About this vendor
Vintage elegance in every room for your wedding
NYIT de Seversky Mansion is an elegant wedding venue nestled on the North Shore of Long Island. Luxury and elegance are present throughout this historic manor, from its architecture to the smallest details in the decor. The lush outdoor areas and upscale ballroom can turn your special day into an unforgettable event. We are the only Mansion on Long Island to allow our guests to have access to ALL rooms on our main floor and with rooms to use for getting ready the day of!
de Seversky Mansion is an exclusive 1920's Gold Coast Mansion with a private drive on West Road from Northern Boulevard. A true hidden gem that will leave your guests in awe. We host only one wedding at a time with the option for full exclusivity of our property for the day. You will then have access to our suites to get ready on site and enjoy the full Mansion experience for your wedding day.
First owned by inventor and philanthropist Alfred I. du Pont, NYIT de Seversky Mansion was originally built in 1918 to be his private home. Over the decades, it had multiple owners and residents, before being purchased and restored by the New York Institute of Technology in 1972. It now boasts multiple designated event spaces for couples to exchange their vows among vintage, detailed beauty. Up to 300 guests can be easily accommodated on the grounds for extravagant celebrations with using all the rooms in our mansion. One of the outdoor spaces, on the west side of the main house is The Patio, that overlooks the onsite lake and surrounding forestry. For a more nature-inspired ceremony, couples can place their altar in front of the mature Linden Tree. Its high stature and cascading branches creates a stunning backdrop, while also offering shade for your loved ones. The venue’s full glass Garden Room is an ideal choice for couples that want an indoor option, while still having an unobstructed outdoor view. After your ceremony ends, your guests can then move to the Ballroom for a classic Traditional Wedding or our other styles. Vintage architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and antique chandeliers will add a breathtaking, sophisticated aesthetic to your evening.
NYIT de Seversky Mansion can host weddings during any time of the year, and presents a unique ambience for every season. The team’s event specialists will work with you during your planning process, to ensure that everything exceeds your expectations. The onsite catering team will prepare all their mouth-watering dishes in-house, and customize their cuisine to suit any allergy and dietary needs.
Our Signature Style is our European, with a seamless transition from ceremony if on site, to cocktail hour, where your guests then enjoy the full culinary and dining experience with no interruptions. Lastly, dancing and formalities will then occur with dessert stations, and the celebration! Wow your guests with our unique setting and exquisite food.

I can not leave enough stars for this venue and entire team. The venue is stunning, Dana and Nicolette did an absolutely fantastic job. The chef, Robert, is… you guessed it, also fantastic! We had a huge wedding. It was absolute perfection. I cannot thank everyone enough for making this the best day ever!
My husband and I just got married at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion on 6/15/2024. This venue was not known to me until I received a recommendation of venues to visit. I wanted a venue that had various locations (greenery and the view of the mansion was perfect) for photography and cinematography. Throughout the entire process, Dana and Nicolette were both very responsive and helpful. They attended to my questions and wants for my vision in a timely, rather very quick, manner. They provided insights and helpful suggestions for what we wanted the night to look like. The venue itself speaks volumes as to what the best night of your night will look like. There is so much flexibility as to outdoor or indoor wedding, guests to walk around the patio and take pictures with one another and then come together for reception in the ballroom. Every guest complimented on how gorgeous the venue was and how spacious it was. We could not be happier with our decision to have our once in a lifetime wedding at the de seversky mansion!
We had our wedding at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion on December 9th, 2023 and our experience was absolutely incredible from start to finish!!!! We worked with Dana who is so, so fabulous and made our vision come to life. Every step of the way she was extremely professional and accommodating. Anything we asked of her she went out of her way to provide!
All night everyone was coming up to us saying, "this place is AWESOME!!!" Almost none of our guests had never been to the de Seversky, which I actually really liked because it was a new experience for everyone as opposed to a place everyone had already been to.
Some things we loved about this venue included the bridal suite - it consists of two very large, stunning rooms and two bathrooms which was perfect for our large bridal party of 11 girls, plus mom's and vendors! We were able to have a nice breakfast and lunch provided by the venue to the bridal suite and groom's suite which made things so simple and convenient.
The grounds are so gorgeous and provided SO many different photo opportunities. All of the staff were very generous - the Maitre d' was so helpful and and our bridal attendant, Melissa, was amazing! She helped to clean the entire bottom of my dress when it got dirty outside, and was always right there.
Drinks and food were great. Right after our ceremony, the staff set my husband and I up with our own little sample platter of cocktail hour food and drink in the bridal suite so that we could enjoy just the two of us before entering our cocktail hour. That was so special!
We did a European style wedding-- highly, highly recommend!!! I had never seen this style wedding before, but it worked out beautifully and I loved how different it was!! We had just under 190 people and the dance floor size in the ballroom was great. We were able to fit our 10 person band with no problem.
Most of all, I loved the antique, vintage feel of the venue. Many of the more new, modern venues simply don't have the charm that the de Seversky has. The detail in the building itself is so exquisite and really added a timeless feel to the day. The venue was already beautifully decorated for the holidays with wreaths and lights and Christmas trees, and it was so perfect for our December wedding.
If you like a vintage, classic look, this venue is IT!!! We were simply blown away -- nothing negative to say!
Any questions?
We are so glad that we chose to have our wedding celebration at NYIT de Seversky mansion, and that we met Dana. We cannot say enough nice things about Dana and the entire team at De Seversky. Thinking back I remembered the review on the Knot someone shared about their experience, at the venue and with Dana and I’m happy to report that my husband and I had an amazing experience working with Dana. Top notch professional, kind, very responsive and well informed. She wants all her clients to have a wonderful experience and we did. She was there for the nervous bride last minute questions and there to welcome me on my arrival on the wedding day. The professionalism did not end with Dana, because the staff was equally attentive and kind. Special mention to Majorie my bridal attendant who was by my side through out the day into the night, and to Cami who kept things moving. I’m truly grateful for the warmth and kindness of the staff. As each of our guests shared about our wedding. they mentioned how good and tasty the food was, the beauty of the venue and the warmth of the staff.
Thank you Dana for working with us, for your recommendations, guidance and accommodations. Everyone in our party had a wonderful time. Our wedding day was truly memorable.
We wish you continued success
With gratitude
Ryan and Camielle
I had my wedding at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion and it was truly a dream come true! The venue is simply stunning, both in person and in photographs. The staff and everyone we have met at the venue in the entire process were so kind, friendly, professional, and made us all feel so taken care of. On the day of, they kept everything running on time and made sure all of our needs were met! Many guests complimented the food, from the cocktail hour to the delicious entrees. We even had multiple guests tell us that ours was the best wedding they had ever attended! If you want a beautiful and unforgettable event, I would strongly encourage you to visit the venue and grounds to see it for yourself and experience the magic! Thank you de Seversky for making our dreams come true!
This venue is beautiful, and the food was delicious. The bridal attendant Mellissa and the Maître De Kemi were both incredibly helpful and on top of everything. Unfortunately, that is all the good I can say. The planning process was a headache. Trying to get answers from the Sales Rep Dana was incredibly frustrating. It would take days if not weeks for her to respond to emails and when she did the answers to my questions were confusing and misleading. When I did try to call for answers, I was met with a full voicemail box and no other contact. Numerous times we were told that we could do something to later find out that it was not possible or would cost hundreds of dollars more. We were told we could change out the portrait in the Ballroom, but in reality, the venue has no idea how big the portrait is, how it is attached to the wall, or have a ladder to facilitate work around or on it. In addition, if we still wanted to do something with it we would have to sign a liability weaver and only the person who signed would be allowed to touch the portrait. We planned on doing a photo both/guest book in the Library Room; but when I inquired about setting up tables in a certain configuration for that I was told guest wouldn’t be allowed in that room following Cocktail hour. To decorate for the day we were told that we would be able to drop stuff off the week/day before the event; however when I tried to plan when to drop things off I found out not only could I not drop anything off before the day of if I wanted to drop anything off before 4pm we would have to pay an additional $300 an hour so that the staff could provide snacks and drinks even though I explained that no one needed any type of service and were just going to be there to set up. Similarly, we were told that we could pick things up the day after the event for a fee; however, when I inquired about the fee I was informed that we couldn’t leave anything in the venue after the event. I wish I could say that the headache of planning was worth it. There were tables set up for the ceremony area that wasn’t planned or talked about. There were also tables set up with the incorrect place setting so that there weren’t enough seats at the assigned tables. On our paperwork for the cake flavor and information on the top tier, I listed the 2 cake flavors to be served and that we didn’t want to save the top tier. It was then surprising when we talked to guests during dessert who knew about the 2 cake flavors, who told us that the staff said there was only one flavor. Unfortunately, the tiered cake to our knowledge was not served. That would be fine if we had received the uneaten cake. This cake was not provided by the venue it was purchased from a separate preferred vendor. The baker gave us 2 flavors of cake because that is what he always does for this venue; so the venue should expected 2 cake flavors. At the end of the day our entire 2-tiered cake went uneaten and is unaccounted for with the cake toppers that I requested to be saved. This venue is not DYI friendly. When we toured the venue, we were told that the staff could help set up given things were clearly labeled with where they were to be placed. However, once they realized that I was the one providing the décor without the help of a rental company or event planner they said the staff could not help set up. Overall, I would caution anyone who has a very specific way they want their special day to go against this venue.
