This is one of the easiest reviews I can write and easily 5 stars. I hired Nikki towards the end of wedding planning and I am SO thankful I did. She was a pleasure to work with, answered all of our questions, and helped us through our vision. Beyond that, she was AMAZING day. Our wedding day the most special day of our lives and I truly believe that was because of Nikki. She coordinates with vendors so everyone is on the same page, executed every detail perfectly, and looked out for us throughout the day. I would recommend Nikki to anyone and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with her!

If I could rate Nikki 6 STARS I would! She turned our vision of a wedding into literal perfection. Incredibly easy to work with, phenomenal communication, and flawless execution. We could not have asked for a better day of coordinator. She removed all worry the day of, and the day was magical.

It would be impossible to find a wedding planner that does a better job than Nikki! My husband and I got married in October of this year, and Nikki helped us make the wedding day absolutely perfect. We hired her last year in the summer, even before we were engaged, because we knew we wanted her to be the one helping us plan our wedding. She also worked as the wedding planner for my sister’s wedding a few years back, so we already knew how amazing she was to work with. After having my own experience with planning and working with Nikki, I could not give a more stellar review of how it is to have Nikki on your team. Throughout the whole planning process, which for us spanned a little over a year, Nikki was always available to chat, bounce ideas, give suggestions, talk through problems, and recommend other vendors. She gave us recommendations for videographers, hair and makeup, and a DJ, and they were all the best people to work with. I would run so many decisions by her, whether it be in picking decorations, deciding setups for flowers, orders of events, and so much more. She always had suggestions for any of my questions, and her vast experience in wedding planning speaks for itself. She knows how everything should happen and when, and who should be where when it needs to be done. Nikki also helped coordinate all of our vendors for the wedding day, making sure to stay in contact with them to ensure that everyone was set for arrival and knew where and what they needed to do. She worked with our venue’s coordinator as well on the day of the wedding and made sure everything was in place and on time. I gave her boxes of decorations and miscellaneous items with limited instructions for setup, and she set everything up in our reception hall just beautifully. My stress was so minimal on the day of our wedding because I knew Nikki was on top of everything, and if anything was to go wrong, she would know how to fix it. Seriously, every part of the day turned out exactly how we envisioned, and we have Nikki to thank for it. She is so sweet and understanding, and it is obvious that she places top priority on making your wedding day perfect for you. She goes above and beyond wedding planner expectations and treats you like family. I would HIGHLY recommend Nikki for any wedding planning - she is the best at what she does!

You need Nikki!! I 100% thought I could handle the planning process on my own, I was 100% wrong. I was so overwhelmed and paralyzed with how much I needed to do. Once I hired Nikki, she stepped right in and got the ball rolling and. Once she was on my side the planning process became fun. I could go on and on, but the last thing i'll say is that our day was BEYOND a dream and I couldn't have done it with out her.

Nikki Johns Events made my wedding the best event I could have imagined. I was engaged for 2 years and had Nikki with me from the very beginning, and being the planning bride that I was Nikki knocked my wedding dreams out of the park!! We had Nikki help us from the start of our planning since we were living out of the state for the first 6 months of planning. She did an absolute awesome job at communication, identifying our style, and anticipating needs. It made the process so much more manageable and decreased our stress levels significantly. Her persistence with making sure vendors were on the same page made our life easy throughout the weeks coming up to the wedding. She quickly jumped in and helped seamlessly coordinate with all of our vendors and got everything in order bringing a huge sense of relief to us. Just had my wedding on 9.23.23. I went back and forth about whether or not I needed a day of coordinator and I am so happy that I ended up going through with it! I found Nikki John’s Events on Facebook and after the great reviews I reached out. I worked closely with Nikki herself for a few meetings, and had Jen for my day of coordinator. Nikki was very responsive anytime I needed her prior to my wedding date and also helped me with my wedding timeline. Jen was absolutely outstanding! I could not have asked for a better experience. Jen spoke with me over the phone to review final details. She also was very responsive by text. Jen saved the day at my ceremony when my florist shorted me three boutonnières for the dads/ Grandpas. She quickly made three boutonnières without me even knowing that this happened. She also called all the vendors the morning of to make sure everyone was coming, and notified me that my officiant thought my ceremony was 1pm instead of 12:30. If it wasn’t for Jen my officiant would’ve been late! Jen also did an outstanding job setting up my reception as well at the ceremony site. She was so nice and helpful. My family and I had nothing but nice things to say. Jen checked on me and my husband prior to leaving to make sure she was not needed for anything else. She also grabbed us drinks while we were lined up for our grand entrance! So, if you are like me and thinking if you should hire a day of coordinator… do it! You will not regret it 😊 Thank you Nikki & Jen for the great experience!

