On May 28th, 2022, we had our wedding ceremony in the beautiful chapel and our reception in the Combat Gallery. It was the perfect venue for us, both veterans. All of the staff was wonderful. In the months before the wedding I made several trips there to help get mental pictures to help me plan the decor and the general feeling that I wantd for my wedding. Each time, I was met with smiles and a genuine happiness, willingness to help. Christa, the events director was wonderful to work with I felt like she really listened and understood what I was looking for. The bartender and the security that Christa arranged for the day of were absolutely amazing. Lastly, the grounds were covered with the Memorial Day flags, it literally gave me goosebumps to hear the role call over the intercom during our prewedding picture session. I felt surrounded by the souls and memories of some of the great men and women that helped defend our great country.
I would definitely recommend this venue!!!
We had our wedding here on June 4, 2022. It was beautiful! We used the Chapel, Combat Gallery, and Art Gallery. Not only was it affordable but, Christa was wonderful! Christa made sure that everything was taken care of and even jumped in to make things happen. Thanks Christa!! Highly recommend working with the Mighty Eighth for a memorable event!
the museum was amazing. the decor, chapel and main floor were spectacular. the Stagg were amazing. they were easy to talk to and very helpful. they made sure my wedding day came out wonderful. would recommend this place to anyone that is looking to get married at a museum.
I wish I could give this venue a higher rating, but I have to be honest about my experience. The venue itself (we got married in the chapel and had the reception in the combat room) is very pretty! We only decorated with a few flowers and linens, and it looked great. The issue is with the event staff. There is only 1 employee working events right now (Christa) and she has absolutely no clue what she is doing. I understand that she is overworked and overwhelmed, but there is no excuse for the hardships that I had to face while attempting to plan this wedding. Emails were never returned in a timely manner - in fact, multiple emails never got returned at all. Christa does not typically work from her office, so there is no phone number where you can reach her. She is very clearly not trained for the position that she holds. For example, she couldn't even draw a layout for me of what the room will look like and where the tables would be placed for the wedding reception. She set unrealistic expectations, she forgot to make room for a dance floor, and couldn't even provide an adequate sound system. I am greatly disappointed in how things turned out, due specifically to her lack of knowledge and false claims. Maybe if you have an additional wedding coordinator as part of your budget, this venue could work better. But Christa (the ONLY event employee) and the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force will undoubtedly leave you dumbfounded and disappointed.
We had our May 25, 2019 wedding at The Mighty Eighth, and it was amazing! We had our awesome wedding planner (Tiffany from Absolutely Chic Events- book her, she’s THE BEST) coordinate everything from start to finish, but Christa from The Mighty Eighth was a wonderful help and partner! The venue is absolutely gorgeous. We had our ceremony in the chapel, reception in the rotunda, and had the bar area for cocktail hour.
The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force was a perfect venue for our Wedding Date on March 3rd, 2018. We used the chapel for our ceremony and "the pub" for our reception. Our wedding consisted approximately 55 people and it housed all of our guests and family members perfectly. Holly, the wedding director, at the Museum, was a joy to work with and helped to make our wedding day less overwhelming, complicated and stressful. She recommended amazing vendors, such as Ms. Sophias for our caterers, New Life Flowers, and Gifts for our flower arrangements, First City Events for our DJ, and Reveron Joe for our minister. Holly was very organized and helpful from the first day we booked our wedding at the Museum. She knew we had family members and guests that were coming from out of town, and made sure everything was set up beautifully for everyone to enjoy. The location was gorgeous, with greenery and historic figures outside, which made our photos even more beautiful. Everything was put together flawlessly. I would recommend The National Museum of the Mighty Eight Air Force to anyone located in Pooler or Savannah, GA or anyone who is looking for a destination wedding, like the one we had.
We loved this venue. We used the chapel and the art gallery and they were both lovely. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and were a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!!!
I choose this venue because of the chapel and reception area! It was reasonably priced and it fit my husband and I perfectly! It was so beautiful! Christa was our event coordinator and I could not of been happier! Also we received a military discount! Best venue ever!
Our wedding was April 22, 2017 and it was amazing! This place is absolutely beautiful and for the price, you can't beat it. I love the fact that the facility rental came with a coordinator. Erica French was our coordinator and she was there every step of the way. She went above and beyond to ensure that our day was perfect. Our family raved about how great she was. If I had to do it all over again I would use The Mighty 8th again. This place is awesome!!!
