Their unwavering professionalism, support, and expert guidance were invaluable throughout the entire wedding planning process, making it an unforgettable experience. I owe a huge thank you to the amazing wedding planners, Kelsey, Sophia, and Kaitlyn, whose dedication and attention to detail made every moment truly magical. From the moment I set foot on the property, I was captivated by the timeless beauty of Mt. Woodson Castle, and our guests were equally impressed. The venue's ambiance and charm made it an unforgettable setting for our celebration. As for the food and drinks – they were simply divine! We had our wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle on June 15th, 2024, and everything about the experience was absolutely perfect. From the start, the communication with the staff was seamless—they were always prompt, friendly, and extremely helpful in answering any questions we had. The venue itself is stunning, with its historic charm and breathtaking views, providing the perfect backdrop for our special day. On the day of the wedding, the service was impeccable. This review has been very difficult for us to do. We were fully committed to giving a 5 star review to Mt. Woodson. However, due to many things that we will outline below, we will be giving a 4 star review, regretfully but with conviction. Positive things about our venue: Beautiful, amazing ambiance and location. When you work through Mt. Woodson, you work with their caterer, their decorator, their bakery, their coordinator, and there is an abundance of supplies/décor/trinkets that you can use for both the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. It is basically an all-inclusive package, which is amazingly convenient and makes it so much easier to plan and work with their coordinator. Our wedding was the best day of our lives, and we had a beautiful day overall. The food was delicious, our guests were happy, and overall, there were absolutely no major issues. Since we got married in April 2022, we were slightly worried about the weather, because sometimes we will get rain. However, the weather was absolutely perfect too, and Mt. Woodson even set up heat lamp rentals for us, which our guests appreciated when it got dark. The décor was beautiful, our bartender was excellent, we had signature drinks, and many other small details that they helped to coordinate. There were games to play during cocktail hour for our guests, the bridal and grooms suites were very nice and it was amazing to be able to have photos there. Everything was on site. The other people we had hired for our wedding made it even more amazing (DJ, officiant, florist, photographers, and videographers). They provided a list of recommendations, and accepted vendors, although if you found someone who wasn’t on the list and you wanted to hire them, you had to get it approved. Which is fine and understandable due to insurance reasons. We have absolutely no complaints on the OVERALL day. Now, here is why we have a 4 star review instead of 5 stars. When we originally toured the venue, we still had other options that we were looking into. It was a different wedding coordinator than the one we ended up working with. I think her name was Taylor. A few months later, we contacted Mt. Woodson and booked our date, and by then our coordinator changed to someone named Peyton. We were working with her for our entire planning of our wedding and were informed that she would be our coordinator the day of. However, the day before our wedding, we did the rehearsal at the venue with our wedding party. The coordinator was someone we had never met, who was clearly new to the position, and said she was still being trained. She also informed us she would be our coordinator the next day, which was slightly stressful because we had never worked with her. Details get missed when that happens, which is what ended up happening. I had been working with Peyton on a number of décor items we wanted at our venue (our main archway at the ceremony, the pillars at top of the aisle, and some other items) that Mt. Woodson provided. When I mentioned these to the new coordinator, she seemed confused and quickly wrote it down. The archway, on our wedding day, was there but the pillars to hold flowers were not. We had printed our signature drinks and put them in frames to put up at the bar, which we gave to them the day before. We found out later that our frames were broken and our signature drink posters were taped to the side of the bar and no one really knew we had signature drinks. We found out because we asked our guests if they had tried our signatures drinks yet, and they had no idea what we were talking about, so we went over to the bar and saw for ourselves. Our food was delicious, but was disappointing. We wanted a buffet style, but being the bride and groom, we were served plates which knew ahead of time and were fine with. However, we were pulled away after eating a few bites, to do photos, and when we came back about 15 minutes later, our plates were cleared. We were starving and never got more food, because our coordinator was nowhere to be found. She seemed very disorganized and kind of frantic. My husband and I honestly don’t even remember the coordinators’ names from the day of our wedding (night shift and main coordinator) because it was so last minute and stressful. One thing that was very important to us was the leftovers that we were told throughout our planning, and even on their website, were going to be packed up for us. Since we had a buffet, and an extra side and extra meat for everyone, along with hors d'oeuvres at our cocktail hour, we were expecting many leftovers. When we were getting picked up by our driver we hired, we asked about our leftovers. The brand-new coordinator we had never seen before showed up (night shift coordinator?) and told us she would search the back for leftovers. Supposedly, there were no leftovers to be found and “our guests ate all the food and there are no leftovers”. If that is true, that worries us because that means they ran out of food and our guests went hungry. If it is not true, they completely lied to us multiple times, since we had even contacted the venue afterwards about it and they continued to deny we had leftovers. They told us that this is the first time they had run out of food. That worried us even more because we had about 10 no-shows at our wedding. Would 10 people have gone hungry? We know they were not being honest with us, because we saw the amount of food there. This was completely unacceptable and we had to drop them a whole star from their review because of this. Also, as a side note, the dessert was mediocre, we weren’t a huge fan, and that was the majority of the “leftovers”. We ordered a large variety of dessert and they looked great, but tasted like chemicals. Overall, we had a beautiful wedding, it was the best day ever, the vibes were amazing, and the venue provided what we wanted. Would we still recommend this venue? Yes, absolutely. I think there was an issue with communication between the coordinators and the issue with the caterers either not providing enough food, or not providing us with our (VERY EXPENSIVE) leftovers. Our experience with this venue was amazing to say the least. We started off working with Peyton then we worked with Kelsey and Sophia who were incredible! They were very responsive and so so kind. They kept us up to date as we got closer to the wedding and answered any questions I had in a very timely manner. The venue was beautiful and the food was so tasty as well. My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our time at the venue and working with everyone. And our day-of coordinator Sam was the best hands down! She was on top of everything for us making sure the rehearsal went smooth, answered any questions we had, and always made sure we were good on our wedding day. I'm so thankful to have been able to work with everyone at Mt. Woodson and Personal Touch Dining. I wish I could do it all over again to relive our wedding day!!

