idal suite the day of my wedding, as the staff were taking care of everything, including me! I could not imagine being in better hands from start to finish. I would recommend this venue 1,000%! I felt like family was taking care of things!

t was on the morning of the ceremony and they decided it was an amazing time to come to the bride and say that we were short on the payment because more people were on our seating chart than we had paid for. We had told them our number of guests and our number of vendors and they assumed that the vendors were included in the guest number. They didn't ask to confirm or anything. Just marched up to the bride and demanded the rest of the money to the point she started crying. This is unacceptable and it has only made me more mad with every passing retelling of the incident. Absolutely disgusting that there was no communication and confirmation regarding this and they decided to look at the seating chart to double check the day of and when they realized THEIR OWN ERROR they make the star of the day feel less than human and have a panic attack about a few hundred dollars when they already took THOUSANDS from the families for using the venue. Disgusting behavior.

ll experience. While the venue itself is gorgeous and the day went smoothly in terms of the scenery and ceremony, behind-the-scenes issues caused a lot of unnecessary stress. Here are the main concerns we encountered: Decorating – Decorating was halted halfway through so the staff could give someone else a tour, which left us scrambling to finish setting up on time. Cake Serving Utensils – Despite confirming the need for cake serving utensils a week in advance, they were missing when it was time to serve the cake, which was a small but frustrating oversight. Bar Service – The bar was shut down halfway through cocktail hour, which caused confusion among guests who were left without drinks. Food Service – As one of the first in line for food, I was disappointed that my meal wasn’t ready when called. When it finally came, it was cold and not as expected. DJ Set up – Our DJ was told there were no available tables for their equipment, but after a bridesmaid stepped in, one magically appeared. This unnecessary confusion caused delays and added stress. Our vendors also commented to us that out of all times they've been to the venue, they never seen this many issues before. Water Service – Many tables had to ask for water, as it wasn’t provided until guests specifically requested it. This could have been avoided with better preparation. Late to Ceremony – I was almost late to my own ceremony because I had to run down to finish decorating the site. This was a huge stress point that should have been managed better. Pricing Confusion – I was almost charged extra due to updated pricing that changed after I had already booked and paid a deposit. The coordinator did help fix this, but I was told this issue happens frequently and is corrected on a case-by-case basis. Coordinator Absence – The coordinators left partway through the evening, leaving us with teenage staff who couldn’t properly answer many of our questions or address our concerns. This created confusion and lack of support during key moments of the reception. Glass Wall Issues – We were told that the glass walls could be opened, but when we tried to have them opened for the reception, we couldn’t find the coordinators to help. This meant we missed out on what could have been a beautiful feature for our celebration. Cake Handling – My cake box was thrown away, and the cake wasn’t refrigerated as promised. As a result, the cake melted a bit, making it difficult to transport home and leaving us disappointed in how it was handled. Overall, while the venue itself is beautiful, the lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and disorganization by the staff significantly impacted our wedding day. I’d recommend prospective couples carefully monitor every detail and have backup plans in place for issues that may arise, as the management seemed unprepared to handle some of the basics.

service was wonderful the day of the wedding all guests were taken care of getting from cars to doors with the rain. Everything looked beautiful. The facility and grounds are magnificent. It is the best wedding venue in Schuylkill County.

. The staff was amazing, they do set up and clean up for you, the food was great, and the bridal suite is perfect. They truly made our day everything we had hoped it would be. You can decorate essentially however you wish to, and they have great ideas & things you can use if you want to save some money.

the day perfect and run smoothly. When lunch for one of my bridesmaids didn't work out, Nancy helped us get her a lunch from the kitchen. It was such a relief to show up on my wedding day and know that Nancy and Shannon had everything handled. They helped setup and take down all our decorations. I cannot recommend this venue enough. The outside ceremony location is incredible with gorgeous views.

they were never too busy to answer any questions we had, and were incredibly kind and patient. The whole team at Mountain Valley was incredibly efficient with setting up & tearing down the reception space (we barely had to do any repacking of our decor– they got it all done during the last dances and send-off), service was seamless during the buffet, and there was always someone to drive people via golf cart from the reception space to the ceremony space during our setup. When we forgot a cake stand, they went above any beyond to try and find something that would work for us! The bridal suite area was incredibly spacious, and there was more than enough room for nine of us to get ready the morning of. I cannot speak more highly about the level of attention and care provided by Nancy, Shannon, and the whole Mountain Valley Golf team.

