Mountain Laurel Catering & Events

for our wedding meal and landed on the idea of tacos. Mountain Laurel made our vision come to life. They created a taco and fajita bar for us with selected meats and so many different toppings. The tacos were phenomenal. Our appetizers were also to die for. Grilled cheese and tomato bisque shooters, caprese flatbread, and a charcuterie board. We also chose to get our cutting cake and desserts from them and they were all delicious. The bar service was great too, especially considering we had a large crowd. Mountain Laurel was also helpful in choosing and setting up our China and linens which looked fantastic! We have received so many compliments on our food since the wedding. We have zero regrets about choosing Mountain Laurel as our caterer and would recommend them to anyone!

ountless comments after the wedding about how amazing the food was, how perfect the portion sizes were (not too big that you were tired but not too small that you were left hungry), how friendly and accommodating the wait and bar staff were, our guests couldn’t get enough! We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to actually eat our meal during the wedding and all I have to say is that whether you are vegetarian or not, the polenta is a must try item. Jes was so kind and helped us through table setting discussions and helping my aunt with the cake set up the day of. It was so special that we were able to include my aunt (who is not a professional baker) in our wedding in that way and MLC made that seamless. The french fry bar was amazing at the end of the night and the appetizers were delicious. I love that MLC took the initiative to bring us some snacks right after the ceremony while we were taking pictures so no one got cranky. I could go on for days but there is a word count. If you are on the fence about MLC, we would say take the leap, you won’t be disappointed. During our tasting everyone was so nice and the excitement of wedding planning finally started to set in. On the day of our wedding, everything was perfect. The linens were exactly what we imagined and the FOOD!! My biggest wedding regret is that I could not eat more. All of our guests have been raving about the food and desserts for weeks. The bartenders had such a great energy and our guests commented on how funny they were. We had buffet style entrees, but the staff made sure to serve my husband and I at our sweetheart table and they were so sweet. I absolutely cannot recommend MLC enough!!

Ally worked with my now husband and I to curate a menu throughout the day that was true to who we are — including the ordering and managing of all tabletop rentals. She was/is a rockstar and made something pretty stressful seem very manageable. Our guests RAVED about the food — and these were/are some very picky New Yorkers. MLC will truly bring your vision to life — whether you need Italian hoagies for a sentimental family moment, a cannoli-inspired dessert, a purple birthday cake for a family member, or a robust list of specialty cocktails. If you book MLC, make sure to include their pierogies at cocktail hour! They’re out of this world. MLC was the first vendor we booked after reading some rave reviews and they did not disappoint. From the first phone call, to our tasting, to the day-of — they did everything they could to make sure we were heard, and that our wishes — no matter how wild — became reality.

I had multiple issues last minute during my wedding month with guests dropping out of the wedding and they always were there to help me, and always were flexible with me allowing my day to be a success. All of my guests raved about their food, their incredible bartenders and drink service. Everyone said that they never were waiting for food and nobody left hungry! They brought trays of food for my husband and I and we never felt underfed ourselves throughout our wedding day. They are an incredible company and I would recommend them to anyone!

ng for a caterer, we wanted to make sure that we did not have the “typical” wedding food. We wanted people to be full and satisfied when hitting the dance floor. Mountain Laurel knew exactly how to do that. All of our guests were amazed with the different entree options that they had - the Short Ribs are still being talked about in households up and down the east coast. Everyone tells you to remember to eat on your wedding day and Mountain Laurel made sure of that! They brought us our own separate tray of hors d'oeuvres that we ate before meeting our guests in cocktail hour. When it came to dinner, they made sure that we had our meals first and kept checking in on us to make sure we were well fed. We are so grateful and happy that mountain laurel was apart of our special day! Jess Moser was amazing through the whole process from start to finish and made sure our vision came true!

The food was incredible!!! Our wedding was about a month ago and guests still tell us how much they loved all of the food at our wedding. We are so thankful for everything they did to make our day amazing, and we can’t recommend them enough!!

They were extremely accommodating to allergies and dietary restrictions as well. I'm vegan as well as a few of our guests and there weren't any problems finding appetizer and meal options in their vast menu to accommodate. As well, they were able to tweak individual plates based on allergies. Our guests really appreciated this. Ally was great to work with. Although some communication took a few days to hear from her (months out from our date not days out), once we heard from her, she was super accommodating with all our requests as we changed the menu more than a few times up until two weeks prior to the wedding. The main problem we had came from the Bartenders. If we could give just the bartenders 0 stars we probably would. We had signature cocktails for our wedding in which we practiced and perfected the recipes at home a dozen times prior to providing them with the recipes. The alcohol quantity we had purchased was based on them following our recipes and using the amount of alcohol per cocktail we had instructed. We did not have liquor available for guests outside of the two cocktails to chose from. The Bartenders decided to use their own recipes and ignore everything we had set out for them. They over poured everything to the point that they ran out of liquor just after dinner service, meaning that guests could not get cocktails following dinner or the rest of the evening. Most of our additional ingredients, however, were returned to us (bitters, simple syrup) as if they hadn't used them at all and just poured straight liquor into our drinks. We also had a few guests tell us that the Bartenders were complaining to them (our guests!) about us and running out of alcohol. It was extremely unprofessional and not something a bride and groom want to hear. We happened to attend a wedding two weeks after ours in which MLC also catered and we saw the same problems from the Bartenders. Their signature cocktails were not executed how intended, the liquor drinks were filled to the brim with liquor with barely a splash of mixer, old fashioneds were made with club soda, and the one male bartender was complaining to us about not knowing how to make the cocktails. If it were possible to have outside bartenders, MLC would be a 5 star vendor. However, our terrible experience with the bartenders brings down their rating in our opinion.

In addition to raving about the incredible service, the food was the talk of the evening. From start to finish every single bite of every single item was phenomenal. We had guests declaring it was not only the best wedding dinner they've ever had, but some of the best food they've ever had, period. We've been getting sweet messages all weekend raving about it and people wishing they could eat their dinners all over again. It was perfect.

But considering that the day was a blur to me and I barely remember eating, what I remembered most was how kind and responsive the staff were, from the moment they got there. We had staff check on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed, and there was so much attention to detail. Overall their entire team was amazing to work with from the day we signed the contract to the end of the wedding day, I honestly could not recommend them enough!

options, hiring MLC to cater our wedding was a no brainer. They are professional but approachable and their food is second to none! Farm to table, fresh and happy to customize however we'd like. We had to reschedule our wedding and when our guest count came up short this past year they worked with us to add in a late night station rather than just paying for meals we didn't need. One of the bartenders created a cocktail that tons of guests were raving about. All in all hiring MLC is money VERY well spent! When we wanted to make changes on it they were always prompt and professional in guiding us with our choices. My biggest rave about them though is how helpful they were on the day of our wedding. The day is so overwhelming and goes by so quickly, but the staff came up to my husband and I so frequently to just check on us. They brought us drinks and did whatever we needed to make our day run more smoothly. Their biggest concern was making sure we were accommodated. We had a few hiccups due to a wind storm right before our ceremony, and the staff was so professional and made all the last minute changes they needed too without making us feel stressed over it.