Our wedding couldn't have been more perfect! The venue was incredibly beautiful and the personal touch dining team was simply amazing. They were so informative and helpful as we were planning everything and when the week of came, they were very communicative and responsive. On the day of our wedding, they took care of us, and everything! Everything went so smoothly and according to plan. The food was excellent! Thank you to all involved!

Wow, where to even begin! The moment my husband and I finished our tour of Mt. Woodson Castle, we knew this had to be our wedding venue. The castle itself is gorgeous and such a cool historical place to get married. The grounds are so well maintained--the oak trees, flowers and other natural foliage created such a beautiful and romantic environment for our outdoor spring wedding. It’s one of those places where if you wanted to, you could get away with very minimal decor and/or florals because the property has so much natural beauty just on its own. The most appealing part of getting married here second to the actual location is the amazing team and resources that come with it! Mt. Woodson comes with a full service catering team and bar services (Personal Touch Dining), a day-of coordinator, organized rehearsal, venue manger support every step of the way with a production meeting to coordinate all the fine details, rentals, a room filled with complimentary decor you can use for your wedding day, lawn games for guests, etc. It was such an easy choice for someone like me who wanted choices and control over many aspects of my wedding, but appreciated how organized and painless Mt. Woodson made many aspects of the planning process by offering them in one place. I would like to personally recognize Kelsey and Sophia (Mt. Woodson’s venue sales manager and event producer) for being so awesome and assisting me in planning this wedding via the multitude of emails/questions I sent their way! They were always prompt, kind, and extremely helpful. I never felt like I was being a nuisance and knowing I had an approachable team to reach out to was incredibly important to me. :-). I would also like to thank Kaitlyn for being the true MVP as my assigned day-of-coordinator and absolutely KILLING IT with her leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail. She placed (and packed up!) all of my decor, organized basically every moment of the day, and made sure our wedding was as beautiful and perfect as we could have ever hoped for. We had our wedding on June 8, 2024. It was a literal fairytale. Sophia and Kelsey walked us through the entire planning process and made everything seamless. It was such a pleasure working with them. They were very responsive and helpful throughout the whole planning process. Wedding planning can be stressful and overwhelming, but Sophia and Kelsey helped so much with everything that we hardly felt stressed during the planning process. The catering by Personal Touch was absolutely delicious. Our guests ranted and raved about the short rib, chicken, veggie dish, and the churro station. The venue has that enchanted, magical, fairytale vibe. The staff was very friendly and everything ran as smooth as possible. If my husband and I could relive this day we absolutely would. Thank you Mt. Woodson and Personal Touch dining for helping us plan and celebrate the wedding of our absolute dreams.

Mt. Woodson Castle was a dream come true for my husband and I. This historical castle provided us with such an unforgettable fairytale-like wedding, and we are eternally grateful to the staff who made this possible! Kelsey, Sophia, and Kaitlyn worked hard with my husband and me to plan and coordinate everything to be "just right". They dealt expertly and kindly with my struggles as a DIY wedding planner, and helped ease the process along the way. This venue's communication, kindness, professionalism, and overall dedication to each wedding is unmatched. It was a pleasure to work with them and celebrate my big day with them, and if the idea is ever feasible in the future, I would absolutely go back to this venue to celebrate an anniversary!

The venue of our dreams. We met in Italy and currently live in San Diego so this venue was literally a Tuscan dream! It is all inclusive, their team is quick and professional, and most importantly kind. Peyton, Sophia, & Kelsey were key players in our planning process and they showed nothing but excitement. The venue also had an incredible reliable and large list of preferred/approved vendors. Through them, we found our Planner (Holly Kalkin) and DJ (Dancing DJ/Will Chitwood). We had found our first photographer from their list but due to an unfortunate situation, we had to rush to find a new one. Thankfully though, the venue was super understanding and let us bring in our own preferred photographer and waived the outside vendor fee! Your guests will feel like their living a fairytale, you will have endless photo backdrops, and you won't regret choosing this venue!

This is amazing venue. They are amazing to work with and are open and try to do everything they can within reason or tell you why. This area is so understated and amazing. The only problem is golf carts in the back but didn't even matter and didn't affect the area the wedding took place. Wish more people knew about this AMAZING hidden gem. I loved it and made guest impressed and made the bride feel like a princess.

My entire experience with Mt. Woodson castle and the venue staff was amazing! There are some many aspects that made the planning easy, and fun such as the group tasting experience where you can curate your menu, and the production meeting where you can see the options for tablescapes right in front of you. My wedding team was always responsive and helpful during the months leading up to my wedding, and made me feel so special. I truly did not feel stressed during the wedding planning process because of how wonderful Peyton and Kelsey were. They were kind, organized and answered every question I had. My day of coordinator Sophia handled everything and I got to enjoy my day and be completely present. All my guests were in awe at how beautiful and genuinely historic this venue was. The lush fields around and beautiful castle features like the windmill made the day feel like a fairytale. I would definitely recommend choosing this venue and team to help make your day so amazing! Mt Woodson Castle was truly a dream wedding venue.

