My son got married at Mountain Creek on 9/14/24. I can't express enough how perfect and wonderful the day was. From 9 am in the Bridal Suite to 1:00 am at the after party, everything went so well. The staff was helpful and attentive. If we needed something or had a question, it was acknowledged right away. Food was great, everyone enjoyed cocktail hour and their meals. The ceremony on the mountaintop was so beautiful! What a great place to have a wedding!
Not a question, an epic experience for us and our guests. We felt like we had white glove service from prep thru game-day. The MC staff crushed it and our wedding was amazing!
Vendor Review! We got married 4/29/23 and despite the rain downpour the whole weekend, it really was an absolute dream of a weekend.
Venue: Mountain Creek – 10/10
My husband and I only looked at wedding venues that had hotels attached (we hate shuttles and find that theres always issues getting people back and forth between different locations) and we were so happy that we found Mountain Creek. We honestly could not have picked a better venue for us to get married at – the staff, rooms, and grounds were so perfect. All of the coordinating staff was fantastic and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was set in place for us. We worked with Jessica as our coordinator and she kept the day running smoothly, despite the torrential downpour rain and all the scrambling associated with that. There are reviews that say they are not great with communication, but we honestly never had any issues with this. The coordination staff is very upfront that their communication system based on pre-planned meetings and for things that pop up in between to prioritize brides who are getting married in the next ~2 months and answer all other questions when they are able to. This was 100% our experience and worked perfectly for us – we absolutely had their undivided attended in the weeks leading up to our wedding.
For the actual wedding, we got so many compliments afterwards about how great the food was (more than a couple guests mentioned that the filet entrée was “the best they’ve ever had at a wedding”) and how nice all of the banquet staff was. No one had to wait more than couple minutes for a drink the entire night and they were nice enough to let us use the after party space for an additional half hour.
Really could not recommend this venue more!
Any questions?
Mountain Creek is a stunning venue, that's obvious from all of the pictures, but that barely scratches the surface. The team over at MC, particularly Jessica and Colleen, are incredibly professional and communicative. You can tell that they really care about you and your guests, and your wedding needs are their top priority. The views are breathtaking, the gondola ride is an awesome experience, the food is great, the bartenders/waiters are incredible, the banquet manager Suzy really knows what she's doing. I cannot recommend booking here enough.

Growing up skiing at mountain creek, i was surprised when my wife had mentioned she wanted to visit this venue (I didn’t know they had one). We were both drawn to the idea of the mountain top ceremony - which was unreal.
Let me start off by saying the staff, food, hotel, and the venue itself was incredible. If you are looking for something a little bit different, this is the spot to go. Our coordinators jumped through hoops to keep us stress free and happy until the big moment which is very much appreciated. 10/10 recommend - just go check it out !

p ceremony to the delicious food and comfortable accommodations, we're delighted that every aspect of your special day was met with satisfaction. We can't wait to welcome you back for another memorable visit! Congratulations again to you and Chloe!
Sorry in advance for the long post, but I want this to be very thorough for any prospecting B&Gs.
I found out about this venue through a bride that posted her pictures on the NJ Brides Facebook group. I have never heard of MC but when I saw the pictures of the ceremony, I knew I wanted to go visit. When I visited, I fell in love with the spacious venue and the grounds. I didn't even get to see the mountain top ceremony because it was ski season, but I signed the contract anyway. The pictures and experience speak for themselves.
I would like to preface this review by stating that I am a manager and Maitre D at an extremely popular venue in NJ and run 6 weddings every week, I have been in the business for 12 years. I have HIGH expectations.
Working with the ladies at MC was great. They were always helpful leading up to the wedding day. Very detailed, which I appreciated.
Of course the 10 day forecast was actually correct. It poured almost all day until after the ceremony. Of course. It cleared up enough that Jessica let us go to the mountain top for our first look and as many pictures as we could squeeze in before the next storm rolled through. So most of my formal pictures were taken care of up there and my family and bridal party were able to experience the gondola, which of course is the main thing I talked to all of our guests about for the 2 years that we had been booked at MC. They were kind enough to immediately refund our large payment that is required for the mountain top ceremony.
The indoor ceremony was also a great option with curtains that were included to block off the reception tables, which is very rare to include.
The bridal suites were beautiful and newly renovated. The food was absolutely wonderful and plentiful! Timeline went smoothly thanks to our maitre d that kept us on pace so that I didn't have to micromanage or worry about anything. I stayed on the dance floor all night, just where I wanted to be. Our bridal attendant Diana was fabulous and very sweet. I almost had a melt down before walking down the aisle. I walked by myself so I didn't have any loved ones to hang on to or calm me down. Diana held my hand and let me squeeze it for as long as I wanted and I'll never forget that!
Having the after party upstairs (in the same room) and hotel a walk next door was the best part. We spent the weekend there and it was everything I ever wanted. No one wants to spend that much money on one day, so we made it a weekend experience. Absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. I cannot wait to come back for the Valentine's Day dinner and stay over night! Thank you so much, especially to Jessica for being there for us throughout this whole process and I know you worked your butt off that day keeping me calm and setting up all of my MANY details. I can't thank you all enough!!

Your recommendation means the world to us, and we can't wait to welcome you back for future celebrations and events. Thank you once again for choosing Mountain Creek to be a part of your special day. We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
Congratulations to you and Kevin!
Mountain Creek is an absolutely gorgeous venue. Jessica and Linda made the day of experience absolutely amazing and we couldn't be more thankful for their guidance, good humor, and professionalism. The pair also helped ease my anxieties throughout the day and made us feel better about having to rearrange things thanks to rain. The food was outstanding and our guests will not stop telling us how much fun they had and how delicious the food was. While we didn't get to have our dream wedding on top of the mountain thanks to the on and off rain, the team made the indoor location into the perfect back-up space.
I will say communication could have been better throughout the process and the hotel chose really poor timing to switch to a new reservation system which caused a lot of confusion for our guests, but hopefully going forward no one will have those issues.
One big tip I have for Mountain Creek and brides who may have to move their wedding inside during mountain biking season: Have someone by the doors downstairs telling the bikers to please remain quiet for the ceremony. Unfortunately, a mountain biker chose the middle of my vows to start shouting. My guests shushed him and it tripped me up during my vows, which I'm hoping our videographer was able to work around.
Other than that, the experience was amazing and we couldn't have picked a better venue!
I cannot say enough good things about Mountain Creek. My wedding was 5/28/23 and Colleen and Jess were such a dream to work with! They made the entire process so seamless for us and were so sweet and kind. They truly went above and beyond to help us achieve our vision for our big day. Linda, the bridal attendant, was a life-saver on the day of the wedding as well! Between running up and down the mountain for forgotten bouquets and vowbooks to getting me advil and anything else I needed, she was sooo instrumental to our big day running smoothly! Our guests absolutely LOVED everything about our big day - from the unique mountaintop ceremony with unmatched views, the food, everything! If you're on the fence about getting married here, this is your sign to do it!!!
I had the most amazing wedding at MC!!!
Linda who is the bridal attendant was just perfect.
She was there every step of the way. She ran down to put me veil back on when it got caught on a pumpkin during the walk down to the ceremony.
She helped holding my flowers, veil and train when taking pictures. For the reception, anytime we got up, a new drink would be placed at the table for us.
She was just perfect.
Our coordinator was Jessica and you’d be so lucky to get her as yours!!! She was so good and patient with all my emails up to the wedding. I gave her containers of decor and she decorated the space with no direction from me and did a beautiful job!!! She's so sweet and caring and you can tell she loves what she does.
The scenery is just beautiful and it’s a unique place to have your wedding!
My husband did and I did not want to go to a typical “wedding factory” for our wedding. We had been to several weddings that can pump out 2-3 weddings simultaneously and are built just for the purpose of quantity. We wanted an experience for ourselves and our guests that was unique, memorable, and enjoyable. MC checked all the boxes.
We were somewhat wary at first because while we loved the mountaintop ceremony space and the reception venues as well; we saw some negative reviews. I can obviously only speak to our experience but I have no idea what those other people were talking about.
We booked with Tori who was always willing to work with us in the contract process. She always got us the answers we needed, and even specific liquor we wanted that was not available in the normal open bar.
