The Mt. Washington Mill Dye House was the perfect venue for our wedding. The venue itself is gorgeous, and we had plenty of opportunities to add our own personal touches in each of the rooms. There are also countless amazing photo spots in and around the venue, making for unique wedding photos. For anyone local, it was very helpful to have ample onsite parking too. Throughout the entire process, Michele was extremely helpful in making sure there were no issues leading up to our wedding and that everything went smoothly day-of. We highly recommend this venue!
Our wedding venue was truly a dream come true from the moment we began planning. They made every vision we had a reality, and working with Michele was an absolute delight throughout the entire process. She and her team were incredibly attentive, and made everything feel effortless. We can’t thank them enough for their help in bringing our day to life and for their seamless execution of all our plans. The venue was perfect in every way, and we are so grateful for the incredible experience they provided. Highly recommend!
We loved having our wedding at the Dye House! The location is filled with so many beautiful, unique, and memorable spaces, both inside and out. This indoor-outdoor nature was important for us, as while we envisioned an outdoor wedding, we of course knew that you can never count on the weather, and we felt that an indoor wedding would not be much of a disappointment (if it rained on our wedding day, etc) at the Dye House, especially compared to some of the other places we were considering. We were lucky enough, though, to have nice weather on our wedding day, so we had our ceremony in the courtyard under that beautiful tree, with birds chirping like we were in a Disney movie. It was magical! Highly recommend!
We used the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House for our wedding on 10/28 and had such a great experience working with the venue. We were first interested in the venue for the rustic/industrial look, but we got so much more! We worked with both Jackie and Michele, and both were so nice and helpful. We had many questions throughout the planning process, and they were always prompt to reply and offered their experience and guidance. All of our guests were impressed with the aesthetics of the venue. We would definitely recommend using the space for your wedding or other event!
Truly the most beautiful venue - one that you can dress up or keep simple to suit your dreams, but no matter what will look elegant and romantic for your wedding/event. They have an amazing team and fantastic recommended vendors; I felt very safe in their hands. It is definitely worth buying the extra hours to extend the party a little longer too!! My guests loved the venue, it's leagues above any catering hall & moderately priced for the area.
We recently got married Labor Day weekend and 3 days before our wedding, Michele let us know there was going to be a bike race on the day of our wedding. She said she had no idea about it however all of our other vendors had known about the race and were planning accordingly. The Maryland Cycling Classic, the BIGGEST one day bike race in the US had been announced several months before. My partner and I live in Boston and we chose this venue for the look and also the expertise and convenience of vendors who had a ton of experience working the venue and knowing the area. Leading up to the wedding date, Michele had been helpful and prompt with replying to emails.
On the day of the wedding, the race ended up delaying our start time by 45 minutes. We had family members outside coordinating and negotiating with police officers to figure out how to allow guests access to the venue because Falls Road was blocked off. While most of our guests are able bodied and resourceful in being able to find alternate parking and walking, we had several handicapped and elderly family members had to rush and walk much farther than expected on a VERY hot day. We also had several guests turn around and go home because they could not access the venue or find alternate parking.
Our guests literally did not have access to the venue and Michele was NOT HELPFUL. We had family members and friends running around, directing driving and walking guests of where to go, negotiating with police officers. Michele stayed inside, did not offer assistance, did not coordinate with police officers or provide staff to do so, did not provide any compensation and generally was rude to our family members and friends that were trying to coordinate all of this. Prior, I specifically asked her to provide contingency plans for if the race was going to interfere with our wedding, including alternate parking and all she provided was very minimal instruction on what roads may be closed off.
Certainly we do not fault Michele for there being a huge bike race on our wedding day, however we do expect our venue coordinator to know what’s going on in the community that may affect our very expensive use of space and also provide access to that space. We actually had paid for an additional hour of venue rental for $750 and basically lost that time because we had to start late. Post wedding, we emailed letting her know how upset and disappointed we were with her lack of action and asked to be compensated. We lost about an hour of rental use, were not able to take our sunset photos because we were strapped for time, incurred significant undue stress caused for mostly our immediate family members as they were trying to coordinate guest arrivals, the undue stress and safety concerns for our elderly and handicap guests trying to access our venue, and undue stress for us as we had to rush through the evening events. It’s been a month and Michele has NOT responded or reached out.