The de Seversky Mansion at NYIT ran like a Swiss watch. They were utterly impeccable with their organization, running one of the tightest ships we have ever seen in any venue. They were also there with us every step of the way with planning our wedding, from helping with vendors, to picking out menus, to the minutiae of the day's schedule. Dana and her team showed us the highest standards of communication and performance that are unrivaled in the industry. On top of all of this, the food is absolutely delicious (the guests were raving) and the venue is stunning! We are grateful--no, beyond grateful--to them for all they did for us and for how delicious and beautiful the day was.
Part Two: Not sure where the disconnect occurred in the timing/flow of the wedding but our maître d'hôtel seemed overwhelmed all day. Guests felt rushed from the cocktail hour into the ballroom for introductions and the reception. Wait staff did not bring special requests (no dressing on a salad, cheese on the side of a salad, etc) in a timely fashion. The bar ran out of limes and Cointreau. And the biggest embarrassment of all was the buffet setup. We decided on a brunch buffet because we wanted a more casual reception with our guests free to mingle with us and one another. When we chose to have an outdoor reception with our tables and chairs on the East Lawn, we were told that the buffet would be set up in the perimeter of the ballroom. Knowing that the deSeversky Mansion had executed buffet receptions in the past, never in a million years would we have thought that a buffet for 135 people would consist of two stations (one with a made to order omelet bar and the other with everything else, specifically a waffle station, home fries, two salads and three hot entrees) perpendicular to each other with only a doorway between them. Despite having our 12 tables take turns approaching the buffet, our guests waited on very, very long lines (spanning the length of the ballroom and out both doorways to the East Lawn) for food to be served. Clearly, more stations were needed with better spacing between them. Happily, many remarked that the food was delicious once they actually got a plate. By the end of the wedding, Dana was no longer in the building and the maître d’ was looking for gratuities for himself and staff.
With all that said, I’m not only disappointed but feel slightly abused by the 21% administrative fee charged by this venue. I admit that I signed my wedding contract with the deSeversky Mansion with my eyes wide open to the clearly delineated 21% administrative fee as well as the site fee, the ceremony fee, the per person/ plate fee and the collection of mandatory New York sales tax (8.625%) on all of the aforementioned fees. In addition, not once but twice, written in italics and bolded in my contract was the sentence, “Administrative Charge is not a gratuity and will not be distributed as a gratuity to the service staff.” When you do the math, this administrative charge was $7000 and I am fairly confident that I did not receive $7000 worth of administrative services throughout wedding planning/during the wedding.
In summary, although the venue is beautiful and the food was delicious (at least I am told it was), I am very sorry to say that I would not recommend this venue to an out of state bride/groom and to anyone who does not want to follow the deSeversky Mansion’s prefabricated wedding styles. And if you decide to hold your wedding at this historic and elegant location anyway, please do yourself a favor and hire a wedding planner and/or day of wedding coordinator to prevent the embarrassment we suffered and hopefully have a better experience!
Part One:
As a bride planning a wedding in NY while living in another state 400 miles away, I chose this venue because of the ambiance, convenience for our families (both sides live on Long Island) and the glowing reviews of Dana and staff. I was reassured that the venue and staff could accommodate and plan a wedding with an out of state bride and groom and an unconventional wedding style for the venue, i.e., a Sunday wedding brunch. I was also told that a wedding planner/coordinator was not needed because the administrative team was very active in helping with wedding planning.
Unfortunately, my experience has been frustrating due to what appears to be an overwhelmed and undertrained staff. Within 3 months of booking the venue (my parents went for an in person tour while I toured remotely with them), the sales and events coordinator I had been working with was let go and all further questions/planning was with the sales and events manager, Dana. My first in-person visit to the deSeversky Mansion came 5 months before the wedding for a tasting of breakfast foods that staff could only schedule for a Friday late afternoon. In all fairness, our schedule was not very flexible in terms of the week we were visiting in NY but we gave ample notice and could not be accommodated for a better time of day. At the tasting there was a “mix-up” whereby we were served nuts and meat even though our wedding was nut free/vegetarian. Although the kitchen staff apologized profusely and said it had never happened before, we were so dismayed that we immediately notified Dana of the issue. Dana correctly asked what she could do to make this right and we suggested she waive the extra charge ($300++ per hour) to allow us to use the bridal suite several hours before the wedding start time. This request had a dual purpose: first, it allowed us to get ready on premises but more importantly it permitted us potential oversight to the kitchen preparations to ensure that our dietary needs would be properly addressed. Additional planning over the subsequent months consisted primarily of email exchanges, sometimes with several days between my email and a response, as Dana was basically a one man band for all events at the mansion.
The day of the wedding started off great with Dana and staff on premises as promised. The bridal suite was set up and the bridal attendant was very attentive. However, the groom did not receive the same welcome. When he arrived, he did not know where to go (he had never toured the venue) and there was no one around to direct him. When he finally found a staff member, he was instructed to sit outside of Dana’s office and was told he would be helped momentarily. Momentarily turned into 30 minutes until the same staff member asked what he was still doing there; he replied that he was waiting to be directed to the groom’s dressing room. He was then shown to the groom’s suite which looked like a large storage room with stacked chairs rather than a dressing area. In addition, there was no breakfast food or drink laid out as was listed in the contract. To add insult to injury, there was little privacy as the wait staff were in/out scrambling to set the room while he was getting ready. (rest of review under Jacob G)

We can not thank you enough! Our wedding was Perfect from start to finish. Just like a fairytale 🤍. First of all it was the best seeing your beautiful face that morning🥰.
The Mansion was Gorgeous! The Bridal Suite was a dream!! That baby blue was so sweet and each and every corner of that bridal suite was like being on the set of some glamorous movie. Our moms were blown away and my bridesmaids just wanted to live there 🙈🤣😍. Everything was within reach and we had so much room and felt so comfortable and glamorous.
Eddie and his groomsmen absolutely loved their suite. They took so many amazing photos in there .
The entire Mansion and the gorgeous Linden Trees and land and view is tattooed in my mind. It felt like we were on the set of The Great Gatsby😍. The guests have not stopped calling us and texting and complimenting your venue and kept calling it a Diamond in the Rough and such a Hidden Gem.
We had our PreCeremony in the Cocktail Room and it was so beautiful and special .
Our Ceremony was Magical by the BiG Beautiful Magic Tree 🌳. We were so happy the weather was in our favor although your garden room is so lovely as well.

The room was was set up so perfectly !
The tables looked so elegant and were placed so well . That room is so gorgeous and cozy it doesn’t need much to be perfect as it is but all your attention to detail and thought for the dance floor to feel cozy was not unnoticed. John was telling us how you wanted the dance floor size perfect for us and it was!
The food at dinner was delicious. Our guests all said this was not only the most beautiful venue they have ever been too , so intimate and dreamlike, but the best food ever they had at any event or wedding .