For the actual coordination and details of wedding you then go to Colleen, Jessica, and Connie. THEY ARE ALL AMAZING and if anyone else says otherwise on here maybe they should re-evaluate themselves and see if they also dislike puppies and cute babies because it’s be impossible to dislike this team. Colleen was our day of coordinator and she went above and beyond every part of the wedding for us. I wish I had a Colleen every day of my life. She is absolutely indispensable. I don’t even have enough words to take about Colleen. From set up to ceremony she made sure everything was flawless. Jessica also helped in our rehearsal and in our initial plannings and was so helpful.
On the day of I had Linda as my bridal attendant. I must protect Linda at all costs. I know I already asked for a Colleen everyday of my life but I want to add Linda as well. Linda was amazing and truly made me feel like I didn’t have to worry about a thing the day of. I like to say my bridesmaids and especially my MOH are professional bridal party people, all married and understanding the duties, and even they were so impressed and also wished they had a Linda their wedding day(you can’t have her she’s mine). Any review here referencing Linda negatively is just straight up wrong. You’d have to be a rare human to not recognize Linda’s kindness and helpfulness.
Suzy was our Maitre’D and was doing a ton of behind the scenes work I probably only began to understand the breadth of, but I saw her making sure everything was in its place prior to the reception and paying attention to every detail.
I can go on and on about how much this venue exceeded our expectations. I would take any negative reviews with a grain of salt but want to address some of the points they made. Communication - remember this is not just a wedding venue. The staff has a ton of responsibilities. They may not always respond immediately but they always respond accurately and with the information you need. If it was urgent, they would respond sooner. Appalachian hotel- run separately and the staff was accommodating . I liked that you could text with the front desk for any questions and concerns. The room I stayed in with my bridesmaids the night because was updated, clean, modern and we loved it. We had a big room block (40 reservations) and while we had a few hiccups with check in overall no complaints. Would love to see all the rooms updated though since we were put in an older one for our newlywed. Food- we worried about this one because we LOVE food but our guests (who also love food) said the food was great and we also enjoyed what we managed to have.
Amazing wedding , great people. Thank you MC!
From start to finish, Mountain Creek did a truly fantastic job with our wedding. They gave us all the information and tools we needed to keep on track throughout the nearly year-long process of planning the wedding. We felt comfortable and supported, even with a lot of hyper-specific requests we made...and MC always did their best to give us a resounding "yes!" on these requests when possible.
The actual wedding weekend was spectacular as well. The venues are gorgeous, the food is great, and the staff is friendly and super-helpful. Not to mention all of the wonderful activities in and around Mountain Creek which kept us and our guests busy all weekend long! Considering they had no fewer than THREE weddings the same weekend, there were relatively few hiccups and they did a great job making us feel like we were "the most important VIPs" throughout the weekend.
Special shout-outs to Jessica, Linda, and Susie for being ever-present throughout the Big Day and making sure all our needs were met with a bright smile and kind words.
We cannot recommend Mountain Creek enough!
We had an amazing wedding at mountain creek, the venue is beautiful and Connie and Colleen were great to work with. Just a heads up the Appalachian hotel however was disorganized and hectic we had a lot of problems we heard from our guests from stolen jewelry to letting our groomsman check into a dirty room that hadn’t even been cleaned. Aside from all that we believe that the wonderful wedding we had made up for everything even with all the other hiccups we encountered at the venue. It is a beautiful venue with spectacular views. And the cocktail hour food was amazing and the drinks were even better. Gorgeous place we regret nothing and believe we chose the best place to hold our dream wedding.
I travelled to mountain creek for a wedding. It was my first time there.
The view was beautiful no doubt about that. But that’s really all this place has to offer.
The venue was hot and we were told that’s as cool as it’s going to get.
Several people at my table had the steak and said it was like chewing a tire. People were even sending it back. I had the ravioli it came out cold.
The wait staff decided that they no longer wanted to tend to the guest and would much rather party on the dance floor. A family member went up to the staff while they were dancing and had to ask them to please get more beverages for the table. I saw guest pouring their own coffee.
We brought baskets filled with supplies for the wedding. Towards the end of the night we went to collect the baskets. The staff had already taken them. When we asked about it the staff said they had taken them and put them aside. When we asked to please have our belongings they told us we would have to get the bride and groom to ask them for it. Once we did that the Linda would not hand the baskets to us. She tossed them on the table and walked away not acknowledging us saying thank you.
The hotel rooms are okay. I guess they are mostly used by family’s there for skiing/snowboarding. I did find mold on the shower curtain. When we went to use the shower the knob fell off. We only stayed for the night so the shower wasn’t a huge inconvenience for us.
I see some people had great experiences here however I wouldn’t risk it after seeing how staff acted. Your wedding guest come to celebrate the couple not serve themselves and deal with rude staff
Mountain Creek was the perfect venue for us! We had the ceremony & reception inside and it was beyond beautiful. The venue has such an nice feel to it that we were able to go with very minimal decorations/ flowers and people were still blown away by it. Colleen, Jessica, Linda, and Frank were so amazing to work with and made me feel special, cared for, and thought of throughout the day.
9/10 My wedding day was the best. day. ever. and Mountain Creek was a huge reason why.
The venue is absolutely gorgeous, the hotel rooms are so homey, the ceremony location is breathtaking and the gondola ride sets it over the top. The lodge is beautiful on its own and didn’t need any decorations but Colleen the coordinator did an incredible job setting up all of my decorations. We couldn’t believe the effort that she put in to set our wedding above our expectations. She was not lying when she said that they will fill any space you leave with decorations and candles. It will look like the wedding venue of your dreams on the day of.
We did a buffet and I can’t recommend this enough because all of the food is incredible and my guests were so happy to get to try everything. The food at cocktail hour and the reception were hands down the best wedding food I’ve ever had and I wish that I could go back and eat there again. Our guests were raving about how amazing everything was. Frank the Maitre d’ is secretly awesome. You will not know that he is doing an incredible job because he is doing an incredible job. My parents told me afterwards about all of the little things that he did, not only to keep the night running smoothly but also to make sure that my older guests had a spectacular time as well. Frank’s team of servers were all great and the bartenders made some of the best cocktails and did a great job with our signature drinks.
Then there was Linda, my attendant. She was a rockstar and everyone knew it. She was my right hand girl all day and everyone loved her. She is the one that makes sure that your day is spectacular and special from getting ready to the last song. She is the best at her job. Whatever they are paying Linda she deserves more. Whatever you plan on tipping her, trust me put aside more for her.
The hotel had the biggest hiccups but the front desk staff were very nice and helpful. Some of the things were outside of their control and some of it was stuff they dropped the ball on. All in all the things that went wrong, hotel or otherwise, were all insignificant.
The day was perfect, our guests were very happy, Mountain Creek is the most amazing wedding venue and I would get married there again in a heartbeat.
I honestly could not recommend this venue more. First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous and the hotel rooms are spacious and beautiful as well. Secondly, the staff is just wonderful ! Colleen and Connie were a delight during the planning process and so accommodating during the back and forth of covid changes and Hurricanes hitting the day before my wedding! I also cannot say enough about the bridal attendant, Linda. She was beyond helpful and so very sweet. A true MVP! Frank and all of the servers were also so wonderful! I highly recommend mountain creek for your best day ever!
