We had Dave and had absolutely no complaints, especially for the price! Neon Express was much more reasonably priced than anywhere else we looked. Easy to work with, fun, and played all our requested songs! Would definitely recommend!

Neon express was fantastic pricing! We had Dave for our DJ and he was very patient and chill with all our requests! He even had an amazing idea to move the music outside as it was such a hot sunny day and everyone was out doing yard games and such. We had so many compliments after about how cool it was that we had music and danced outside! Dave was great and I would recommend to anyone!

Amazing!!! Couldn't be happier! Dj Mike was amazing! He had so many fun ideas (hula hoop game, a twist on the shoe game, etc. ) and was a hit with the crowd. He played music that we enjoyed and was very engaging with the audience. Very affordable, responsive, and a great company to work with. You won't be sorry if you choose them for your wedding!

Mike did a great job as the DJ for our October 2018 wedding! He was helpful and enthusiastic in the planning process and kept the dance floor full of people dancing throughout the evening. Neon Express is a great option if you want a good quality DJ that also doesn't cost a ton of money. Great value!!

We were drawn in by the price of Neon Express. We also had the chance to go see our DJ Cory at another wedding before booking him for our wedding. We were excited based on what we saw at the wedding, but after working with him, I wish we would have gone with someone else. He and I had a call before our wedding to go over thing, but once the wedding day came, it was like he forgot everything we talked about. He went up to my husband in the middle of the ceremony and asked what song to play next, when he and I had talked about it two days before. He forgot we paid him two weeks prior to the wedding and he was very lackluster with our guests. He didn't play requests from both my parents and my husbands parents or anyone else for that matter. I also had several guests say he was rude. Music was played from Youtube, so I could have easily just made a playlist and plugged in my phone instead. Overall it wasn't the best experience and I wish we would have gone with another DJ.

I seriously wish I could give them a 10! I communicated with both Dave & Marc with Marc being our DJ. They were so easy to talk to & even accepted a hickup with a date mix up. We met with Marc before booking and knew he was a perfect choice, after we filled out forms and got them to him 5 days before the wedding it was great that he followed up, make sure he got all pronunciations right. He was beyond our expectations and we got so many compliments!!!

Overall, we were very happy with the services we received from Neon Express. The affordable price is what drew us in. After looking into them more, many people ad had great experiences with them. Options and pricing were laid out and easy to understand. We could have as much or as little say as we wanted about how the dance would go. The owner, Dave, was very responsive to answering questions and giving suggestions, but made sure to reiterate he would do whatever we would like for our day. Would recommend!

Neon Express was recommended by our reception venue. We very much liked the various options, clear and affordable pricing options. It was easy to book and pay for resulting in less stress the day of. We provided a pretty short list of what we wanted and asked more about wanting 70's-80's music as we are an older couple. I don't know if it was because DJ Kellen was much younger but he lacked awareness of what we had requested. When he played what he wanted which was clearly more his vibe the dance floor was empty. Played what we asked for, people went out. It was frustrating that despite providing clear names he announced us as the bride's last name vs. the name we provided. We were told he would contact us before the wedding to go over things and he never did. I followed up and was told he would be in touch by the end of the day--he wasn't. I finally was able to reach him and was assured that he had pulled the songs we listed (not all of them were played and again, the list was fairly short) and that he was good to go. He didn't really seem to want to go over things and the call was brief. The microphones were a little lacking on the sound. If I were to do it again, I would consider them but I would want more interaction and to make sure that the DJ assigned to our reception really knew what we had wanted vs. doing his own thing. All in all it was a wonderful evening but the music piece was just so so.

We had Mike as our DJ for the evening. He was absolutely amazing! Mike was willing to meet with us multiple times before the big day, had great ideas, and kept everything on schedule so we didn't have to worry about a thing. Everyone loved when the little kids played their scavenger hunt game!! Thank you Mike!

