g her first visit was excellent. The seamstress who completed all the fittings was excellent and did excellent work. And yes, this store has an excellent selection of dress to choose from. My main reason for giving 3 stars is the very poor advice given us by the consultant who assisted my daughter when she committed to her dress and placed the order. The dress she was trying on was at least 3 sizes too big. In order to determine what size to order, the consultant measured my daughter, then brought a size 8 dress by the same designer, but not the same dress. It was still too big, and the consultant stated that according to the measurements my daughter was between a 6 and and 8. Her advice was to go with the smaller size. That should have raised huge red flags for me, but we were all caught up in the moment. When the dress arrived, we couldn't even get it zipped initially. When they did get it zipped, she couldn't breathe. They insisted they could let it out, but when we met with the seamstress, she pointed out that there was very little seam allowance. In the end, they were able to let it out just enough, but my daughter admitted to me after the wedding that she really couldn't take a deep breath. I worried throughout the fitting process that the dress would not be able to be made big enough. My daughter had to watch her weight fastidiously in the months before the wedding. The advice of that one consultant caused both my daughter and I hours of stress and worry, needlessly. My advice is YOU CAN ALWAYS TAKE AWAY FABRIC, BUT YOU CAN'T ADD IT BACK!!! This consultant bragged to us about all her years in bridal, but her advice sure didn't reflect that. I had no recourse to go back to the store about this, because they make you sign off on what your ordering. But learn from our lesson, wherever you get your dress - DON'T ORDER DOWN A SIZE!!!! And don't blindly take advice from a consultant because you believe them to be knowledgeable.

he absolute best consultant there is. Not only can she “read” your body like none other but she can perfectly envision your special day and your wedding dress vision and goals. She makes you feel supported and beautiful throughout the entire process and can add/takeaway to any dress to make them unique and personalized to you! She has the sweetest heart and she is so incredibly knowledgeable. I recommend any bride to go see Wendy at NY Bride and Groom!

I sent in pictures of ideas I was looking at which truthfully was all over the place, yet Julie found the perfect dresses for me to try on. I also got to go around and pick my own dresses to try on. As a plus sized woman who struggles with finding things I’m comfortable in, Julie made this experience so comfortable. She was so positive but realistic which is exactly what I needed. The dress I went with was one that Julie picked out for me and the second I had it on and looked in the mirror a wash of calmness came over me…I knew. Before I even said anything Julie saw that it was the one and pulled out a vail to complete the look. Her knowledge, attentiveness, and calmness made this experience amazing. I cannot recommend Julie or NY Bride of Raleigh enough!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Bri made sure the dresses were fit to give the best look while trying them on!! She felt like a part of the family and made the experience phenomenal! I had been to three shops prior ranging in customer service but this was BY FAR SUPERIOR! I love the fitting rooms that have a lounge inside for family! Very intimate to showcase the dress while not having a whole store looking at you. The whole staff was very knowledgeable and VERY friendly! I felt like we all shared my vision for what dress I wanted and I ended up finding it at this shop!!! You ring a gong after finding the dress which was so neat! Plus size selections were amazing!!

She is also very friendly and welcoming and the whole team there seems to be so cohesive and work together so well that they step in and help each other with anything in a seconds notice before even being asked. They also have so many dresses and such a wide selection. Everyone gets a private room with a little sitting area for your group and changing area for you that is private. They help you put on the dress and will happily help you with anything you need help with! They are a locally owned bridal store and truly amazing caring people.

So when Bailey met me at the door and I was already in tears, she said hang on…..let me get the perfect person for you. And indeed that’s what happened… Julie (Fairy God Mother!!!!!!) helped me…..as a 55-year-old woman, trying to find a dress for myself. The experience was absolutely, incredible!!! These people are MORE than any other bridal shops you have been to. I’m here to tell you…. I was ready to just embrace a pair of shorts and a tank top, or just a silly little sundress. They made me feel amazing and beautiful and helped me pick out exactly what would fit for my body style. And then I came back with my daughter, and together, for a second time, we both experienced the same thing! My husband ordered a custom suit and the staff members were incredibly patient with our many requests and changes. We felt we had made new friends by the end of the process! accommodate my shopping group on a busy summer Saturday. I also used NYBG alterations for the dress that I found there, and I was SO happy with the end results! My dress required hemming, a bustle for a very long train, straps shortened and brought in, waist brought in, and cups added. I was a little worried at first since the dress had a lot of beading and delicate lace in all of those areas (with crepe for the rest of the dress), but my seamstress did an absolutely amazing job. I was a bit pricey, but she clearly knew what she was doing, and I left my first fitting appointment feeling confident that she would do a good job. And she did an excellent job! Overall it was great working with this store and their entire team :)

The selection is wide and there are colored tags that help you determine price point so there’s no surprises. In my first appt, I was there for over two hours trying to find the right one. The employees who work there are positive, patient and happy to work with you. I actually went to a second bridal salon “just to be sure” I had found the right one - and I couldn’t wait to leave there and go back to NYB&G! I felt listened to, cared about as a bride, and I also did alterations there which were easy to schedule and affordable. Thank you for helping me find my dream wedding dress and making it such an enjoyable experience for me, my family and my maid of honor! I recommend any of my engaged friends to go there!

I loved the big mirrors that were able to show the dress at every angle. The prices were very reasonable!!! I was very surprised and the dresses were in great quality! Each dress was different and unique, and the staff will not stop helping you until you have found the one (not in a pushy car salesman way, but you’ll feel like you made an appointment and you’re the only one in the store). The store layout and design of the business is pretty cool too; a cute little white dog walking around, hair ties in the front, a HUGE dressing room with no wait or appointment, and a 3 sided mirror with lighting that enhances your dress from every angle. Once you choose the one, you even get a little gift to take with you. Amazing experience. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