After touring Mountain Creek, we had THAT feeling that it was THE venue for us. It’s an important place for us because my fiancé taught me to snowboard here. We’re the last couple in our group to get married so we wanted something unique so this was perfect. It’s cozy and elegant. We booked over a year out to get the date we wanted. If you have questions over a year before your wedding, it’s hard to get an answer so I wrote down all my questions to ask a year before the wedding. You’ll be able to contact the specific coordinators directly by then. Communication can be slow but if it’s urgent mark it as urgent and they will get back to you! I was planning with a friend and she would get answers within a day or so from her venue while I waited up to a week for an answer. Majority of things I asked were not urgent so it didn’t matter to me how long I waited. The year before our wedding–we were still in the beginning of opening up from lockdown. As per the contract, it said everything is nonrefundable so every time we sent a payment, we worried if we were going to have our wedding the way we want it! Though every time we talked, they were calm and very sure that they were going to be able to provide us the wedding we deserved. We were lucky that by the time of our wedding, there was no restrictions. But I did appreciate the fact that we wouldn’t have had to cancel if things got bad again because they were ready to hold a wedding outdoors. On our wedding weekend, majority of our friends and family joined us in the hotel. While I had an issue with the hotel, our friends and family commented that everyone was nice and the manager was able to get my family a 2 bedroom suite! She was fine with a 1 bedroom but the extra bathroom was a plus! I think the main point is to remember that if you have an issue, ask nicely and they will rectify the situation. We had so much fun roaming around the halls and spending time with our family. My husband and I will definitely come back to enjoy the hotel. There was a forecast of rain during our rehearsal dinner so they moved us from the Biergarten to a room in the hotel. It was really nice because they decorate the place for you and you really don’t have to do anything. The same thing with the reception, apart from my centerpieces–Colleen, the event coordinator, promised and delivered that the place would be decorated beautifully. I bought a few things but I REALLY did not need to! The place was beautiful. My guests said the view from the mountaintop was the best they’ve seen and they said the food was WONDERFUL. The little food I ate was great and that is my only regret–not eating more! Brides–when they ask you if you want to have quiet time to eat, TAKE IT! I always read that advice but I don’t know why I didn’t take the advice myself! LOL. Anyway! My husband and I were lucky with the weather and he’s go with the flow so we don't the sweat the small stuff. The little hiccups that happened during the wedding were things that can happen in other venues… what matters is how the venue fix it and I feel like we were treated well by MC. We forgot lot of items in our room when we checked out and they were wonderful in retrieving it even though it seemed impossible! We are extremely happy with MC. So, if you love the venue and some reviews scare you–go ahead and hire your own day of coordinator, read the contract and just ask questions. If we had to do everything all over again, we would still pick MC as our venue.
I cannot say enough great things about MC! We initially toured and booked with Tori (who is amazing - so sweet, knowledgeable and professional) in 2018, and postponed our 2019 date to 2020 because of a sudden death in the family, and they were incredible about it - their response was something more akin to how close friends would react than someone you were doing business with. Tori then put us in touch with Colleen, the Wedding Coordinator, who is an absolute DREAM to work with. She is so kind, funny, patient, and didn't ever mind answering my questions. We postponed to 2021 because of the pandemic, and, again, MC handled it SO much better than many other venues. While there were periods of waiting to know our options, when we spoke with Tori and Colleen, they put us at ease, and made it VERY easy to postpone. The tasting was wonderful, and we were able to see Tori and Colleen there, as well as meet Connie, the Assistant Event Coordinator, and Linda, the Bridal Attendant for the day of the wedding. All of them are just LOVELY! Upon our arrival at the Appalachian, Colleen called just to say hi, check in, and see if we needed anything. During rehearsal Colleen walked us through everything, made sure my cousin who was officiating felt comfortable and had all his questions answered. Every step of the way she checked in with me and my wife, made sure we were comfortable, offered advice/reminders but always made sure we knew the final decision was ours to make. The rehearsal was great, and Linda and Frank, the Banquet Manager, came and introduced themselves to us. The day of the wedding ran smoothly; there is a beautiful new bridal suite, and groom's suite, although my wife elected to get ready in Schuss Lounge, and everything in both spaces was amazing. Colleen was constantly back and forth between me, my wife, and our reception/ceremony spaces to attend to everything - you would think she had cloned herself, she was doing so much and was miraculously ALWAYS there when we needed her! We had an iPad that needed to go to the top of the mountain to stream the ceremony, and though my brother left it in the hotel room, Colleen never let me know that. When I asked about it so I could log in she said, "Of course, I'll get it to you right now" and then had someone at the hotel get it, send it up the mountain, and brought to me in a matter of 10 minutes, all without me knowing. She HANDLES things, all the while never breaking a sweat or making the couple feel any unnecessary stress/pressure. The entire ceremony was an absolute dream, and so worth the 3 year wait. It was perfection, and I credit so much of it to Colleen - we were in the very best hands with her, and I would recommend Mountain Creek 1000x over for her alone! After the ceremony, Colleen's job is done, as she is working on another wedding, and Frank takes over. Our guests raved about the food (especially cocktail hour!), thought the place was gorgeous, Kevin the bartender got several shout outs from our family for his awesome drinks and personality, Linda was everywhere we needed her to be and so sweet, and overall everyone couldn't stop telling us what a great place it was to have a wedding and how amazing the staff was. They really treated us as individuals, and were there for us every step of the way. If we had to do it all again, we would choose Mountain Creek every time!
My husband and I got married at Mountain Creek on May 30 2021 and we are still on cloud 9. We were a covid couple who had to postpone, so i’m sure a lot of you understand that so much can go wrong and it was sometimes a struggle. But, every time we got on the phone with Colleen at Mountain Creek, my mind was immediately eased. She didn’t leave anything for us to stress about. Her understanding of where my mind constantly was and exactly what my day would look like was so helpful. Restrictions changed so many times leading up to my day and Colleen walked us through them each time and was the most prepared and and calming presence for us. I truly can’t put into words how much better it made our entire wedding process to have Colleen. She was our literal lifeline and I did not have to stress ever.
From my bridal suite to after party, every single employee at Creek was an absolute saint. Making sure everything was easy for me all day and I can’t express how grateful we are. A million details and possible problems run through your head everyday as a bride, but I didn’t realize how much of a difference the employees at my venue would have made. I would not have made it through that day so carefree without them. Linda took over for Colleen after the ceremony and was such an all star. Again, just making sure my husband and I were happy and carefree the entire time.
I cant recommend this place enough. Everything went off perfectly, even when it was pouring rain my whole wedding day. Our cocktail hour room and reception were just so dreamy and beautiful. I wish i could do it all over again. So much love and appreciation for this venue and their employees !!!!!
June 27th is available
My fiance and I just booked our wedding at Mountain Creek Resort for September 2022. I had talked about getting married at Mountain Creek since before we were even engaged, and our experience so far has lived up to all expectations. When we initially reached out in January, we got a very quick response from Tori who was very accommodating to get us in for a tour. As soon as we arrived and met Tori, we knew that this was our venue. She was friendly, thorough and very transparent about all details. Even in the midst of ski season, we felt so well taken care of and Tori was able to help us envision the venue as we will see it on our wedding day. When we officially decided to hold our date, the process was easy and efficient and we got email confirmations of all steps that were completed and processed. The same goes for when we signed our contract and made our deposit. We feel very confident that our wedding is in good hands and we are looking forward to continuing the process with Mountain Creek for the next several months!
First and foremost, Mountain Creek is absolutely stunning! The Red Tail Lodge is perfect for weddings. Before getting married there, I had been there for skiing season and it has a totally different look. Once the wedding tables are brought out and everything is decorated for the special occasion, it’s hard to believe that a few weeks later there would be tons of skiers resting from the cold there. We took pictures at the top of the mountain, which was absolutely stunning! Then the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all in the same room due to covid restrictions, but it was truly flawless and I can’t imagine it any other way! The staff was excellent at adapting to the covid restrictions and they were always thinking about what was best for the couple and guests above all else. They went above and beyond to meet our needs and requests. We felt completely pampered and at ease. I thought getting married was supposed to be stressful…. especially in covid times! Mountain Creek and it’s staff completely took that stress away. From touring the property and signing the contract all the way through the wedding day, the staff was completely available for communication all the time. The food was probably the best that I have ever tasted at a wedding. My guests were complimenting the food all night long! I can’t imagine a more beautiful setting and wonderful staff. If you love the outdoors at all…this is the place to get married!!!!!!
I am very shocked to read bad reviews about Mountain Creek. Due to covid, we decided to scrap our original plans and scale down our wedding. We saw on Facebook that MC offered a "Micro-Wedding" for a very affordable price. Being nature lovers, we were certainly drawn to the mountaintop ceremony. When we went for a tour, we were sold on the views. Our wedding for 25 guests was in September and it was the most perfect day ever! I cannot thank the staff enough for ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Some of the guests didn't care for the food, but hands down everyone raved about the ambiance. From beginning to end of planning, I had no issues with communication. We were in touch with each other constantly and I felt seen and heard. I thank Colleen and Tori so much for executing everything my heart desired. When I look at our wedding video, I can't help but smile and tear up all over again. Everything was magical and turned out even better than expected. Booking MC was a great choice!
