Northgate Country Club

Northgate Country Club was the PERFECT place for our reception! Morgan, the coordinator there, made wedding planning a breeze! Checklists, email follow ups, calls and accommodating when it came to meeting times. They easily accommodated my 220 person wedding reception. Morgan kept us on track and provided excellent feedback even if she was taking a risk in telling us she didn't think something was a good idea - I turned out perfect with her help. The food was phenomenal and they worked with us on a signature drink to make sure it was just right. Morgan had excellent recommendations on vendors and overall I couldn't have done it without her! The bridal suite was great too! Plenty of space. Northgate was beautiful, accommodating, and great to work with - in huge part thanks to Morgan!

I recently had my wedding reception here at Northgate Country Club in June 2017 and absolutely loved it! The place itself is beautiful, the layout was perfect and the food was amazing. There are so many different options of food to choose from and everyone actually gets a lot of food on their plate. None of this would have been possible without the amazing coordinator that works there and helps with all of the planning leading up (Morgan). She is so great to work with and very helpful and so kind. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Best. Venue. Ever. Working with Morgan is a dream. She stayed on top of everything and was always easy to reach. The inside of the club is beautiful, the food is AMAZING and the staff is so friendly. Perfect venue, perfect coordinator!

The Venue is nice and Morgan was very easy to work with all the way up to the Wedding day, but on the Wedding day she was suppose to be the on site coordinator; however some things fell through the crack. My suggestion is if you decide to chose this place have your on wedding planner or day of coordinator and also make sure you really compare what is being offered at other venues because NG is a little pricey for what you get, which is not much. Their decorations are outdated so you will need a decorator if you are looking for a nice wedding decor.

BEST VENUE EVER! Where do I even start. Northgate Country Club has the most gorgeous layout with floor to celing windows and a beautiful view on every wall. And the food... WOW! Choosing a menu was difficult, becuase everything tasted so delicious even our guests couldn't stop raving about the food. They assigned a staff member to look after my husband and me, and to make sure we had whatever we needed. Not only is Northgate a beautiful venue the coordinator, Morgan Mai, is over the top. I could not have had the wedding of my dreams without her. She was available whenever we needed her, we were able to set up meetings anytime, she gave us timelines and deadlines to meet to keep us on track and she thought of things I would have never. Now that our wedding is over my husband and I will attend event dinners hosted at Northgate just to visit friends and the staff.

This place is phenomenal! We had the time of our lives and the Northgate staff did everything they could to make our night wonderful. They were super easy to work with, and had an absolutely great site-coordinator (Morgan) who helped us throughout our engagement all the way through the ceremony and reception. She is the best around. The rest of the staff were also great - very courteous, accommodating, professional. We had to move the wedding indoors last minute (thanks rain) and they transformed the place without a hiccup. It turned out to be beautiful inside, and they took care of everything which helped relieve a lot of stress. We could not speak more highly of the venue, staff, and facilities!

Our wedding reception was absolutely beautiful. We received lots of compliments from guests. We were lucky to have good weather and the views at sunset from the upstairs was awesome. From what I heard Northgate did a good job on getting guest's cars valeted and directing them inside the venue. For the size of our wedding, about 175 people, I would say the downstairs area was too small for the cocktail hour. So, at one point during the cocktail hour the upstairs was opened up. That worked great, there was plenty of room upstairs. I am extremely schedule oriented and the club did everything to stay on schedule which took a lot of stress off me! Everything flowed smoothly and flawlessly. I wasn't able to verify everything was set up correctly day of and had no idea what to expect everything to look like put together and it looked fabulous. They did a great job of making sure all centerpieces, tablecloths, glasses, plates, etc were in place. One thing I was very impressed with was how quickly the buffet moved. I wasn't sure how quickly our large group would get thru the buffet and didn't want people waiting, but it went great! Probably the best part of the night was the bridal attendant. She was always at our side asking what we needed. Very attentive! I would recommend Northgate for a wedding reception. The views from the upstairs can't be beat and we had great service.