Nikki is AMAZING! We had backyard reception in early October and needed a lot of help with planning/coordinating and Nikki truly brought our vision to life. Throughout the planning process she was an excellent communicator, organized, very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful in giving us guidance when making decisions about the wedding. When I started to worry that we bit off more than we could chew in planning a backyard reception, she provided reassurance that it would all come together--and it truly did thanks to her hard work and talent! On our wedding day she was on top of every little detail. I still say that I am shocked the day went as smoothly as it did, but I have no doubt that was due to Nikki and her excellent communication and coordination skills. If something came up, she was on it without me and my husband even knowing about it. Because of her, we did not have to worry about a thing on our wedding day and truly could sit back and enjoy the day. Not only is she amazing at her job, she is an incredibly kind and genuine person and a true pleasure to work with! Even my other vendors commented on how much they enjoy working with Nikki. Thank you Nikki, for bringing our vision to life and being such an important part of our special day that we will cherish forever!

I feel so fortunate to have found and hired Nikki to help with my daughter's wedding Dec 3, 2022. Nikki was our first contact with a planner and based on the fact that she answered her phone, plus our impression from our initial phone conversation we never looked further. Nikki knew all the right areas where we would need help and kept us on track. We had some trouble coordinating with our baker, and Nikki took care of that issue for us. Two Zoom conferences the last month were so helpful. Nikki did follow up calls to all of the vendors, coordinating times etc with each, leading up to the date. Nikki was invaluable for the rehearsal as we did not have a church/conventional ceremony. The day of Nikki was on-site early and took care of a last minute glitch that otherwise would have been up to us. Nikki was a calming force the day of, and kept us all on schedule and informed on where we needed to be when. Nikki also helped the set-up crew and cake baker with decisions on where things should best be. Nikki had one staff helper with her, who was competent and very friendly, and helped us gather items we were taking home at the end of the evening, which was so helpful so we could enjoy the wedding. The day went perfectly. Nikki's always-smiling, "it will all be fine, I'll take care of it" personality helped with the stress of the day. We were free to enjoy our guests and the party. I wholeheartedly recommend Nikki. Without Nikki the day would have been so much more stressful, we wouldn't have had time to enjoy the wedding, and I'm sure it would not have gone as well as it did. Nikki was invaluable!

My husband and I got married at the Eastern in Detroit in late August and Nikki was our wonderful wedding planner and coordinator. We have absolutely no idea what we would have done without the help of Nikki and her team throughout the process. From the very start, she was extremely helpful, professional, and organized. She was knowledgable about all aspects of wedding planning and helped with selecting a venue, communicating with our vendors, developing a budget, and orchestrating events on the day of our wedding. She made sure that the day went off without any problems and rearranged the entire venue from a ceremony space to reception space during our cocktail hour. Nikki and her team were amazing! We had a quite the celebration with 2 ceremonies a lunch and traditional reception as well as a rehersal dinner the evening before and everything went smoothly thanks to Nikki! When we first spoke she mentioned she had never done an Indian wedding before but was willing to learn and do what it took - she more than delivered! She not only made sure the day ran smoothly and on time, she took care of the little things and put us, our families, and bridal parties at ease. I only wish I had hired her earlier in the planning process!

