a mix-up. I believe it was all worth it in the end! Beautiful location, really nice hotel, mostly awesome people.
My husband and I were married on November 7, 2015- a few weeks ago and it was an amazing weekend. If you want your wedding to be about getting all of your family and friends together to celebrate, this is the place. We had a 300 person guest list so we needed a venue that could hold a lot of people. We had the entire hotel rented out and made the wedding into more of a weekend celebration. The majority of our guests came for both nights. We had a Welcome Party Friday night, the wedding and ceremony Saturday and a breakfast on Sunday. It was all at the resort so no one had to travel anywhere. Our guests loved it.
Mount Snow was also very accommodating. Planning from Boston, where we live, we could only make a handful of trips during the year. I was constantly emailing Shannon, the head coordinator, and JoAnn who worked out the specific details with me and who was with me during the weekend. They were both very responsive. I learned quickly the importance of customer service with wedding planning- it goes a long way to make your life easier while planning. The local vendors we used for our flowers and dessert all work often with Mount Snow so it just made everything easier. There is even a spa right at the hotel where I had my make up done.
And lastly - cost. Your dollar goes so much further at Mount Snow than any other venue we looked at. We would have easily doubled our spending if we had this large wedding in Boston. We were then able to spend our money on an amazing band and other things that made the weekend awesome.
What a wonderful experience getting married at Mt Snow! Shannon, Janelle, Chef Giorgio and the entire team are FANTASTIC to work with - incredibly responsive, helpful, professional, and best of all fun! Everything was beautiful and so easy - we did a few site visits and meetings with other vendors in the area and every time we went through (we don't live locally), we were sure to be greeted by someone on the team. The food was delicious, we actually took some boxes of leftovers and ate even more of it! We felt the value couldn't be beat - most places seem to be 'wedding factories' now, and at Mt Snow we were the only wedding of the day and felt like the entire resort was ours and our guests. They are so accommodating as well - if you just ask, all your dreams can come true. Everyone who came has commented on how beautiful it was, how friendly everyone was and what a great place it was overall. We highly recommend it!
Wow. Where do I begin?
We just had our wedding at Mt. Snow in Sept. 2015, and it was everything I could have imagined and more! From the very first day, Shannon was so patient and responsive to my 100000 questions. And unbelievably accommodating... We had a more unusual wedding - it was the full weekend, and we used every inch of the venue. Friday night was a BBQ and live band at Sundance Lodge, Saturday we did a group hike with about 150 people, up the chairlift and hiked down. Then we hosted a Cornhole Tournament and gave all our guests "boxed" lunches before the ceremony. Needless to say, it was so much fun!! I didn't want to leave to go get ready.
Prior to the weekend, we wanted to decorate the ballroom ourselves (with a LOT of decorations), and the Mt. Snow team let us in super early to set up, and even helped! We could even set up our own photo booth.
My husband grew up skiing at Mount Snow, so we knew it was going to be so much fun - but we had no idea how perfect the resort would be. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating to all our requests.
Janelle was our day-of coordinator, and she was fantastic too! Totally kept everything on time, running smoothly - and was calm, which helped all of our nerves. I spent the whole afternoon on Saturday with the group, so she was great in managing my time, so I had enough to get ready.
We also live in LA, so having Shannon and Janelle be so wonderful and thorough, just really helped the planning process.
Not to mention the resort itself if beautiful. They've recently been going through renovations, and it shows. The rooms were awesome, the venue super clean and put-together. The food was good too (locally grown, which we loved!).
All in all a magical weekend. Thanks Mount Snow - if only we could do it all again!
We absolutely loved everything Mt. Snow had to offer. Their professionalism and experience planning weddings helped us to have stress free planning for the event details and services. We have recommended Mt. Snow to all friends we know planning a wedding in the future. We talk about how special our day was all the time, especially our private view from the top with our awesome photographer Meaghan Fagley.
We had a wonderful wedding weekend at Mount Snow and were very happy we chose it as our wedding venue. The setting is beautiful- we were married outside and the grounds looked great (pretty flowers, stone patio) and the white chairs and white veranda were gorgeous against the green grass. Mt. Snow did a really nice job setting up all of the spaces and helped us decorate the reception area and tables. The food was very good and it appeared that everyone ate in a timely manner. The party continued in the tavern after the band stopped playing, which was a great way to end the night. In terms of communication, Shannon sent us frequent updates on bookings and was friendly and professional. Joann was our coordinator and she was helpful too, although I felt like she could have handled some situations more smoothly during the weekend. We only had a few critiques- one issue we had was that the chairlift was not running yet (we got married on June 20th) and we would have really liked to have provided our guests with the option of seeing the top. Another was that the magnetic key cards did not work well and we kept getting locked out of our room. I even got locked out when trying to go back to the room after the reception! But overall, we had a positive experience and can recommend it highly.
My husband and I got married in August and had the most perfect weekend. Shannon, JoAnn and staff were all so accommodating and helpful from the food tasting, rehearsal dinner to the day of the wedding.
The ballroom, garden and patio were decorated beautifully! If we had to do it over again, I would still choose Mount Snow. Everything surpassed our expectations and we can't wait to go back and visit again!