This venue was a no brainer seeing as how my husbands grandfather flew in WWII with the Mighty Eighth and has a plaque there. And I'm so glad we did it there. It is a beautiful venue with a lovely memorial garden. And the on site chapel was absolutely perfect. The stained glass is so unique. We highly recommend them. Their event coordinators worked very well with us and our wedding planners. We thought that planning an out of state wedding would be difficult but they made it effortless. Their in-house caterer Teri with Miss Sophie's was a genius at planning our plated menu. The day of was magnificent. The coordinators, with our planners, handled everything so well. Everyone has said this was the best wedding they have been to!
We got married January 7, and though the outside scenery wasn't picture perfect in the dead of winter, that did not take away from our day one bit! The ceremony in the Chapel was breathtaking and needed very little decoration because the Chapel is already so ornate! The reception we had in the art gallery and it was the perfect size and space to turn into exactly what we wanted! The staff was great to work with and the coordinator Erica was so patient and flexible with me! I cannot say enough about how great of an experience we had! The chapel fits about 130 people and the art gallery was plenty spacious for our 100 guests.
My wedding was July 17, 2016. We chose the Mighty Eighth Musuem because they were a bundle package venue and their price was uneatable. They included everything you could need or want. I loved that they came with a wedding coordinator because I did not have the funds to hire a wedding planner. Erica French and Christa Smith was awesome. Between them a wedding planner was not needed. They help with everything, from finding other vendors to decorating and making sure the day ran smooth. I could not image how my wedding day would have went without Erica running things. She checked in multiple times and made sure no hiccups happened. The tiny hiccups that did happen (because whats a wedding without any hiccups), Erica handled so quickly and smoothly that no one ever noticed that anything was wrong. I was the most happiest BRIDE. They went above and beyond. They met with me and my now husband multiple times before the wedding and handled all details. I would not choose anyone else. Hands down my wedding and wedding experience was the most happiest and enjoyably because of Erica.
Beautiful and intimate Chapel. We checked several options before booking the Chapel. It was by far the best option, not just for it's beauty, but also the price was very reasonable. Erica was wonderful to work with from the day we booked the Chapel through "I Do". We highly recommend!
My fiancé and I made our first visit 2 weeks ago to check out the place we had favorited online. Our guide Erica was wonderful. While we didn't choose this venue for our wedding, I must say we had a positive experience. Erica, who is new to the Mighty Eighth was very kind and really gave us many options. We started our communication through email, and she laid out many different varieties for time of day and while the dates didn't march up with what we were looking for; she didn't stop looking until she had exhausted every idea that came to mind. Neither of us (my fiance or myself are from the area) so Erica was able to fill us in on how the weather is during the fall; which is when we plan to marry. The museum itself was great, a little bland for our taste but it was a wonderful historical sight that we enjoyed visiting casually. It just wasn't what we had in mind for our ceremony/reception. I would say take a look, get a feel for the place while it wasn't for us, we still had a great time and ended up learning a lot about what to look for with other venues. We actually ended up finding our dream venue that same day! Also, both Erica and I are around the same age and she was recently married, so it was nice to have the opinion of someone who had been there and done that. So thank you Erica for being so sweet and sharing so much with us we enjoyed it!!
I used the chapel for our ceremony and the Rotunda for the reception. It could not have been more perfect. We worked with Christa and she was incredible! She thought of everything I might need. They were accommodating and my guests loved the venue!
Great services and accomodations. Excellent coordinator Christa
These guys were absolutely fantastic! They were so accommodating, helpful, nice, wonderful, etc, etc.... There is nothing bad I can say about them!! Susan Eiseman was my coordinator and she was the BEST!
The Mighty 8th was amazing. The price is unbeatable and you can do everything there-the ceremony, the reception, and the catering! They seemed to think of everything and the events department was so helpful. I was planning most of the wedding from out of town, but they responded quickly to every question or concern I had. The chapel was so beautiful it took my breath away, and the Rotunda was a beautiful place for our reception. Our food was delicious and I was able to enjoy the whole wedding knowing our event coordinator had everything covered. I have only good things to say about the Mighty 8th and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone getting married in Savannah.
I used Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum for my reception venue. We used the large Rotunda room and it was beautiful- plenty of room for lots of guests to sit and eat (we had over 20 tables) and still have a dance floor. The price is AMAZING. The events department is always there to help and are very friendly! Also, I highly recommend Miss Sophie's (the in-house caterer)...the food was AWESOME!
I loved this venue! It offered everything I needed and had a distinguished military appeal.
