Moving Music Sound Systems & Photo booths

We hired Moving Music at a wedding expo in Niagara Falls. We specifically requested DJ Mike after talking to him there. He did a great job at our wedding. He kept things moving along, played music that we asked for, and even took a special request where a close friend of ours sang a song for us. The photobooth was a huge hit too. Everyone used it all night long.

Of all the vendors who worked effortlessly to make our wedding day a success, this company was hands down our least favorite. My husband and I selected this company because it was one of few that listed Afro Beats as a genre of music it’s DJ’s we’re familiar with. I’m African American and my husband is African and music plays a HUGE role in most celebrations - being second most important following the food. Days before our wedding we discovered that our assigned DJ was not familiar with that particular genre and was upfront about it which we really appreciated. As a result, he requested that we send a list of artists and songs that we wanted added to our party playlist. We did what was instructed and assumed the the issue would be resolved. However, we quickly realized otherwise during the reception. The DJ was very nice and did a good job with the ceremony but bombed the reception as he seemingly reverted to a generic playlist of songs typically played at weddings. That DID NOT fare well with our guests and they spent much of the night going back and forth to the DJ station making requests, in addition to approaching my husband and I with complaints. At one point it was obvious that the DJ became frazzled by the number of visits and complaints but remained professional, and tried to fill each request. My husband and I became frustrated but had to keep our cool so that our guest would remain calm, and tried to get on with the night as if everything was okay. We heard good things about this company which leads us to believe the issue had less to do with the actual DJ and more to do with the system used to assign DJ’s to specific groups. Our experience was very disappointing. 🫤

We weren't blown away by their DJ services. We were assigned DJ Danny D as our DJ for our wedding. From the initial phone call with him (which wasn't until just 1 week before the wedding) we didn't feel very good about this choice. But it was too late to do anything about it. He appeared rude and arrogant on the phone. He tried to make jokes about how I was "too picky" and continued to brag and tell me TWICE how many weddings he has done and that he is a "pro". I found him to be very full of himself and preoccupied with other things. He often spoke over me and didn't let me finish what I wanted to say. I was very specific that we didn't want many slow songs. Specifically 2 for the whole night. During the wedding, on 3 separate occasions he played 2 slow songs back to back (6 slow songs total). It really killed the mood of the dance floor. He also was rude to my guests who requested songs. The only way he would take a song request was if I personally left the dance floor and went up to him and asked. He did play some of our requested songs, but not all of them and he played songs I have never even heard. I was really excited by this DJ company because of their great reviews, but was really disappointed. On the day of the wedding, right before introductions, my maid of honor went up to talk to him and he went over the order of introductions and toasts with her. She didn't recognize any of the names on his list, and was confused. He had the wrong paperwork and was showing her someone else's weddings line up. He then came up to me to go over it all and make sure it was correct. In my opinion this should NOT be something you bother the bride with on wedding day. He should have had this done, and ready to go ahead of time. Also, no one knew we were cutting the cake. He just started our cake cutting song without saying anything. I had our wedding planner ask him to make an announcement. He didn't lower the music and very somberly said on the mic that we were cutting the cake. Not a single person heard him. Did people still dance? Yes. Did people still have fun? Yes. But I was not super happy.

We rented a photo booth for our wedding and everyone loved it! We decided to not go the traditional route with a formal photographer and thought this was a fun alternative. There was a line for it all night. They also put a complimentary photo book together of all of the pictures for us that our guests were able to sign. Both employees were polite, professional, and kept the very busy booth moving all night.