In planning a wedding, EVERYTHING takes so many steps and details, so when you come across a vendor that just makes it easy, it is worth a note to let others know!
We worked with Shannon Wheeler who not only handled our room block, but also helped us select the appropriate quantity and room sizes to meet the needs of our group. She also sent very regular updates on bookings (we never needed to ask), and was very proactive in looking for people to add to the list if they did not indicate the block name at booking.
At the wedding itself, all the guests raved about the rooms and the hotel itself.
Pros:
-Great location
-helpful staff all along the way
-rooms of all sizes and rates
Cons:
- I actually have none! Just don't be turned off by the "Murphy beds" while they sound quirky, people LOVED them. :)
My new husband and I have really come to love the people at Mount Snow!
Our wedding planning began with a snowy ski/planning visit in February. From the very beginning, we found everyone very easy to work with. Shannon Wheeler had spreadsheets and schedules to help us understand the financial breakdown and deadlines. There were no hidden costs, but nothing was written in stone, either. We were free to go off-book and design our own weekend, which ended up being absolutely perfect!
Joann Upper was a great help with the preparation and execution too. Beginning with the chef's tasting when we visited in June, she took notes and kept us on track through every decision that had to be made. She was also on site for the whole wedding weekend, from the welcome dinner, through the day-of preparations and ceremony, and to the very end of the farewell brunch. She has a very special way of dealing with people, and is an expert in getting things done! As I mentioned, we did a lot of things that weren't very traditional. When we opted for a Ben & Jerry's ice cream cart and bite-size flourless chocolate cakes from Sticky Fingers Bakery, she coordinated with the vendor and made sure that the ice cream cart was set up in time for our ceremonial ice cream scooping!
Instead of a formal cocktail welcome, we opted to rent out the 1900' Burger for casual burgers and beer during our Oktoberfest weekend wedding. Our guests really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, and Eddie the bartender kept the wine and beer flowing! Jason, the banquet manager, kept everything running smoothly, including the hiccups that come with an unexpected toddler showing up. (No wedding is immune to that, it seems!)
We did our own decorations for both the welcome dinner and the reception itself, but Kathy was a huge help with the extra decorating. She did a great job arranging the gift table, dessert table, and escort card table. Her touch gave it all a polished, professional feel.
Also deserving of special mention are LeeAnn, who served us during our tasting and reception; Katie and Haleigh who helped us trouble-shoot room assignments (our fault, not theirs!); and bartenders Eddie, TJ, and John for their constant attention to us and our guests. There are undoubtedly more people who deserve mention too, as amazing customer service is standard at Mount Snow.
And we haven't even mentioned the venue yet! The wedding garden is charming, and we were blessed with beautiful fall foliage at its peak. Our pictures are absolutely stunning! We arrived a few days early to finish last-minute planning and also took full advantage of the gym, hot tubs and pool, and chairlift rides to the top of the mountain. Having visited in February, June, and October, we feel lucky to have experienced the different seasons and activities at the resort. It is so much more than a great spot to ski! We will definitely cherish our wedding experience there, and we look forward to visiting again soon.
Finally, we shared our wedding weekend with another couple who got married the night before us. While we had a three-day affair for 85 people, they had a smaller 45-person event. We were privileged to see their banquet set-up and intimate evening ceremony around the fire pit. It was also lovely! Furthermore, there was plenty of time and space separating both weddings, so we didn't feel like we were crowding each other. It just goes to show that Mount Snow can accommodate all sorts of weddings!
I got married here 3 weeks ago and it was absolutely perfect. We had about 100 guests. JoAnne and Shannon really make sure everything runs smoothly. If anything did go wrong, I have no clue about it. We live in NJ, but our guests came from all over- mainly Texas (where my husband is from). The drive from the airports, albany or connecticut, are beautiful and all our guests were happy with the ride. Early check-in didn't seem like a problem for anyone and it was really nice to have all our guests stay at the same place as the ceremony and reception. JoAnne helped us organize our first look at the top of the mountain- I took the chairlift up in my wedding dress... It was absolutely perfect. We had the ceremony outside, it was beautiful and the weather was perfect for late September- cool, but sunny so no one was cold. We had cocktail hour outside as well, It was a bit chilly towards the end, but the firepit outside was fantastic and helped keep our guests warm. Everything for the reception looked beautiful, they really know what they're doing when they set up the ballroom. Also, to make sure everything is great, they give you access to Social Table to plan the layout of the ballroom and seating. The FOOD IS AMAZING. Everything that was served during cocktail hour and the actual meals were incredible. We're still getting compliments on the food. HUGE compliments to the chef- the sirloing and halibut were both cooked PERFECTLY and no one had a cold meal. Absolutely amazing. Lastly, at the end of the night they make sure all gifts, favors, and basically anything that you may want after the wedding gets to you. It really was perfect and anyone who gets married here is bound to have as amazing of an experience.