Northgate was absolutely wonderful for my wedding reception and guests continue to comment on the location and food service. Misty the wedding coordinator at NGCC expertly guided us through the planning process. At the taste testing, she helped us pare down the many yummy choices by suggesting menu combinations. She also provided great advice on layout of the tables, band, cake, etc. and was open to changes we requested. Misty clearly communicated the services NGCC would provide and all services promised by Northgate were provided. Above all, Northgate provide a stunning, elegant reception venue. The event ran smoothly without a hitch. The florist, cake vendor and photographer were all on NGCC’s recommended vendor list and we experienced punctual, high quality service from all three. On the day of wedding, Misty coordinated the vendors and accurately set-up table name cards in advance of guest arrival. Artey, the venue’s attendant for the bride, assisted me with bustling my gown and brought fresh hors d’oeuvres for hubby and me to eat in private before the first dance. Guests told me the valet service was professional and efficient. Other compliments received were the fresh, delicious food and good service timing for each course. The country club was a gorgeous backdrop for my wedding reception and the photos show it! Months later, the wedding guests still compliment the venue and what a wonderful reception it was to attend. I highly recommend NGCC to brides looking for a elegant location with exceptional service.

I had my wedding at Northgate Country Club and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Misty helped me throughout my wedding process with a smile and had wonderful recommendations as well. I was scheduled to have an outside wedding at the gazebo but mother nature had other plans for my wedding day. It started to pour down raining 30 minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to start. Misty and the Northgate staff made all the necessary changes at the last minute with no hassle. Despite the rain, my day was absolutely beautiful and I know I owe thanks to Northgate! The venue itself is breathtaking and the service is like the icing on the cake. I would recommend them to anyone who may be looking for a wedding/party venue!

I highly recommend Northgate Country Club for your wedding!! My husband and I got married there this April 5th, and it was a great experience! We researched numerous venues around Houston to find an affordable venue with a beautiful setting, great food, and accommodating event staff. We found that at NGCC. We know 3 other couples that had wedding/receptions at NGCC over the years, and they recommended it to us because they all had great experiences too. I can’t say enough about Misty, the special events coordinator. She was extremely professional, friendly, and thorough in the venue preparation. She has been in special events/weddings for many years and it shows. We planned our wedding without a wedding planner, so I really appreciated that she was so on top of the venue details. She even coordinates directly with vendors about their arrival time and information. That took some weight off my shoulders. She was onsite on the wedding day to setup, troubleshoot and make sure vendors were arriving. That was such a big asset. (FYI- Hiring a day of coordinator elsewhere costs about ~$1,000.) We had a bridal attendant who tended to the girls as we got ready, and one who was assigned to my husband and me at the reception. She was amazing! She brought us water, cocktails, and appetizers immediately after the ceremony/wedding photos, since we were missing some of the cocktail hour. She kept up with us during the reception, without being intrusive. All of our guests had a blast and raved about how fun and beautiful our wedding was! Overall, we felt like Misty and NGCC really had it together and it was one of the best decisions of our wedding planning process. Perks of NGCC: beautiful site, accommodating/professional staff, thorough venue planning, reasonable price, great food/appetizers, wedding vendor coordination for arrivals/deliveries, bridal attendant, bridal suite for getting ready, complimentary valet parking for guests, access to facility for bridal portrait session.

Northgate was the site of our reception and it was a great event space for a large wedding. In trying to find a venue several places were ruled out automatically because they couldn't hold 300+, but Northgate can and it's such a gorgeous place with great views. We were at max capacity for a buffet dinner but it didn't feel as if you couldn't move around between the tables. Another big plus was affordability. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to find a large space with affordable prices, but Misty really worked with us to create a menu around our budget. P.S. The winding staircase was a great place for photos and so pretty!

Excellent! I had an outdoor ceremony at the gazebo. That area is a wow factor and the guest couldn't believe how pretty it was sitting on a golf course. I would recommend Northgate to anyone whose looking for a venue that holds ceremonies outside. Misty and her staff were also excellent, the groom and I didn't want for anything. My parents and the guest are still talking about the staff and how profession they were. We had a seated dinner, the food was hot & tasty, and the servers got the food out quickly; some of my guest even asked for seconds. If we had to do it all over again it would definitely be at Northgate!

The entire staff at Northgate was incredibly helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process and Misty made sure our wedding was amazing!