We had a wonderful experience with Neon Express Entertainment for our wedding! For starters, their prices are extremely affordable. After receiving the wonderful service that we did, we were amazed that the prices were as low as they are! When we met with Mike, he made us feel confident that our wedding day would go off without a hitch. We created our own playlist for the entire evening, and Mike was more than happy to accommodate this. During our wedding reception, Mike was so on top of everything. He made sure that the flow of the music was good. He also made sure that the first dances, our dollar dance, and the anniversary dance transitions went smoothly. We felt very confident and comfortable throughout the entire evening. We would highly recommend Neon Express Entertainment!

I appreciated the affordability of Neon Express, and they were very easy to work with throughout the booking and coordinating process. However, several errors were made - one of significance: the song used for the bride's processional was botched. It was clearly stated what was to occur and it did not happen. Names were mispronounced during the grand march of the bridal party into the reception - this was after a phonetic spelling of every name was provided AND the DJ went over each one with the bridal party. Not a huge deal, but after the bridal processional had been done wrong, it was a little more frustrating. We had Dave as our DJ; we had requested Marc after having heard him at another wedding and were impressed by him. We assumed the owner would be equally as good. Most of the rest of the night went smoothly but several songs were played that instantly cleared the dance floor and the microphones were old school and never worked, making him impossible to understand if he ever announced anything. We are happy with our day and evening went but I wouldn't recommend Neon Express to any of my friends getting married.

Kept the guests on the dance floor all night! We were originally unsure about the quality of a DJ with such a low price, but went to a wedding where Dave was the DJ and were assured that he would be great for ours - which he was! He played good, danceable songs all night and kept people coming back to the dance floor, the few times that they left. What we were most impressed with was how great he was at keeping us on our toes for when events should occur. He told us when dinner was going to be served, excused all the tables without us asking, told us when it was time to cut the cake, told us when the first dance songs would start, and found us when we needed to get ready for the bouquet and garter toss. We didn't have to remember anything or stay organized. We could have fun and Dave made sure we got the events done at the right time. We couldn't have asked for a better experience with a DJ and as a bonus we didn't have to break the bank to get that experience!

Great experience! We had originally booked with another DJ who was twice as much, but as we talked with him, we decided it was not a good fit. Neon Express was an excellent price and had a DJ left on our wedding day, but we never expected them to be as amazing as they were! Marc was our DJ and he was great He made sure we were getting what we wanted, was not annoying or overly involved, and went above and beyond what he had to do. He called us a few days before to touch base and sounded very confident. The planners we filled out before were really helpful to make sure they knew what we wanted. And it was seriously such a good price!!!

I had Marc as a DJ. My wife and I really like the pre-wedding prep with Marc, and his DJing the day of. Marc was willing to meet us a couple of times, earnestly listening to our requests. During the actual day of the wedding, things went very well. There was an initial issue during the first group song (after first dances) where the song cut-out and restarted, but it was not that big of a deal. Dave (the owner) was also easy to talk to. Highly Recommend

DJ Mike was great! He worked with us & our specific music lists & offered advice & tips to help us. Very budget friendly!

I had Mike as my DJ. He was fun and creative. He came up with a couple of games and ALL my guests loved it! He was very flexible. I was able to incorporate some of my culture music. The night was fun

We really enjoyed Neon Express. There was not one song played that I didn't like. Dave knows his songs and came up with a playlist based on our small must play list. Dave came early and had everything set up nicely. It was incredibly hot and humid and also poured rain on his equipment, but he still made the evening successful. We were impressed. You get a lot of value for a very reasonable price. Use Neon Express!

He did a great job playing the music and getting people out there dancing. Very personable and easy to work with. He did a great job doing what we requested: keeping the music turned down so others who weren't dancing could talk to each other. Also, the price was within our budget. We would recommend Neon Express Entertainment!

This DJ was great and very reasonably priced. He had a flat fee based on the size of the system you needed not the number of hours. He played background music through dinner for no extra charge. He is flexible and plays what you want to hear - not what he wants to play. I will use him again should I need a DJ again. He was the best value in the MSP area.