The NYIT de Seversky Mansion was our dream wedding venue! We chose this venue because we thought the European Style option was very unique. Our guests were surprised by the change in the order of events! I am happy I took the recommendation to have our dinner in the garden room and dancing in the ballroom. There was more space for our guests to dance and enjoy the music at cocktail tables. Something to keep in mind is that the dancing portion doesn't happen until around 9 pm with the European Style wedding so I would highly recommend adding an extra hour to your event. It was the perfect amount of time for dancing! The food was also very good and we loved the presentation. Our guests kept raving about the steak. It was a pleasure working with Dana and her team. Dana was very helpful over the past year and a half. Whenever I had a question, she was quick to reply and anything we asked for she was able to accommodate. I would highly recommend booking your wedding at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion!
I just had my wedding here on July 9! My husband and I worked with Dana Perna for over a year planning every little detail. Dana was so responsive, helpful, and was just all around wonderful to us! Our wedding day was perfect and ran so smoothly! The grounds are absolutely stunning and the food is magnificent! My guest were awed and are still complimenting how great of a wedding it was!! We are so happy to have been a de Severksy couple!
Dana Perna is the crown jewel of this wedding venue, and her ability to bring her staff together to deliver very high quality service and to pay impeccable attention to the smallest details is extraordinary. All of our guests, family members and the wedding party enjoyed consummate professionalism from Dana, and it made for a magical wedding venue. Dana's goal is to deliver on all aspects of the wedding party's wishes, and is by their side as the day and evening progresses. We were struck by the responsiveness of the bridal attendant, the chef, wait staff, and all other service staff at the Mansion. We were treated like family, and every need met throughout the process.
Our son and his wife had their wedding at the De Seversky Mansion over the 4th of July weekend in 2022, and t could not have been a more well-executed wedding ceremony and celebration. We are grateful for the care, attention and consummate professionalism Dana and her team exhibited throughout the process. Our family and guests are still talking about the spectacular evening they had at the Mansion, how beautiful the interior was, how immaculate and lovely the grounds were, how delicious the food was, and how much they enjoyed the dessert table supplied by the Mansion and cake from Wonderful Wedding Cake at the end of the evening.
From the first moment we met Dana on an initial tour, we knew that we would be in good hands with such a calm and reassuring person. Dana clearly loves her job, and it shows in every interaction she has with her clients. Thank you, Dana, for a magnificent celebration.
De Seversky Mansion is a beautiful venue, there is no question about that. But it was the team at de Seversky Mansion that really made our wedding day everything we could ever dream of! Everything from the start of wedding planning (>1.5 years for us) to the wedding day went seamlessly! We did not hire a wedding planner so all the communication was between us and their team (mainly Dana). Dana is so responsive to our emails (usually within a few hours) and explained the details of the wedding day so we didn't have to worry much. There were no silly questions with Dana; she was very happy to help us.
On the day of the wedding, the Maitre D' (Oscar) and bridal attendant (Andrea) really made the event run seamlessly. They kept track of time, made sure we were well fed during the long hours before and after the ceremony, and made minor adjustments to the timeline of events so that the wedding was enjoyable for everyone. They were always mindful of time and never rushed us even if we were running a few minutes late. The bridal attendant went above and beyond to make sure my dress looked amazing for photos and the ceremony. The staff brought us cocktail hour snacks after the ceremony because they knew we wanted a few minutes to ourselves and they knew we were going to miss the majority of the cocktail hour for photos. Although we couldn't try everything at cocktail hour, many of our guests keep telling us that the food was amazing. At the end of the night, they were tremendously helpful by packing up most of our leftover items from the bridal suite, the welcome tables, the first tier of our wedding cake, and signs. We couldn't have imagined a better wedding day!
We feel so lucky to have had the most beautiful and elegant wedding at the de Seversky Mansion last month. De Seversky feels like one of Long Island’s best kept secrets - a sprawling East Gold Coast mansion on beautiful grounds that makes you feel as though you have been transported back in time to the 1920s. We were so fortunate to work with Dana Perna while planning our wedding. Dana is so sweet, professional and accommodating. She offered great advice, provided full transparency and really held our hands every step of the way, ensuring us that we would have the wedding of our dreams (which we did!) Our guests could not stop raving over how beautiful, elegant and sophisticated the mansion is, and everyone absolutely LOVED the European style reception with the ability to move throughout the mansion, and explore each room. Since de Seversky only hosts one wedding at a time, we had full run of the mansion which in a way made it feel as though we were hosting a huge party in our home for all of our friends and family. The food was also phenomenal! We received so many compliments throughout the night (and after the wedding) of how amazing the cocktail hour was as well as dinner in the ballroom and all of the dessert stations. We also opted to add on a hot pretzel station for the end of the night which our guests loved. Dana and the de Seversky team went above and beyond to accommodate any requests we had and really know how to throw an elegant affair. Everything was set up to perfection and the flow of the party went so smoothly. If you are looking for a wedding venue, run don’t walk to de Seversky Mansion.
My wife and I had the most magical special day here… my family and friends were blown away at how incredible this mansion is. It’s so private and the staff allow you to have the entire mansion for the day as if you live there and are throwing a party just like the past owners did in the 1920s! Dana our wedding planner was so efficient and accommodating allowing us to have so much freedom with everything. Stacy and Mary Kate were so kind, friendly & gave us everything we needed during our special day. The grounds are beautiful, our pictures are amazing because of all the different types of scenery throughout. We loved our ceremony under the Linden Tree, the cocktail hour being in the old library, and the ballroom being the reception area with the bar just outside to make people move around so that they aren’t in one room for hours and can experience the beauty all over. The price is the most affordable you will ever get for such an upscale wedding/mansion. The staff worked with us to help us figure out the best way over time to afford it and we are so thankful. We couldn’t be happier with our wedding, these words do not even do justice at how satisfied we are. Thank you De Seversky we miss you already!!!
The second my husband and I pulled up to the de Seversky Mansion, we knew it would be our venue. It was the best decision we made. First, it's one of the most stunning venues I've ever seen - historic, breath-taking, unique, and tucked away on the most gorgeous grounds. Second, the staff is one of a kind. Dana was a steady, calming and helpful presence throughout the entire planning and postponement process. She was responsive, full of ideas, helpful in every way and is just a JOY to work with and be around. The rest of the staff was equally amazing. Stacy the maitre d' welcomed guests with open arms and made sure our day went as smoothly as possible. My bridal attendant Melissa was an actual life saver making sure I had everything I needed (food, water, support) and making sure my day was perfect. And the kitchen/bar staff was efficient, helpful and on top of every moving element of the night. The FOOD is also a highlight of the mansion. Our guests were raving about the cocktail hour, dinner, dessert and after party menu. Our day was perfect because of this venue - the pictures are going to be amazing because there is no shortage of amazing spots. I can't stress enough about how amazing this place is. Book it now!
DeSeversky staff ruined my wedding day. I don't think this venue is safe and for that reason, I don't think it's worth the money.
My grandfather fell down on the property and cut his head open at the end of my wedding. He wasn’t offered much more than a bandaid. They sent a “security officer.” In my opinion, this man treated me horrible based on how he raised his voice at me and made demands.
Put yourself in my shoes. You just got married, you’re on cloud 9. The phone rings - it’s a frantic call that my grandfather is on the ground outside the venue after tripping on something. My family runs to scoop him up and address the cut on his head.
My grandfather eventually washes up and leaves to check himself out in his hotel room.
The venue manager, Jose, comes and shows me into the ballroom with someone I’ve never seen before. Because DeSeversky shuffled me into the room alone and I don’t have a witness, I have to say that it’s my opinion that this person demands that I help him do his job and file a report. I gave him some basic information about my grandfather’s contact information.
In my opinion, he was pressuring me to lie and say things I didn’t see. I obviously refuse. At this point, in my opinion he gets aggressive, inappropriate, disrespectful and belittling towards me in a way no one should treat a groom or anyone on their wedding night. I walk away.
I told the venue this absolutely ruined my night and all I want is an apology from the guy in question. Maybe he’s a nice guy having a bad day? Just say “hey, I was out of line and I’m sorry.” I was ready to just put this all behind me.
… Until they refused.
In my opinion, this is the kind of business you're dealing with at DeSeversky. All we asked for was the person in question to apologize and have documented evidence of DeServersky saying they won't do that. In my opinion, DeSeversky put me in the room with him alone knowing that however he treated me couldn’t be substantiated by any witnesses. I am so horrified to this day by how I was treated and that they won’t apologize.
