NJOY Event Planning

This review is more of a 3.5. Overall, Nancy and her team did a great job of executing the events for our wedding weekend. We had an Indian Wedding in Vermont, which is certainly a challenge in itself. It's true that Nancy does print out every email/photo/etc that you send her so she has it day of. She also was very kind and supportive when we were considering pushing our wedding due to a significant health event in a close family member. I'm giving a more measured review because I think there certainly were things in the planning process that could have been better. The price we were quoted for our partial planning package was half of what we ultimately paid. Though I did plan a majority of my wedding, every email informing Nancy of something I had planned for her team to execute cost me. At the end of the day, the price is what it was but receiving a bill two days before my wedding of double what I expected to pay, without any prior warning, was distressing. Additionally, the week of the wedding I was asked by Nancy to book her team a hotel room at my venue, which was completely booked at that point. Once again, very unexpected and really difficult timing for me. There also were times when Nancy re-did some of the spreadsheets I had already spent time creating, but her versions had missing or inaccurate information and I had to communicate directly with the venue multiple times to reconcile the conflicting documents. I also was charged by Nancy for redoing the work I had already meticulously and accurately done. For that reason, if you're someone who can do a lot of planning on your own, I'm not sure if the full or partial planning packing is high value. The day-of was certainly when Nancy and her team shined. Everything looked beautiful and mostly went as planned. Her team was professional and did a good job of being very behind the scenes. I would absolutely recommend her day-of services.

We knew Nancy would be a great fit from the day we met. She came to our first Zoom meeting with a binder that already had a photo of us on it, and we were immediately impressed! Nancy has several decades of experience & expertise. As I like to call her my fairy-god-planner, Nancy truly cares about her clients and her life's passion is creating unforgettable, magical experiences. She is prompt, communicative, organized, and always eager to help with a can-do attitude. She is well-known & respected in both her industry & community, which made acquiring and working with vendors a seamless process. She supported our vision with helpful suggestions. We had the best day ever and definitely have Nancy to thank for that! On a more personal note, we developed a strong connection with Nancy, and even though our special day has come & gone, I know we'll keep in touch! Can't recommend Nancy enough!

Nancy Jeffries-Dwyer and her team listened to my daughter and her fiancé in order to produce an event that matched and exceeded their hopes and dreams. They transformed a ski lodge into a magical, woodland wonderland and provided an extended weekend of detailed merriment. Since this was a destination wedding planned remotely it was critical to have people involved who knew the area. Nancy opened doors that we would never had known existed. Forever thankful we had Nancy with us this past year. She amazed.

Nancy was an exceptional listener and truly helped to bring our vision to life. She was professional, highly organized, understanding, and well connected. She introduced us to vendors well in advance to ensure that we were able to get what we wanted during an extremely busy wedding season. She took care of everything behind the scenes and made a true effort to guarantee that myself and my husband weren't stressed the day of the wedding. She is by far one of the best event planners I have ever worked with and was able to show up for us in the way we needed. I highly recommend her for your wedding. She is truly amazing at what she does!

We began the wedding planning process more than a year in advance and had already identified a venue, caterers, a band, a photographer, a transportation company and a flower designer. However, the number of moving parts,) seemed overwhelming. When about 9 months before the wedding, we felt we were having trouble communicating with the venue and managing multiple details, we started looking for help. Nancy’s reviews were uniformly wonderful, so we contacted her. She got back to us almost immediately and fortunately had the weekend available. Nancy was professional, organized and detail-oriented from the beginning to the end of this process. She was also easy to work with. Nancy helped us keep on schedule with all the necessary dates and fill in gaps we didn’t even know we had, (like the need to find a dessert caterer for the welcome party and hiring a separate bartender). She was always “can-do” and worked hard to make us feel as if we were her first priority. Nancy introduced us to a spectacular cake baker who creates masterpieces with sugar paste. When we casually floated the possibility of using a canoe for a giant ice bucket, Nancy pounced on the idea and brought it to life. Most of all, Nancy listens and helps develop any ideas you have and comes up with ideas of her own. If one of her ideas is rejected, she immediately drops it and does not perseverate. She moves on. Planning a wedding is stressful and Nancy managed to make the process as stress-free as it could have been. She remains calm, cool and collected (even when my husband accidentally backed into her car). We are very happy that we hired her. Oh yes, and she doesn’t disappear when the event is over. She and her small, professional team set up and took down every last thing.

Nancy is one of the best, if not the best, at she does! In the initial conceptualization of what our wedding would look like, she took our half-formed ideas, improved upon them with excellent suggestions, and crafted a beautiful vision of the wedding far beyond what we initially had hoped for. From there, Nancy took great care to arrange all the different vendors and running quarterback - a no small logistical feat, with the utmost attention to detail and executing flawlessly all the way through. On the day of our wedding, Nancy took great care of us, letting us enjoy the day for ourselves, while executing on a military precision. One of the greatest and most heartfelt moment for us is when Nancy lent her own precious wedding necklace for the bride (fulfilling the "something borrowed"), which was so touching for us. It is apparent to everyone that Nancy truly loves what she does and she elevates the game for everyone around her. We are so honored and grateful that Nancy took us on as her clients despite her packed schedule, so we can be the happy recipients of her craft.