Nikki's commitment out the gate to take on our wedding (despite having only a couple of months til the big day)... immediately, reflected her and her team's tenacity, dedication, and confidence in being able to deliver the vision we sought. The entire process was absolutely efficient and seemless. Whether through text, phone calls, zoom, and in-person meetings Nikki and her team were absolutely amazing. Even more so, on the big day - Nikki and her team took charge and immediately knew how to handle all logistics surrounding the venue, special requests, vendors, and the wedding party. She will hand-hold anyone through the entire planning process. Her and her network will be be able to deliver on any request desired. I can't write enough amazing things about Nikki and her team! & yes, TEAM! I had 3 coordinators on-site on my wedding day to help! Amanda, the lead coordinator, was great and she knew when to bring things to me and when to go to my bridal party. I hired Nikki for her month of coordination and didn't know what to expect. I had my few calls with her before the month-start and she help me realize all of the little details I hadn't thought of yet! I really appreciated that I could meet with her for advice outside of "month-of." Then once the final month hit, Nikki was on it! Emailing all of my vendors, coordinating final tasks & asking questions I hadn't yet asked! I didn't realize how involved she would get and how much I would need her help! She was punctual and kept me in the loop on everything happening! Now for my day-of: My shuttle service I originally booked did not show up to pick me and my bridesmaids up to take us to the venue at 1pm! I had another shuttle service at 2:25pm & ~4:15pm to take family & guests so it was crucial I find another service. I tried to handle it myself which was really stressful, but then I contacted Amanda ~1:30pm with the problem & in LESS THAN 30MIN, Nikki was able to book a new shuttle service that was able to arrive to the hotel in time to pick up my family at 2:25pm!! Being able to trust Amanda and Nikki to handle everything on my wedding day made it so much more enjoyable. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have them to help me. If you are on the fence about a coordinator or debating between possible vendors, I urge you to hire Nikki Johns Events!!

Nikki was with us every step of the way through planning from recommending and booking vendors to making a specific wedding day timeline, which made the process so much smoother and less stressful. Nikki was a life saver the day of my wedding! I am so happy I hired her as my day of coordinator. She set everything up at my venue just as I envisioned it and seamlessly took over all of my previous planning. I had a 2 year engagement and through that time I kept hearing other brides tell me it’s a good idea to hire a coordinator. I felt like I had it handled though. Well 30 days before my wedding date, all the small details piled on and questions came my way from vendors, timeline confusion and I realized this is why everyone said to have a coordinator! I was referred to Nikki Johns Events and submitted my information online. I heard back immediately and that night had a zoom call set up with Nikki. She is so so sweet and has great energy. She made me feel like I actually was way more organized than I thought and validated my other vendor choices. I didn’t give it a second thought and booked her immediately. SO HAPPY I BOOKED. I met with Nikki and who would be my day of coordinator (Jen), 2 weeks before the wedding. We met in person and sat and chatted for I think and hour and a half. They created my timeline for me which I didn’t realize is such a stress but working with them it was such a weight lifted off my shoulders. They got all my details and answered so many questions I had. I went home from our meeting feeling so relaxed and ready for our wedding. The day of Jen was there at 1:30 right before our first look and came with Taylor. They were my fairy godmothers through the day just making sure things ran smoothly. I didn’t have to worry about anything. They set everything up for me, got all my details together, cleaned up the bridal suite, wrangled the groomsmen together for where they needed to be. Closer to the end of the night Jen got my attention that she was ready to head out and confirmed all our decorations and boxes we had stored in the bridal suite were put away. She had taken everything to our parents car so we didn’t have to clean up once 11:30 hit. Just amazing. I cannot even believe I was potentially not going to have a day of coordinator. Hiring Nikki and Jen was probably the smartest thing I did. If you are on the fence about it, do it. If you think you don’t have it in your budget, find room. You need the help and the support of these ladies. I genuinely am so appreciative and thankful they were with me for my big day.