Words cannot describe how incredible of a wedding we had at Mt. Woodson Castle! Working with Peyton, Kelsey and Sam was the absolute best. I met Peyton over a year ago when we first talked about having our wedding at Mt. Woodson and she made sure we had all the details regarding contracts, payments, tastings, and production. Her and Kelsey were so communicative and always answered my long emails with multiple questions. We had a last minute request for heaters and they easily got those taken care of for us. I do have to give a special shout out to Sam who helped us in the day of. WOW! She was so sweet and great to work with. She made sure to keep us on time, did little breathing exercises to calm our nerves, made sure we got to eat & drink, and held space for us to have our 10 minutes of alone time. She listened to all of our requests and brought together a beautiful ceremony and reception. My guests are RAVING about the venue, decor, food and drinks, and overall service. We are so impressed with Personal Touch Dining and would recommend them for any couple who is wanting a seamless wedding experience. TWe truly had the perfect fall wedding of our dreams and we are so grateful!

Our experience with Mt. Woodson Castle and the Personal Touch Dining Staff was absolutely amazing. We had a very specific vision in mind for our wedding and Peyton, Kelsey, and Sam all helped pull it together for us. They were very attentive when we had questions, returning our emails promptly. We had a food tasting, production meeting, and a rehearsal walkthrough to make sure everything went off without a hitch. The wedding day itself was perfect! Sam, our day of coordinator, pulled out all the stops to make sure my wife and I had everything we needed. Our wedding day at the Mt. Woodson Castle was quite simply a perfect experience. Working with this venue as well as Personal Touch Dining was a breeze through every step of the process. I couldn’t have asked for an easier planning process or a more gorgeous experience! Peyton and Kelsey helped us with the entire process. They were always so helpful, quick to respond, and helped make the planning as easy as possible. Our Day-Of Coordinator, Sophia, was such a gem and made my entire wedding day a breeze. Her presence helped to reassure me the whole entire day that everything was going perfectly. Everyone I worked with both during the planning and on the day of our wedding had such a fun, energetic vibe that made the entire day that much better! The castle is absolutely stunning, so I knew from the beginning this venue was going to be a jaw dropper for our guests. On top of the perfect setting, everything else the castle provided fell together just perfectly. The food was so tasty that even our guests have told us how much they loved it. Bonus: there were leftovers to take home at the end of the night, which we got to share with the family to re-live our experience in the days following a the wedding! Not only the food, but the drinks were tasty, the churro bar and other desserts were scrumptious, and all the servers and wait staff were so friendly and quick to attend to our guests! All in all, I highly recommend this venue if you want to have the perfect wedding! I’m still in awe of how amazing my wedding was, and I have guests telling me the same even months after the fact! From the stunning oak tree site for the wedding ceremony to the exceptional service provided by the Personal Touch Dining staff, everything was simply perfect. Peyton, our Sales Manger and Day of Coordinator, was an absolute gem to work with. From our first meeting to the last dance, she made the entire wedding planning process a breeze. Peyton's warm and friendly demeanor put us at ease right away, and we instantly knew we were in good hands. She took the time to listen to our vision for the day and offered valuable insights and suggestions that elevated our wedding to the next level. Our wedding at Mt Woodson was everything we dreamed of!! I cannot thank the staff from Personal Touch Dining (the in-house caterer/manager) enough for making our day flawless. We worked with Peyton and Kelsey in preparing for the event. Communication was super prompt and they both went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. I loved that for our tasting, we did a group tasting with other brides and groom who were also getting married here. Our day-of coordinator was Stephanie and she was fantastic. I admit that I was nervous not meeting our coordinator until the rehearsal (which is the policy of this venue, and something that we were told at booking) - I had become so comfortable and confident in Peyton and Kelsey’s work that it was scary to bring someone else into the process that I didn’t know. But we could not be more happy with Stephanie’s management of our wedding day! She took such good care of us and our families, making sure we stayed on time and guests had the best experience. And she did it all with a smile on her face! If she was stressed at all during our big day, she never showed it - which left me feeling so relaxed and confident on our wedding day! We chose the Oak Tree site for the ceremony, the Upper Lawn for our buffet dinner (tri tip, Parmesan breaded chicken, salad, green beans, mashed potatoes, and bread), and inside the castle for dancing. The Oak Tree site at 5 pm on a sunny day in June was magical!!! Perfectly shaded but green and beautiful. Everything I dreamed of and more! It’s a little steep while walking in heels to get down there, but otherwise an excellent choice. The Upper Lawn was beautiful as well, especially under the market lights for an evening dinner! The huge bar is right near there which made for a fun cocktail hour too (we had an open bar, which was $20/person - totally worth it!). Our DJ (Kaleb from Dancing DJ Productions) set up in the balcony overlooking the dance floor which was super fun. We extended the evening by one hour for a fee, which we are glad we did! Waiters, bartenders, and other staff were attentive. Food was great! Everyone was talking about how this was the best wedding food they’d ever had! The negatives: this venue is far from San Diego. It’s on some windy roads which made me nervous, especially driving at night. People who used Uber took forever to get a ride. There are also not great hotel selections nearby. We wanted to stay at a beautiful hotel for our wedding night so we ended up at the Lakehouse Resort on Lake San Marcos - LOVED the hotel but it’s a 45 minute drive from Mt Woodson. Our next choice would have been Rancho Bernardo Inn but for the price, it wasn’t really what we were looking for. Thank you to everyone at Mt Woodson who made our day perfect!! I highly recommend hosting your wedding here!

