We had our wedding at the Nonantum at the end of June. Our wedding day and planning experience truly exceeded our expectations. We were so sad when it was over because it was truly our favorite day ever. Dawn was our coordinator and was wonderful. She responded to all emails quickly and was willing to make time to meet with us when we were in town to meet with other vendors. She was incredibly flexible when we had to cancel a few people last minute due to medical emergencies. She made sure things went off seamlessly. Aside from the insanely gorgeous lawn making it a heart choice, the Nonantum also has amazing food. Our guests kept raving about the food and I can honestly say it is some of the best "wedding food". I have had. We are so excited to come back in the future!
A Perfect Coastal WeddingReviewed on 10/31/2014 Dolly H
If you are looking for the perfect spot for a coastal wedding, look no further. My husband and I were married back in July and people are still talking about how wonderful our wedding was! Tim did an amazing job helping us plan out every little detail. Chef Jeff also helped us create a custom made menu that our guests thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone at the Nonantum was friendly and accommodating. It truly was the perfect place for our wedding reception.

Perfect DayReviewed on 10/31/2014
The Nonantum Resort was the perfect choice for my daughter's wedding. Our coordinator Dawn Blystone, could not have been more helpful. Dawn went above and beyond to make this day all my daughter hoped it would be and more. The location itself is absolutely beautiful, the food was wonderful and the staff were amazing!!! I would recommend the Nonantum Resort to anyone looking to book their wedding or special event, be sure to ask for Dawn as your coordinator she is one in a million!!!
The Way Life Should BeReviewed on 10/29/2014 Abigael S
It is hard to put into words how perfect the Nonantum was for us. Since we were doing a "destination" wedding in Maine we wanted our guests to feel like they were in Maine. As soon as I walked in to the ballroom, it felt like Maine. The ocean view, the boats on the water, and the Adirondack chairs outside screamed Maine to me. It was beautiful. Our wedding coordinator, Tim Ames, along with the rest of the staff, helped us have a perfect and memorable wedding reception. After signing our original contract and sending in the deposit, I found out my sister was pregnant and due a day after our wedding. The fact that she lives in London was going to make it impossible for her to be at there. I met with Tim in a panic and he pulled out his calendar, told me what was available in August, and we changed the date...he made it that easy. He turned a stressful situation into one that was manageable and exciting since my sister could now be a part of the day! The food at our wedding went above and beyond expectations. Thank you to Chef Jeff!!! Our wedding guests are still talking about how delicious their dinners were. Everything at the reception went on without a hitch. Tim was always in the background making sure things were running smoothly. I thought that since I wasn't from Maine but planning my wedding there, I was going to be stressed with the distance. Having Tim and the staff helping us, I thought I was right down the road. He answered my emails and phone calls in a timely manner and was always there with a suggestion or help. The icing on the cake was the call from Tim the morning of the wedding...he said "don't worry everything is fine, we are just wondering what you and Ryan would like to drink when you come off the boat so we can have it waiting for you". Tim's attention to detail and caring went above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Throughout all encounters with the staff, the night of the wedding and morning after, they were all so friendly. So many "congratulations" and thoughts of happiness were shared. We were so appreciative! If possible, I would recommend taking the boat, the Pineapple Ketch into happy hour. It was great for Ryan and I to have a little time alone and surprise our guests with our entrance.
More than just a great wedding venue...Reviewed on 10/20/2014 Kristin S
Take it from a local - as soon as I got engaged, my fiance and I called The Nonantum Resort. Tim was our wedding coordinator, and from the start, he was extremely attentive and always available by email for our endless questions during planning. All of the staff have been doing this for years, so they have incredible knowledge and experience. They know exactly how to run all types of weddings, and ours was no different. The reason I say The Nonantum Resort is "more than just a great wedding venue" is that booking a reception with the Nonantum is more than just a beautiful location. Tim was with us from day one, and he was there for the entire day to make sure every detail went perfectly. They offer incredible service, amazing meals, beautiful views, and they have a list of trusted vendors to help your decision process run smoothly for other areas of planning such as florists, photographers, bakers, etc. They also offer unique features unlike most other venues we had looked into - for instance, we arrived at our reception from our ceremony by sailboat! While the Nonantum offers ceremony services onsite, we had ours at St. Ann's Church down the road, so Tim had arranged for all of our guests to gather on the lawn to watch us arrive! Our guests still talk about how incredible that entrance was! The Nonantum also offered a service for our guests directly following the ceremony (while the bridal party was taking pictures but before the reception started) which included a table of cookies and lemonade outside the church for people to mingle and enjoy the views. I could go on and on, but I encourage anyone thinking about this venue to seriously consider having your wedding here. The entire staff made us feel as if this wedding was the most important they've ever hosted. You're already floating on a cloud during your engagement, and our experience with the Nonantum kept that magical feeling alive from start to finish...we felt like royalty! We never could have imagined a better wedding day and we have the Nonantum staff to thank for making it the best day of our lives!