If you have standards, I personally recommend you don't trust your wedding day to DeSeversky. The behavior of this person and failure to offer an apology ruined my wedding day and has permanently shattered the illusion of DeSeversky being a good venue for me.
I had my wedding at the mansion in April 2021 (rescheduled from summer 2020) and cannot say enough positive things about the mansion and its staff. The venue and its grounds are so elegant and beautiful. We did not want to have a cookie cutter catering hall/country club wedding and we knew the mansion was perfect for us the second we drove up for our initial tour.
We had to postpone due to COVID-19 and the sales team at the mansion could not have been more accommodating, professional, and helpful as we navigated the process. We worked with Dana Perna throughout the planning, postponing, and replanning process. Dana and the entire team's professionalism during COVID-19 was remarkable and is a true testament to the type of operation they run. Dana was patient, attentive to detail, and had a genuine interest in ensuring that our wedding was perfect. Working with Dana felt like having our own dedicated wedding planner. We are so grateful for Dana's help, taste, and all of her hard work because our wedding was absolutely perfect.
Every detail of our wedding was executed as planned and requested-- it truly went off without a hitch. Jose, the bridal assistants, and the rest of the staff were beyond attentive to us, our bridal party, and all of our guests. Our families and friends were so impressed with the level of service all day and night. The mansion's Executive Chef and his team are beyond beyond BEYOND talented. We were able to customize and tailor our menu to our specific tastes and preferences, and the results were truly incredible. Our wedding menu felt like that of an upscale restaurant, not your typical boring wedding menu. Everything was beyond delicious, served in large portions, plated beautifully, and warm... and the timing of its service was perfect (I cannot say this about weddings I have been to at other venues in the past!). Our guests are still raving about the food, the ambiance, and the overall flow of our wedding.
We were so happy with our wedding and are beyond grateful for everyone at the mansion for making the day so perfect for us!
Dana is amazing to work with! After changing our original wedding plans due to COVID-19 we had to rethink our entire wedding. We quickly contacted the Mansion and were so lucky to work with Dana Perna. She is simply so amazing to work with! We had the most beautiful wedding at the de Seversky Mansion!!!! Highly recommend this venue.
The NYIT de Seversky Mansion is a startlingly gorgeous mansion with an intriguing Gold Coast history which we selected for our November 2019 wedding. We chose the de Seversky in August of last year, so it was a real race to the finish line. Fortunately de Seversky team really rose to the occasion to help make our wedding truly special.
We worked with Dana Perna and manager Robert Jay Calo as our primary contacts. We had two main requirements: responsiveness and an all-vegetarian wedding. I'll note that on the responsiveness front the first month or so was a bit challenging; I'm used to direct/immediate responses and there was some lag time in communications. However, when the timeline got to under a month and a half a switch was flipped and everything fell into place. It was frankly a little nerve wracking for us during the early going, but a pleasure once we knew we could rely on the de Seversky team. They also worked extremely well with our wedding coordinator.
For the food, we had multiple conversations with the head chef and his sous chef straight through the final tasting. While at first the options presented were a bit pedestrian we were assured that the team would rise to the occasion and proved to be highly collaborative with feedback and suggestions after I sent through an array of potential dishes and recipes. We received many compliments from our guests on the quality of the appetizers and entrees (we actually pushed to have Impossible Burgers which went over like gangbusters). We opted for the dessert cafe and substituted Crepes Suzette for the waffles, which guests adored.
The day-of Groom and Bridal attendants, whose names I'm embarrassed to say I don't recall in the whirl of the day, were excellent; calming, reassuring and focused on the goals at hand. Really top-notch.
The ability to create specialty cocktails, while standard, was another part of the creativity of the experience as the excellent Head Bartender was more than willing to go "off book" from the typically offerings to work on drinks with more creative pizazz. I also requested a beer option like a winter porter that is no longer made...and somehow he was able to find cases OF that out of stock beer! That was a real surprise and delight.
There are two relatively minor negatives to report. One is the lack of an elevator to the second floor where the Bride's suite is located. This is unfortunate as it does limit the ability of mobility-challenged guests to participate in some moments. Second is the organization of the mansion itself. There are a number of rooms which all flow into each other, making it a very special location and experience - but it becomes very easy for guests (particularly older ones) to get either lost or confused in the layout. We had multiple guests report to us that they weren't aware there WAS a second room serving appetizers, for example; at the end of the night dessert is served in a separate room which means guests wander off and don't return to the dance floor. More signage or just the servers letting guests know about what's available would really help.
Altogether we, and our guests, had a delightful and memorable experience at the de Seversky and would highly recommend for other couples!
I always wanted to have my wedding at a place that did not ‘feel’ like a venue and where I could utilize the entire space throughout the day. When you walk into the de Seversky mansion, you are transported back to the early 1900s. Every detail of the place is in incredible condition and so intricate. You drive up through a wooded path that opens to the magnificent building. The entryway is pure marble and every room has a different theme and feel. We decided to do a ‘European’ style wedding so that our guests could explore the rooms as the night went on. Planning a winter wedding, I wanted people to ‘feel’ as though they were outside, but with temperature control. The Garden Room, a glass solarium overlooking a lake, was picture perfect. But it was not until we read the hundreds of rave reviews about the food and service that we were sold. The staff at this venue went above and beyond from day one, accommodating every single question and request. Dana and Robert Jay were always available and made us feel like family. Dana even realized one tiny item I forgot to pack for my drop off that I would have forgotten if she had not intimately known all the details of our day. Our maître d’, Jose, and our bridal attendant, Melissa, were two of the kindest and most thoughtful people. Melissa stuck to me like glue all night, proactively taking care of everything from my dress to making sure I was hydrated to reminding me where I needed to be at all times. Jose, similarly, did the same with the staff, coordinating the team like a conductor with an orchestra and boy did he not miss a beat! I have never seen such dedicated service in my life and to top it all off, the food and drinks were OUT OF THIS WORLD. No exaggeration, the food was like a 5-star restaurant but with so many options no guest could be bored. They also made all of the food cook to order, so every dietary need and desire was accounted for. Our guests were blown away by how taken care of they were throughout the night, on top of the nonstop care given to us and our wedding party. This venue exceeded every single expectation.
It's hard to say what the absolute best part about hosting our wedding with NYIT de Seversky was. The groom's family, who loves historic places and beautiful architecture, would probably tell you it was the gorgeous mansion, well-maintained grounds, and picture-perfect ceremony location options. The guests would probably say the food-- there was so much food and every course was something you'd expect from a restaurant or award-winning caterer. As the bride, though, I think the best part was the endless support and expertise I had access to, and the immense flexibility and capability of the talent in house.
I chose not to use a wedding planner, despite having a very busy work schedule and not being physically on Long Island most days of the month, because I got overly ambitious and way over-estimated how long I'd continue to find wedding-planning fun for. The only reason I didn't regret it? De Seversky made every idea I had a dazzling reality. Custom escort card displays... a surprise dragon dance during the cocktail hour (they hid at least a dozen children, two Chinese lion costumes, and at least 2 taiko-sized drums in a back room for me while we exchanged vows. What other venue can pull that off? What other planner?)... baskets of sandals and bathroom amenities and photo frames and candles/bud vase arrangements throughout the entire mansion! An epic take-out donut display. All without batting an eyelash. When I asked whether I should hire a coordinator, they told us "our brides don't typically get day of coordinators... some do, but most don't, and most don't regret it"-- they're 1000% right. Their staff knows their space and timesheets like the backs of their hands.
Even better than that? They run a very tight ship in terms of timeline, meetings, responsiveness, simplifying payments. My parents are immigrants and their English is solid, but contract details can get confusing. The planning staff at De Seversky made all of us feel extremely in the loop and in control. Any time my mom wanted to call, drop by with a question, anything, Dana and Robert Jay would quickly get back to her. One thing I really appreciate is that when our headcount came in a little too high, it looked like we would need to use a different floorplan for where we had dinner. My florist had designed the centerpieces to highlight the tables on the edges of the room, however, and if we needed to change rooms, the redesign would have been last-second and very expensive. She was freaking me out, so I called Robert Jay to see if he could make it work, and he first calmed me down, assuring it would work, then had Dana and Jose, both superstars, put together a plan that probably wasn't as ideal spaciousness-wise, but it was what we needed. Dinner was a bit cozy, in the room we envisioned it in, and so so beautiful (and delicious! I still think about that shrimp garganelli pasta. Don't let them take that off the menu!!).