Neon Express has a system to fit all sorts of wedding sizes. We had a fairly small wedding and were able to use their smallest package and it was significantly less than $500. It's a small company with only a handful of DJs, but they are so great about meeting with you. We got a very personal playlist, and they were able to give input for keeping people entertained. We worked with Scott, and very pleased with the service. We got a lot of bang for our buck. The only downside was that his microphone wasn't the clearest, so it was a little difficult to understand when he was sending tables to the buffet. But he actually came out and dismissed the tables in person for us! Great service, great value.

Dave from Neon Express provided the music for our ceremony and reception. He did a great job with the music cues and I had absolutely no worries about the music. He was professional and flexible with last minute changes. Highly recommended.

The dj did a great job, just seemed to take it out on me how unsatisfied he was with the location. He used their system and had some problems with it...but I had other things to do at my wedding than hear complaints about something I had no control over.

was inexpensive which was huge for us..we got the projector/screen which was a let down..he couldnt get out slideshow to work on his computer so i had to lug mine there and use that for the slideshow, and he played it at the wrong time. music selection and what he played was great

We had DJ Scott, who was good and accomodated our requests. The only thing is that some songs were played more than once accidentally, and sometimes the music would come to a halting stop once started, or during a song another song would blast through during a dance. I think he might have been previewing the next song to play, but it was a little distracting. Overall their prices are great though for what you get.

I was very happy with Dave. He arrived way before people started to come at the reception and had everything in order and ready to go. He did a great job introducing us during the Grand March. He is very experienced and we're so happy we picked him!!! He knows what music to play for your type of crowd. VERY affordable. we went with the 350 package and it was great.

We were drawn to this DJ service because of the low price. We had been at a wedding with this DJ service previously and were impressed with the quality so we opted to use them for our wedding. We had one meeting in person with the DJ prior to the event, which went very well; but when questions came up and changes were requested a few weeks prior to the wedding, there was no acknowledgement of the specific changes despite numerous attempts to reach the DJ. This ultimately led to an incorrect mother-son dance song. Also, there were several times when the music was way too loud for the speakers and was clipping. This was not a problem for the entire dance, but when it happened, the DJ was away from his booth, so the songs sounded bad for an extended period of time. There must not have been a sound check for the dinner music because as guests were finding their seats, the music started blaring out of the house speakers for a minute or so until it was finally turned down. Despite these mishaps, we still had a great time. The introduction of the wedding party was done very well, the cocktail music was great, and the dance floor was packed all night.

Initially, they were very easy to work with. Explained the whole process and planning and basically told us that we could customize our entire dance with the music we wanted. On the day of the wedding, the DJ kept coming up to ask us lots of questions. During our first dance as a couple, some of his equipment starting making a beeping/alarm sound. It lasted the entire dance and ruined our first song. Then during the dance, we had some weird musical selections that didn't really make sense for a wedding dance. Easy to work with and cheap but would not recommend him. Wasn't overall happy with their services.

The DJ was responsive to questions beforehand. He checked with me during the reception to make sure I was happy. Excellent value.

Dave was very friendly and very reasonably priced. He listened to all of our requests and was very prompt in returning calls/emails. He knew what to play to keep the crowd happy! Never an empty dance floor!

I was very impressed with Dave at Neon Express, he kept to my list and kept the party moving, my only compaint is the timing of the ceremony songs were a bit off but all in all was very impressed with them.

Decent DJ for the price we paid.

I was worried that this was a 'you get what you pay for' mistake, but they were worth at least 3 times what we paid them!

Almost everyone danced at my wedding, even people who I wouldn't expect to! The dance floor was packed the entire night and I think I only sat out one dance to rest my feet! The DJ was great and played great music and knew how to get the guests on the dance floor! He was also extremely reasonably priced! I couldn't find anyone else as reasonable!

A/A- Dave was great. He was super energetic and kept a good flow of music throughout the night. The only complaints were 1) that we had specifically told him that we had our first dance choreographed and to make sure to wait until we were out on the floor and ready before we started. He did this, but then started the song about 3 lines in which started us quite far into the dance and really threw DH off so he screwed up a few of the moves 2) The music was REALLY loud and staid REALLY loud despite us sending people up to ask him to turn it down a bit. Again, nothing that ruined the night and I’d definitely recommend him for the price that we paid.

