Very professional and good to work with overall. Mark is very knowledgeable and was able to help us find the best suit for the day! They were able to tailor one of our groomsmen's suits last minute too. Reasonable prices for rentals. Can be a bit expensive to buy, but it really depends on the suit you choose.
Mark and Heather, simply put, were amazing. We used them for our wedding party's attire. They were incredibly welcoming and had the availability to both meet with us and get a hold of a hard to find suit color. Mark had gone above and beyond what was expected of him when we had an issue with an external clothing provider. Overall, I'd highly recommend their services, and I look forward to using them again for formal attire in the future.
Thank you to Mark and Heather Needleman. Everyone looked great for my big day! Beautiful Michael Kors suits with blush ties-flawless!
The best—sized my groom and outfitted him in two days!
I went to Needlemans for my first dress shopping experience and needless to say I found my dress within a few hours! Heather was great! She made trying on dresses very easy and fun. We were greeted at the door by the owner. Garth offered input as well! All and all a great experience and very happy with my purchase! They made dress shopping easy!
Had a wonderful experience shopping for a wedding dress with my future daughter-in-law. Garth was beyond helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I would highly recommend visiting Needleman’s when the need arises. :)
I absolutely loved Needlemans bridal. Not only did they find me the perfect dress after a horrible experience at a different bridal boutique, but they also helped me with open arms as a walk-in. The service there after was also great. Staff were always very cheerful and helpful. They gave me prompt information when my dress was arriving. My seamstress didn't steam my dress as they said they would and Needlemans took my dress back with no problems and steamed if for me free of charge. I loved my experience with them! Our groomsmen also rented their suits here and they said everything was quick and easy!
My groomsman and I really liked Needleman's. They were very helpful and understanding when some of my guys didn't get their measurements in on time. The owner, Mark, was very easy to work with and made it a stress-free process. I also thought it was great that when six groomsman rent a tux, the groom gets theirs for free plus the insurance. The only con is that they didn't have a big selection of ties to choose from so I had to buy one somewhere else. But overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend them.
My first appointment was with Heather and I can’t say enough good things. She was helpful, kind and just amazing at her job. I absolutely LOVED my dress!
The team was wonderful! They made me and my family and friends feel welcome and special the entire visit! We went to another bridal shop right after and went running back to Needleman’s where the quality was visibly better and the service was top notch!
Too many other places to rent suits to mess with Needlemans's. We went to the Newport location to buy two dresses and rent 4 suits. Over all the suits fit OK and showed up 3 days before our wedding. Since I was the only one local I was the only one who could try on the suit ordered for me. So far so good. Unfortunately that's where things fell apart.
After arriving at the Inn I put on the shoes that came with the suit. After walking about 100 feet the rear half of the sole of the left shoe came unglued. Our photographer had some superglue and after 5 minutes problem solved, or so we thought. After about 10 minutes of walking around the other shoe's sole started falling off. It's now about 10 minutes before the wedding is to start and I have a shoe that is very difficult to walk up/ down stairs. A guest offers to run to the hardware store to get another bottle of glue (since we used the first bottle up on the left shoe). Because traffic was kind of bad in Stowe it took longer than expected to get the glue and now the wedding is on hold waiting so I can fix the other shoe. The wedding started about 20 minutes late by the time I got the glue and repaired the shoe.
That seamed like the end of the shoe problem and everything went smoothly during the ceremony and all the photos. Of course the whole schedule was now a half hour off. While that may not seam bad it actually was since the kitchen was following the schedule while we were cutting short the photos so we could get back on track. Now a second problem was becoming an issue. The rental shirt had both white buttons and black studs. The black studs would not stay button. Most of the time they were hidden behind the tie but not always so some of the photos show a combination of white buttons and black studs.
The final problem, and what lead me to complain was when walking onto the dance floor the front half of the sole on the left shoe folded under the shoe and I almost tripped into a crowd of people. Luckily there was a strong wall that I was able to grab onto to prevent the injury (and a law suit) of myself and plenty of friends/ family.