I cannot think of a way in which NYIT de Seversky could be trumped. It is delicious. beautiful. authentic. professional. These people know hospitality, and they will take care of you like fairy godparents. It isn't cheap, but it did save me at least $5K in wedding planning/coordinating costs, so that's considerable too.
I can't say enough good things about our wedding at the De Seversky Mansion on Oct 5th - from start to finish the team was impeccable, thoughtful, and kind at every turn.
We chose to have a European style reception in which our wedding progressed through the mansion in different rooms which kept guests interested throughout. We had our ceremony outside by the Linden tree (absolutely beautiful) and subsequently, cocktail hour in a few of the smaller rooms, dinner in the ballroom, and dancing in the garden room with the beautiful glass walls and ceiling which made for a magical night.
I can't imagine having done it any other way - the progression allowed us all to enjoy dinner and then dance the night away without any interruption.
The Seversky team kindly set my husband and I up in the bridal suite just after our ceremony with a tray of hors d'oeuvres so that we didn't have to miss our amazing cocktail hour and I am so glad - the food was phenomenal. Our guests agreed. Go for the gold coast station with fresh seafood. Well worth it. I have never received so many compliments on food.
Leading up to the wedding, I was very nervous about planning and logistics - I never needed to be. The team (led by the amazing Robert Jay Calo) anticipated everything and kept the night running smoothly. Truly thought of everything and everyone was there the night of to troubleshoot so all I had to do was take in everything and enjoy.
Would do it all again in a heartbeat (Looking for excuses to have another event already!). Do not hesitate to book this beautiful location. Great value, beautiful setting, and an amazing team that thinks of everything so you don't have to.
This event space is truly the most breathtaking space I have ever had a chance to lay eyes on. My husband and I fell in love with it from day 1 and new we had to be married here! We hosted our ceremony and reception all onsite and couldn’t say enough positive things about our experience. Robert Jay and team went above and beyond to ensure our needs were taken care of every step of the way. The day of service from ushers to bridal and groom attendants etc was completely over the top attentive and wonderful. They made sure every single need was met and went above and beyond every second to make sure we were happy. The venue was stunning and we cannot day enough about the delicious FOOD! A few months after our wedding and our guests are still raving about the food and the service! Our day was perfect and we can’t say enough about the de seversky team. Thank you for making our weekend a dream! We will be recommending this venue over and over again and hope to be able to host another event here again at some point.
This is an outstanding venue for a wedding! The mansion is magnificent. There are not enough words to tell you how wonderful the de Seversky team is! Don't waste your time looking at other venues:) The NYIT de Seversky Mansion staff is top notch. Robert Jay, Olivia, Jose, Sam, John and all the other support staff are a highly organized, professional, classy, and well integrated team. They anticipate your every need. The food is delicious! Take the stress out of wedding and event planning by booking your event at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion.
The NYIT de Seversky Mansion was perfect for us. Guests were greeted in the library with a glass of champagne and water and then we had an outdoor wedding underneath their beautiful linden tree out back. Everything was so dreamy! Then we had cocktail hour with spaces inside and outside for guests to wander. Many guests said the cocktail hour was the best one they've ever been to!Then we had dinner in the ballroom (European style -- which we loved). People could actually talk and enjoy their meals without running off to the dance floor for a song they love. The food for dinner was delicious and no one ever had an empty glass ;) We had speeches in there and then we went over to the garden room for dancing and dessert. People loved that they could sit and talk with their family members while being able to see what's happening on the dance floor or hop on the dance floor! The desserts were awesome! We had a Belgian waffle bar with cake and then donuts for guests on the way out. The staff at the de Seversky was TOP NOTCH. Jose (maitre d) and the bridal attendants Melissa and Kim were so attentive and made the night run SO smoothly. Jose really is a master in his field and knows all the tips and tricks that I never would've thought of (one example - not giving the actual rings to the ring bearers! and just the boxes! haha). JoAnna was the salesperson that helped us plan every detail all along the way and she really made us feel like we were in great hands! She really made it all come together. I am so happy we went with this venue. The venue itself doesn't need a lot of decorations, which was a plus for us. We wanted something different and it ended up being so romantic and dreamy.
My husband and I got married at De Seversky Mansion on May 25, 2019, and it was truly the best day of our lives! Their attention to detail and commitment to making sure our day was perfect cannot be beat! Combine that with the STUNNING beauty of the mansion itself, and it's a no brainer ! We are so grateful to all of the staff at De Seversky from our director- Robert, the chef and kitchen staff, my bridal attendant -Melissa, maitre'd Jose, and everyone else who played a part in our special day. They were talented, professional, courteous, and always there to help! Our guests raved about the food (which was absolutely spectacular), service, and beauty of the venue! One of the best wedding planning decisions we made was choosing De Seversky as our venue, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to have the wedding of their dreams!
We had our wedding here in April and I can’t say enough about how wonderful this venue is. All our guests were amazed by how beautiful and well kept the mansion is compared to other venues. Even the groom was impressed, and he’s notoriously hard to please. My in-laws own a restaurant, so we wanted top notch food. Everyone was blown away by the quality of the food!
But most important, the staff are absolutely phenomenal! They are extremely professional and dedicated to the events they produce. Everything was seamless the day of and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our officiant was late, and they were able to find an alternative before we even knew there was an issue. At the last minute, they were able to swap the ceremony and cocktail hour and find another officiant for us.
All of their preferred vendors were top notch and didn’t disappoint either. We used their preferred vendors for photography and floral and were thrilled with the results.
If you want to throw a top notch wedding that your friends and family will talk about for years to come, this is the place to go.
This venue was an absolute dream. From the moment my now HUSBAND (Ah!) and I stepped into the marble lobby, we were sold. Due to the nature of the mansion, we had a European style reception. Essentially, just means we dined in the dining room and then moved to the ballroom after for dancing for the remainder of the night. It’s definitely different than what you get from many traditional venues, but we loved that. We were able to have great conversation at dinner and enjoy the meal spate from the DJ and dark ballroom.
They venue itself is stunning! The grounds, the architecture, and detail are astounding. The mansion is 100 years old and sits set back off Northern Blvd allowing a gorgeous drive up a tree lined driveway. But in addition to this gorgeous building, the staff is INCREDIBLE! We worked with Rocio since we booked, but any and all staff had helped us at one point or another. Always so responsive and accommodating. We had Jose for our matree’d and Kristen as my day-of bridal attendant. This team is ALL OVER IT! I truly trusted them with every detail and because of them, the entire day was flawless! As a control freak myself, it’s difficult for me to entrust the details to someone else, but I felt assured by this awesome team.
Now for the food… absolutely delicious. My fiancé and I attended a bridal showcase at de Seversky right before booking with our parents where we tasted the delicious passed hors’derves and station food. The Chef at de Seversky is unbelievable! Every bite was delicious and EVERYONE was raving about the grandiose cocktail hour and perfectly cooked steak for dinner… never mind the truffle mashed potatoes, the food was truly a huge hit which was an important factor to us.
The night was truly magical, accented by the stunning details and wonderful staff at de Seversky Mansion.
The de Seversky Mansion gave me my dream wedding. My friends and family seriously refer to our wedding as the "Wedding of the Century," and that is all due to the unbelievable staff at the de Seversky Mansion. There is so much to write about the de Seversky Mansion so I will just hit some of the ultimate highs. First, everything was so organized the day of the wedding. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour to dinner and dancing- there was never anything I had to worry about.
Second, the Mansion is so well-kept, clean and just stunning. There are very few venues that you get to have all to yourself. We did a European-style wedding and got to really spend time in all different parts of the mansion. While the pictures look incredible, de Seversky is even more speculator in person.
Third, the staff is top-notch. Jessica Wontz is a rockstar and bent over backwards to make sure my day was perfect. She would talk to me on weekends and calm me down as I freaked out about wedding prep. Jessica is also extremely organized and professional. She really became a friend throughout the process! We feel so beyond grateful to have her part of our wedding planning process. Also, Jose, our maitre, was the absolute best. He made sure that everything the night of wedding was perfect. He was so professional and really ran the Mansion like a well-oiled machine.