s able to set up an appointment to tour and meet with Nancy within a few days. When we met with Nancy and toured the venue, which was set up for a wedding later that day, we knew immediately it was the perfect place. Communication with Nancy and Shannon, who I met at the taste testing, was always smooth. If they didn't have an answer, they let me know and always got back as soon as they possibly could. There's always this thought that the food at wedding venues isn't meant to be good, but I can honestly not say that of Mountain Valley; it was delicious. Every single thing about working with Shannon and Nancy and everyone at Mountain Valley was seamless. They took great care of the bridal party as we got dressed and wow! What a great job decorating... it was truly something from a dream. Thank you all for making our wedding perfect!!

ly helpful every step of the way. The ceremony site was perfect and the view over Locust Lake was a wonderful back drop. The cocktail hour and reception site were modern, spacious and our guests loved it! The food was 10/10 (we had the short ribs, chicken francese and penne with vodka sauce). Our guests only complaint was that they wanted more of it because it was so delicious! We had some inclimate weather happen between our ceremony and reception. It was a challenging time as we tried to take pictures during our cocktail hour. The wedding coordinators and staff were incredibly accommodating and adapted to our situation. They entertained our guests and did not let us worry about anything as they handled the situation beautifully. A very special shout out to Gorilla, the true “Jack of all trades” for Mountain Valley. Not only did he shuttle our guests to and from the hotel all night, he took care of all of our elderly guests with golf carts. He was the best during our pictures as he escorted us around, provided us props for our pictures, held the veil, gave a signature Gorilla “dress throw” and even delivered our cake to the hotel hours after being off the clock. He is an incredible asset to Mountain Valley and he made our wedding day truly memorable.

was where we wanted to celebrate our big day. The upstairs bridal suite is spacious and provides all the amenities to have outside hair and makeup team provide services. The cocktail hour was our favorite choosing several delicious served apps, artisanal station and the crowd favorite Mac and cheese station! The wedding team ensured our decor vision came to life, as well as always being two steps ahead of what needed to come next to ensure every guest had a wonderful experience. The day was perfect from start to finish. A big thank you to Mt. Valley!

ey had a cancellation 2 months away - Halloween weekend that was also the final peak of fall foliage. Having only 2 months had its challenges but Nancy Brill and Stephanie and their staff made everything possible and run even more smoothly than imagined. The venue has a stunning deck for views, cigar bar area and open space with a bar. We needed only one bar and they were well staffed, kept up with demand and we went with the open bar with requested premium choices. No one left unhappy. The staff allowed us to add lots of extras without extra charges (paid separately) including DJ with a drone, poker/blackjack tables (no cash), cigar bar area, added lighting, gathering table, dessert bar and over the top decorations for Gatsby theme. We were allowed access to building entire day to allow easy set up. The second floor suite was a bonus and gave girls place to get ready, including hair, and change twice! We also appreciated the coordination and convenience of the Comfort Inn and included shuttle so guests could enjoy without worrying about driving and navigation. We added to their fun with local tours of Yuengling Brewery and 2 different coal mines. Their package included golf, added treats for bridal party, and all the table setting details. Their food selections are suitable for both casual outdoor style gatherings as well as high quality dressy events. We did both, casual for rehearsal dinner and full courses, sit down for wedding. The staff was attentive and professional for both events. What was impressive was how smoothly everything went because Nancy was on top of even the smallest details. We both agreed that there was nothing we would have changed and would do it again- even the 2 month timeline! Definitely a 5 star venue!!

