That may be an ideal for some. But for me, for my daughter, our new son-in-law, and all of our family members and friends - this was truly the reality! Shonica was an absolute professional upon first handshake while initially meeting at our venue. She transformed a hotel meeting room into an elegant ceremony room that resembled a church altar. Which is just what we requested. Seating for 220, it was arranged with covered chairs and sashes, with beautiful flowers placed overhead and along the aisle. She even dropped beautiful rose petals all the way down the aisle. Her team is ever present and coordinating and managing every nuance prior to the bridal party and the bride herself entering the ceremony room. It was divine. Go now to the reception room…just across the hall, which is a larger conference area within the hotel. She and her team stayed up all night to be certain every delicate detail was completed to reflect our vision with her creativity - resulting in a fantasy ballroom setting. The reception color theme was done in rose gold and soft pinks, blush, and champagne with burgundy accents. Every turn brought us to a new revelation of beauty with “oooohs and ahsss” as we took in the stellar coordination that resulted in perfection! The bridal table and backdrop draperies (in soft colored fabrics), reflected the special effects lighting that helped us to feel that vibe of a royal ballroom. She even hung crystal chandeliers above the happy couple! Padded white chairs were placed at the center of the bridal table just for them. Thus far, I have been describing the external environment (and we cannot wait to see our photographs!). I would also like to say that all great creations come from the ability of the visionary to listen to what the expectations are - what the bride wanted - and then take notes from the heart. This is what makes Shonica such an outstanding wedding planner. She operates out of love. She truly does. She cares about her bride and all of the bridal party and the whole family. She wants everything to be just right. She communicates via text, email, phone calls, and of course, in person. She holds your hand and keeps you informed all the way through the process. I told her the reason I/we selected her was twofold: 1) That as she was taking notes in our initial meeting, was jotting down items in her journal-like spiiral book. I knew she was really listening to us. And 2) She told us “if anything does happen to go wrong on the day, you will never know it.“ That sold me. Someone who cares and someone who will alleviate stress for my bride! The outcome was absolutely amazing. Having said that I also need to add finally… That the flowers were truly stunning. We chose a mix of silk and real. The bouquets of flowers and different flower arrangements were thoughtfully placed all over the reception room. With our selected uplighting and other effects, it all came together and created such a dreamlike setting. It was exactly what we had hoped for. I am not exaggerating in any way as I express my heartfelt gratitude to Shonica, and her team for giving us exactly what we asked for, and more.