I’m so glad we decided to have our wedding at Mt. Woodson! We decided on the oak trees for our ceremony and the lower lawn for our reception. It was so beautiful, the food was incredible, and the planning process was made very easy by the team. Peyton was very helpful throughout the process and answered all of our questions timely. Kelsey, our day of coordinator was incredible. She was friendly, helpful, and made the day so seamless for us. It was so nice having her take care of us, allowing us to relax and enjoy the day! On top of it all, our guests loved the food! It was such a perfect day – we cannot recommend Mt. Woodson enough!!

Mt Woodson Castle is a beautiful venue for your wedding! We had our June 2023 wedding here and had a great experience. We worked with Peyton, Kelsey, and Sofia and they were all professional, so communicative, and attentive to details. We saw some reviews about the food not being the best but we enjoyed the food and most of our guests complimented it as well. Overall, we have no complaints and our day went as perfect as it could have. We live in Northern California and we weren't stressed about any coordinating or about our vendors on the day of. Such a smooth process! We are so happy we chose to have our ceremony at the Oak Trees and reception at the Lower Lawn - it was so beautiful. We would definitely recommend using Mount Woodson Castle as your wedding venue!

Our wedding day at the Mt. Woodson Castle was everything we could have dreamt of and more. It truly was magical and perfect in everyway and the teams at both Personal Touch Dining and the Mt. Woodson Castle were amazing to work with. Peyton was the Sales Manager who helped my fiancé along in our journey and she always was so helpful, quick to respond and helped make the planning process as easy as possible. The Day-Of Coordinator, Kelsey, was such a gem and truly had such a fun, energetic vibe that made the entire day that much better! The food was INCREDIBLE. And when I say incredible, I mean it... I promise you that it's not like your typical wedding food that is sometimes lukewarm and not visually appealing. This food looked and tasted SO SO GOOD. Plus, there were leftovers to take home at the end of the night so my new hubby and I didn't have to cook the next day, which was just such a nice touch. I could go on and on about how amazing our day was here, but just to sum the entire review up - SAY YES TO THE CASTLE! I promise you won't regret it.

How cool is it to tell your friends and family that you are getting married in a castle?! We fell in love with this place from the moment we stepped foot on the castle grounds. The venue is surrounded by mountains, oak trees, and grassy fields. The castle is impressive! The exterior is made of gorgeous boulders of beige and tan, while the interior is a dark cherry wood that feels authentically like you've traveled into a fairy tale. Every inch of this place is a gorgeous picture for your friends, family, and especially your photographer. The venue is managed by the fabulous Personal Touch Dining team. Personal Touch provides coordination, set-up, tear-down, and everything in between. If you are looking for a stunning evening that will leave a lasting impression, then look no further!

Mt. Woodson Castle and Personal Touch Dining made our wedding day extra special! Just as my husband and I did, our guests fell in love with the Castle as it is a beautiful and unique hidden Gem. The food was so delicious and using Amy Closet's for extra decor was so convenient! We worked with Peyton and Brooke for the planning and Kelsey did an amazing job executing our rehearsal and wedding day. Peyton and Brooke were very response to all my questions and made the process simple and stress free. They both offered great advice from helping with the timeline, decor and made sure I was happy with everything. For our rehearsal and wedding day, Kelsey was beyond amazing. She was friendly, organized and made sure everything was running smoothly. It felt like she as part of our wedding party as she just fit in perfectly with our group of friends/family. For me, I have zero wedding regrets and that has everything to do with Mt. Woodson Castle and Personal Touch Dining and the entire team! I highly recommend celebrating any occasion here! :)

Where do I even start, My husband Brayden D. and I (Stefanie D.) had our wedding here September 24th 2022! It was an absolute BEYOND BEAUTIFUL wedding! When we decided to look at venues this is the only one we wanted to look at we both loved the venue pre engagement and we fell inlove checking it out! Peyton was amazing and easy to talk to threw emailing back and forth... also Brooke was great to talk about anything with the food setup etc! Kelsey was great the day of our wedding! We officially met her the day before so our wedding rehersal day and she made sure I was always okay and if everything was going well throughout the night... My surprise for my husband during the garter removal wasn't able to be found misplaced somewhere and Kelsey made sure to be on it to find it with my girls and she found it for us! Everyone was so sweet and we are so thankful for everything 💗 Thanks again, you won't be disappointed here the only down part was it ended way too fast but its because we were all having too much fun! Magical, beautiful, wonderful, princess vibes!!!! This venue was perfect for our wedding. We still reminisce every day. Peyton and her Team are the best and made everything so smooth and fun! Pros: 1.Competitive pricing 2. Absolutely gorgeous venue with both indoor and outdoor options. 3.All in one package including unlimited drinks. 4.Food was pretty good overall. We had a cheese and fruit plate as an appetizer, and the meals were tri tip and chicken with mashed potatoes. The tri tip was the best. Vegetarians were given a lasagna. 5. Lots of decor included. 6. You get the whole place to yourself. There are no other weddings happening the same day. 7. There are a few options of where you can have your ceremony. In front of the castle, by an old tree, etc Cons: 1. staff were not as responsive to our emails as we would have liked. We had to keep following up to get a response. We felt in the dark on a lot of planning elements until we were about 90 days from the wedding date. We would have liked a clear outline of what to expect as far as planning from the very beginning. We had no contact with our day of coordinator nor did we know who she was until about a week or so before the wedding. 2. Brides and grooms be aware: you can NOT have your makeup and hair done in the bridal suite at the venue!!! Despite paying around $14k and being the only people using the venue that day, you are not allowed to come any earlier than 2 hours before the event without paying extra. Regardless you are not allowed to use the suites for hair and makeup because “the building is old.” 3. The initial tasting did not meet our expectations. When the menu described “gourmet artisan crackers and imported cheeses” we were given club crackers and very basic low quality cheeses. However I did express dissatisfaction with the crackers and they quickly came back with better crackers. I appreciate that they fixed it but we wondered why they gave us that in the first place. The rest of the food was pretty good for venue food. 4. Staff were unwilling to be flexible with changing plans. Given the Covid pandemic, we were uncomfortable keeping our wedding reception and wanted to opt for a small elopement. We asked if we could apply what we had already paid to Personal Touch Dining (roughly $6k) towards just catering, as this was over 9 months before the wedding date and no wedding planning on their end had been done yet. They refused. In their defense, it was in the contract that the funds were not transferable, however had they been flexible, we would be writing a much better review on great customer service. 5. Staff did not tell us until the day of the wedding that Ubers would not be available in the area of the venue. Right before the ceremony, as music was playing and all the guests were sitting down, our day of coordinator took the mic to tell all of our guests that they needed to figure out another way home because Ubers are not in this area. This caused stress for us because we had to scramble at the last minute to figure out carpools. They should have told us this way earlier. 5. Both the bride, groom, parents of the bride, and wedding party members felt that the day of coordinator had a rude attitude. She snapped at some of the bridesmaids and told them to “get it together” and was not very kind or friendly to the couple during the rehearsal. We would have preferred more positive energy and kindness from her on this important and nerve wrecking day in our lives. Overall I would recommend this venue, so long as the couple is aware of all of the above.