Fourth, the FOOD. No words to describe how delicious it was. This is not wedding food, it is seriously a gourmet meal. When our friends talk about our wedding they always say, "the food was incredible and there was so much of it!"
I could go on and on, but overall the de Seversky was everything I wanted and more. They are an unbelievable wedding venue and if you can secure a date, book it! You will have the wedding of the year!
My wedding could be described as a perfect fairy tale. As a little girl you always dream of this day (damn the patriarchy am I right? haha) and on Saturday I felt like a princess. It could not have been a better day. I have no words to describe how incredible the staff is. I kept hearing from my guest how amazing the attention was and I have to agree. Melissa, the bridal attendant made sure everything went perfectly, she was an amazing Fairy god Sister (shes to young and beautiful to be a fairy godmother haha). She remained calm and always had a solution to even the smallest of problems. (With champagne!)
The staff there are worth their weight in gold.
I wish we could have been a guest at our wedding!
Firstly, the venue has to be one of the most beautiful mansions I've ever seen. It's tastefully decorated with ornate design that is not over the top. We got married 12/1/18 and the venue was decorated for Christmas which gave It such character- I highly recommend this for any winter brides !
Rocio was our sales coordinator & she made everything easy, streamlined and professional. Any questions I had were answered quickly and resolutely.
We opted for the Gatsby style which was the coolest idea we had ever seen. Why should guests need to sit when you say to eat a salad?! We were very interested in having our guests do what THEY wanted. Whether that was eating, drinking, dancing or just sitting and catching up with family & friends.
Nearly all of our 225 guests made their way into each part of the mansion throughout the party. There was never empty rooms or too full rooms. It really made our wedding special and quite unique.
The food- WOW. Our tasting we were sad we wouldn't be experiencing all the food but our maitre'd Jose and all the staff were so amazing. They stole us and hid us in rooms filled with all our food choices so that we could enjoy too ! I think that made my husbands and mines day- we didn't miss out on our wonderful cuisine.
All of the staff went above and beyond. There was never a dirty dish or empty glass left out too long; there was always someone there to help clean.
My bridal attendant Melissa was exceptional. She followed my dress and made sure It didn't drag, grabbed me food and water and reminded me to just take it all in. I called her my caboose because she was always right behind me taking such wonderful care !
The bars kept our guests very happy- with top shelf liquor and fun bartenders who were friendly and respectful !
I really have no negative comments - other then we wish they would let us do It again, like tomorrow!
De Seversky, you outdid our expectations. Thank you again to all the staff that made our day happen.
Our wedding was everything we wanted and so much more. Any expectation I had was far exceeded. Jessica was amazing and provided the best assistance leading up to our wedding that I could have wanted! Plus she was there day of to see me walk down the aisle. Our day of team was amazing. Jose was meticulous, Melissa was beyond attentive. We wanted a dessert cafe for our wedding. I thought they'd just throw some stuff on trays. Nope! They created a stunning display using existing decor! It was more than I expected. Our family and friends are still raving about the food, the attentiveness of the servers, the strength of the drinks, and the beauty of the mansion. There is nothing I would have changed about our wedding. It was magical.
It’s been two weeks since our wedding day at deSeversky, and I still can’t seem to find the words to describe how amazed and lucky I feel to have chosen them for the most memorable day of our lives. From the immaculate and picturesque grounds that took my breath away at every turn, the attentiveness of the management team who answered every email and question with patience and kindness, the professionalism and perfection from our Maitre’d’s, bridal attendant, bartenders and wait staff who made us feel welcomed and treated us like family, the delicious food and drinks that never ran out... I will be reliving our day for years to come. If you’re looking for a unique venue that exudes quality, quantity and perfection with each of their clients, this is it. Thank you deSeverksy team for the perfect day.
Just stop your search now. NYIT was EVERYTHING we imagined. We had the Gatsby style and honestly, we don't know how we will ever go to a formal sit down wedding again. Everyone at Seversky was so knowledgable and easy to talk to. They made sure our day was exactly what we pictured. The food was INCREDIBLE and people will not stop gushing about the different foods and the DESSERTS (waffle station was the big winner). The venue speaks for itself the second you drive up. I would have my wedding here over and over again. Thank you for making our day everything we could ever dream of!
With my side from Maryland, his side from Queens/LI/New Jersey, and most of our friends from the Tri-State area, it just made sense to get married in NY. Engaged in May 2017, we knew we wanted June or September of 2018 and narrowed down our venue selections for visits. After visiting de Seversky, we went to another Jersey City venue, but we could not stop thinking about the mansion. After making sure it checked off all the boxes, we brought my parents to the venue and they saw how much we loved it, so we booked it for 9/15/18!
With what we thought was going to be a wedding for 220 (we ended up with about 180), they were hesitant that the space was going to be too crowded or the flow from room to room was going to be strange, but it was exactly everything I could have hoped for!
My planner, Leah Weinberg of Color Pop Events, and Rocio Morello worked together seamlessly from what I saw and Rocio or Jessica was always there with a quick answer to a question I emailed in. The team at the mansion was top-notch, super professional, and my Dad was quite impressed with our tasting event, which was delicious (get the sea bass!).
On the day-of, the bridal attendant team, maitre'd, and his staff were amazing, always inquiring if we were in need of anything and gently working through the timeline and getting people to the different rooms of the mansion as the night progressed from cocktails, to dinner in the dining room and atrium, to dancing in the ballroom.
As soon as we stepped on campus at NYIT, we fell in love with de Seversky. Nothing else could come close and throughout the whole process, we felt genuinely cared for. Our guests had the most amazing time on the most gorgeous September evening and for that I am extremely grateful for everyone’s hard-work to make our day so special. Thank you!
This venue is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. It is by far the most beautiful and well kept mansion on Long Island for weddings. I went to the Bourne Mansion and a few of the other top ones, and the Seversky had much better customer service, food, and aesthetics. The staff was also exceedingly helpful and kind. On the day of the wedding everything ran smoothly and my guests were so impressed with the venue. It was one of the highlights of the evening. Also, this place is extremely photogenic, so your pictures will come out fantastic.
From the moment we drove up to the mansion, my husband and I knew this was the perfect venue! As soon as we walked into the elegant enterance, we were greeted by the most helpful wedding planner, Rocio. During the initial tour, she informed us of the wedding style options for our wedding- we ultimately chose the European style—which is where you choose one room to eat dinner and another room to dance in (this was a HUGE hit on the wedding day). The grounds were well manicured, and each room was a perfect reminder of the Gold Coast era. During the planning process, we were able to visit the mansion for several of their bridal show cases and for the tasting with our families! We were able to pick out the menu ahead of time- needless to say, everything from the tasting was at our wedding!
Rocio was truly an angel! She made the planning process easy and enjoyable. She answered our emails quickly and eased our stressors!
On the day of the wedding, on mai’tre d, Jackie, was the best! She made our wedding flow seamlessly and we had so much fun! We were concerned that our guests would not get the concept of the European style- however Jackie and her staff were amazing! They told all of our guests during dinner that we would be moving to another room to dance. The feedback from our guests were so positive about the room reveals- they loved the different rooms and the ambience of each!
The food was incredible! The cocktail hour had an indoor/outdoor vibe were the guests could walk around the mansion. Everyone is still raving about the lamb chops and lobster tails served at cocktail hour. The dinner was amazing! When my husband and I walked around to thank our guests during dinner, every plate was empty! We served filet mignon, Chilean sea bass (phenomenal) and rosemary chicken. Dessert was served separately during the dancing portion of the evening (similar to cocktail style in which there were passed desserts and stations).
De Seversky Mansion was truly the best part of the wedding! From the grounds, the food, the staff- everything was perfect!
I have only the wonderful things to say about our experience getting married at de severesky! From the moment we first met Rocio and the team we felt so comfortable and had a great experience the entire time - the mansion and grounds are breathtaking and designed perfectly for weddings. Everything was extremely organized from our first appointment through the day of our wedding. We had a plan A (outside ceremony) and plan B (inside ceremony). Each option presented pure magic - we were fortunate to have our wedding on a beautiful summer day, and we utilized all the rooms in de severesky, outside and inside. However if we had to do everything inside it would have been phenomenal. Cocktail hour, dinner and dancing were all perfect following the ceremony. the food was delicious (no surprise since it’s a culinary institute!). Having our wedding at de severesky truly made a dream wedding into a reality - you can’t go wrong with this venue!