We went with the chicken francese, filet mignon, and penne alla vodka with green beans and roasted potatoes. I wouldn’t change our meals, they were great! My chicken and green beans were cooked perfectly! We had the former coordinator for the first 7 months of our planning. We found out she left and a lot of our details were not documented. This was very frustrating and scary, but coordinators change and it’s not the current staff’s fault. Make sure you get details in writing. With that said, Nancy and Shannon were great! Nancy honored details such as our ceremony start time, rehearsal dinner (highly recommend!), and we did not get charged the sparkler fee because that was a new change after our contract. Nancy and Shannon worked with our odd preferences such as served coffee and cake and bar open during dinner (added fee). We had a few sober groomsmen and Nancy picked up on this at our rehearsal dinner. She offered them NA beers that they had left over from another event and even offered to go on her own time to pick up more NA beer for them for the wedding since we weren’t from the area so they had something to drink- thank you for taking care of our guys!! There was a wedding the night before, but you would never know, other than the smell of bleach in the morning when we walked in, which tells me it’s clean! Having shuttles and the ability for guests to leave their cars overnight if needed was really appreciated too for safety. A huge shout-out to Frank and Gorilla for driving everyone around and making sure our guests were safe! Hotel: We used the Comfort Inn & Suites down the road for our block and after party and it was great! Rehearsal/Dinner: Officiants can help with rehearsals, but ours was a friend. Nancy did a great job telling us what to do and when. It was so easy, we were good with one run-through. We booked the overlook pavilion for the rehearsal dinner with a tab bar. They had nice tables with tablecloths set up. The weather was warm, but breezy and the doors were open for a cross breeze that was so nice. Bridal suite: We got shuttled in the morning to get ready and added the continental breakfast and mimosas. Know your timeline and when you need to be downstairs for the shuttle. We also opted for a private cocktail hour after the ceremony in the bridal suite for the bridal party. This was a great time for everyone to cool off, grab some food/drinks, and freshen up before the grand entrances. Bar- We did premium and added the extra hour during dinner. We also got the outside bar. We really didn’t have a large wedding that would call for 2 bars, but it was so nice for guests to be able to go outside and relax instead of just sitting at their table or going back and forth. The outside bar will pull guests outside and possibly away from the dance floor, but I didn’t care. I danced all night and was so happy that we had so many guests enjoying themselves with the great views outside and the cool night breeze. Our guests have been raving about the ceremony view and the ability to relax outside at night and understood why we chose Mountain Valley for our wedding.

I know they were in the process of changing coordinators so I tried not to get upset but it was unneeded added stress. The rehearsal of the wedding was my least favorite thing. The day of coordinator stood off to the side and didn't help at all. Lucky my one bridesmaid does this for a living and stepped in to help. The day of the set up people were amazing and did everything the way I wanted. Shannon did a walk through with me that morning that made me feel at ease. The day of went very smoothly and everyone had a fantastic time. The shuttles were a huge help and the drivers were very sweet. The food quality was good and the wait staff/bartenders were wonderful.

Shannon and Nancy are not only genuinely kind but super accommodating. Shannon spent many hours on the phone with me making sure we had every detail just right. I always felt like I was their top priority even as they were planning many handfuls of weddings. Every single person I spoke to in affiliation with Mountain Valley was so sweet. Our guests had nothing but positive things to say about the venue and the mountain view. That view is absolutely stunning. Breathtaking. The venue is very spacious. It holds up to 300 people. We had around 110 guests which allowed so much space for dancing and mingling without feeling crowded. The bar area is large and nice! The venue leads out to a giant deck that overlooks part of the golf course which also has a bar. We did not have that bar open since it was super cold, but we did put 4 heaters out there to accommodate our guests that wanted to step outside for a moment. The food and drinks were delicious. I had a few guests with dietary restrictions (allergies, non-dairy, vegan, etc.) The coordinators and chef made sure everyone's meal was perfectly tailored to our guests. Let me tell you about the bridal suite at Mountain Valley. GORGEOUS!!! It was the absolute perfect place to get ready. We had 15 women getting ready, 4 ladies doing hair and make-up, a photographer, and a videographer all up there and there was still plenty of room. It never felt like there was a lack of space even with 20+ people. We ordered the continental breakfast while getting ready. It was the perfect touch to help us charge up for the day. From setting up to breakdown Shannon and Nancy took care of everything. They displayed my decorations perfectly and packed everything up in an organized manner. I am so sad that my wedding day is over. It was spent perfectly with friends and family in a gorgeous setting. I wish that I can someday be invited to another wedding at Mountain Valley to have so much fun all over again. Mountain Valley Golf Course will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

ustic barn. My husband convinced me to look at Mountain valley because he wanted to get married where there was a beautiful view. Let me tell you, the first second I saw Mountain Valley I knew I had to get married there. From the ceremony site, to the reception, everything was absolutely perfect. Nancy and Shannon made sure our day went so smoothly and we are so incredibly grateful and thankful. Our guests told us that Mountain Valley was one of the nicest wedding venues they had ever seen. The entire staff is amazing and put up with our rowdy almost 200 guests. No other venue we looked at compared to Mountain Valley when it came to quality for cost. Get married here, I promise you will not regret it! We had an amazing day and will cherish it forever.