On Monday when we went to return the suits. The staff was great to deal with but clearly did not have any power to try and resolve the situation. We were told that something like 5 other pairs of shoes had a similar problem that weekend. They called Mark and we spoke on the phone. He told me that if it was hot out the glue can melt but since it was 60f that wasn't the case. He then told me he wasn't going to charge me for damaging the shoes. He was rude.
I'm not sure what he was thinking but trying to blame me for the shoes failing was the last thing he should of done. When I told him I was trying to give him a chance to make it right before slamming Needleman's he just said that's the way the world works now and hung up.
Well Mark I hope you realize something. I am not a teen or 20 something. Neither were most of the guests. We have two 20 somethings that will soon be getting married along with at least 20 more children in the same age group of people that attended our wedding. All of them know what happened and now know what type of business Mark runs. On top of that there are all the people I work with and the word of mouth. Mark's attitude and lack of professionalism just cost him tens of thousands in future business.
I wasn't impressed with the Newport location when shopping for a wedding gown. The selection was small and I thought the quality of the dresses available could be better. I honestly thought some felt a little cheap-not in the good way. The salesperson seemed to think that if a dress fit the way it was supposed to, then it would be just fine-regardless of the style I wanted or wedding I am going for.
However, I would definitely stop in again next time I need a casual or party dress. There were a few nice dresses available that aren't just for brides or bridesmaids.
I found my wedding dress at the Newport store. I worked with Deb, who is amazing! She had picked out a bunch of dresses ahead of time based on a loose description of what I wanted, and I liked most of them, and LOVED one of them. She also insisted that I get a french bustle, and she was so right! It looked amazing on the dress and I had multiple people compliment me at the reception that it looked so much better than when they had done their dresses.
Needleman's may not be the most visually appealing store, but the stellar service is WAY more important than how the store looks. There are a variety of styles in different sizes, and it is neatly organized by size, so you know the dresses you're looking at will fit (as best as they can without being individually fitted). Kasey helped me and he was amazing. He gave advice immediately and asked for my input and concerns about dresses. He was patient and friendly, and helped me find dresses that I was interested in trying. He was open to trying on as many as I needed, and as I found things I liked, he would pull more dresses with those features. He helped add veils, headpieces and belts to jazz up the looks, but didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't like. He never once pushed price, and it was clear that how I felt in each dress was most important to him, NOT how much I was spending. The service at Needleman's is the reason I'll go back- to make my decision on my dress, and probably to outfit the rest of my bridal party. I went to a second bridal shop the same day that I went to Needleman's, and I was struck by how much service mattered. Thanks for such a great experience!
I was getting married in the fall of 2014 and wanted to wear a yellow gown. Having been married before at 25, widowed 5 years ago, I had no desire to wear a white bridal gown.
I went dress shopping with my daughter-in-law on Thanksgiving weekend. One shop really wanted me to wear a traditional gown and after I suggested that I should look at bridesmaid or mother of the bride gowns, they basically deserted me.
At Needlemans, we were free to look at all their gowns. We were immediately drawn to a yellow and rust gown on their clearance rack. We picked out several dresses to try on and the women were very helpful and supportive. The yellow dress won out and looked great with all the fall foliage. I did have to have the gown altered but all in all, it was a great deal and exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to Needleman's for listening to their customers and not forcing their ideas on me.
I am so happy with this vendor. Needleman's staff came through for me! I found a beautiful dress and enjoyed their friendly service after having a really frustrating dress shopping experience at another store.
Having mistakenly purchased a dress (at another store) that couldn't be altered, Needleman's staff helped me find a dress that made me feel confident and beautiful, and I didn't have any issues with alterations. I am so happy with my purchase. I didn't want to take the dress off! I loved it and I'm so grateful that I made the change and found a dress that worked for me. THANK YOU!
I was a plus sized bride and they had a huge (no pun intended!) selection of dresses for me to try on. The consultant who helped me, Alicia, was a sweetheart and made the whole dress buying experience a pleasure. They steamed the dress for me and provided an additional corset string free of charge that I used to accessorize the dress. Couldn't have been happier with the dress or the service I received from them!