Extremely disappointed in Mountain Creek. After having to provide two separate save the date deposits because we wanted our families to see the venue and coronavirus, we were finally able to see the venue during “wedding season”. I was told it would be thoroughly cleaned and spruced up but the venue was a wreck; disgusting dirty and so much chaos/disorganization by the staff for our scheduled tour. We decided to cancel and ask for at least one of our hold the date deposits back. We were told no, our multiple deposits were non-refundable, should also be noted that is the only quick reply I received during the times I’ve spoken with them. Disappointed but I’m glad we did not lose more money to them.
Please save yourself the trouble and do not book your wedding or any other event here. I started wedding planning in August 2018 and my experience with mountain creek has been a nightmare. When I first found mountain creek, I was hesitant because I read a horrible review about how they could not accommodate a mountaintop wedding and refused to send the couple money back. I brought this concern to Tori’s attention and she assured me that there was a “miscommunication” and that couple did get their money back. Miscommunications, lack of communication, and taking people’s money is very common at this venue. Tori was able to get this, and many other negative comments removed from this site. Since August 2018, I read countless reviews 3-4 star reviews about the frustration from the lack of communication on mountain creek’s end. I personally have had this issue and found myself constantly emailing Tori multiple times before receiving a response. My wedding was planned for June 2020, and My mom and I were able to just board the gondola and walk around the mountain top, in jeans and sneakers, minutes before guests arrived; we actually passed many guests on our way down from the mountain! In December 2019, I had to cancel my wedding after my fiancé threatened my life. Tori reassured me that if someone booked a wedding on June 14, 2020 that I would be able to receive my deposit back. Her email had said “In order to receive partial or full refund we will need to resell the date. The date has officially be released and is available to be booked.” I was emailing Tori every month in hopes of getting my $11,000 back, and she kept telling me no one was booking the date. When I had a friend reach out to Tori to book the date on March 23, Tori’s response was “As far as available date this year. We unfortunately do not have any Friday, Saturday or Sundays available. We do have a decent amount of Thursdays available”. I had just emailed Tori on March 19 asking if anyone had booked the date and she told me it was still available. I knew I was being lied to and reached out to Tori again on March 29 asking why she was not offering that date to anyone. Now she claimed that June 14 and November 29th were the “only two Sundays available”. I called Human Resources at mountain creek when I found out Tori was lying to me so she could hold onto my $11,000 and a very nice woman in HR helped me by putting me in contact with Josh Bernstein, the most unprofessional person I’ve ever met. Josh told me that he could not offer me a refund because it was “the position of the resort”. After forwarding him the email Tori sent me about a refund if someone booked my date, he replied with “That is a courtesy that we extend to clients. It is only if another wedding of equal or greater value is booked.” I was heartbroken, I didn’t understand why that same courtesy could not be extended to me. I was able to book an event in June, but it was not able to be held to the pandemic. On July 22, Tori reached out to me telling me they are only able to honor my deposits up to the end of this calendar year. I let her know that myself and many of my other family members are immunocompromised and that holding an event at this time is pretty much life threatening. I’m truly heartbroken over Mountain Creek’s lack of empathy during this global pandemic. I still have not received any money back during this challenging time.

Shannon,
I am very sorry to see you posting this message throughout social media, though I am not surprised, as you have certainly threatened us with this many times in private.
Sadly, your accusations and smear campaign are false. We are ...
a people driven organization and I can tell you that we deeply care about all of our guests and our team members. This includes you. This is why we have spent so much time trying to find a suitable solution for you. We are willing to work with all of our guests that find themselves in a situation that causes one to cancel an event - this has been proven by all of the hard work our team has done, working with all our brides and families impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. My heart goes out to each bride and family who must deal with this unfortunate situation.
It is important to point out, however, that your event was not cancelled due to Covid-19. Instead, you unilaterally cancelled your event prior to this national crisis.
We understand plans change. But, your event was scheduled and canceled on your own volition prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is unfortunate you see this as an opportunity to benefit at the expense of others’ sickness and misfortune.
Even with your last minute cancellation, we still tried to find a suitable solution for you - none of which was received with cooperation on your part. That said, we do not appreciate the direct messages threatening to smear our name and businesses standards, as this is not who we are as a company.
We are thankful for the 100+ brides and grooms a year that host their wedding at our property and have shared just how special their day was at Mountain Creek Resort. We look forward to continue sharing in these moments over the coming years.
Please consider this the end of our business/guest relationship, as we will no longer accept your business. Thank you.

Let me start by saying, we aren't actually getting married at Mountain Creek due to COVID-19, so this review is based on the 1.5 years of planning that led up to what should've been our wedding day...
We really cannot express enough how appreciative we are of Tori and Colleen's help throughout the whole wedding planning process, but also especially during the last couple of weeks trying to navigate the COVID-19 situation. It is not every day that a global pandemic happens in the 60 days prior to your wedding after a year and a half of planning and having a vision of your big day The way that Tori, Colleen and the leadership at Mountain Creek handled the situation made what was a difficult situation for everyone as easy as it could be. We are so grateful for the stance that Mountain Creek has taken on this situation - which was to put their brides and grooms (healthy, safety and finanacial well being) before their potential revenue loss. We have heard absolute horror stories of how venues have completely screwed people over but when it was decided that our wedding wouldn't be happening - we were given the option to reschedule in 2020, 2021 or cancel. We feel so grateful for the compassion, flexibility and understanding everyone from Mountain Creek has shown us.
In additon to this, we had a fantastic experience with the planning process. Colleen and Connie were extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout our planning meetings and accomidating to times that worked for us, as we live out of state. We did have an oppertunity to do our food tasting and I would give it 5 stars.. everything was so good! The value of what you get (SO much food and top notch liqour choices) for what you pay we felt was phenominal.
It is heartbreaking that we won't be able to ultimately get married at Mountain Creek, but it will always be a speical place ot us regardless! (The only reason we decided to cancel our wedding is that the only 2020 avaliability they had left was Thursdays and we didn't want to wait until 2021 for a Friday or Saturday. )
Perfection ! Pure perfection. I got married this past summer and still am in awe of how smooth everything leading up to, as well as the day of was for me. Seeing so many friends and family over the holidays reminded me that my guests are still talking about how it was the best wedding they had ever been to! The staff tended to everyone's needs, the food was INCREDIBLE and served in abundance and the coordinators helped me, a very anxious person feel nothing but bliss on my wedding day! Leading up to the wedding Colleen and Connie were the ultimate dream team. They listened to every idea, all questions and my potential crazy bride moments (it's a thing for sure) I had along the way. My husband and I also had Linda by our side the entire day. She was professional and made sure we had whatever we needed at any point! Thank you Colleen, Connie and Linda for a day I wish I could relive over and over !!
We also made a wedding weekend for all of our guest. Getting to spend three days with everyone made it even more special. Accommodations on site were perfect! We had a welcome dinner on the patio at Great Gorge Clubhouse! The food was incredible yet again. Then closed out the weekend with a breakfast at the hotel for our guests. I could go on and on but to simply put it we are so HAPPY and would not change a thing! (Even the few rain drops during the start of our photos) Thank you again Colleen and Connie and the entire Mountain Creek Staff !
Short review: if you haven’t already signed a contract with MC, don’t. Everything was great until we signed the contract. They even filed for bankruptcy beforehand and neglected to tell us.
If you already signed, here’s the long version. The venue seems awesome, with the mountain ceremony and onsite hotel, which explains 1 star. Yet, they don't care that you've chosen to celebrate your wedding there. It was extremely difficult communicating throughout the months and even days before the wedding. When we did get in touch we asked the same questions with no definite responses. They would verbally tell us that something was fine and then later claim that they never said that. We were constantly reminded that they have 3 weddings per weekend. There seemed to be no concern for our happiness. We found out about Colleen’s maternity leave via an auto-reply email. Completely unprofessional.
That being said, the food at our wedding explains the 2nd star. We were pleasantly surprised (after a horrible tasting experience). However, my husband and I only got a small plate of passed appetizers for our private cocktail hour.
The worst thing MC did was lie about set up and breakdown. We were originally told we'd need to drop off a list of our personal items and where they'd be placed so they could set up for us. This was a big reason we chose MC. One month before the wedding, this suddenly wasn't a service they provided (nor did they acknowledge that it ever was). We had to recruit family members to unload our cars and set up the morning of our wedding. Even worse, the day after, we had to take everything out between 7-9 am (reminded again about 3 weddings). This completely ruined our wedding weekend for our parents. The alternative offer was to pay $2000 for them to provide a service they had already promised. They also suddenly told us that a maitre'd, who we never met and didn't know any of our details, would be spending the entire day with me. They just do not understand the sensitivity of such a big event.