n we found out the original wedding coordinator had left a month before our wedding, but Shannon and Nancy stepped in and made sure everything was taken care of. Any questions or concerns we had they were available to answer and assist. Shannon, Nancy, and the wedding team did an amazing job setting everything up and getting everything together at the end of the night. We also really enjoyed being able to have everything at one location to make it easy for our guests. Thank you Mountain Valley for making our day so special!

ethora of issues we had just in the three weeks prior to our wedding. Unfortunately I was over the 3500 word count with all the issues, so I had to make it a bit shorter. It was made to seem like Elaine was incompetent, when it’s obvious from the MANY five star reviews she was anything but. Shannon, the fill in coordinator until the new one started on the 6th, was obviously thrown in with little to no idea what was all included. We were told we didn’t have a hotel room, which was indeed included in our package, we were told our beers were never ordered (LIE), and we had to change two of our appetizers. One wasn’t offered because of covid anymore, but the other was replaced but then still miraculously there wedding day? Only two of our tables got any of the appetizers anyway from what I was told. My mom had to go around and turn the center pieces on, which were supposed to be on when guests got back. Ken, someone high up, had called to apologize for how “terrible” Elaine was with our wedding. And that’s all he did for us was say sorry repeatedly. I had a panic attack and bawled my eyes out because of all the stress these issues caused. Britney that helped with the rehearsal on Saturday was wonderful. She was super sweet. If you’re the new coordinator, I wish you the best of luck.

The reception space is equally as great with all the natural light and access to the outdoor deck. The wedding coordinator, Elaine, is wonderful to work with and helpful from start to finish! The whole team is fabulous and our day could not have been more perfect.

r wedding coordinator, Elaine, was so helpful throughout our whole wedding process. We couldn't have done it without her! She made it possible for us to feel calm and collected on our wedding day. We were confident in her and knew that we wouldn’t have to worry about anything the day of (which was such a relief!). Also, the service that was provided at Mountain Valley was AMAZING. Our wedding guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the venue was and how fantastic the service was at our wedding. The guests were highly impressed with how speedy the service was and how quickly dinner was served. Lastly, the mashed potato bar was a huge hit amongst all of our guests! Everyone thought the idea was so creative (thank you Elaine!) and it was delicious. Overall, we both would HIGHLY recommend Mountain Valley Golf Course to any future couples looking for a wedding venue!

At Mountain Valley, it is clear that Elaine and the team care deeply and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. The bridal suite was beautifully done and provided ample space to get ready in and relax. As for the rehearsal and wedding itself, they went perfectly. Everything was on time, set up perfectly, and the food was delicious. Our guests loved the appetizers and main meal. The ceremony site is beautiful and unique with a scenic mountain overlook in the background. The golf course made for great photo opportunities, and the deck outside the reception hall was perfect for guests to step out and enjoy the weather as the night went on. And the free shuttle service running between the hotel and reception was great. A huge thanks to Elaine, as she provided quick, thorough responses to our countless questions.

Wait staff was efficient and great. The day was perfect! The views from the course... EVEN BETTER! You will not be disappointed here, only blown away! pleased with this location. We were thinking of going with a barn, etc but this really was the perfect spot for us. Amazing amount of photo ops, beautiful scenery, plenty of space, great decor and great food. Our planner from MV, Elaine, was helpful every step of the way in planning our big day. And on our big day, we had no worries and no stress. And THAT (as many will agree) is a huge asset. Were there issues? We know now that there were. But they were handled, and our day continued on without a hitch in the plan. Based on our experience, I would recommend hosting your wedding at Mountain Valley.