Perfect Venue and great serviceReviewed on 10/11/2014 RENEE S
Our daughter and son in law were married in Oct 2014 at the Nonantum. The venue was originally chosen because of the beautiful location: seaside and coastal Maine. However, the weather was terrible but the wedding reception was amazing and totally stress free. The Nonantum staff: Dawn Blystone (event planner), Mark (head of beverages), the chef, the service staff and everyone involved were beyond helpful and fully engaged in our event, making it a fantastic evening despite the weather! The food was spectacular and their help in setting up the event was immeasurable. We hosted a brunch the next morning which was just as wonderful as the rest of what the Nonantum Resort had to offer. The service staff was extremely friendly and very gracious! Beautiful venue, lovely and friendly staff and amazing food!
Great venue!Reviewed on 9/27/2014 Sarah
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Nonantum, and both went extremely well. Dawn was very organized and quickly responded to all our emails (and there were a lot of them!). It was so nice to have someone we could trust with our wedding. She met with us several times to go over details, and was kind enough to run through several bar options with our attendance numbers. Dawn and her staff did a great job with the set up and event. They were very flexible with timing when our receiving line and photos took longer than anticipated. Dawn has a lot of experience with weddings, and she helped the evening flow along nicely. They were able to accommodate a space the morning after so we could have breakfast with our guests and open gifts. They also decorated the bar with some of our reception items to add an extra special touch. The bridal prep room was great. I had my hair and makeup artist come to us on the morning of the wedding, and there was plenty of room. The staff stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. They cleared our breakfast dishes and brought us ice for lunch. I would definitely recommend using the room to get ready. The ceremony set up was ideal. They were able to provide a table for the sand ceremony, and it was placed in a good location. The entrance for the bride was great. No guests saw me before I walked down the aisle (unless they caught us during the first look and some pre-ceremony photos). The cocktail hour was great. The food was delicious! The staff brought the bridal party drinks and hors d'eourves while we were finishing the receiving line and taking family portraits. The lobster bisque was delicious, and a huge hit. We didn't make it in to the cocktail hour, but what we saw afterwards looked great. The food at dinner was delicious. All of the guests were served at close to the same time, and everyone's food was hot. Everything was very tasty. They also did a great job distributing cake. The open bar was very good, and we got our money’s worth. The dance floor isn't very big, but it was nice to have a full space. It made the party go well. The trolley to Federal Jacks is also a really nice touch to keep the party going. Because we got to dinner late, our reception time was cut short. We really appreciated having the pre-arranged after party to continue visiting with our guests. The Nonantum also has some wonderful photo spots. We got great shots on the docks and around the grounds.
Still in Awe - Our Dream WeddingReviewed on 9/02/2014 Stephanie M
We got married at the Nonantum Resort exactly one month ago and are still in awe of how amazing everything turned out. I don't think that feeling is going to go away for a long time. Not only is the Nonantum beautiful, but the staff are incredible to work with. Dawn Blystone, our wedding specialist, was truly more than we could have asked for. In the planning stages, I would pose a question thinking there might need to be some discussion, but no; I would get a simple response saying "it's done." There is no better feeling than working with a team who is not only friendly, but also knowledgeable, professional, and extremely helpful. People always say there are little things that go wrong that only the bride and groom notice, but no one else. Honestly, we cannot think of a single thing we wanted done differently. Since it takes a real team to execute a big event, I think that's a true testament to how great the Nonantum staff is. From the front desk, bellman, chef, banquets, activities team, bar staff, pool, dining, etc. we were so incredibly impressed. We can remember multiple peoples' names because they truly made personal impressions on us. We are not from Kennebunkport, but fell in love with the town previously and wanted to share that with our guests. Because of the Nonantum, numerous guests also fell in love with it, and we could not be happier. We certainly intend to return as soon as we can, and now we have many friends/family who would love to join us in creating more memories! Thank you for everything!
