The suits for our wedding looked fabulous and in great condition. The prices were very reasonable and since our wedding was out of town, the fact that we could pick up the suits a day earlier than normal was helpful. The only thing we were not pleased with was that some of the staff seemed very confused half of the time. We heard two different things as far as when we could pick up and return the suits, one employee lost my deposit, the manager was late to our first appointment, they got two groomsmen's sizes wrong so my groomsmen had to drive to the other side of town to pick up the correct size one day before the wedding, and although they are very friendly there was a different employee working at the store every single time we went there. They seem disorganized and needing better training. We went to the Peoria location so maybe the other locations aren't like this. I would recommend them to friends but probably avoid the Peoria location.
My fiance wanted a slim fit suit/tux that is apparently hard to find these days from a tux rental company. Men's Warehouse says they have a slim-ish fit but my fiance had to wear that style during another wedding and it looked boxy and big (almost like a Steve Harvey look). We went in to Mr. Formal and found stunning tuxes that were slim fit. He was able to rent a blue vest for everyone, blue ties for the groomsmen, and black tie for himself. Since we had people from out of town, many of our groomsmen had to call in for their payments which worked out fine. They all picked up their suits the day before the wedding and had no problems. All the men at the wedding looked like they had tailored suits and looked so handsome.
They were super knowledgeable about everything needed for the wedding attire! Everything fit well when it came in plus they have you try it on before you take it with you, just in case something doesn't fit right and they'll fix it. We rented 6 tuxes and definitely would recommend them! Our go-to place for tuxedo or suit rentals!
They were incredibly knowledgeable when it came to suggestions for my wedding attire. The end product was amazing, the fitted coat looked and felt like it was made for me. It's a tuxedo rental, but they did their best to make it look and feel like it was brand new! They have you try it on in-store before you take it with you, so any last-minute changes can be fixed, anyone who says otherwise is just trying to slander their reputation. Their work spoke for itself, and I'll be coming back any time I need a tuxedo!
Stay away! I really do not recommend Mr. Formal due to their lack of civility when conducting business. My Tux did not fit and was not as promised upon pickup. It was beyond adjustments and I was completely disappointed. At that point you would expect them to try to help you, however, they do not care about you as a customer. They will hold on to your money with no refunds or replacements and you will feel on your own. Think again before you give them your business as I will never use them again. This is all 2 days before my event, and I'm stuck due to their unprofessional and bad service.
Ordered suits for a bestman, 2 groomsmen and the father of the bride. Overall service was great! I would recommend them.
They did a wonderful job. I would recommend them to anyone.
Excellent service, easy to work with. Found exactly what we were looking for (with the exception of the ties--they were pre-tied so we couldn't use them to do the fancy knot, had to get different ties for that)
I looked at Men's Warehouse and Mr. Formal and ultimately went with Mr. Formal and I'm glad I did. I like the styles they offer better and their prices were a bit lower to start with and they had better discounts and promos. I went to the store on Camelback which is also where they store their inventory. Their building definitely doesn't have the polished look that Men's Wareshouse stores do, but nobody can tell that once the tux and you get to your venue.
We had a sales person who was making her first contract with us on her own with no other help in store. She had to keep calling her manager. She then inaccurately measured every single member of the party so that when their tuxes came in they had to be exchanged at another location. She quoted one price and then it was changed due to her mistakes without any notification to us. When we came in to try on the final tux both the sales person (same one) and a man she was training stood behind the counter without ever coming to see if my fiance needed help. We voiced concerns twice and they just mumbled from desk. We left and later had to go to another location to get the proper fit. I would never recommend this store to anyone. Poor training of staff.
For some reason all the guys' tuxes were still so big after they got them. The service was great, but their fitting style was a bit odd.
Mr. Formal was recommeded to my husband and I by our officiant when we mentioned the only thing we knew about tuxes was the name of the place we were not going to (a large tux chain) based on bad past experiences (i.e. a previous wedding we had been to where the company badly screwed up 6/6 tuxes). When my husband and I went to one of the Mr. Formal locations to select the tuxes for our wedding, we were extremely impressed with Patty (the owner). We didn't really know what we wanted, but she took the time to explain the different options to us as well as helped us determine what would look best based on the look we were going for. This same level of service occurred at three different Mr. Formal locations as the male members of our wedding party live in different parts of the valley. Mr. Formal also has the policy of having the guys pick up their tuxes two days before the wedding as opposed to the day before which is nice because if something is wrong (which it wasn't), they have the opportunity to fix it. We were very impressed with Mr. Formal and I highly recommend them. Great pricing too, although my husband was the one who primarily dealt with that.
My husband and all his groomsmen looked amazing in the tux's we rented from Mr.Formal! I recomend them.
As the bride, you'd figure I wouldn't necessarily have much say in the tux situation, but of course I planned it all.
Mr. Formal made it very easy on me. They were always willing to work with my schedule and my fiancees and made the extra effort to be sure that things were facilitating smoothly. I appreciate their help and insight!