Our wedding was Saturday May 12th, 2018 at the de Seversky Mansion, and it was truly everything we ever could have wanted and beyond! My husband and I had never heard of this venue before starting our research, but when we pulled up to visit in March 2017, we knew right away this was a very special place. This was the first venue we toured and the only one we truly seriously considered. The class, grace, and elegance of the mansion itself, the grounds, and the staff is unmatched. We worked closely with Rocio from start to finish - she is the definition of a patient, organized, and knowledgable sales and event professional! She was incredibly responsive to us, along with our families, and was extremely timely and thorough in all communication. We were so pleased to work with her and we also had the good fortune to communicate with other members of the deSeversky staff throughout our planning process and on the day of the wedding - all of whom were just as awesome (the chef, the amazing maitre'Ds - Jose and Jackie, my lovely bridal attendant Kim, among several others). This made all the difference on our big day, and during the months and days leading up to the wedding, as we knew we could count on them to answer any questions quickly and thoroughly. All of our vendors, including and especially our coordinator, Kelli Teglas, were delighted to work with the staff at this venue. The planning and vendor resources provided to us by the venue were priceless. Note that it's highly recommended and financially optimal to choose from the list of preferred florists - we worked with Diana and her team at Petals Floral and Party Design in Locust Valley. Look no further than them - Diana is amazing to work with, sweet, and so talented, and our flowers were to die for! We also opted for one of the recommended cake bakers - Wonderful Wedding Cakes in Locust Valley. Kristan was awesome to work with and accommodated every request we had for our cake, even those requests (Nutella, fresh raspberries) that other bakeries could not. If you can, be sure to attend the Bridal Show at the venue - this was our first time sampling the venue's food and we were blown away. This is not typical wedding food! It was clear from everything we tried at the Bridal Show and from our tasting, which we did in January 2018, that the level of technique, expertise, and sophistication the chef brings to the table is well beyond anything we could have asked for. The same chef who prepared our tasting worked with us to assemble our menu, and he was the same chef present on our wedding day. The quality and beauty of the food didn't waiver one bit. The food at our wedding was abundant and varied, but there weren't piles of it, like you might see elsewhere. It didn't look or feel cheap or ridiculous in it's volume. It was presented in the most beautiful way possible. Our many special requests related to food and drink (royal wedding inspired welcome drinks, customized cuts of meat, specific flavor profiles for our desserts) were graciously accommodated. This goes without saying that virtually ALL of our requests for specifics were met and exceeded. Everything from the huge bridal suite, to the enclosed glass room for indoor ceremonies, to the grand piano, to the fountains, to the incredible landscaping, to the proximity to the city and our other vendors made this the perfect place to hold our wedding. We cannot say enough about this beautiful place and their amazing staff!
I can't say enough wonderful things about Seversky Mansion. From the moment we found out we could have our ceremony on the lawn under their absolutely dreamy Linden Tree and dance the night away in their "Garden Room", we knew this could be the place. And all of that was absolutely magical on our special day. Every space at Seversky Mansion is stunning, with so much grandeur, character and charm. But, what was really important to us was that we could trust the people we were working with and at every point of contact with our coordinator Gina, we knew we made the right decision. She answered all my e-mails immediately. Even when she wasn't in the office, she had auto-reply, letting you know exactly when she would be back and replied immediately then. She is polite, sweet, knowledgable and just extremely professional. The whole planning process was so smooth!!
As if Gina wasn't wonderful enough, we had the pleasure of working with Jackie, as Maitre'd, and Melissa, as bridal attendant. Jackie handled our day with confidence, professionalism, a smiling face and friendly attitude, and took every opportunity to go above and beyond our expectations. You can really tell she loves what she does! The littlest things she did just made the day that much more perfect. Offering me an iced coffee before I jumped into our reception, digging up Zinfandel for 2 guests who asked for it, making sure our odd requests were carried out flawlessly, above and beyond our expectations.
And Melissa was always by my side with a sweet smile, doing all of the running around for me getting that Iced coffee I didn't even know I needed, making sure everyone was in place where I needed them, my dress was in place, and I was always enjoying one of our signature cocktails!
Compliments to the chef as well for all of the delicious food!! And for also going above and beyond with our special dessert request. It truly exceeded our expectations and made the moment so special!
We had such an amazing day! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Seversky Mansion and the wonderful staff there.
From the moment my now husband and I stepped foot on the property, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. The mansion is absolutely gorgeous and we had always wanted to get married in a gold-coast inspired mansion. Our wedding photos came out amazing and all of our guest raved about the food (which is rare, since most wedding venues usually serve sub-par food). We decided to go with the mansion style wedding, where there is no assigned seating, so our guest could really explore the mansion and blend with other guests that they would mostly likely not know. We thought that concept worked beautifully. Rocio, our coordinator was excellent and was very good at explaining answers to our questions and making suggestions. We were really needy and probably annoying but she really had patience for us. The day was beautiful and I wouldn't really change a thing. The only qualms we had were that the De Seversky attendants had difficulty keeping guest out while we were rehearsing and I was seen in my dress prematurely. We addressed the issue and they reacted immediately. We also had an issue after the wedding was over, since all of our things were thrown into a box, and our wedding topper was destroyed. Luckily, the bakery said they would replicate it, and it didn't ruin our day. Besides that, our day was everything we dreamed it would be, and I would highly recommended De Seversky to anyone who wants to have a wedding that people will talk about. It is definitely a very special venue and will always hold a piece of our hearts.
The staff at de Seversky went above and beyond for our wedding on June 1st. Everything was set up perfectly and the food was amazing (all of our guests raved about the food). We had a particularly humid day and our bridal attendant made sure we stayed hydrated and happy for our photos. Not one detail went overlooked. Gina made the planning process virtually stress free and Jackie was attentive and made sure all of our needs were met. Our wedding was everything we could have possibly dreamed of. We look forward to visiting de Severksy again soon! The de Seversky mansion will not disappoint.
My wife and I loved everything about the de Seversky from beginning to end. We had the pleasure of working with Gina and the initial presentation was on point. The planning process was as organized as it gets and the attention to detail is impressive. She was very accommodating and really did make it so much easier on us. We were also very happy with all of the preferred vendor recommendations.
Apart from the charm of the venue the food is excellent, and as important,
is consistent. It’s always difficult to maintain a high level of food quality for 200+ people but the chef delivered without question and we received a ton of positive feedback from our guests. Hats off to the chef and whole kitchen staff.
Our maitre d’ Jackie ran the show and it went off without a hitch. She really was great and couldn’t have been nicer. She read the crowd, coordinated with the MC and everything ran smooth without disruption. The bridal attendant Kim did not disappoint and went out of her way in every way that she could.
In summary: classy venue that provides for incredible photography opps. with food second to none. Powerhouse staff from start to finish with flawless execution and smiles to boot. Hoping we get invited to a wedding here soon! Thank you again to all at de Seversky especially Gina, Jackie and Kim!!
Having our wedding at the mansion was the best decision we made that day. We loved all of our vendors, but de Seversky was by far the best. The staff was incredible, the food delicious, and our guests were SO very much entertained. The mansion gives you an option that most catering halls cannot, and that's the ability to make the party your own party. You as a couple write the script, no one else.
My husband and I selected the Gatsby style reception and were thrilled with how everything came together. Leading up to the day, Rocio was incredible. The entire mansion staff, whomever was responsible for whatever, made no hesitation to contact us and set up a schedule to prepare. From the set-up, to the menu, to the tasting, to the payment plans, to day of, the process was exciting and will be remembered forever. Spending the best day of our lives here will forever be a treasured memory.
Having our wedding at deseversky was the best decision we could’ve made. The absolute best service, food, ambiance. Rocio was INCREDIBLE during the planning process. She responded so quickly and took care of all of our needs and questions! Jackie, our maitre’d made the night move so seamlessly and let us enjoy our night without us having to worry about keeping the night moving along. We had the European Style reception and we definitely made the right decision! It was not the typical Long Island wedding reception so it’ll definitely be memorable! Thank you Rocio, Jackie, and the staff that made our day unbelievable !!!!!
We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Deseversky Mansion and their staff.