I couldn't imagine having picked a better venue for my wedding. Everything was incredible from the moment I contacted Shannon. Starting with the spreadsheet she sent me that I could play with to calculate an ACTUAL cost (including tax and gratuity), we knew Mt. Snow was the right place for us. We emailed several places, but once we saw the venue we booked it on the spot. Shannon was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process - when I started, I didn't even know what questions to ask, let alone the answers to them. Shannon walked me through every detail of the planning. On the day of, everything went smoothly because Shannon and her team were there making sure it did. From pinning corsages on the groomsmen to showing me where I needed to be and when, she had every detail covered. And when the bustle on my dress broke, she was there with safety pins to fix it. I even had guests telling me how amazing the staff was. And the food was even better! I'm a pretty big foodie and have high standards for the things I eat - this place was amongst the best meals I've ever eaten. I can't say enough nice things about Mt. Snow, Shannon, and her staff. Not to mention the amazing fall foliage and views that are in the background of my photos. I would HIGHLY recommend everyone have their wedding there.
I got married at the top of Mount Snow resort on September 12th, 2015. It was a dream come true. Everything went off without a hitch.
Dealing with Janelle was a pleasure especially when we found out a week before that I would need special permission from the Forest service to have a drone film the ceremony. The drone company got Mount Snow the details they needed and I didn't have to think about it again until they called me to say it was approved. Something huge for a bride a week before her wedding. Mount Snow did what was necessary and got the approval in a very timely fashion.
If you want a truly dreamy and picturesque location for your ceremony, go to the top of Mount Snow. One piece of advice to the brides, be sure to take in the views. All my guests loved it but the whole thing happened so quickly that I hardly got to enjoy the scenery!
We used Mt. Snow for guests to stay over after our wedding at a venue nearby. Shannon was very helpful and professional, making it easy and enjoyable for us!
We worked with Mount Snow on a number of events for our September wedding and cannot say enough about the professionalism of the entire staff. Our guests raved about the Grand Summit Lodge rooms and were extremely happy and comfortable in their accommodations. We hosted a Welcome BBQ at the Sundance Lodge and had a wonderful time using both the indoor and outdoor spaces to spend time with guests. The food and décor were the perfect way to welcome guests to the Vermont area. Our actual wedding was off-site, but we returned to the hotel for an After-Party and Farewell Brunch. Both events went exactly as planned and our guests were thrilled with the food Mount Snow prepared and with the wonderful staff, especially Jesse and the rest of the bar staff who accommodated our guests throughout the weekend. Everyone who works at Mount Snow is extremely friendly and happy to help accommodate everything from early arrivals to lodging changes. Our point-people for the weekend, Shannon and Janelle, were fantastic to work with and we appreciated how closely they worked with us before, during, and after our event. Jason was a huge asset on-site at all of our events and constantly made sure everything was running smoothly. We would absolutely work with Mount Snow again and are so grateful for the hard work they put into making our weekend incredibly special.
All of our guests had a great stay at The Grand Summit. We heard nothing but great things. All of the staff were friendly and we had no problems dropping off our guest bags and they made sure all guests got them. Our guests were even treated to discounted chair lift rides up the mountain. Shannon Wheeler was a pleasure to work with and was always responsive to all of our questions. Completely recommend having your guests stay here.
The grand summit it absolutely amazing! My day was perfect and flawless! I could not have asked for a more amazing wedding! It is beautiful! The staff is polite and so helpful. Janelle our planner was amazing, helpful and awesome. She made my day perfect. Anything I needed she did. I did not have to worry about one thing but having a great time! Everyone went above and beyond. I had a great experience with mount snow and would recommend this place to everyone! It was a fairytale
We had some minor communication and coordinating issues during the planning process but we always found the staff to be helpful and happy to be hosting our wedding weekend. We knew Mt Snow would be the venue after our first visit to see it and meet with the main coordinator. Our coordinator helped keep us organized and on time with the numerous planning tasks. When we arrived the day before we were blown away by how amazing the ball room looked and it wasn't even complete. The woman in charge didn't miss one detail. Every staff person we saw that weekend from our coordinator to the groundskeepers were genuine in their wishes and gave us the feeling our wedding and guests were the only thing they had to focus on although other guests were staying at the resort. The food was incredible and the newly upgraded patio was the perfect setting for cocktail hour and pictures. We had a specialty cocktail which the bar manager helped us tweek to best be enjoyed by our guests. Having everything in one spot, from different rooms to get ready, a bridal suite, ceremony, cocktails, and reception made it easy on our guests, most of whom were from out-of-state, including us. We even were able to do a late night at the restaurant which gave us even more time to mingle and celebrate with our loved ones. Everyone exceeded our expectations, and we are still, a month later receiving notes and messages from our guests about how wonderful it all was.
We dealt with Shannon to set up a room block for our guests. She was the most communicative person in perhaps all of our wedding planning! We were thrilled to work with her and our guests loved the Inn!
Would work with them and Shannon again in a heartbeat.
The service, the food, the ease of planning- everything relating to my wedding was fantastic! I had guests coming up to me complimenting me on my venue choice, and telling me about what great service they were getting.
From start to finish Mt snow was the most amazing place to get married, We still feel like part of the family and return yearly to visit. It was the most incredible weekend of my life and could not have asked for anything more.