We had Marc as our dj and he was amazing! He played everything we wanted and was super fun to work with. He was professional and everything was set up well, plus our guests said it was one of the best dances they had ever been to. He even found the Vikings theme song that we wanted and played that. Every aspect of our music at the reception was great and I didn't have to worry about a thing on the day of.

The owner of this company is great and very helpful. If I had any questions or concerns he was there to address it right away. The DJ we got was very nice and it seemed he did his best to keep everyone entertained.

Dave was awesome - played exactly the songs we asked for, kept the dance floor packed, and played all the requests by (intoxicated) guests kept bugging him for. Very professional service and very worth it for the price.

We were originally supposed to have Dave (the owner) DJ our wedding, but a last minute issue came up and he scheduled us with one of his back up DJ's, Scott. I had talked to Scott the week prior to the wedding and everything seemed set to go. I turned in a list of must play/Do not play songs as well as a schedule/time line of events during the reception with the songs we wanted played for specific events. Scott used very outdated equipment (only CDs) and did not seem to want to be there. He did not play our cake cutting song, started playing the wrong song during the mother/son dance, and did not have or play more than half the songs on our MUST play list and then played a song on our Do NOT play list. One song we wanted played was a very special song that has a lot of meaning to us and he just didn't have it and when I questioned him about it, he had an attitude. Also, the song we wanted to be played last was Shout-which he had, but it skipped and was unplayable. Overall, he did ok, and we along with our friends all had a great time, but we weren't thrilled. I must note though, that after talking to Dave following the wedding, he refunded us our $50 deposit for the issues and apologized for our below par service.

When I saw the price of this vendor, I thought it was too good to be true. And it was. The guy showed up with CDs (ummmm really?) and would start playing a song for like 10 seconds, decide it's not the song he thought he was playing, and then randomly started playing another song. The CDs skipped about every 30 minutes. It was awful.

There were a few things that could have gone better with our DJ. During our ceremony the bridal party music came to an abrupt halt and then had moments of silence before my music started, rather than fading nicely from one in to the other. Also the music for the unity candle lighting didn't start until we were almost done lighting it and then it faded out right away rather than playing entirely. During dinner things seemed to move slowly (getting speeches, cake cutting, dances etc) so a lot of people were getting up and moving around. Lastly, 2 'activities' or requests that I wanted to have done that night never happened even though we specifically discussed them more than once. But they are by far the lowest priced DJ service I found so I guess you can't really expect flawless service for such a discount.

We had Dave as our DJ for the night (owner also). He did a good job for the most part. We meet with him before the ceremony and he is an odd fellow. Very helpful with explaining typical timelines for wedding music and has planning sheets that helped us a lot. He was very slow in setting up the mic and speakers for the ceremony--we even had to start late. He did a decent job on the dance floor--it was packed most of the night. Quality is good (several systems to choose from) and they are the cheapest DJ in town ($350 for the standard system). Overall, good job.

The DJ did save my butt because I had forgotten to give him our dance song but he thankfully pulled off and I'm very grateful! He did talk a little more than I would have like but he kept the dance floor full so I was overall happy!

Dave played a lot of the more obscure requests we had for music. He did a good job, playing music, keeping people on the dance floor, not doing too much talking or putting on any other kind of show than what we hired him for. We were happy with the service and the value, however, was disappointed that several songs skipped - seems in the age of digital music, that shouldn't be happening. Oh well, the price couldn't be beat, and I bet none of my guests remember that small annoyance in an otherwise wonderful evening.

Played the music we requested but professionalism lacked.

We were so thrilled with our experience working with Neon Express. We first emailed them for a quote and were so impressed with the decent prices. We did not have the company owner, Dave, as our DJ, since he was already booked the day of our wedding. So he sent his associate, Mark. Mark was fabulous. He was friendly, he was personable and he was very professional. He even called us 2 days before our wedding to go through all of the details and specifics. He was great about not playing anything on my "Do Not Play" list and was equally as accommodating in trying to fit in all of my "Must Play" songs. He kept the dance floor packed all evening, all the way to the very end of the event. I highly recommend Neon Express for their service and awesome DJ, Mark!