Dream wedding at the NonantumReviewed on 8/12/2014 meg s
My husband and I got married at the Nonantum in July 2014. I had always wanted to get married in Maine and the Nonantum was the perfect choice. The staff at the Nonantum is very special. As soon as we arrived our wedding coordinator, Dawn was there to help us to make sure we were taken care of from getting us checked in early to our room and to taking all of our wedding stuff and handling it from there, all my worries melted away and I could enjoy our special weekend. From the front desk staff to the bell boys, everyone is so helpful and nice! Our family and friends loved our wedding. The food at Nonantum stands above the rest. We opted for dinner stations and there was something for everyone. Chef Steve is amazing and he works with your preferences. We also had our rehearsal dinner on the back lawn - a lobster bake which was amazing! I also loved the setup, it was just perfect. Our wedding party and family loved it! We literally had our dream wedding at Nonantum! I highly recommend this venue if you want a spectacular setting and celebration to share with your family and friends.

Spectacular Wedding Location!Reviewed on 5/23/2014 Jennifer T
We had our Reception at the Nonantum Resort for our 178 guests on May 3rd & it could not have gone any better! Tim Ames was an incredible Coordinator from start to finish. He's very experienced, has a lot of great ideas & takes care of EVERYTHING so that the Bride and Groom don't have to worry about one thing! The location is beautiful right on the water, the food is well above your "typical wedding food" (we received MANY compliments), the staff went above & beyond and the accommodations were stunning. We could not have picked a more perfect location for our Reception & we were so lucky to have Tim as our Coordinator!
An Extraordinary Place - An Extraordinary Dream Come TrueReviewed on 10/07/2013 Kathy H
This past weekend, our daughter's wedding took place at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, Maine. It was magnificent! Tim Ames and the staff went to extraordinary lengths to make sure our day was stress free and all the little details were attended to. There was never a request that we made that wasn't fulfilled with ease. Tim assured that every aspect of the wedding was carried out with the utmost professionalism and care and that our "vision" of the day was what we saw in the reception room as we entered. It was just magical. The Nonantum was more than the perfect spot for our Kaitlin's special day and Tim and staff made the experience for us exceed all of our dreams and expectations..... and beyond. We will hold the memories of this day at the Nonantum in our hearts and minds forever with the greatest joy.

The staff at the Nonantum went over and above to ensure that our day was special. The room and food were perfect for the size of our party. The food was delicious. The hotel has a special casual classy feel to it. They more than welcomed our group of cyclists that had just ridden their bikes a few days to attend our wedding.

My husband and I could not have picked a more perfect venue for our wedding reception. From working with our wedding coordinator to the service at the reception, we were impressed beyond all measures. The staff made sure every need was met, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was incredible. The Nonantum Resort made our wedding reception a night we will never forget.
Our wedding day was perfect at The Nonantum!Reviewed on 10/05/2013 Natasha C
We stayed at the Nonantum in 2011 and absolutely fell in love with it. We kind of knew we would be back to look at it as a possible wedding location. When we got engaged and came back to look at the property, Timothy Ames gave us an amazing tour and made us feel at home. We booked our wedding at The Nonantum Resort about 11 months before our 8/23/2013 wedding. From beginning to end, Tim and Dawn were so great to work with. Everyone was so responsive to answer my questions! From setting up my centerpieces and decor to placing a napkin on my lap before I ate, they thought of every detail. The atmosphere is so deliciously New England and our pictures came out amazing on their property. All of our guests were so happy with the rooms, property and level of customer service. The food was raved about! I do not have one complaint about the entire process and I can't recommend The Nonantum Resort enough! They are truly an amazing staff of people that will take the time to know you. We can't wait to go back for special occasions in the future.
Amazing venue for your wedding!Reviewed on 10/05/2013
We wanted to get married in Maine since that's where I've lived for many years and looked at a few different places around Portland. We decided to go with Nonantum because the place was just beautiful and we wanted to have ceremony and reception in the same place. It was the best decision we've made! Dawn is the best wedding coordinator. Her and the staff mad sure everything was perfect that day and We ended up almost completely stress free which is what we wanted! Beautiful place and a good value! Highly recommend!
Dream Wedding at the Nonantum!Reviewed on 10/05/2013 Danielle B
My husband and I were married in July 2012 at the Nonantum and truly had our dream wedding. Our ceremony was on sight by the quaint lighthouse on the water and our reception was inside the ballroom. Our guests loved the cocktail hour outside, bar by the patio and the opportunity to explore the grounds throughout the reception. The staff was a dream to work with and perfectly executed my vision. The food was fantastic! We had a lot of guests tell us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. For a dream Maine coastal wedding look no further than the Nonantum!