Nikki- honestly, my life saver! If anyone is even *thinking* of getting a coordinator, PLEASE, please ,please do yourself a favor and hire this girl immediately! From me asking random questions to freaking out about small details, she was there 100% of the way. We had a meeting to discuss timelines, she had suggestions regarding vendors, and on the day of my wedding, I had absolutely ZERO stress thanks to this wonderful human! She spoke with all of my vendors that we brought in ourselves and handled any issues/questions throughout the whole day! Did I mention my wedding was outside and we had flash floods and tornado warnings?! Nikki handled everything! I can not thank her enough!

We highly recommend Nikki! As Mother of the groom I was honored to be asked to help my plan our sons wedding. I have a background in special events but knew we needed, professional to help. Want to have a stress free experience planning wedding? Blindly searching for a venue, caterer, DJ, rentals etc a lot of work. Nikki knows the venues and vendors and offered terrific advice and guidance from day 1. The Wedding was rescheduled twice because of restrictions and ended up being at our lake home. Nikki contacted all vendors and was able to switch everything in 5 months! Nikki tracked all of the details so my daughter in law and I had no concerns or stress during planning and especially on the day!

We chose Nikki to be our wedding planner and it was the best decision we could have made! She was extremely helpful in helping us sort through all of our venue options and finding the right one within our budget, she was fantastic at coordinating with all of our vendors so we didn't have to, and most of the she'd worked with before, like Great Oaks Country Club, Vivano's, and Mike Staff Events. Nikki was very responsive, organized and on top of it, and very sweet and great to work with! She was amazing on the day of and everything turned out perfect because of her. 10/10 recommend her if you are looking for a planner or even just a day-of coordinator!

I was honored to work with you Nikki as mother of the bride for a bridal shower that she so professionally, and Thusi asked Stickley, and proficiently, planned and prepared. I could text her anytime of day or night about the littlest things to the largest things she would immediately contact the venue and rectify or reassure any needs that I had!! Nikki was amazing and I am appreciative beyond belief. She made my experience so nice to be able to focus on my daughter and her special day. Nikki could coordinate with the linen company, the venue, the florist, the bakery etc. and communicated to me every step of the way. Also her taste is impeccable. Words cannot begin to describe what a blessing it was to have Nikki as our wedding planner! From the initial meeting to our wedding day, Nikki played a huge role in making our planning both fun and stress-free. She was so invested in my now-husband and I as a couple and truly wanted to make our day the absolute best in could be. Our wedding day ended up being quite different being that it was in the middle of a pandemic; however, Nikki was so helpful and supportive during the constant change and uncertainty. She was consistently in contact with our vendors and made us aware of any and all updates. Not only that, she was so encouraging and understanding when we ended up having to cancel our reception and have a very small, intimate ceremony at my parents’ house instead. Nikki was outstanding! She planned and executed an outdoor wedding at my home for 25 people in six weeks! She took care of everything including the caterers, bartender, tents, tables etc. She is very easy and pleasant to work with and was was always available. I would definitely ask her to help me in the future!

Jenna was amazing with our wedding being the day of coordinator. She spent so much time with us helping us ensure we knew what to do and that we were at the right place. She came to the wedding right at 12:30pm (wedding started at 5pm), stayed through all the crazy parts and dinner/dances. She helped set up all of our ornaments, baskets, gift table, place card tables, and made sure everyone was where they needed to be at all times. At one point, the groom almost saw the bride (me) and Jenna was able to get him out of the way/out of sight in time (the groom decided to do a walk to the bathroom and didn’t tell anyone). She assisted and led us through the full process on when to enter, making sure the doors opened when they did, getting us drinks when needed, getting the photos we wanted, and coordinating everywhere I couldn’t be (because I was getting my hair done, makeup, and photos). I didn’t even need to stress, because she texted me while decorating if she had questions or concerns. We had a guest bring a plus one that wasn’t planned, we were able to quickly solve it thanks to her. I highly recommend Jenna and Nikki from Nikki events and will continue to recommend her to our friends and family!