get married at Mt Woodson Castle. In regard to email communication, all email exchanges were answered within 24 hours with the exception of weekends when we were onsite at events. This summer, we implemented a new system to keep couples informed during each step of the planning process, to alleviate this concern! Our Sales Team is involved with all things planning so couples can streamline their planning process through our front office. This also allows our coordination team to be focused on executing all your little details the day-of ensure a flawless event. The castle is a 101-year-old historic property, so it is not a reliable source of power for the tools needed to do an entire bridal parties' hair and makeup. We ask that hair and makeup is done prior to arrival so that you can optimize your 2 pre-ceremony hours for getting dressed, photos, and be able to enjoy the special moments. As you mentioned, per our contract, all funds go towards the event date and location you have reserved. Our deposits are non-refundable or transferable as we turn others away for the date you are contracted for. Ubers and Lyfts both come out to the Castle, and guests have never had a problem getting a rideshare! I will reach out to our day-of coordinator to see what happened here. Our lead day of coordinator, Kelsey, receives fantastic feedback about her great energy and kindness to our couples, which is well highlighted in our other reviews! I am sorry to hear you did not feel the same connection.

What a ride this was, We first got engaged a couple months before the pandemic and that is when we booked with Mt. Woodson. Getting out of the car we already knew this was the place, the grounds are absolutely breath takingly beautiful! Then COVID hit and the shut down happened and we were forced to postpone our wedding date. We eventually got married 2 years later and in that 2 year waiting period the Mt. Woodson staff was AMAZING! They remained in touch with us and we available for any and all questions we had. We had the extreme pleasure of working with both Peyton LaBeau and Brooke Wilson. Simply put, they were a Blessing to work with! A few days before the wedding we had a bit of twist to our plan when the weather decided not to be the typical Sunny San Diego we are used to. We were expecting rain and both Peyton and Brooke were on top of it. They had to plan an entire outdoor wedding indoors, as well as, get a tent (2 days before the wedding) and set it all up for 125 people. They pulled out some magic with the help of our day of coordinator Kelsey and pulled it off. The wedding was intimate and beautiful. Kelsey totally ROCKED the day of coordinating. She was everywhere and tackling every task and she was such a pleasure to work with and made my job, as the bride, smooth sailing. Thank you Ladies!

To say that our wedding day at the castle was sublime would be an understatement. A BIG shout out to Kelsey for her attention to detail. All of the setup with our party favors, signage, picture frames, etc. was PERFECT. The food was just as we remembered from the tasting, if not better. Now that we’ve received some footage from the day, it looks like everyone’s plate was full and it was smiles all around. Everything ran according to schedule. The use of proprietary vendors was definitely a value add. Everyone knew everyone and it was apparent. It was such a rush. Such unfiltered joy. Isn’t that what a wedding is supposed to be? Thank you to Kelsey, the wonderful staff, and let’s not forget Peyton, who took care of every idea we had from the get go regardless of how unique.

Mt Woodson was the first venue we looked at and we instantly knew it was the venue for us! We loved how unique it was and the history of the building. The pictures online don't do the history justice! We especillay loved the hand painted astrology room. All of the ceremony & reception spaces were amazing but we fell in love with the oak trees and the lower lawn for the reception. Another great part about the venue is how inclusive it is. The coordinators were so helpful in finding vendors for the things we wanted (marquee letters, specific arch, etc). The coordinators were very commmunicative leading up to the day and were happy to help answer all our questions! The provided lists of suggested vendors and that helped us so much since we aren't from the area! They also offer a lot of items from "Amys Closet" which has table numbers, card boxes etc. It was great to have access to these for our day. The day went pretty smoothly and we feel so thankful we found Mt Woodson as our wedding venue. All of our guests really loved it as well, we are not local to San Diego so it was a bit of a drive for some guests, but they all said it was very worth it and loved it as much as we did! I am so glad we got married at Mt Woodson and will have this special memory at this venue for the rest of our lives! I would definitely reccomend this for couples looking for a unique, affordable, all inclusive venue option!