May 2013 weddingReviewed on 10/04/2013 lindsay b
Words cannot fully describe how wonderful our wedding day was at Nonantum! From the time we first met with Tim and Dawn through the wedding day, the staff at the Resort was attentive, responsive, accommodating, friendly, helpful, and more than willing to ensure that our day was one to remember. A particularly nice (and unplanned) touch was the golf cart ride over to the sloop that took my husband and me to the reception. That moment made for some great pictures! The food was beyond wonderful. All of our guests still comment at how delicious the selections well. Try the live action seafood selection for a particularly unique experience. Our out of state guests absolutely loved the fresh seafood. All-in-all, Nonatum Resort will provide complete and superior service for your wedding day needs.
Perfect SettingReviewed on 10/04/2013 Jamie H
Our wedding was stunning. We had an outdoor tented wedding this past August and it was beautiful. The Sperry tent was placed right next to the water, and the setting was perfect. The view from our table in the tent was amazing. They property provides adirondack chairs that line the water and it is great additional seating for guest to hang out outside the tent. Tim Ames- the event coordinator for the hotel, was so helpful with the set-up and gave great suggestions. The food was also delicious and the cook was very accommodating to any suggestions or tweaking to items. The hotel all around is a great place for your guests to stay. Absolutely perfect day, no complaints what so ever. Couldn't have imagined a more beautiful setting and nice people to work with!
My PERFECT weddingReviewed on 10/04/2013 Bailey D
My husband and I went to the Nonantum Resort in April of 2012, the resort it self wasn't fully open but Timothy Ames was very welcoming and very excited to show us the property. We both instantly fell in love with the location, the staff and thus our dream wedding started to take shape. Tim was always available to us day or night. He provided guidance throughout the wedding planning. The day of our wedding arrived and every little detail was executed perfectly. We highly recommend the Nonantum, Timothy Ames and the staff. They made our dream day a reality!!!
Fantastic venue, staff, location and resort for a wedding!Reviewed on 10/04/2013 Katherine Z
My husband and I got married on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Nonantum Resort and it could not have been more perfect! We had an outdoor ceremony by the lighthouse, an outdoor cocktail reception, and dinner and dancing with a live band inside. We still hear from our guests how fabulous our wedding was! The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful and there was so much to do both at the resort and within walking distance in town! The intimacy of having everyone stay on location coupled with the guests having so many choices of activities within walking distance both before and after the wedding made it exceptional. From the bride's perspective, it was also incredible because of the wedding planner we had at the Nonantum who helped us from beginning to end...from suggesting and recommending excellent vendors to taking care of every detail from helping the musicians and vendors set up, giving us space for photos, a room to prepare the flowers, a get-ready room to have our hair and make up done, helping us stay on schedule, all the while making the whole thing seem easy! The whole day came off seamlessly and it was a gorgeous location to boot with incredible light and views. I could go on and on but my husband and I won't soon forget this magical place by the sea in Kennebunkport where we tied the Knot! We recommend it wholeheartedly! To everyone at the Nonantum--you really are the best! Katherine and Jeff
J&G WeddingReviewed on 10/04/2013
When my fiancé and I were planning our wedding we had one stipulation- we wanted to get married on the water. I am from New England, I was born in Maine, but grew up in Massachusetts. My sister's best friend was married at the Nonantum and had suggested that I look at it for my venue. When we went to meet with Tim at the Nonantum I fell in love. The environment is so heavenly with the ocean view and the town of Kennebunkport and Kennebunk itself is the perfect place to host a wedding weekend. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Every person not only in the ballroom, but the staff at the hotel approached me to give me a genuine compliment or just comment on the wedding. It was truly a vacation not only for my now husband and I, but all of our guests. Guests were able to lounge in the Adirondack chairs or take a nice walk to the downtown area. We also went kayaking right from the dock at the resort and my husband and all the boys went on a lobster boat tour. There are so many things to do that during the "down time" your guests will be entertained. We had the trolley service to Federal Jacks brewery after the wedding and everyone loved it which was convenient and allowed for us to continue the party! I know that everyone says that their wedding weekend was the best weekend ever, but it truly was and that is because of our location. I cannot stop looking at my photos and I will forever be grateful to Tim and the staff at the Nonantum!

We had the most perfect wedding at the Nonantum. We will remember that day for the rest of our lives. The day could not have been more perfect and I have to say that the team at the Nonantum took care of every little detail to ensure our day was unforgettable. Our wedding was a little getaway for our guests and they spent the weekend at the Nonantum. The accommodations were spectacular and cozy. This November, we will be celebrating our 1st anniversary and have to say our guests still comment on how wonderful the weekend and venue were. We will be sure to visit the Nonantum often as it has become like a second home to me :)