Every tux had issues, the customer service response was poor. The attitude of the staff was poor. I can say that the owner came down to personally lend a hand at the last minute, which is good, but it is his job and his business so when things go so massively wrong, he should be the one fixing it. Yet for all of our inconveniences no concessions were made. Poor, very poor customer service.
Mr. Formal was everything I hoped for. They went out of their way to provide excellent customer service and a phenomenal tuxedo renting experience. The staff was friendly, caring and on top of everything. There were no hiccups or road blocks and the entire experience was absolutely easy and convenient – something that was hugely important to me. Simply put – they make everything easy and streamlined. I highly recommend Mr. Formal to anyone looking at renting a tuxedo or suit for any reason.
We went to Mr. Formal secretly thinking we'd end up going to Men's Warehouse. Boy were we wrong! The owner at Mr. Formal, Patty, was so nice, professional, and attentive. She knew exactly what we were looking for and called us when the new line came in. We loved the personalized attention we got. At Men's Warehouse we left feeling like we were bothering the staff by asking questions. Plus Mr. Formal's prices were better and their ivory shirts are ivory, not yellow.
So happy with the tuxes and they had a new light weight tux available for summer weddings which was great for us in AZ! Highly recommend!
We used the Tempe store for our tuxes. We had a pretty big wedding party, 8 groomsmen and two dads renting tuxes.
I had spoke to a woman from the camelback store who was so super nice, and a great pleasure to work with. When we had to deal with the man who worked in the Tempe store, that is when it all went down hill. EVERY PERSON in our wedding party had some sort of complaint about his customer service. All ten guys! And you know how easy going guys are!!!
When I tried to change things in our order(three months in advance mind you) he acted like it was an inconvenience to him.
Mr. Formal had a great selection of tuxes, but I suggest sticking to the shop on Camelback. They seemed to have people working there that were a little more friendly. And as many brides know, when it comes down to it, after all the planning we just want a friendly smile, or voice on the phone to talk to!
They were better than Mens Wharehouse! My only problem was that my out of town groomsmen were paying for their tuxes online and they kept telling us they couldnt see it! Their online system is not up to date! Othe than that, they have good variety!
After looking for tuxedos at several places with no luck we went to Mr. Formal and found exactly what we were looking for. They have a huge inventory of tuxes and suits and you are able to try them on before you order them. A lot of other places just take your measurements and you order out of a book. I loved that I could actually see what my husband would look like on our wedding day! They were very helpful in picking out different options for us and coordinated everything so that all the groomsmen could pick up their suits at different locations that were convenient for them. When they picked up their suits, some of the pant legs were not hemmed right and the shoes fit too small, but they fixed the problems right away and everything was perfect in time for the wedding day!
I was not impressed with Mr Formal. Everyone in my bridal party, including myself were not properly fitted. I had to go in several times and they still did not get the sizing right but we ran out of time So my shirt ended up looking like it was made for someone over 300lbs. At one time my sleeves were different lengths and my coat sleeves were longer than my shirt sleeves. I had to insist they try again because they didn't seem to think it was a problem. Don't was your time or money.
I won four free tuxedos from Mr. Formal for my wedding, so I can't really say anything for prices. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful with the tux selection. I would definitely return for future tux rentals.
I went there for my first prom and had a great experience. Chose a different tux rental shop for my next prom and decided to never go back there. I returned to Mr. Formal for my wedding tux because of the service I remembered my first trip in. They are honest and very hard working. They are always trying to please their customers and provide the highest level of professional and friendly service.
Great prices, wonderful selection. One thousand times better than what Men's Warehouse had to offer and just a fraction of the cost. The only reservation is that the warehouse messed up all of the sizings on the tuxes, but the store, who had nothing to do with the screw up, was wonderfully helpful and fixed everything right away!
We were on a tight budget and had to shop around a lot to get what we wanted. Mr. Formal was the only place we found (and we went to them ALL!) where we could get affordable tuxedos that were good quality. The price included matching vests and ties and the people could not have been more helpful. We had guys coming in from all over the country. The store manager stayed open late so we could get them all in and the alterations and changes done while we waited. I would recommend Mr. Formal to anybody who doesn't want to worry about the tuxedos!
Mr. Formal was PACKED "after school" on the Thursday before our wedding. What a nightmare! If you get married durring prom season, pick up your tux BEFORE school lets out for the day. We had some confusion about what was supposed to be rented, who was supposed to pay, and what size was supposed to be available, but I felt all of it could have been avoided if there was better communication between the different locations and between the different employees within the company. They were nice people, but quite disorganized.
We rented tuxes from Mr. Formal and were not happy with the results. They told us half a dozen times to come in on Thursday to pick up tuxes and when we did they did not have all the pieces ready and had not filled the order. We had to come back again on our busy Friday before the wedding. Very inconvenient.
My groom's tux was perfect, clean, perfectly sized, and arrived on-time. They gave us no hassle when we returned it a little bit messed up....
Good service
Maybe a little expensive, but nice to work with.