At the end of the day, the venue looked lovely, all of our vendors were AMAZING and our guests said they had a great time. Ashley and the Copper Kitchen team (one of the exclusive caterers) did an amazing job and could not recommend them enough. I think if the bike race had not been a variable, I would be leaving a 5 star review. However if you want a venue coordinator that is supportive and will have your back if an extraordinary circumstance arises, I wholeheartedly DO NOT recommend this venue.
We were looking for a cool venue near downtown Baltimore when we found the Dye House and it exceeded every expectation! The space is already so incredible and with a few additional items was transformed into the fairytale venue of our dreams! Michele was also very responsive and great to work with. Thank you!
We LOVED this beautiful venue with more than enough space for our 130 guests. Beautiful old brick and mortar style with tons of great outdoor places for photos of the party around the property. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking.
It hasn't even been a week since my wedding, and everything about my Dye House wedding was absolutely perfect! I literally was blown away by how beautiful my wedding was. The Dye House KNOWS weddings. The space is amazing, both indoors and out. Leading up to the wedding, Michele was always responsive, even with my small, minor questions. Day-of my wedding, if anything went wrong, I literally have no idea- her coordination with the other venders was so seamless. Other info: the Dye House has two exclusive caterers to chose from, both of which can accommodate all dietary restrictions (and food was amazing, but that's a separate review!) The Dye House also has their own tables and chairs (nice chairs!), so no need for added rentals (unless you want them). Also, we made the call based on a real bad 100+ Baltimore heatwave to have the ceremony inside, and our inside ceremony was just as amazing (if not more beautiful!) than the original outdoor plan. You seriously will not regret having your wedding at the Dye House
This venue is so beautiful it pretty much speaks for itself. Then, you add Michele’s service and assistance and it’s pretty much perfect. We had 150 people and felt comfortable. Not too crowded or too bare. The space was open so everyone could mingle in close proximity while still allowing space for guests to enjoy the evening however they wished. The preferred vendors on the dye house’s list were selected for a reason. Everyone is the best of the best just like this spectacular venue. I wouldn’t have wanted to get married anywhere else! Thanks again to Michele and the Dye house!
This venue was more beautiful than the pictures. On top of that, coordinating with Michele was simple and made the initial planning process seamless. They provided many vendor recommendations that led me to finding the perfect vendors for our day. The layout of the venue makes it easy to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one location. Would absolutely recommend your wedding (or other event) at this beautiful venue!
We are so happy and lucky we had our wedding at Mt. Washington Mill Dye House. The Dye House is the most beautiful venue and we loved the natural beauty and history of the building. It was the perfect setting for our reception and our guests gave us so many compliments on the atmosphere. Michele was wonderful to work with, very responsive, and happy to answer any questions we had along the way. Throughout our entire wedding planning process we kept thinking how glad we are we got to have our wedding at this beautiful place. We would definitely recommend this venue!!
The Mt. Washington Mill Dye House was the perfect venue for our beautiful “winter wonderland” wedding. We knew from the moment we toured that it was the place for us. Michele was really easy to work with, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. She answered all of our many questions promptly. She was very knowledgeable about nearby hotels, shuttles, caterers, rentals, and all the other vendors we needed. The venue itself was the perfect size for our ~150 guests with plenty of space for dancing and a great location to go to from our Hotel in the Inner Harbor. We were so happy that we picked the Mount Washington Mill Dye House for our wedding venue and highly recommend working with Michele!
The Mill and Dye House was our number one choice for venue and it exceeded our expectations in every way. It is such as beautiful venue! And I can not speak more highly of Michele who worked with us every step of the way to make sure everyone was on the same page. She always kept us in the loop and made sure that the night went smoothly. She was amazing!