This is truly a hidden gem! My husband and I toured over 10 different venues before coming across Mt. Woodson and boy we’re we blown away as soon as we walked up. After officially signing the contract, Peyton and Brooke made everything else so easy to make my princess day come true. I am still in awe of how smoothly my wedding day went. I can not recommended this wedding venue enough, from the staff, to the beauty of the actual venue.

Mt. Woodson Castle is truly so stunning and the team is true wedding professionals. We originally booked Mt. Woodson back in early 2020 and by the time we returned for our wedding in 2022 - it was even more beautiful than we had remembered. The entire team is incredible. A special acknowledgement for Kelsey, the day of coordinator, who is truly AMAZING at her job. I am a Type A, planner type who was frankly overwhelmed at the idea of the wedding day. But from the second I arrived at the bridal suite, I was at ease with Kelsey. She kept us on schedule, while also being flexible when we were whisked away for more pictures. She gave us tips and made it so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I received a text after my wedding that said “You guys looked so incredibly happy so that must mean it wasn’t stressful” to which I replied that it was all due to Kelsey that we felt at ease. Mt. Woodson also has Amy’s closet, which is so nice to allow you to pick from their table numbers, signs, decorations, etc. so you don’t have to purchase all of those. 20/10 stars for the food, drinks, venue, staff, everything. I am so grateful that we had our wedding here!

I absolutely loved everything about this venue. The staff, the excellent communication, the ease in rescheduling and making accommodations due to Covid, the gorgeous outdoors, etc. We initially booked a wedding for January 2021 before Covid existed, and had to postpone it by one year. it was super easy to postpone. Leading up to the wedding, we worked primarily with Peyton who was wonderful! So professional, a great communicator, and answered all of our concerns quickly. Brooke was also a great help as well. Mt Woodson is an all inclusive venue, meaning they provide the food, set up/break down, & decor (minus flowers). It was very convenient and stress free. The actual wedding and reception went super smoothly too. Peyton and her staff did an excellent job decorating, & everything looked gorgeous. We dropped off a few items the day before (like programs, wedding kit, etc) and the next day everything was in its proper place. It was so great to know that everything is being taken care of and that I could just show up worry free. The Mt Woodson team has it all down to a science. Drinks to food to music is nailed to a T, and everything went super smoothly. Couldn’t say more great things about Peyton, the team at Mt Woodson, or its beautiful surroundings. The reason we chose Mt Woodson is because of its gorgeous oak outdoor ceremony area, and the beautiful lush scenery; the excellent services was a pleasant surprise and I’m more than grateful we went with this amazing venue. I can’t wait to get our photos back!

I'm going to give a completely honest and transparent review. First and foremost my wedding was so beautiful and everything I dreamed it would be. While there was some communication issues with management throughout the process, the owner herself did everything she could to rectify my concerns and made me feel very heard. Now for the show stopper. Dani, the day of coordinator. I seriously have no words but im going to try. She made my day feel effortless. She went above and beyond to make not only me but my ridiculously large wedding party feel at ease and on schedule. And managing that many people is not for the weak. She deserves all the praise and you can tell her heart is really in the business of making brides days as special as possible.

My fiancé and I absolutely LOVED Mt Woodson Castle! It was the first wedding venue consultation call we had, and also the first wedding venue we toured. Peyton was incredibly helpful and responsive to all of our questions. Ultimately, we ended up choosing another venue over Mt Woodson Castle for our special day simply due to its location. However, it was a VERY tough decision as we did truly love Mt Woodson! The grounds are beautiful, and one of the biggest draws for us was the ability to have in-house wedding planning and coordination leading up to your big day - no need to hire an additional day-of coordinator. I would highly encourage everyone to reach out to Mt Woodson Castle to schedule a consultation call and/or come in for an in-person tour of the venue. Thanks again for your help, Peyton!

We cannot sing the praises of Mt. Woodson and Personal Touch Dinning enough! The castle and the grounds are beyond gorgeous and have such a rich and detailed history. We received so many compliments from our guest about how beautiful and authentic the scenery and venue were. We booked the venue and started wedding planning from Tennessee at the height of the pandemic. We were not able to travel to see the venue, so Mt. Woodson took us on a live virtual tour, covering every inch of the property. We originally started planning with Taylor, then Peyton took over about 4 months before our wedding. Both Taylor and Peyton were absolutely amazing! Peyton really made our final months of planning a breeze, inluding helping us navigate a few last minute unforeseen guest list changes. We cannot thank her enough for helping make sure all of our guests could be there on our special day! Our Day of Coordinator Dani was above and beyond any one we could have asked for. Do you want to be stress free day of? Dani is your girl! She took care of us throughout the entire day, including bringing us drinks and appetizers while we were taking pictures, giving guests tours of the beautiful castle, and taking care of even the smallest of details.The Personal Touch dining staff were bubbly and helpful. Staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs and congratulate us on our union. The food is absolutely amazing. Every single dish from appetizers to desserts was delicious! We recieved an enormous amount of compliments from our guests on the food, bar, and service. They also pack up all the left overs for you to take home! It was perfect for a midnight snack. We truly cannot praise Mt. Woodson enough! If you are thinking about booking here, you 110% should. You will not be disappointed! My wife and I already have plans to renew our vows in 10 years at Mt. Woodson, and we only got married in September! Cannot wait to do it all over again.