We got all the bridesmaids dresses, groomsmen tuxes, and my wedding dress from this business. However it happened to be the one located in Newport on Main street, not in Burlington. Everyone was fitted perfectly and had no issues with dress sizes. very knowledgeable staff with suggestions for color schemes when I was stumped.
My mom and bridesmaids and I went to the Newport store six months prior to the wedding to shop for my dress and that was a great experience; we could shop til the store closed, great personal attention, and no limit on dresses. I found and bought my dress that day. I had heard horror stories about other shops and insisted we order the tuxes here too...BIG MISTAKE.
My husband and his groomsmen went to the Burlington store because we had moved, the dads went to Newport because it was closer for them. We made sure that everyone knew the order name and number. Apparently, this is not how Needlemans works. The stores do not share information with each other and we kept getting calls having to re verify the amount of the tuxedo order and names of the wedding party. My mom and I were chastised for having the wedding party go to different stores for the guys' convenience.
The final straw came when we were two weeks away from the wedding. I called to get an estimate of when the tuxedos would arrive. Called the Burlington store, was told 'by Thursday, the week of the wedding.' I asked what would happen if something didn't fit, they said they would express ship 'but no guarantees.' They assured me that such a situation is rare because measurements are done so close to the wedding date and I was relieved. The groomsmen's tuxes arrived the next week, they did all fit. Paying was another matter. We understood that with a minimum group of six tuxes, the grooms is free. They almost refused to honor the sale because we had the wedding party go through two different stores. With the constant run around and miscommunication, my husband had enough. He threatened to walk out and leave all seven tuxes there if they weren't going to honor the sale. Nowhere on the sign did it say that orders have to be made all at one store. They did agree to give it to him. The dad's tuxes got lost in shipping and that was another five phone calls between two stores and game of pass the buck.
Again, the tuxes did look good and my dress came out great. Alterations were excellent. But, if you choose to shop here, I recommend the Newport store only.
I had very good luck finding my wedding gown at Needlemans. After trying David's Bridal I found that their fabrics felt cheap for an expensive price. The gowns at Needlemans are name brands, but within an affordable price range. They are helpful at finding you a dress, but don't hover if you want some time to look by yourself. I had a very nice time buying my dress at Needlemans.
I used Needlemans Bridal to steam my gown before my wedding and to clean and preserve my gown after. We came to Vermont from Arizona for our wedding and Needlemans was able to make sure my gown was ready, after being shipped, for the big day. The staff there was so friendly and nice and knew me after just one phone call. When I took it back to be cleaned, they remembered me and were so friendly that I wished I had purchased the dress there!
good service! very helpful staff
We got our bridesmaids dresses and tuxes here. Dresses all came in on time and were great. Tuxes were a difference story - one groomsman had the wrong color vest and tie and the father of the bride had the wrong tie as well. When we mentioned this upon the return of the tuxes, we were told it was our fault. Not happy.
My dress was absolutely amazing. My wedding consultant, Sarah, really knew her stuff! The lace appliqués and bead work was gorgeous, plus we added a strap for an over the shoulder look that made the dress one of a kind. They have many beautiful dresses to choose from at fair prices. My groomsmen and bridesmaids all got their outfits their as well and they all looked great. Especially my groom-so handsome. :)
This was the best experience of the whole planning events!!! They truly understood how a bride should feel about her dress. They were so excited when I found my dream dress. They were very helpful; I can't say enough great things about the ladies at Needleman's Bridal in Newport, VT!!!
I feel like I lucked out when I found my dress. I wore the desirae dress by Maggie Sottero and it was stunning. Needleman's was easy to work with from day 1. The sales person was not snooty or pushy and very realistic on how the dress fit and what size to order.