Nancy Jeffries-Dwyer was hired as our event coordinator for my son’s wedding on May 22, 2022. She was simply extraordinary! Her organizational skills, kind heart, no nonsense work ethic and aesthetic taste and sensibility were unmatched by anyone else I’ve ever worked with. She is honest, fun and as hard a worker as I’ve ever seen! Nancy is easily accessible and You would be lucky to get Nancy for any event you are doing. I hired Nancy before the pandemic started to help my day run smoothly and assist with any questions I had during the planning process. Once the pandemic hit, it became clear that my wedding needed to be postponed and there was a lot of uncertainty. We pushed the wedding to the following year and Nancy helped me through all of those adjustments with the vendors. When it came time for our wedding this October there were a lot of last minute changes due to COVID and one of my vendors cancelled my rehearsal dinner contract 5 days before the event. She was readily available to make the necessary adjustments and helped with some of that communication with the vendor. She was always excited to talk about the wedding, kind, informative, and highly organized. She helped make fleece blankets for my fall wedding and really went above and beyond. There were several moments when I thought about cancelling the entire event due to COVID obstacles, but she helped keep the vision in focus which I appreciate most of all. My wedding day went so smoothly from start to finish. I would do some things differently if I had to do it again, but I would hire Nancy every time.

Nancy (and her team) is absolutely incredible!!! My mom and I are very type A people and never thought we’d hire a wedding planner until COVID hit and we had to reschedule our wedding. Nancy truly saved us lots of stress and provided invaluable insight to helping create the wedding I’ve always dreamed of! Nancy came on after we rescheduled the wedding and about 10 months away from the new date. Nancy Jeffries-Dwyer of NJoy Weddings & Events did an amazing job planning (and managing) our destination wedding at the Edson Hill resort in Stowe, Vermont which took place this October. Our celebration was delayed a year due to Covid 19. Throughout the process, Nancy kept us well informed, gave us great advice and helped us make important decisions. Nancy has been planning weddings and events for a long time, so her recommendations on venue, vendors and theme were always perfect. In addition to having a warm and engaging personality, Nancy is extremely organized, detail oriented and focused. She's also quite the amateur meteorologist – her decision on the day of the wedding to move our ceremony up an hour prevented what would have been a very wet disaster! Pulling off a destination wedding isn't easy. Thanks to Nancy, our wedding was everything that we dreamed of. We will always be grateful to her for the memories she helped create. Nancy was our full wedding planner for our wedding at Trapp Family Lodge in summer 2021. My wife and I both work full time and didn't have time to fully manage our own planning. I could not have coordinated or achieved the amazing wedding that Nancy Jeffries-Dwyer put together for us. She organized our destination wedding at Hildene in Manchester Vermont during Covid with the bride and groom living in NYC and the mother of the bride in Colorado! Throughout the planning process Nancy was on top of every detail and scheduled all the vendor conversations and venue details. Her experience was so valuable - she knows everything!! The best thing about working with Nancy is that as the mother of the bride, I was able to let go or the details, relax and completely enjoy not only the actual wedding, but also the months of planning that preceded it. Nancy's "can do" attitude was so reassuring and it was always backed up by results!

This may sound cliche, but the simple truth is, we couldn't have done it without Nancy! From start to finish, Nancy drove our wedding from a granular concept to a remarkable reality. She paid close attention to every last detail, and made sure we were informed and comfortable with every decision being made throughout the entire process. Moreover, when we were forced to postpone our wedding for a year due to the pandemic, Nancy took on the brunt of that stress, and made sure all the vendors were seamlessly aligned for the following year. While our experience is limited when it comes to weddings, it's hard to imagine that there's a better wedding planner out there. Working with Nancy was such a gift! We hired her as a day of coordinator for our rehearsal dinner and our wedding day. The moment she came she confidently took the lead & got to work. Her ability to work well with others makes her very pleasant to be around for such important occasions. But she’s also incredibly talented in her ability to turn chaos into magic in a very short amount of time. From making my dress look polished & steamed, to ensuring our ceremony & reception spaces were impeccable & magical to even capturing photos of the ceremony from unique angles we can’t say enough about how important hiring her was for us. Especially for me as the bride she was my tower of strength on my big day. From the moment we saw her bright & early on the day of the wedding everyone kept saying how energetic she was! She’s a woman on a mission to ensure every wedding & event receive her greatest attention. Everything was perfect!

