The venue is gorgeous. Kristen was amazing day-of with coordinating things, and was responsive throughout our planning. It's great that they provide linens, plates, glassware, all that stuff. Our planning process was a bit all over the place as after we booked, they told us they were building a new venue on site (when we booked it was just an outdoor tent). Though thrilled with the upgrade it presented challenges (example, didn't know what the chairs or tables would look like until very late, was hard to get answers on how the layout would be as it was not finished until a few weeks before our wedding, so we couldn't answer questions from vendors about setup, etc). Bridal suite also was not fully finished for our wedding. There were some weird quirks like they tried to make us go with the arch being decorated by a florist they have a relationship with and rolled that cost into our total, we obviously wanted our florist to do all flowers and had to ask cost be removed. They also only ever talked about decorating the arch but failed to mention that the arch isn't actually theirs - its the florist's - so when we arrived that day it was being taken away! Luckily we convinced the bride from the night before to leave it for us to use. Another hiccup was that after we booked, we found out the price noted in our Nolan's contract that referenced a separate fee due to CCC was not accurate but by that point were under the other contract and had to just pay more. It was sloppy and should have just had no cost listed or said we had to confirm cost with them if they didn't know it, but we relied on that to make a decision on venue. The biggest was that they increased our food/beverage cost by 45% a year after we booked. With 1 less hour of open bar and 1 less entrée. I am a lawyer and well-versed in contracts. It did say it was subject to market adjustments, with prices to finalize in January of the wedding year. I asked about this in our planning and was told "if anything it is slight changes like to the type of chicken entrée we serve, or a slight adjustment to prices, nothing big." And I understand COVID and supply chain considerations. But I talked to many other venues and wedding planners and they agreed this was obscene, and not a slight market adjustment - it was a MATERIAL term. It would have changed our decision on initial venue decision as it jumped them up way above our other contenders. But only 6 months out from our date, we were stuck. Their prior menu under which we chose to book had both package and a la carte options. The new one only had package, and included many things (like a champagne toast, cheese platter, etc) that we did not want. They should have at least honored the a la carte options for people who had already booked, maybe with slight price adjustments. It took substantial discussions to get us to a place of being slightly less angry about this but in the end they did make a slight accommodation for us. The food here can only be done by Nolan's which was totally fine by us! Only problem was they pulled the buffet super fast with tons of food left and people have mentioned to me they would have gone back for more. But the food was excellent. The bartenders and servers were great and so attentive and fun. Despite the challenges in planning, it was an amazing day for our wedding and Kristen was a rockstar who checked on us constantly and was in 1000 places at once. Overall, definitely recommend.
Thank you so much to the Nolan’s team for facilitating our reception at Canandaigua Country Club! After a horrible turn of events with a different venue that shut down, Kristen and her team were everything we could have hoped for and more. The food was delicious, the bar and bartenders were fantastic, and Canandaigua Country Club offered such a great backdrop right on the lake (the fire pit was a popular spot!). Our guests raved about the event and we had such a great time as well. We cannot say enough great things about Kristen and the team at Nolan’s!
Nolan's was great for my wedding. The food was very tasty and the service made it effortless. From the initial tasting to the day of the event, they handled all the details without much input from me. Did I mention the food was good?
We had our wedding at Heron Hill Winery who uses Nolan's as an exclusive contractor. We were so happy with Nolan's for our wedding day! Kristin was amazing to work with and extremely responsive via e-mail. We had a wonderful food tasting where she really helped us pick the best choices for our day. The day of, we had a big wedding for the venue (193 guests) and Nolan's did a great job of getting the food out as fast as possible which is difficult for a party this big- I did not hear any negative comments from my guests. The food was hot, delicious, and I got several compliments that everyone loved the food! My favorite part were probably the appetizers- they were AMAZING! Highly recommend the lobster and tuna apps. Thank you so much for a wonderful day!!
The positive things I can say about Nolan’s were the staff was very kind and attentive. We only chose Nolan’s because they were our vendor’s exclusive caterer at Heron Hill Winery.
Unfortunately, the wedding food turned out to be very average, some it below average. Most guests commented on how cold the food was, which was super disappointing. Fortunately, we had an after party that was catered by a different vendor that all guests were able to enjoy.
Interacting with the vendor before the wedding was frustrating and getting clear and concise feedback was constantly difficult.
Nolan's did a stellar job catering our wedding on July 12th at The Cracker Factory in Geneva, NY. I believe this was the first time they did a sit-down dinner service at The Cracker Factory, and they knocked it out of the park! We received so many compliments on the hor'dourves (unfortunately we were in the middle of the receiving line so we did not get a chance to try) and each entree (filet, chicken french, salmon) was so tender and delicious! The entire process was seamless and the staff is so warm and friendly, our guests and our family were so pleased, and full! I don't think I've ever had a bad experience in general with Nolan's and will recommend them over and over again!
Working with Kristen was easy and enjoyable. Nolan's provides a quality product and many guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had! We were very pleased with the service and were happy to have Nolan's at our wedding.
The venue I chose had a contract with Nolan’s catering which required me to use their services, and for this I am thankful! Their food is incredible quality for a reasonable price. Kristen was helpful and honest during the planning process and made appropriate recommendations specific to our venue and set-up. We used Nolan’s for dinnerware which was more affordable than contracting another vendor. My guests have since raved about the passed hors d'oeuvres and dinner buffet.
I cannot say enough good things about Kristen and the Nolan's team! Not only are they easy to work with and extremely responsive, but the food is absolutely amazing! We had grazing stations at our wedding and they were a huge hit! We also opted for local gelato instead of traditional wedding cake and our guests loved it! Would definitely recommend!
Nolan’s in Canandaigua was great. They have a partnership with Heron Hill so we had to use them but after our tasting, we were 100% satisfied. Everyone raved about the food and the contact, Kristen, was really wonderful to work with. Highly recommend!