When we set out to plan our wedding, we had initially planned to have a family member or friends do the day-of coordination. As we planned the wedding more and more we realized how stressful and impossible this would be. When we started to look for a wedding coordinator, we were immediately smitten by Nikki’s expertise, professionalism, and infectious enthusiasm. We immediately knew she was the right person to help make our perfect day come to life. Even though we only hired her for day-of coordination services, Nikki was always available for questions, advice, and a comforting shoulder to lean on. Every time we got off of the phone with Nikki, or left a meeting with her, my wife and I would look at each other and let out a sigh of relief. We knew that we were in good hands. When the day of the wedding came, Nikki and her partner Shay were amazing. They had every single detail prepared and planned down to the tee, and they made sure everything was perfect even when things had potential to go wrong. Before we were even introduced to her, Shay was straightening out my wife’s veil and fixing her hair. During the first dance, I hadn’t realized I had frosting on my sleeve, and before anyone could notice, Shay swooped in and wiped my sleeve down as fast as lightening and made it so somehow nobody noticed her. Nikki Johns and her team are miracle workers and will make your wedding as magical as you always dreamed it would be.

Nikki Johns Events made planning our Eastern Market wedding a simple and enjoyable experience for us. Overwhelmed by choosing a venue that required us to bring in everything from outside vendors and both of us having demanding work schedules, we decided that it would be best to work with a wedding planner. And we're so happy that we choose Nikki Johns Events to help us. Knowing that most people find planning a wedding stressful and time-consuming, I was surprised by how easy working with Nikki Johns Events made the process. Nikki has a pragmatic approach in her planning and a thorough system for making sure all details are covered. With a few in-person meetings and emails, Nikki helped us bring the wedding we were imagining to life. The best part is we were still able to do the things that we found fun about planning a wedding and leave the more tedious tasks to Nikki. The day-of coordination was executed exactly as discussed and exceed our expectations. It was so nice to enjoy the morning of the wedding day with our family and friends knowing that all of the set-up was being handled for us. The professionalism of the Nikki Johns Events staff continued throughout the evening, from handling any unexpected challenges that popped up to making sure the ceremony ran smoothly. It really made us feel like our only responsibility was to have fun and celebrate! I would highly recommend budgeting for a wedding planner for your wedding, specifically Nikki Johns Events. We loved Nikki so much! My husband and I were living in Chicago and getting married in Detroit and she helped make an amazing wedding possible in less than a year! She was always very flexible with our schedules and always made time for us whether over the phone or when we were in town last minute. Her fun and relaxed but professional personality along with her experience and connections in the area were exactly what we were looking for! She made wedding planning a fun experience for me and the wedding day a fun experience for everyone!

Nikki and the other ladies that work for her are so worth it! We had Jen helping us on the day of our wedding and she was so great. She supervised the setup of the reception space, the setup of the church, and sent us pictures during the whole thing to make sure everything was in the right spot. She even transported things to the different locations as well. She even helped us order food for the band since we didn't realize that we needed to! She seriously helped to make our day stress free and made it so we didn't have to have a friend or family member do all of this for us.

I had an absolutely amazing experience with Nikki Johns Events! I had Shea as my day of coordinator and let me just tell you guys YOU NEED A DAY OF COORDINATOR. I was pretty frugal with many things for my wedding, but my sister talked me into hiring Nikki And I am SO HAPPY I did! She literally saved the day and was soo amazingly helpful. You don’t realize how many little things there is to do the day of and having someone that is your go to that day that is hired and not related to you or anything is priceless! I can’t brag enough or stress enough how much you need to hire a day of coordinator and how pleased I was with hiring Shea from Nikki Johns Events! Thank you SO much for everything! You guys were a true blessing from God!