The venue is amazing. It photographs beautifully and it's very romantic and intimate for smaller weddings. What made it even more amazing were the wedding coordinators Dani & Peyton. They were there every step of the way and we would have been lost without them. Dani went above and beyond and took our extra bouquet flowers and used them to decorate the bar and our sweetheart table, etc. She was amazing and so kind and available the entire evening! Also, Amy's Closet is perfection. You can borrow all the decorations and not have to come out of pocket for items you'll never need again. I would say my wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle was one of the most amazing nights of my life!

I don't even know where to start this venus is AMAZING! We planned our entire wedding during Covid so I thought it would be more stressful or we would have more restrictions. That wasn't the case at all. From our initial tour with Taylor, to many emails and our tasting with Peyton, to our rehearsal and day of with Dani these girls were the DREAM TEAM. Every step of our planning went so smoothly, the price is so reasonable compared to all San Diego venues. It included the amazing venue, bridal/groom suites, all decorations ( I bought zero decorations), dining, staff, tables, you name it they had it. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL with so many good photo spots/areas for the guests to walk around and enjoy. They had 2 different ceremony and receptions sites to choose from. The food was DELICIOUS and had vegan/gluten free options. The staff knew exactly what to do and were so professional & fun (they took a cute photo in the photo booth). It is such a hidden gem in the hills of Ramona, so close to Poway and the 15/56 freeways (20 minutes). I cannot thank the staff and venue enough for giving us the BEST wedding experience. I want to do it all over again!! <3

Besides the venue being absolutely GORGEOUS, what really made our wedding so great was how smooth everything went day-of. The Coordinators are on top of it. They are so fast and discreet you don't even realize they have completely transitioned the decor from ceremony to reception. I was kept in the loop throughout the night but without them being a bother at all. My parents had to do NO clean up at all because all our personal decor/gifts were in a pile all ready for us to put in our car. Appetizers were brought to our sweetheart table because we missed cocktail hour for photos. I felt very attended to and the day was absolutely perfect.

This venue was incredible. I had my wedding here just three days ago and I am still dreaming. Mt Woodson was the first venue we looked at of just two, as we knew right away it was where we wanted to have our wedding. Every single detail was accounted for, and they accommodated to my every need. There was NO NEED for a wedding coordinator as the day-of staff BLEW MY MIND with their service. Shout out to Dani who took care of us on our wedding day and made everything easy for us. This venue is so special and I want to do it all over again!

Dani and Peyton were instrumental in keeping me calm and happy during a little rain scare, they helped keep the atmosphere light and fun! They helped keep the positive mood and the vibe, they kept everything timely and on point. They were so positive and kind, the venue was set up beautifully everything ran smoothly they really made our day that much more relaxed and enjoyable :)

There are not enough words to express how beautiful, amazing and perfect our wedding day was! Also, due to Covid, we got to celebrate 2 times! How many couples can say that?! In 2020, Taylor helped us with every detail, she answered every question and even the uncertain times to explain our options since CA was only allowing ceremonies and not receptions at the time. We opted to do our ceremony on July 31,2020 and then have our reception the following year on July 30, 2021. When contacting Taylor back earlier this year, she forwarded me to Dani and Peyton since Taylor moved away. I was really bummed she moved since she was so helpful and sweet! But little did I know, Dani and Peyton were just as amazing!!! Honestly, they picked up right where Taylor left off. They reminded me what colors and food we chose, the timeline of the wedding and answered all our questions! The main reason we chose Mt. Woodson, obviously other than the beautiful venue with the oak trees, the historic castle and just so many photo opts wherever you looked, is their delicious food! Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE loved the food! They said it was the most delicious wedding food they have ever eaten. From the staff (who by the way compliments you when they see you and just makes you feel so good!), Peyton who overlooked the whole venue and honestly Dani who is my favorite person there! She took down notes, wrote down where we wanted all our decor, every little request was with a smile to make sure it was a perfect, relaxing and fun day! I trusted her to put decor wherever she thought would look great, told us what is coming next, food was delivered to our table so we wouldn’t even have to get up and go get it and even drinks when we requested it! My husband Aaron and I had a baby back in May and he made his debut there also along with us celebrating our 1 year anniversary. It was just so awesome and I wish we could do this every year! They send you home with a beautiful wine and even a hand written thank you card to top it off! I truly highly suggest couples have their wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle! 😊💕🎉🙌🏻✨

We had an amazing wedding here this past July 2021. I hope everyone's wedding was as stress-free and easy as ours was! We had a blast the whole day and so did our guests! We initially worked with Taylor when choosing our venue and then this past June 2021 we worked with Peyton. The day of person Dani was amazing! Every single staff goes above and beyond to make your day feel special and important. The food and was great and we loved the dessert bar. Their vendor recommendations are top notch as well. Thank you again for the whole day, we would not have changed a thing!

We absolutely LOVED this venue for our wedding! From the setting in the beautiful hills, the birds chirping, the beautiful castle and grounds, to the amazing staff, we are so grateful to have chosen Mt Woodson as our wedding venue. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for their special day location.

Mt. Woodson is simply amazing! We got married under the oak trees and had our reception on the lower lawn. The food was AMAZING!!!! Everyone has completed us on it. Dani did an amazing job as the day of coordinator. She killed it the day of and made every little detail amazing :) She even notice my moms glow stick wasn’t working when she wasn’t working while on the dance floor and brought her a new one! We had the most amazing day at Mt. Woodson. You will not regret booking this as your wedding venue!