Our rehearsal was a complete disaster. Connie confused everyone and our own day-of coordinator ended up sitting with her for over an hour to set everything straight. We headed off to our rehearsal dinner at Great Gorge which we highly do NOT recommend - but we’ll keep it focused on MC itself.
There were so many issues during our wedding day (but our outside coordinator was luckily able to fix many). Let’s see.. no AC in the bridal suite during a heat wave, Connie being in a meeting with another couple during our first look, guests being sent up and down the gondola and told different ceremony locations, and not serving drinks until our designated cocktail hour start time (guests were 10 min early and we discussed this possibility prior- they rushed our ceremony due to weather). They even tried to keep my husband and me from entering the lodge right after our ceremony (again, 10 min early). I should mention that, after a lot of complaining by my MIL, the hotel did comp my room. Though, this is very small compared to our overall payment. Connie didn’t even say goodbye to us or our coordinator before leaving. We never heard anything from MC after our wedding.
If you're stuck with MC, here’s our advice. Hire your own day-of coordinator. Read your BEO critically, make ALL changes (ours was a mess) before mailing your final payment (yes, mail it). We have beautiful pictures and great memories, but if we chose again, it would not be MC.
My wedding was over 2 years ago and I was very hesitant to write a review. Overall my wedding day was absolutely magical. The grounds, lodge, hotel, and mountain are beautiful, and my band, florist, and photographer were amazing. We completely lucked out with perfect weather and this all contributed to a spectacular weekend. Unfortunately the service provided by this venue was another story. As someone who planned her wedding, I felt that I relied on reviews and it would not be honest of me if I did not share my experience. When we booked it we were told numerous things that turned out to not be true - no mats in the bottom of the cabriolet, no speakers/sound system at the top of the mountain, no more hotel rooms would become available, and no staff at the hotel and along the path to the top to help guests. Our rehearsal dinner was Friday night at an amazing Italian restaurant (Milano's - loved!) The hotel provided us with a van that we were told held 14 people, but it actually only held 10. This messed up our timing because it had to make more trips, took longer than expected, and my dad had to shuttle people over. Before leaving for the rehearsal dinner, my husband confirmed with the bartender we'd have her until 1:30 am. She told us she was only on until 11 pm. This had been finalized a week prior and printed on the itinerary I had read to Colleen. Also on Friday, the hotel bags were not put behind the front desk for guests that had been driven up a week prior. On Saturday we were faced with more issues - completely out of anyone's control, but Colleen ended up getting hurt and was not there for most of the day/night and there was no one to pick up the slack. I had planned this wedding with Colleen for about a year and the person who "stepped in" knew nothing. Someone told my husband before he walked down the aisle that Colleen was hurt, which was unprofessional and inappropriate. Cheryl, the bridal attendant, told my bridesmaids we were having bridal party introductions, which was not true and caused stress for them. She also had us stay in the Schuss lounge for way too long during our cocktail hour which we basically missed and gave us a small plate of food to share between us. We had paid for an extra bar outside throughout the event and guests were turned away from that during the wedding. At the end of the night, the head of catering came up to me and asked why the band was packing up because they hadn't served the cake yet! We had also paid for an after party in the Schuss lounge, where my HUSBAND had to set up the speakers because no one did. Back at the hotel, the bridal suite was a mess. No one had cleaned the food and garbage that had been left there from the morning. On Sunday morning we got to brunch in the Hawk's Nest where the head of catering again finds me to tell me they don't have enough tables set up! After brunch we were waiting for someone to bring us our box of unused umbrellas that we had rushed ordered there because the weather report had changed so much during the week. After waiting for over an hour, we realized we didn't have the top of our cake. Someone in the kitchen told me I could look in the freezer where I saw two identical cake tops not labeled. Some of our guests also had issues with the hotel, which was disappointing. Overall, I think some of the errors that occurred might not have happened if Colleen had been there, but a lot did go wrong, and there was no one there to pick up the pieces.
I am giving 2 starts because the venue is BEAUTIFUL. Other then that they are HORRIBLE!! They do not care about you at all and it is very expensive. You pay a premium price but they do not follow through. The day of my wedding was a HOT MESS. Colleen the wedding "Coordinator" did not even come the rehearsal or the wedding even though when we had our final meeting she said I'd see her why more than I'd like to on my wedding day.. My guest did not get priority of the guandule and there was a bike event they day of my wedding that they did not tell me about. When I ask about it on my wedding day they said it would be long over by my wedding. It was not. The mountain was filled with bikers and my father even got hit with one right before he walked my down the aisle. He had a big tire mark right down his leg on his black tux. They will tell you everything you want to here right up until the day of your wedding but wont follow through on anything. I have been trying to contact the Events manager but he is never in the office and calls back late in the afternoons on weekends and takes days if not weeks to return calls. I Have yet to speak with him but they don't care at all because they got the money. My wedding was beautiful despite the staff and broken promises but I am in no way happy with the venue.
My husband and I were married at Mountain Creek in November and we are so happy with how everything turned out. We would highly recommend this venue! It has been over a month since our wedding day and our guests are still raving about the delicious food, beautiful venue, and incredible staff. Everyone we worked with went above and beyond to make sure that our day was perfect, and it truly was. I have to give a special shout out to Linda, the maitre d', who was absolutely wonderful! She really went out of her way to take care of all our needs and was so sweet to our families, friends, and vendors. We worked primarily with Tori and Connie during the booking and planning process and they were both wonderful! They followed up with us to see if we had any questions and were very responsive. I think it is important to keep in mind that they are juggling multiple weddings at once, but they always got back to us within a timely fashion. Towards the end of the planning process, we had the pleasure of working with Colleen, once she returned from leave. Colleen was professional, organized, and had the best disposition for dealing with nervous brides! Tori, Colleen, and Connie all made a great team and helped keep us enthusiastic and excited about our wedding day. Our actual wedding day, although colder than we would have liked, went perfectly. Any little issue that came up was handled by Colleen, Connie, or Linda and we never had to worry about a thing. While we chose Mountain Creek because of the beautiful venue, the incredible staff is what made our wedding day so spectacular. It truly was a magical place to have our wedding!
Mountain Creek was everything we could have ever wanted and more in a wedding venue. The coordination of the entire day was seamless and effortless on our part. Each member of their team ensured that every part ran smoothly. The view from the mountaintop is breathtaking, and the ambiance inside the lodge cannot be beat. The hotel is attached to the reception area which allowed guests to easily shuffle back and forth to their rooms if need be. Even the older, less mobile folks in attendance were able to ride the gondola and take in the ceremony. The food was outstanding during both the cocktail hour and reception, and the fire pit outside provided a perfect getaway spot. I highly recommend Mountain Creek to anyone looking for a mountain/woods/outdoor type of wedding. You will certainly not be disappointed in your choice.
I am not the type of person to write a terrible review but I want other people to know the truth. The wedding venue itself is absolutely beautiful if you are looking to have a rustic wedding however the food as well as the wedding coordinators are HORRIBLE. The lack of communication with the wedding coordinators is unreal. There was one lady who was out on maternity leave and no one bothered to tell me she was out of office. I had many issues trying to get in contact with the coordinators through email or phone call and no one would answer me and get back to me days later. There was even one instance I got an email from one of the wedding coordinators cancelling my appointment to meet with them. I live 50 minutes away from Mountain Creek and I got an email canceling my appointment rather than a phone call...very unprofessional. My final invoice got messed up multiple times causing much stress for my husband and I. The wedding coordinators do not communicate with each other or review their work before sending it out to their clients. I also had personal items that were left in the bridal suite the day of my wedding that I later found out were thrown out in the trash. One of the coordinators didn’t even show up on my wedding day. On the other hand Linda the Maitre D was incredible!!!! She was the only person at Mountain Creek who did her job. She went above and beyond for my husband and I as well as the bridal party to make sure everyone was okay. She deserves the most credit for making my wedding so special and if it wasn’t for her I would have cancelled my wedding at Mountain Creek. It’s not worth spending the money on the beautiful view because the wedding planning process with the wedding coordinators is awful and they are not qualified to do their job.