Disney World better step aside because the Dye House is actually the place where magic happens. Our wedding couldn't have been more perfect and Michelle is an actual angel on earth. She was so caring and so accommodating to helping my family and I plan our massive ceremony/reception while I was deployed overseas.
This is the perfect venue for a quaint outdoor ceremony and IF you're not down with some rain on your wedding day, the Dye House's ability to pull off a last minute switch to an indoor ceremony is surreal. If you're looking for an indoor ceremony, you can never go wrong with exposed brick, industrial detail of old Baltimore and beautiful floor to ceiling windows.
The reception rooms were absolutely perfect for our 115 guest wedding, a dj set up, a giant desert bar and additional bar by the dance floor. If you're hoping to capture the heart of Baltimore and rustic, industrial vibes of Ellicott City, look no further.
Best wedding venue in Baltimore.
Michele, Director of Events at the Dye House, was such a pleasure to work with. She is extremely organized, knowledgeable, friendly, detail-oriented, and cares about each and every one of the couples she works with. It was a bit stressful at times planning our wedding during COVID, but Michele was flexible and even let us select a Plan B wedding date in the event that we needed to postpone our wedding. This definitely put our minds at ease and gave us the reassurance that we selected the right venue!
The Dye House may seem a bit pricey at first, but it’s an all-in-one package where we were able to get married and have our cocktail hour and reception at the venue. They also just built a large outdoor patio in the back which we were extremely happy about because we utilized it on our wedding day, which turned out to be gorgeous weather!
Michele worked with all of our vendors to ensure our wedding day was beautiful and I couldn’t recommend her and the Dye House enough.
This venue captured us both right from the start. The venue and staff could not have been more perfect for our wedding day. It is one of the more unique venues in the Baltimore area. Guests loved the space as much as we did. The three distinct rooms provided plenty of space and flexibility to truly make the event our own. We were able to comfortably hold our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception here. Everything was seamless. We are trying to figure out what other event we could have just to use this venue again!
Mt. Washington Mill Dye House is a great place to host your wedding. You can do the ceremony and reception all in the same place if you want to. The staff is super helpful and accommodating. I worked with Chrissy directly, and she took care of every detail. She accommodated my vendors with any early walk through, provided an event insurance recommendation, and let us pick up items the day after our wedding since it was on a Sunday.
The venue’s decor and charm speaks for itself. I loved having the entire place to ourself and not feeling rushed because another wedding is going on or follows like at hotels.
This venue is drop dead gorgeous. Any photos are sure to be stunning because the space is so well suited to being photographed. The staff there are helpful, responsive and accommodating. The caterers that they contract with are also very high quality and responsive. Highly recommend!
We knew we wanted to get married at the Dye House the moment we saw pictures of it online. It was even more stunning in person and while it doesn't need a whole lot done to it to make it beautiful, you really can make the space what you want and the staff is so incredibly helpful! Chrissy came in after we had already booked the space but she was amazing at making sure we had everything ready to go and on the day of, everything ran smoothly. She was also extremely responsive to our emails leading up to the day as we had questions. She was completely on top of it and made sure our day was everything we hoped for! Definitely recommend having any event here!
The Dye House was the perfect choice for our wedding. They were truly accommodating and the actual location is beautiful. It's truly eclectic and made our pictures so fun and interesting. The staff were very helpful and responsive whenever we had questions. So happy we went with them.
Fantastic venue! Works beautifully for a wedding, with lots of spaces for guests to mix and mingle. The space is so versatile with options for both inside and out. Make sure you get down to see this hidden Baltimore gem!
This venue was perfect for what we were looking for. It is rustic but elegant. We had lighting and flowers only with no added decor and people constantly commented on how beautiful it was. The manager was very flexible but honest and walked us through the over whelming process of planning our day. The only thing that I wish would have gone better was the day-of person that represented the venue was not very organized or friendly.
