Nordstrom Bridesmaid Bar

Please note – this review is for The Wedding Suite at the San Francisco Centre store (Union Square). The Wedding Suite at Nordstrom in San Francisco is a bride’s dream come true. So hospitable and great customer service. While I didn’t end up purchasing my wedding dress here, they did do the alterations on my dress, and we purchased my husband’s suit, the groomsmen attire, the bridesmaid dresses, my shoes, veil and accessories, my mom’s dress, my dad’s attire, and wedding party gifts. We worked with both Melissa (who left the store to work at Kate Spade) and Heather Bowser, who is the Wedding Suite manager. We worked most closely with Heather, and she is tremendous – she got a great vibe for my style, the wedding style, and everyone else involved as well. She helped me select the gifts for our wedding party, as well as a dress for my bridal shower. I felt so comfortable with Heather, and she made my experience so wonderful. We worked with Lily in alterations. She did a great job of cleaning up my dress, removing snags, adding an eye hook and snap on the back of the dress, sewing in bra cups, and sewing in a French bustle (the dress didn’t need to be hemmed or taken in). The French bustle looked great in the store, but after the ceremony when my sister-in-law bustled my dress, it held under the weight of the dress for all of about 10 minutes before shredding the bustle tie. How disappointing, especially given the price I paid for the minor alterations. Anyhow, we were able to do a makeshift bustle with a safety pin, which worked out ok. Other than that, I had a fabulous experience with the Wedding Suite at the San Francisco Centre store. Of course, Nordstrom is fairly pricey, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. Because of the great customer service I’ve received at Nordstrom throughout my wedding planning experience, I will be a customer for life!

I am so happy that Nordstrom, Valley Fair (San Jose, CA) has the Wedding Suite! It's practically like a one stop shop! I didn't want a gown that I had to wait months and months for it to come in. What better place than Nordstrom! They even carry Vera Wang dresses, but the best thing is you can buy it off the rack and get your alterations done in time if you are a procrastinating bride. It's just like going to a bridal boutique, but BETTER! You get a special (larger) changing room and you have a dedicated wedding specialist to help you out with your selection. The sales people there are not pushy at all with you to purchase the gown or other accessories. I highly recommend it as a one stop wedding clothing & accessories shop! Plus if you put your purchases on your Nordstrom Credit Card, you get bonus perks.

After visiting many other wedding boutiques and being surprised at how difficult the wedding dress picking was, I headed to the new Wedding Suite at Nordstrom Valley Fair. Though the selection was somewhat limited when I went, the service provided was excellent and I was able to narrow down choices and choose a dress in two visits. I also used Nordstrom for alterations and the team went above and beyond, adding bustle points where the dress didn't originally have them, making it so the dress actually stayed bustled. A really good experience that I would recommend to any bride looking for a somewhat less traditional wedding dress shopping experience.