A week after our wedding at Mountain Creek and we still cannot stop talking about how amazing everything was. From the beginning meeting with Tori, through working with Connie and Colleen throughout our engagement... all of our questions were answered and we felt well taken care of. The day of everything went smoothly- in big part due to our amazing maitre'd Linda, and the wedding coordinators. They were extremely attentive to us as the bride and groom, and we heard nothing but good things from our guests as well. There is nothing comparable to getting married at top of the mountain and the food was amazing, especially the wedding cake from Cafe Perriot. Wish we could live this day over again and again!
This was my granddaughter 's wedding. It was GREAT. All the workers were helpful and very good. The food was good and the whole venue was amazing. Thank you for making this a wonderful day.
My Husband and I just got married at Mountain Creek and it was amazing. When we went to visit the venue we fell in love right away and didn’t bother to even go look at any others! Tori was amazing and so helpful with everything ... after Tori, Colleen took over and she was absolutely incredible!! All of the staff was actually amazing! Not one complaint at all they go above and beyond and all of our guest were extremely pleased. The food was the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding we couldn’t even choose which ones to pick !! The rooms were beautiful for the guest to stay in and very affordable. I would recommend anyone looking for a beautiful rustic wedding to go here! Also we got married on the mountain top and our guests were so excited to ride the gondola to the top of the mountain! Everything was so unique and amazing!
My husband and I got married here this weekend and it was just AMAZING! I literally have no complaints. They accommodated us in every way. Connie and Colleen were amazing to work with and were so attentive. Food was delicious, the Mountain View was incredible, and all of our guests were raving. We had a little bit of a line build up at the bar and after speaking to Linda, our Maitre D, she went behind the bar to help sling drinks. Everyone went above and beyond and it truly was the best day ever.
When I picked mountain creek as my venue two years ago I had no idea just how amazing and magical last night would be. From the very beginning we were awed at the amazing mountain top ceremony (everyone cried when I walked down the isle, including my new husband) along the way Tori, Colleen, Connie and Linda were super stars! They made sure all of my crazy last minute bridal questions were answered and went above and beyond.
I have been married for less than 24 hours and have received hundreds of texts gushing over the location, weather, decorations, food (the food was amazing! And they accommodated my vegan guests easily!), everything was absolutely perfect. My guests also loved the rooms and had excellent service throughout their stay.
10/10 all day. Those woman are superstars and they gave me and my husband the best weekend of our lives and we will never forget it!
We are already talking about going back for the anniversary! Thank you so much Tori, Colleen, Connie,Linda and mountain creek for an amazing wedding!
I cannot express how pleased we were with Mountain Creek and our wedding reception. The day flowed extremely smoothly, we felt so relaxed from the moment we arrived and took mountain top pictures through the meal and the end of the night. We were stoked about the decor- the staff did a great job at filling in our decorations to fit the vibe we were looking for. The guests raved about the food, having somewhere to spend the night right there, and the overall fun atmosphere with the mountain bikers and waterpark nearby. They even accommodated our bounce castle! The morning after breakfast was lovely too. We highly recommend!
If possible, I would give 3.5 stars. I will start off with the actual venue and space itself which is stunning. The ceremony at the top of the mountain is definitely a wow factor for guests. The reception room is beautiful and perfect to accommodate a large guest count. The cocktail space is so gorgeous it was definitely my favorite space. The food is phenomenal, I only wish I had eaten more! I loved having the hotel on site so no one had to worry about driving after the reception and we could continue the festivities into the early hours of the morning.
The major issue I had with the venue was communication. Had there been clear and consistent communication, I would have given a 5 star rate because everything else was absolutely wonderful. I had signed the contract at the end of 2017 and was working with the original coordinator on site to plan details. About a year later, which happened to be about 7 months from our wedding date, an additional coordinator was brought on which I assumed was just to help the current coordinator. I was completely unaware that the original coordinator we worked with was pregnant and going to be on maternity leave starting two weeks before our wedding date. I only found out when I sent an email with a question for headcount and received a kickback OOO email. This is the moment when things started to slip through the cracks. There were errors made on our final invoice and the staff was very difficult to get in touch with to discuss these errors before cutting the final payment. This also resulted in missed dessert items that were already purchased and paid for which was not discovered until the final hours of the reception when these things should have been offered. Needless to say, we were not happy about this but what could be done since we were almost finished with the evening. Our cake was also not ordered correctly and therefore we were unable to take our topper home with us.
The staff at Mountain Creek did order a new one for us as soon as we reached out about this. The staff has also worked with us to compensate for the missed items that were paid for.
All I will say is make sure you are very, very clear with everything in the contract and what you are looking for. Double check that everything is accounted for weeks before your wedding date, and thoroughly review the final invoice. Try to get this a few days before the invoice is due so you have time to reach out and get in contact with the office. Besides the communication issue, this is a beautiful location with amazing food.
My son and his fiancé were just married here. It was a terrible experience. The staff were very unorganized, rude, the air conditioning was not working correctly. Everyone was sweating and complaining about the lack of A/C. It was cooler outside than inside the reception. Before and after the wedding while we were waiting for pictures, there were no beverages available for the bridal party. We were told if we wanted something to drink we could walk next door and buy it (it was raining out). During the reception they closed down multiple bars, they ran out of some of our alcohol selections. At the end of the reception during last call they refused to serve the last few people in line. The mountains are beautiful and the food was great but the venue, staff, and disorganization is awful! There is only one restaurant on site and it only has outdoor seating.
This venue was so beautiful for our early summer wedding! We loved that the hotel was on site--it made travel arrangements that much easier for our guests. The food was delicious, all of our guests were raving about it afterwards. Connie, our wedding coordinator and Linda, our maitre'd, made sure that everything ran smoothly and on schedule on the day of.
There are no negative things I could say about the staff at Mountain Creek Resort! From our meeting with Tori, I could tell that she was genuinely excited for my fiancé and I to tie the knot. She was extremely personable and knowledgeable of the venue and was able to answer every single question. She displayed such a sense of professionalism! My fiancé and I are getting married at this beautiful mountain resort in one year and we could not be more excited!
This venue is absolutely beautiful. We were so lucky to have great weather on our wedding day because we were able to have our ceremony on top of the mountain and the views were absolutely spectacular. The space in the lodge was amazing. We had 140 people and there was so much room to move around comfortably. The food was absolutely amazing and the cake from Cafe Pierrot was great (and included!)
I would give this venue 5 stars but the communication was not that great, which made it very stressful for me since I was planning my wedding myself. Our original coordinator was having a family emergency which I understand, but I felt that the other staff should have stepped in for her earlier on. I didn't have my final seating chart sent to me until a couple days before the event and the final details meeting we had to fight to get an appointment. The slideshow we wanted to play somehow got lost in translation and never was set up.
On a positive note since I work in a florist, I designed my own arrangements and I was able to set up my arrangements the night before in the lodge which was a huge help and I am so thankful for! On our wedding day, Tori and Connie were amazing and made everything perfect and relaxing. They really took care of me, my wedding party, and family. The bridal suite was absolutely gorgeous! The way they decorated the room was absolutely perfect. During the whole time, I couldn't have asked for a better time.
If I could do it over, I would definitely have my wedding here again. I think I may have had some unlucky timing with the communication, but other than that our wedding day was absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better day.
This venue was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and breathtaking!!! All of our guests raved about how unique it was from the traditional wedding "ballroom" . Perfect setting for a rustic themed wedding like ours!
CONS: wedding coordinators are really friendly and helpful, just a bit hard to get a hold of sometimes whether its via email / phone. They were really great to work with overall though! The maitre d', however was actually pretty rude to some of my guests and bridesmaids which wasn't appreciated. That didn't stop us from having an unforgettable night! Just a minor annoyance
Our wedding was truly such a unique experience not only for us, but for all our guests. We booked Mountain Creek for the ceremony space at the top of the mountain and it was the best decision we ever made! That space is truly a magical - the views, the gondola ride up and the well-kept grounds made it perfect. When we met with Colleen to drop off all our decorations, she was attentive and made sure everything was where it needed to be. I knew going into my wedding day that I did not have to worry about anything. I provided Colleen with a list of all my vendors and she took it from there. I highly recommend booking Mountain and Creek and using Colleen!