This venue is beautiful, all the guests loved the area and history of the castle. The food was phenomenal, everyone was so impressed and couldn't stop raving about it afterwards. Taylor and Dani are fantastic, leading up to the day and the day of they were happy to help with anything and answered all our questions. We felt safe and comfortable with their COVID precautions and had no guests sick afterwards. I would happily recommend this venue to anyone looking for something inclusive and beautiful!

This venue is absolutely stunning. Because it’s so beautiful we honestly didn’t think we could afford it. After our initial meeting with Taylor, we immediately booked it!! It exceeded our expectations and was all within budget. Taylor is so patient, answered ALL my questions and made my dream wedding come true. I’m beyond grateful to have had our wedding at Mt. Woodson. They will not disappoint.

We picked Mt. Woodson to be our venue for our February 2021 wedding and it was the best decision we made. The castle was so beautiful and it was perfect for photographs. We had the pleasure of working with Taylor (the venue manager) and she was amazing. She answered all of our questions and worked out all the details with us. She was quick to respond which we appreciated especially because it was stressful trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic. Our wedding day could not have been more perfect — from the venue, to the food, desserts, and little details. Thank you Mt. Woodson team! :)

Our wedding was originally supposed to take place in October of 2020. Due to the pandemic, we made the decision back in May to postpone. Taylor, the venue coordinator, was wonderful throughout the postponement process. We were not penalized and were easily able to secure a new date. While I have no idea what that new date will look like due to Covid, I have been very happy with the awesome service provided by Mt. Woodson. They have kept us in the loop and not only met but exceeded all of our expectations. As far as the venue itself goes- it is stunning! We are so excited to hold our wedding there. The communication has all been a breeze and we couldn’t ask for anything more-well except maybe for Covid to go away but.... Overall we are very happy with our decision to book Mt. Woodson!

My fiance and I were supposed to have our wedding at Mt. Woodson in May 2020, but for obvious reasons, we had to reschedule. Their dates were filling up and my fiance and I were feeling discouraged, but then we got a date we liked at one of their sister venues for October 2020. We have since rescheduled that date and moved it back to our original venue for October 2021. Throughout this process, the staff at Mt. Woodson (Personal Touch) has been helpful and communicative -- especially Taylor! She has worked with us during this tricky time to make sure we are still getting the wedding we've been looking forward to. We are thankful for their flexibility and know that when our big day finally comes, it will be just as special.

Mt Woodson Castle is truly one of the most beautiful locations ever and we couldn't have asked for a better venue or team for our wedding on September 4th, 2020! The location itself is stunning from the grounds and trees to the handcrafted interior and beautiful bridal/groom suites. I cant wait to see our pictures because with such an impressive background they have to be incredible! Taylor, our event coordinator, is probably the most talented and amazing person in the entire world and she made wedding planning a breeze! Thanks to COVID we had to change dates, adjust group sizes, deal with city and state restrictions, and of course all the regular wedding planning details, but she handled it like a champ, was always super responsive, and made everything work our perfectly! I literally don't think we could have planned this wedding as successfully as we did without Taylor and the incredible team at Mt. Woodson! Food is also incredible thanks to Personal Touch Dining, which for me and my husband was a big part of why we chose this location! Since COVID we could not have the reception at the castle, but Taylor (again being amazing) arranged a catering contract and they brought all the food to us at our second location. People are still raving about the tri tip! We couldn't have asked for a more special day and I'll be honest, we picked Mt Woodson, paid, and the first time we ever got to go was on Sep 3rd for the rehearsal when the wedding was Sep 4th. We just new from all of Taylors help, the other reviews, and the pictures online that this was our venue and we were right!

This venue is gorgeous and so unique--you won't find anything like this anywhere else. Due to covid restrictions we were only allowed to have our ceremony and take photos there. I am so grateful we were able to do that because our photos came out beautifully. Everyone was in awe of the beautiful grounds and theres so many amazing spots for photos that are so unique. We had our ceremony in front of the castle which made for a gorgeous backdrop for all of those photos. We did wedding party photos by the oak trees and family photos by the castle. You also have access to the grounds and golf course, so my husband and I were able to do photos there as well. Its such a beautiful outdoors space with the castle and lots of greenery and then the inside of the castle is so cool and different. I looked at soooo many venues online and toured them as well, but nothing compares to this. As soon as I walked on the property, I knew we had to get married here. Taylor, the event manager, is AMAZING. I can't emphasize that enough. She always answered all of my crazy and panicked questions quickly. The venue was very accommodating with all of the last minute changes due to covid as well. We were able to do the tasting before our reception had to be cancelled and the food is delicious. They have so many great options its hard to chose. Even if something you want isn't on their menu they will make it for you. Its also a really good price for everything you are getting in my opinion.

We got married at Mt. Woodson Castle in September 2019 and it was absolutely beautiful. We initially worked with Leah, and then Taylor in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Taylor was so amazing and took care of absolutely everything. When there was a chance of rain in the forecast for our outdoor ceremony and reception, Taylor was so kind and so helpful in going over our last minute options. There were tough decisions to make and plans that had to change, but at the end of the day, the wedding was so beautiful and the Personal Touch Dining team was incredible. The castle team is full of professionals and we are so grateful to them! We had no idea what we were doing in terms of planning a wedding, and yet, we did it, many thanks to Leah and Taylor. After the wedding, we received such positive feedback on the food, the beauty of the venue, and the clearly hardworking team that helped us. Thank you, Mt. Woodson & Personal Touch!