I didnt get my dress here but I had a very enjoyable shopping experience here! My appt lasted a few hours and I tried on several dresses and the experience was great for my friends and mother in law and I! the sales associate was very nice and didnt limit the amount of dresses I could try on! They made the bridal dress shopping experience everything I had hoped it would be. Had I not found my dream dress at another store they were my next choice!
They messed up a lot of the guys tuxes and 4 of te tuxes ripped when the boys sat down with it. Absolutely terrible service.
My dress, bridesmaid dresses and tuxes all were ordered through Needleman's. I was happy with how everything turned out, but had a couple of bumps during the process. (Arrival time of bm dresses, arrival of tuxes, one tux didn't come with the shoes.) Some of the sales people were fabulous, while others were not as helpful.
Deb was incredible when helping me find a gown that was affordable and flattered my body shape!
We had been in a lot of weddings that used Men's Warehouse and we were so put off by them. The people who work in that store are snakes. We used Needleman's and they were much better. They had a few tuxedos to choose from and then about a zillions colors and styles to choose from.
I found my WOW dress at Needleman's! I arrived without an appointment, to look at what they had to offer and was not turned away. My self, my daughter, and my best friend were welcomed and told to look around and they would help in any way, if we needed them. The young woman who greeted us helped me dress and undress several times, even lacing me into the dress I chose 3 times, with no complaints. It was our time and we had a lot of fun. I found a dress that fit, off the rack, which was to go on sale the next week. The manager let me buy it that day, at the sale price. At 62 years of age, I left feeling like a Princess and I felt like a Queen on my wedding day, among alot of younger guests!!!!!!!
I visited the South Burlington location and their selection was great. I didn't want to spend more than $800 and they had plenty of dresses to choose from in my price range. Their sample sales are also incredible. My best friend got her dress during one and a dress that was originally over $1000 she got for under $400! The girls there are incredibly helpful, my consultant was the one that picked the dress I ended up buying.
After trying a few other Bridal shops, Needlemans was a breath of fresh air! Their service and support was amazing. They took my likes and picked out the perfect gown for me. They stayed within my budget easily and were extremely responsive.
They were wonderful, and so patient with me as I poured over dress after dress. I had no real concept of the style of dress I was looking for, and changed my mind several times over. Always patient and wonderful to work with, they really helped me narrow my search until I finally found the dress. It was nothing like I expected I would end up with, and it was everything I ever wanted!
The entire bridal party, both groomsmen and bridesmaids purchased their dresses/tuxes through Needleman's in S. Burlington. The tuxes were fine and nothing went wrong, however the bridesmaids dresses were a disaster! Three of my four bridesmaids were local and everything worked out, one of my bridesmaids lives in AZ, when the dresses were bought I paid extra so they would ship the dress directly to AZ, they called me on three occasions to pick up the dress and every time I reminded them that the dress was to be delivered and the delivery had been paid for, everytime they would say oh yes we see that it will be sent in tomorrow's mail. Three weeks went by and I assumed that the dress had been mailed, only to find that it had still never left the store! My fiance called the store to complain and get everything worked out, the manager assured him she would call him back... she never did. My fiance then went into the store and the manager would not come out of the back room to talk to him, the girl at the counter confessed that "this happens all the time". At this point my bridesmaid dress was still at the counter of the store! My fiance took the dress and we had to pay incredibly high shipping because the wedding was just around the corner! Needleman's never refunded any money, not even the money we had paid for shipping! We tried to use a local store assuming we would get better customer service, only to get the WORST service imaginable!
I went here with my Maid of Honor looking for a wedding dress and bridal party dresses, no acknowledged us at all until we were about to walk out the door. No hi, hello, we will be right with you or anything. I'm not one that likes someone to follow me when i'm shopping I like help when I ask for it. But a Hi or hello, let us know if we can help you would have been great. Bridal Dresses all in bags so with out any help you have no idea where to start looking hard to see a dress in a bag. Will not return here again!!
After a disaster at David's Bridal with bridesmaid dresses, I went to Needleman's. I was on a tight time frame and needed dresses fast. I liked a dress that was a bit too expensive for my bridesmaids, so they helped me to find a similar dress for only $99!!! I'll continue to recommend Needleman's to my fellow brides. They are local, affordable, kind, and are especially great at customer service!