My husband and I were married at Northgate Country Club in October of 2011. It was the most wonderful experience and pretty much my all-time favorite memory. The staff was phenomenal, so genuine and caring and helpful. It would not have gone so smoothly and effortlessly on my part, if it were not for the forethought of Misty, the events director, and the support of the whole staff. I LOVED the location, our pictures came out beautifully, and I cannot recommend Northgate highly enough.

Northgate Country Club: Food: A+++ Venue: A+++ Staff: A+++ Event Manager (Misty Hersey) A+++! I had so many guests tell me it was the best wedding reception they had ever been to. You were terrific and your tireless hard work showed greatly!  I had so many compliments about how fantastic the food was, the beautiful venue, and the stunning set-up.  Without you, this would not have happened.  

Northgate Country Club is breathtaking, it has a beatuiful outdoor ceremony location and wonderful all glass indoor reception ballroom. However, I choose not to book this as my wedding site due to the poor communication with the wedding coordinator Misty. I booked in advance on two seperate weekends to come up and visit the location and get a tour from her, and she failed to attend either meeting. The other staff there did not know anything about the wedding services and just told me to "look around". Because of the beauty of the location I still wanted to get a proposal. However, after calling her to verify the contract and to clarify a few things about the catering she stated "I have other weddings before yours and do not need to know any details about your wedding right now". In my opinion it is her job to want to reassure me that they would be able to deliver the services that I'm paying for, this is a big event and if I'm paying that much money I should have better customer service.

I recently got married at Northgate Country Club. The wedding was beautiful, and I got endless compliments on the physical appearance of the wedding and taste of the food. The cake was delicious, the flowers were beautiful, the linens were great and the DJ had the party going all night. The staff was also great. Jemma, the Service Director, the bridal assistant Arteerean, and the other staff were very kind and friendly, and took great care of us. However, after spending a year planning my wedding, I have to say I was less than impressed with the unprofessional planning process that took place at Northgate, and my final wedding coordinator, Misty. Towards the end of my planning process I was not looking forward to my wedding because of all of the headaches Northgate was causing. It was supposed to be a joyous moment for me but it was not at all. Unfortunately I keep in mind the trouble that I had with Northgate and that gets in the way of the joy I should look back on. It was not the experience I was expecting to have with them. If I could do it all over again I would do everything the same except have my wedding at Northgate. I went through 3 wedding coordinators throughout the 1 year I was planning my wedding. Unfortunately, nothing was being written down in our file, so when the last coordinator, Misty, came in, it was like we were starting over from the beginning. Since Misty never emailed me to introduce herself or give me her contact information, I had to email other Northgate employees to even find out who she was. I thought it was very rude and unprofessional of her to not introduce herself, and go over the wedding details with a bride who was already in a contract with the country club. Another frustration was that, instead of going over our wedding details with me, she would make changes and neglect to tell me. For example, she changed the menu we were given by the previous coordinator, didn’t tell me, and made it difficult when I requested it be changed back to what I was promised before. We had to contact the owner to get the problem resolved. In the end, our problem got solved but I do not feel that the problem should of escalated to as big of a deal as it did. The only way I would find out about any of the changes, was if I asked questions, and luckily I did! Can you imagine showing up on your wedding day with these big changes and not knowing about them? Also, when we discussed the date and time to have my wedding rehearsal, Misty said I could do it at any time on the day we chose. A week before the wedding she said we couldn’t have the rehearsal at the time we decided because there was another event happening. This pushed our rehearsal back to 8:00 in the evening, which my family and I were unhappy about because it was so late and we had made dinner plans. It was also frustrating because the guests from the previous event were still lingering around during our rehearsal, making it difficult for us to practice. To top it all off, Misty did not even show up for the wedding rehearsal! At this point, my aunt, who happens to have previous experience working as a coordinator at Northgate, took over my wedding rehearsal and sort of became my unofficial wedding coordinator since Misty was neglecting to do her job. During the day of the wedding, Misty never came up to me to see how everything was going or to congratulate us or anything. She practically ignored us. In fact, most of the time, the workers there were asking my

Everything looked amazing thanks to Misty the wedding coordinator at Northgate Country Club. She was so helpful with everything all night. She made sure I didn't have to worry about anything. She talked to the vendors for me, did last minute decorations, and made sure my husband and I had everything we needed. Northgate is a perfect place for any event. Oh and the food was great there. All of our guests are still talking about how good the food was.