As for the food - it exceeded my expectations! I was not sure how a ski resort was going to deliver such high quality food - but they did! Our guests were raving about it days later. If you are looking for a unique venue that can still handle the operations of a wedding (without the big ballroom/catering hall feel) look no further and book this place!

Thank you so much for your kind words above! We are so happy to hear that your wedding day was everything you dreamed it to be. Thank you for allowing all of us at Mountain Creek be such a huge part of your big day. Hearing our coordina...
tor Colleen made it that much better is the reason why we love what we do! Wishing both of you the best on this next chapter together !
If I could provide zero stars I would. If your reason for having your ceremony here is the view at the top of the mountain don't do it. The wedding coordinators were unresponsive and actually caused me so much stress on my wedding day that they caused me to cry. Their contracts are poorly written and leave you uninformed. They did not deliver food needed for people with allergies and did not provide all of the food included in the after party boardwalk package which we paid an extra $1200 for. Their staff made extensive noise during my vows ruining my ceremony and the video of my ceremony. After the event I was told all of my decor would be held for pick up that week. I made a note of what was left behind and that I would be there in 4 days to retrieve it. I got there and no one knew where my decor was and then I was informed that it was THROWN AWAY. No one reached out to me about it prior to throwing it away and in fact I emailed colleen to make sure it wasn't lost or disposed of. None of the staff communicates and both wedding coordinators are unqualified (tori was a manager of the beer garden before being a coordinator). When requesting a refund for the missing food, decor, and noise disruption as well as the cancellation of the outdoor ceremony (the lifts could not provide access due to weather and we were not informed of this until the morning of), we are still met with the run around. I have had to obtain an attorney to rectify the situation and they still lie about the status of the refund. I was told I would have a check and weeks later I am still chasing them down. I am sure others have had great experiences because the weather cooperated on their day but keep in mind that if ANYTHING doesn't go according to plan you will be met with a chaotic planner who will stress you out even further and will need to fight tooth and nail to receive the compensation you are entitled to. It is a shame that my wedding day is now marked with this frustration and anger. When I look back on it I think, I wish I had chosen a different venue.
Response from the Vendor on 10/18/2018
Sheryl,
We are very sorry that you feel this way. While we do our best to make sure that every wedding day is perfect, there are times when things do go awry. It’s no secret the weather in the Northeast has been a rollercoaster ride over the ...
past few months and for this reason we do stipulate clearly in our contract our policy on refunding the cost for the Mountain Top ceremony should there be a weather event. If the bride and groom decide to go for it even if there is a threat of bad weather, the resort does have final say based on the safety of our guests. We do apologize for the two gluten free cupcakes that were not provided for the guests with allergy needs. They were not on the event order that you had signed before your wedding and thus were not confirmed. We also apologize for the fried oreos that were neglected at your afterparty. Admittedly, there was a miscommunication in the kitchen, however the four other items on the menu were represented in abundance. All in all, we feel that we have done our best to rectify and make up for any short comings that occurred on your wedding day. There were never any lies about the status of the refund. It was slated to be mailed the day we received notice from your attorney, which was within the 7-10 business days from the time we agreed upon the refund. Your notice caused further delay for us to respond, but no hard feelings. We wish you and your husband a happy life together. We were happy to share the day with you. If you would like to discuss any of these items further, we’re happy to set up an appointment.
Sincerely,
Josh Bernstein
Our personalized wedding truly reflected my husband and I and it is thanks to the wedding coordinators, Colleen and Tori. Both are incredibly talented and creative in the art of weddings. They genuinely cared about our wedding, and wanted it to be the best day ever. The coordinators have an eye for what is romantic and beautiful and a way of understanding your inspirations and turning them into a reality on the biggest day of your life.
Ryan and I grew up at Mountain Creek, it was the perfect fit for us. With the amazing mountain top ceremony and the natural rustic elegance of the lodge we couldn't wait to say I do. Colleen and Tori became our best friends during the planning process. They were always there to answer any questions or concerns we had.
Ryan and I created about 50 dream catchers to hang in the lodge. Colleen spent hours helping us to hang them so they were perfect. We had more than one meeting to adjust them and she even helped put them together for us. I was so glad that she recommended trying them out a month before the wedding so that I would not worry about them and focus on any other last minute needs. Colleen spent more time working with us than any wedding coordinator should. We couldn't have asked for a more attentive coordinator, Maitr d, artist, therapist, and friend to help guide us through our wedding.
We hosted a welcome party at the water park the day of the rehearsal which everyone loved! We had so many friends and family staying at the Appalachian, it was a great way to kick off the weekend. I do wish that MC would offer wedding guests special pricing or coupons to try out their accomodations. Our out of town guests would have loved to try TreEscape or do a round of golf. The hotel is beautiful and wasn't too expensive for our guests, however some had a very difficult time reaching the hotel to make their reservations.
We were so lucky to have the most amazing weather on our day. When we booked the outdoor ceremony for a July wedding there was always the worry of rain or extreme heat. We had fans for programs and Mountain Creek set up a refreshment stand to make sure all guests were comfortable and hydrated. Our ceremony was at 5:30 so almost all guests were in the shade, and the top of the mountain was 10-15 degrees cooler, making it a beautiful 65 degrees.
The food was absolutely incredible! We had filet mignon and Chilean sea bass, both of which got rave reviews from all of our guests. We honestly have never had such great food at a wedding. During the entire wedding there was never a line at the bar, which is amazing considering how much everyone drank that night! It was a blast doing shotskis at the afterparty!
Tori and the hotel staff set up a pool party the day after the wedding as a farewell. They went above and beyond to make it beautiful and had plenty of tables and seating for the large amount that attended. It was a great way to spend extra time with family and relish in the night before. The farewell party was so much more than we ever thought, again, the coordinating team has an artistic eye for elegance.
Colleen and Tori worked so hard to make our wedding more than we ever could have imagined. The most common compliment we received was that we had thought of everything and it was so completely Heidi and Ryan. The best part was, we only had a few ideas and a vision, Colleen and Tori took care of all the details that truly made our wedding perfectly us.
Our wedding experience was amazing!!! Our wedding weekend and especially wedding day was absolutely perfect!! The venue is so beautiful and the best thing about it, everything is right there! It was extremely convenient for planning purposes with the rehearsal dinner, hotel, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party. There were no worries about travel plans at all!! The ceremony at the top of the mountain is truly phenomenal, there’s nothing like it. All of our guests, even those who we’re initially wary about heights, had such a fun experience traveling up the gondola for the ceremony. They allowed us to customize our menu to fit us; they allowed us to bring in any decor/game/activity we wanted (we handmade giant jenga and cornhole for the cocktail hour); the staff worked their buts off all day and night for us to have an amazing experience. We even had our welcome party at the water park- such a fun and exciting way to start the wedding weekend! My only reason for not giving the full 5 stars, is we had some difficulty with communication throughout the year prior to our wedding. We had to reach out multiple times through multiple different means of communication to get a response. That was the one and only frustration. A big frustration, yes. But would I still do it again at Mountain Creek, absolutely. I would definitely recommend Mountain Creek as a wedding venue for anyone who is looking to make their wedding fun, personal, and different. We had an amazing weekend!
There are not enough words to describe how pleased we are about our wedding. From the day we toured it with Tori, to the 18 months spent planning after we booked, to the actual day of. Everything turned out perfectly.
We got married on May 26, 2018. But we booked in December 2016. So it was long haul of planning and Colleen Clark, the event coordinator, was by our side from day one. She and I must have sent a million and one emails back and forth together and she always assisted me in my weekly dilemmas. And trust me, there was a lot. Between having to find a new rehearsal dinner space to putting the wrong address on the invitations to constantly worrying about the weather leading up to the wedding, she went above and beyond to reassure us that our day was going to be perfect.
We also DIY'd our decorations and on the day of, Colleen helped a ton and helped make our ceremony and reception as beautiful as we dreamed it to be.
The food was also amazing! Our guests are still talking about the mushroom ravioli on truffle sauce!
So thankful for everyone that helped make our day perfect! This is an amazing venue, look no further!
My husband and I searched up and down NJ to find something different from the 10s of weddings we have attended. We came across Mountains creek on the knot and had to check it out. We immediately loved the mountain top ceremony space, gondola and the fact that the hotel was attached for all of our guests. The space itself was like a blank canvas for me to decorate exactly how I wanted! Colleen and Tori were both a dream to work with. They were hands on from the first viewing of the space and spent hours with my husband and I talking through all of our options and all questions we had throughout the year.