I went in looking for a romantic lace dress, thinking I wouldn't find it in this small store. But i did!!! It was the perfect dress. Plus i got a 20% discount for marrying into the army, bonus! Great store!
My wedding jewelery was supposed to be my something borrowed, but when I saw the jewelery there and the prices around $20, I was floored. They were so excited to see my enthusiasm, and were even happier to have made the sale!
The girls at Needleman's were not pushy at all. They were friendly and very helpful. I had been to other places already to look and hadn't had luck. I told them my price range and they only found me dresses within my budget so that I wouldn't be tempted to spend more. I found my dress and loved it! Shipping was as expected. I would definitely recommend going here!
Needleman's in Newport Vermont....well they are great they went above and beyond for my dress, veil and tuxes were perfectly matched to my bridesmaid dresses I had purchased elsewhere
I had wonderful customer service when I found my wedding dress (bride) at Needleman's in Burlington. The price was reasonable for a wedding gown and the service was excellent. However, when we returned to the shop for the mother of the bride dress a few weeks later; the gentleman who waited on us was not helpful at all. And it seemed like the prices had doubled. What happened?
We were looking for a lighter colored suit for a summer afternoon wedding and this was the only place that rented champagne colored suits that we could find in the Burlington, VT area. The staff was super helpful and everything came as ordered.
A Great Experience and Perfect Dress! posted 7/14/2011
I have stopped by the Needleman's in South Burlington four or five times in the past two months without an appointment and every time I was helped by a courteous and enthusiatic employee. Andie was there almost every time I showed up and despite trying on at least twenty dresses she was always energetic and helpful. I bought my dress yesterday and couldn't be happier! Thank you SO MUCH!!
I loved my wedding dress, the people at the store helped me choose it and I got the perfect dress for the perfect day!
I had originally decided to go to Needleman's because I had heard mixed reviews on other places in the area, so I thought I'd start here first.
When I arrived, I was greeted by a very pleasant, older lady. She asked me when the wedding was (to get an idea as to what the weather would be like), where it was taking place, and what I THOUGHT I wanted. I showed her a few pictures that I had taken out of magazines to show her things I liked to help us get started.
We started on a rack that was full of year old dresses (the next year dresses had already started coming out), and pulled about 7-10 dresses to get started.
As I was trying on the dresses I started getting an idea as to what I knew I didn't want. As I was decided that, the lady changed the order of how I tried them on to see if I was able to find one sooner. I was undecided between two different dresses and she took the time to go back and for a couple of times. After about an hour in the shop, I had found my dress!
We were able to get things wrapped up and I was out of the shop within 2 hours. The lady who helped made it easy and quick, thanks to her knowledge and experience.
I found the perfect dress and I tried on many. They took their time with me letting me try on the same dress many times and was very caring twords my family and their options. everything was done there which made it easy I did not have to travel anywere with my dress for alterations or steaming. We also got the Tux for the guys and everything went well.
When I fist started looking for a wedding dress I checked out a few places in my area first. Needlman's was first on my list. I went with my sister who was my maid of honor. The sales associates where very helpful but not to pushy. In the end they didn't have have I was looking for but I would recommend at least a look. In Vermont we don't have a lot in the way of wedding stores but put Needleman's on the top of your list as a good place to start.
The staff was wonderful, not too pushy, but had an opinion about what worked and what didn't. The dresses were beautiful and there were many in many different price ranges. I would definately recommend them to any woman needing THE perfect dress.
I shopped in Burlington, and when a store opened in Barre, closer to the wedding location, they were completely helpful from both locations. Andee in the Burlington store was a total sweetheart!
I loved the dress I bought at Needleman's for myself, and was even more excited about my bridesmaid dresses. The staff is very helpful. All of our dresses also came in sooner than anticipated which was great. Only dislike is that their selection is a little smaller than I would have liked.