We planned an August wedding in Vermont at my family's church in Stowe. Because we live in Tennessee, we wanted a local wedding coordinator who was a true professional. We asked around and were referred to Nancy Jeffries-Dwyer. Nancy proved to better than we could ever have hoped for! Of course, this was big deal for us and we actively planned for several months. Nancy is a very good communicator -- excellent with emails and conference calls. We found her to be excellent at follow through and rather surprised us with the extraordinarily LEVEL OF DETAIL she goes into in preparing for a wedding. She also knows EVERYBODY! She hooked us up with multiple people, including a bag-piper, a great local band, florist, photographer and The Green Mountain Inn, where more than 85 guests enjoyed an amazing reception and dinner. Here's an example of her level of preparedness: After the wedding, we planned to a bagpiper lead us in a short parade down the main street of Stowe, between the church and The Green Mountain Inn. Great idea, but Mother Nature had her own ideas. Almost as soon as the service began, we heard thunder. We walked out of the church, in our wedding finest, to find a steady rain. What could have been a disaster turned into one of the most memorial parts of our wedding. Nancy has come to the wedding with 30 MATCHING WHITE UMBRELLAS!!! Rain proved to be good luck and the photos of our party -- a train of white umbrellas -- were amazing! Highly recommend. She is the consummate, hardworking wedding professional. Love her!

Nancy/NJOY orchestrated an annual fundraising dinner and silent auction event for our non-profit organization. She did an excellent and professional job orchestrating every detail. Her willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty made our event the most successful we've ever held. We never could have pulled the event off so smoothly and beautifully without her expertise and experience.

Our daughter’s August 2017 wedding would not have been both the success nor as beautiful as it was without Nancy and her team at NJoy. We were lucky to have been able to hire Nancy only three weeks before our daughter’s August wedding after having a multitude of difficulties with the owner of the venue. Once Nancy was hired, she handled all communications with the venue’s owners as well as the other vendors. Through her many discussions, often heated, with the venue, Nancy was able to resolve all of the important issues. On the day that we arrived in Vermont, we had a late afternoon meeting with Nancy, on site, at the venue, and she was with us from the wedding rehearsal on Friday, during the entire day and night of the wedding, through the Send-Off Brunch that she personally designed and catered on Sunday. Nancy will be with you until the last guest leaves at the end of the weekend. For every parent of a bride-to-be as well couples that are beginning to plan their wedding do not start the wedding planning process before, at the very least, interviewing wedding planners. Our daughter and her fiancé vetoed the idea from the beginning believing that it was going to reduce the budget that we gave them for the wedding. However, not hiring Nancy from NJoy from the beginning was a huge mistake! In the end, depending on how elaborate a wedding is being planned, it may cost a little more in the end. However, Nancy Dwyer-Jeffries can and will guide the bride and her parents, and/ or the couple, to help select the venue of their dreams, the best vendors, create a time-line and see that it is executed, and reduce the stress of planning a wedding. The process of planning and executing a successful wedding, especially when the couple is doing the planning themselves, is difficult and stressful. Most couples and parents of the bride “Do Not Know What They Don’t Know.” Therefore, the couple and/or their parents do not know the questions to ask the different venues and vendors nor understand the real costs and what they are really purchasing when hiring a venue or vendor. Nancy Dwyer-Jeffries knows exactly the questions to ask venues and vendors and to guide the couple through every step of the process to achieve their unique vision for their wedding within their budget! Nancy has 35 years experience as an event and wedding planner and it shines in her expertise and professionalism, communication style, and attention to every detail. She is a bright star in the industry. My husband and I only wish that we had hired her at the very beginning of the process. If we had done so, our daughter’s and her fiancé’s vision for their wedding would have been implemented with far less stress and exactly to their specifications! I cannot say enough about Nancy Jeffries-Dwyer of NJOY Event Planning! I was married on July 29, 2017 at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe VT and Nancy truly made this my dream wedding. She has an eye for detail and no detail was spared, down to the paper towels in the bathroom. Nancy was able to take my ideas and turn them into a reality, she knew when to make recommendations to enhance the occasion and when to let me take control. Over the year that Nancy and I worked together she became more than a planner, she became a member of my family. She is someone a bride can count on and can go to no matter what the circumstances, she truly personalizes the experience. Nancy and her team were excellent to work with! Nancy helped me with styling and details for our Stowe, VT wedding, and to coordinate some details with various vendors that we had contracted. She helped me to make a lot of styling decisions and she even helped me pick out my dress when I was really having a hard time settling on one! She was so fun to meet with, talk with, and work with - she has such an amazing upbeat, fun attitude about the process of wedding planning and the wedding day. Nancy is incredible! Let me start with saying that I am a meeting and event planner for a living, based in Washington, DC, so we hired Nancy to be our local “legs on the ground” for our Stowe, VT destination wedding, as well as our day of coordinator. So, from one professional about another… Not only does Nancy have a wonderful, fun personality, but she listened to every detail and executed our wedding flawlessly. She was a true problem solver & creative thinker when issues arrived and has a magnificent attention to detail. When we had issues getting answers from our venue, she handled it. When we were having trouble finding a florist we could trust, she recommended a perfect one that was also a pleasure to work with. She helped create some of the décor and had a great selection of rental items which came in handy! Many of our wedding guests commented on how relaxed we were on our wedding day and I can honestly say that we were so relaxed because we had complete faith in Nancy and knew that she had it all under control. I would hire Nancy a thousand times over and she comes with my highest recommendation.