Our wedding day went perfect! We had 240 guests and never had a line at the bar. This was huge for my husband and I as we wanted to host a huge party! The staff on our wedding day was a dream from the woman serving us breakfast in our suite as we got ready to the bartenders at the after party. Our guests are still talking about the gondola rides and ceremony at the top of the mountain 5 months later!
Thank you Tori and Colleen for everything!!
Lyndsey and Dave
There are not enough words to describe the fabulous job Mountain Creek Resort did with our wedding day. We knew we wanted something different and outdoors for our day and from day one Tori and Colleen were friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and extremely helpful from our first tour of Red Tail Lodge to the day after the wedding when leaving the hotel. They took into consideration our wants, needs and ideas and proposed all possible options and how we could incorporate them. Tori, Colleen and the Mountain Creek Resort staff made our wedding planning an easy, non stressful process by having the food and cake made on site and even recommending the majority of our vendors such as photographers, hair stylists, makeup artists and even local delis and bagel shops for our traveling guests. All Mountain Creek Resort staff were attentive and welcoming throughout our on site getting ready morning, mountaintop ceremony, red tail lodge reception and on site after party. Everyone was professional, the food was amazing and the venue was exactly what we pictured for our wedding. Thank you all so much for everything you have done for us, and a special, huge thanks to Tori and Colleen for your above and beyond job with our wedding. See you on the mountain!

My husband and I got married at Mountain Creek on September 29 and it was PERFECT. From the venue, to the staff, to the weather, we could not have asked for anything better! When we first booked Mountain Creek, Tori, one of the wedding coordinators was so great, gave us a detailed tour of the whole property. We then met with Colleen who was with us every step of the way including the entire wedding day! She made the day seamless and made sure every request and detail was not forgotten. She even checked in on us the next morning at breakfast! It was such an experience to have all of our family and friends take the gondola up to the top of the mountain, they all couldn't stop talking about it!
It was everything we could have wanted plus more! Thank you Mountain Creek & the staff for a day we will never forget.
BTW-the pictures from the top of the mountain are INCREDIBLE!
My wife and I knew we wanted a rustic type wedding once we became engaged. After visiting other venues in the area and being unimpressed, we decided to check Mountain Creek. We had no expectations walking into the Red Tail Lodge, but we were blown away at the transformation Mountain Creek undergoes to go from Ski Lodge to wedding venue.
Tori Pinto and Colleen Clark showed us around the entire property: from the Crow's Nest, to the main ballroom, to the bar Schuss upstairs, and even into the Appalachian where our guests would be staying. They answered every question we had with great professionalism and detail.
We decided to book the venue because a date we preferred was available and most importantly, the price was right!
Fast forward to our wedding day. The weather was beautiful and we opted for the mountaintop ceremony. Each of our guests took the gondola ride from the bottom of the mountain to the top. The six minute ride is absolutely breathtaking - you can be sure that none of your guests will have had this experience before, nor will they ever have it again. The view from the top was stunning, just like my bride. The guests made their way down the mountain to the cocktail hour at the Crow’s Nest. The decor in the Crow’s Nest was so unique and rustic. Antlers hanging from the ceiling, a large fire place, high backed chairs and vintage looking wood to make the guests feel like kings and queens. The food was just as exceptional as the decor. We received compliments at the wedding and even for weeks afterwards about how great the food was. On to the reception! The reception room was a super large space. Other venues make you feel crammed inside with nowhere to go. The Red Tail Lodge was so spacious that our guests had the option to hang at their table, outside by the firepits, by the bar or lounge area. The party was rockin’ and the bartenders were swirling out drinks like sorcerers and sorceresses. Everyone had a fantastic time and the party continued upstairs at Schuss. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day and we are so thankful that we chose Mountain Creek as our wedding venue!
We must commend the staff at Mountain Creek, as well as the Appalachian. The day of the wedding, EVERYTHING was taken care of by Colleen. From coordinating our first look, to making sure the bride and bridesmaids were taken care of, to the groom and groomsman being looked after, and even fetching my guitar to surprise my wife right before the cutting of the cake. There was also the banquet manager, Vicky, who helped out as well throughout the day. We also want to mention Jeff and his crew at the Appalachian as they were there to kindly help our guests as they checked in. They were also there to accommodate my bride’s grandfather throughout the day to ensure he made it safely throughout the grounds in his wheelchair.
In conclusion, choosing Mountain Creek for a wedding was the best decision we have ever made. We couldn’t imagine our day going any better than it did. The location, the staff, the food, the party, the drinks; the list could go on forever. Everything was simply fantastic!
As the father of the Bride, I have to commend Colleen Clark on her professionalism and her ability to make us feel at ease. From the moment we met her and her team, until our daughter and now son......in-law wed. Colleen and team, you rocked it! Thank you!!
I wish we could relive our wedding day over and over and over again! It was better than we could have ever imagined! As soon as we set foot on the resort, we knew this is where we had to get married. The room is so big and still feels so welcoming and comfortable. The rustic decor at the venue is beautiful so we appreciated not needing to go overboard with flowers. We were lucky enough to have a mountaintop ceremony and were blessed with the most perfect day of the year. Our guests were really excited to ride up the gondola and the view at the top was breathtaking. Our guests raved about the food and nobody went home hungry. It was super convenient to have hotel accommodations on site and we were able to keep the party going well into the night. Colleen and her team went above and beyond and we couldn't be more grateful for her professionalism and ability to take our ideas and turn them into exactly what we had hoped for. You seriously can't go wrong with this venue. It was perfection.
OUR DREAM WEDDING VENUE!!! Absolutely everything about getting married at Mountain Creek was above and beyond what we hoped for. They have a new, stunning mountaintop ceremony space with magical views. The cocktail hour space is AWESOME with a huge fireplace, the most epic chairs and tables ever, a sweet bar and so many more cool features. The reception space has huge ceilings, beautiful wooden beams and decorative woodsy chandeliers, giant windows looking up the mountain, and plenty of space for weddings of all sizes. If you love nature you will fall in love with this place. My coordinator Colleen is THE BEST!!! Her excitement, personality, determination to make a perfect wedding happen, and all of her help along the way is something I will always be incredibly grateful for. We love her so much. And Tori who showed us the venue and got us all set up, plus helped out day-of and random times throughout is also incredible!!! Truly, the Mountain Creek staff is perfection. Even Jen who I hadn't met before the wedding day but was there being tremendously helpful throughout our big day was amazing! And that's not all - the hotel is another wow, being attached to the venue is beyond convenient. But it's not at all getting married in a hotel, they just happen to be next to each other to make your day extra easy. No need to spend money on transportation. Plus the rooms are gorgeous and have their own charm. AND they have the coolest game rooms and pool/jacuzzi ANDD the prices are the best we had seen! You really can't ask for more. We are glowing from our experience with Mountain Creek and hope others get married there to experience the same happiness as we have. Thank you so so much to everyone at Mountain Creek, we love you forever!!
My husband and I got married at Mountain Creek on October 1, 2016. When we first walked into the venue, we were taken back by the beauty your venue had to offer. The minute we walked into the reception space, we knew this was where we needed to have our wedding. It truly encompassed who we were as a couple.
Everything from the pre-wedding planning, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and our wedding was absolutely perfect. Tori and Colleen were so incredibly understanding and accommodating to us. They listened to our requests and tried to find the best possible way to address them, and they did! They were always so easy to reach and responded back to us in a timely fashion.
Your ceremony location, at the top of the mountain was absolutely breathtaking, and though we were not able to our ceremony there it was a major selling point for us. Due to the weather conditions, we had to have our ceremony indoors which was absolutely spectacular. For us, it was a bonus to have the option to have the outdoor ceremony space. The staff was even able to turn the ceremony space over to the reception space for 250 people with ease!
The cocktail hour was incredible. The food was absolutely amazing. A month after our wedding, we still have people raving about the food and the abundance of food we had. They couldn't believe the spread that was put out. We were a little nervous that the space would be tight for 250 people, but it was more than accommodating for our large head count.
Your staff turned the reception space so quickly I couldn't believe we had a ceremony in the space. Ours guest couldn't believe how attentive and professional the serving staff was as well. They were so blown away by the service staff that som