We appreciate Nikki’s contribution to our wedding day. We hired Nikki as a day of coordinator to assist in taking a little off our plates on the day of our wedding. She was an asset, especially when it came to the timeline and timing of the day. She brought to our attention a lot details that would have been missed. The only criticism that we have was her arrival time to the venue on day of the wedding. However, our overall experience with Nikki was a positive one and we would recommend her services.

Initially I fought my wife on hiring a wedding planner, but once again, she was right. As soon as we started working with Nikki, I knew we made the right decision. She has a passion for what she does, she really cared about saving us money as if it was her own money, she was very professional, and very easy to communicate with. My friend who has recently gotten married, made the mistake of not hiring a day of coordinator. Let's just say I learned from her misfortune. I called Nikki and instantly clicked with her. Working with her was fun and made me feel so much better. I was extremely stressed out at one point, but she gladly helped me through my struggles. I feel like she went above and beyond for me, but I'm sure she does that for all her clients. Our wedding day was 1000% what I have always dreamed of and I honestly couldn't have done it without Nikki.

I had the wonderful experience of working with one of Nikki's coordinators, Maddy, to assist in the November 11, 2017 wedding of my daughter. The reception hall was not available until one hour before guests arrived and, of course, we were at the church at that time. We had prepared our own centerpieces, guest table book, etc; but due to time constraints, we could not envision how we could be two places at once. Well, Maddy was a God-send! She arrived much earlier than anticipated and actually came to the hotel where we were getting ready. Marissa was so happy to see her and immediately some of her nerves were quieted down. Maddy headed to the hall and just took charge. We walked into the hall after the church ceremony and were astounded by the beautiful presentation of all the items we had so carefully created. The centerpieces were placed with care, all floating candles lit, the “memory table” set up beautifully as well as the sign in area. Signs directing guests were placed appropriately and I just cannot say how pleased and excited we were to see how much time and attention Maddy had paid to every detail. It was truly stunning! And we hadn’t had to lift one finger!! I certainly highly recommend Maddy Messerly as an efficient and conscientious event planner as well as a kind and warm individual who was extremely easy to work with.

I am so happy I hired a Day of Coordinator for my wedding! It was so great to be able to sit back, relax, enjoy the day and take it all in instead of worrying about if things were being set up, if vendors were arriving, etc. Nikki and her team handled everything from the rehearsal night to the end of the wedding day and everything went PERFECTLY. I couldn't have imagined a better day. It is a day I will cherish for the rest of my life and I am so thankful I had Nikki & Maddy there to help!

Oh Nikki, what I would have done without this girl! Nikki was the first wedding planner I called shortly after I got engaged, we immediately clicked but I felt I needed to still call around. I should've just trusted my intuition. When we discussed what I needed she suggested I get the all-inclusive wedding package. I was hesitant because of the price, but Nikki said two things that sold me. She said with this package it was "whatever you need, I got you" and then I asked if she offered a military discount. She immediately said yes, being married to a firefighter she could appreciate our military. Nikki wasn't lying when she said she was there for me for whatever I needed. Living in D.C. and planning a wedding in Detroit, it was important for me to make sure that all my trips back to Detroit were as productive as possible. She would give me a list of all the things I needed to take care of, visited all the vendors with me or for me if I wasn't around, and overall just helped to ease my stress when I felt overwhelmed. Most importantly Nikki was honest, she would tell me if she felt a quote was too high and would shop around to make sure I got the best prices. Her attention to detail is top notch, helped me with everything and things I didn't know I needed, can't recommend Nikki enough. Nikki had a couple family emergencies during the planning process, but she made sure she told me in advance, and made sure I was still taken care of in the planning process. Even if you don't hire Nikki for her full services, at the very least, get her for day-of-coordination. She did everything for me, ran out to buy things I had forgot about. It was such a relief to only contact Nikki the day of instead of dealing with multiple vendors. If you don't hear from Nikki for a day or two, I never had anxiety about it, just trust that she's still working behind the scenes for you. Nikki is attentive, thoughtful, detail-oriented, professional, courteous, everything you could want in a planner.