We looked at quite a few venues on Long Island and our vision kept bringing us back to this mansion. Actually, from our first visit there I felt it was the only venue where I wanted our wedding reception to take place. It is a step back in time with beautiful interior and grounds- even in the winter.
Although our guest list was at the max for this venue, we decided to go with it and slightly adjust our numbers. We planned the European style reception and it was a huge success with our guests, many of whom had never experienced this type of reception.
During the planning stages of our wedding, Jessica and Rocio were extremely accessible and responsive to any and all of our questions. They were easy to collaborate with and were open to new ideas to fit our needs.
When wedding day arrived, the dependable staff at DS impressed us even more. Jackie and her team ran the reception to what I would call perfection, and it showed. My family and I were put at ease and could enjoy the entire day because the DS team was so helpful, punctual, and controlled the entire behind-the-scenes seamlessly. They were true professionals that made our event happen and really cared that it was our dream day.
If we had to do our wedding over, we wouldn’t change a thing and we would come right back to this venue and staff. Thank you Jessica, Rocio, Jackie, and Team! You are the dream team!
There are not enough words to express how fabulous the de Seversky Mansion is! From the moment we stepped into the mansion on our first visit we were in love. And the staff and service is out of this world! Our guests loved the atmosphere and phenomenal food (can we talk about that duck confit risotto?) We did the European style everyone loved how different it was.
Huge shout out to our coordinator Rocio and Jessica as well for all their help making our day a fairytale. And the bridal attendant Joan was literally my fairy godmother for the day! Everyone went above and beyond to make our wedding absolutely perfect! Could not be happier with our choice and would recommend the venue to anyone! Even now, almost a year later we are still getting compliments on what a unique and elegant affair it was.
My husband and I were married at de Seversky last spring. The day was better than we could have imagined and our guests are still telling us to this day that it was the best wedding they’ve been to. The mansion and grounds are beautiful and, as we chose the European style (dancing following dinner), we were able to utilize every room in the mansion. This really helped make our wedding unique, which was important to us. We also had our ceremony at de Seversky, and were lucky to have beautiful weather and be married outside. De Seversky offers several location options for the ceremony, one of which is a glass-enclosed room. This was our backup option in case of bad weather. Having this as a backup option relieved all weather related stress, as we knew we could be indoors for our ceremony if necessary, but still get the feeling of being outside. All of the staff were super nice and helpful, especially our sales consultant Jessica. Jessica was patient and accommodating, was happy to meet with us when requested, answered all of the questions we asked via email or phone, and provided tips and insight when appropriate. I don’t think our wedding would have been as perfect as it was without her. Another standout employee was the bridal attendant Joan. Joan helped me with things I didn’t even realize I needed help with, and really went above and beyond. For example, she brought my husband and me a plate of food during the cocktail hour since we were busy talking to our guests and probably wouldn’t have had a chance to enjoy it otherwise. Even though this was a small gesture, it was so thoughtful and really appreciated. The food at the cocktail hour and dinner was delicious! I would absolutely recommend de Seversky as a venue, and my husband and I are hoping we get invited to an event at de Seversky so we can enjoy everything all over again!
My husband and I fell in love with the De Seversky mansion the first time we visited it. We choose it for our wedding in March of 2017 and everything was amazing. The staff went out of their way to make our special day wonderful. They worked with us on every detail to make sure it was just how we pictured it. Thank you De Seversky for an amazing memory!!
My husband and I chose De Seversky for our May 2014 wedding and besides deciding to marry each other it was the best decision we made for our wedding! Upon driving the winding road that leads to thre hidden mansion you know that you stumbled onto something truly magical and unique. The mansion seems to emerge form the trees and it screams grandeur and elegance. The grounds are impeccably kept and the photo opportunities around the mansion are abundant. The inside of the mansion is extremely well kept and not one inch is overlooked. We chose this venue specifically for its European style wedding which allows guests to fully experience the entire mansion. And I absolutely loved that we had exclusive use of the property. The food is amazing. Nothing like your standard wedding catering hall options. Our sales rep, Jessica was so approachable and we quickly hit it off. She truly made us feel that we were her one and only clients planning a wedding at the mansion. The entire staff was welcoming and accommodating, not just the night of our wedding, but each time we stopped by. Perhaps the biggest compliment one could give is that our family loved De Seversky so much that my sister and her husband chose to have their wedding reception here in May 2017. This place has truly become a part of our family. There is no other place like it.
I got married at De Seversky 9/23/17. Everything was incredible. We finalized our venue decision summer 2016 and my mom fell so in love with the venue, she was there once a week for the next 6 weeks. Jessica was extremely receptive and patient with some of the ridiculous requests coming from my parents. Our tasting was phenomenal and the chief was very accommodating and agreeable to add as much bacon as possible to our menu. Jessica also found a way to get one of my husband's favorite beers. You always worry about how the food will turn out at the actual event, but everyone loved it. The staff also really knew how to cater to the bride and I felt so special. We loved the venue and the staff so much, we've already booked a joint birthday party for my parents in 2022!
We went into wedding planning with such high expectations on what we wanted our day to be like. Mainly because we have both seen hundreds of weddings over our careers in the wedding industry. de Seversky not only met our expectations but truly excelled at exceeding them.
Rocio was our consultant who was fabulous! I always felt like communication
and her level of customer service was exceptional. She was so attentive and responsive. Through this entire planning
process, I have been grateful for the time you always took to help out with any questions or concerns we had. We appreciated her timely responses and
all of the hard work she put in to make sure our concerns were addressed and we were taken care of.
One of the main reasons we decided to look into de Seversky was because of all of the reviews we saw about the food. Every single item that was served at our wedding was nothing short of perfect. It is very apparent that the chef has a high level of finesse and passion for what he does. I am still getting texts and calls about
how dinner was the “most amazing wedding food” our guests have ever experienced. To us, the artistry of what was served spanned so far beyond just
“wedding food” He even took the time to customize meals for my husband and I and any guests who had allergies. I have a severe wheat allergy and my husband doesn’t eat beef or pork. They made sure we had plenty of options.
The waitstaff was great. Melissa, our bridal attendant was there for us the day of every step of the way. She made herself so easily accessible and
helped with things that I did not even think of. She was so friendly and helpful the entire day from the second she arrived in the bridal suite.
Another part of what made this such an amazing experience was being able to have Jackie as our Maitre’d. Out of every Maitre’d
I’ve worked with or have had to communicate with, Jackie was sincerely the best. From start to finish, she was there for us the entire time the event
was going on if and when we needed her. She is so warm and personable and we felt at ease with her running our party. She made us laugh & enjoy our
time even more. But most importantly, we felt like a priority. I know that in this industry we see tons of weddings every week or month or what have you. But during
the time of our event, we felt like we had her undivided attention and that we and our guests truly mattered. The amount of effort she put into making our
wedding such a huge success is a true measure of what the hospitality industry is all about!
My husband John and I got married here on 8/11/17. We had the PERFECT day! Everything was exactly how we wanted and planned out precisely. The staff, Rocio and Jackie in particular were excellent! Rocio answered every question I had, no matter how many! The grounds are absultely beautiful and the food is amazing! Friends and family were so impressed with the way the wedding flowed from room to room and how well the event was coordinated. Everything felt effortless, and it is a day we will always remember. Thank you de Seversky for our truly wonderful experience!
My husband and I had our wedding reception at the DeSeversky Mansion on May 20, 2017. There truly is no other place that compares (I know because I’ve searched.) Shortly after getting engaged my then fiancée and I began looking at venues from Manhattan, New Jersey and others in Long Island, but nothing quite compared to the beauty, uniqueness and hospitality at the mansion. My sister had her wedding reception here in 2014 and after looking at other venues I kept referring back to the mansion and to the experience I shared with her on her wedding day, nothing else compared! The planning process was a breeze with Anna and Jessica who were both extremely accommodating. Our wedding reception was perfect from start to finish, the grounds were meticulous, the food was superb and our guests still compliment our wedding as being one of the best they’ve ever attended! After having two family weddings there, the mansion almost feels like “home” and now that my husband and I are expecting our first child, we are planning to have our baby’s christening reception here as well! Needless to say, the DeSeversky Mansion is a spectacular place and you will not be disappointed!
If I could give the team and staff at de Seversky Mansion more stars I would! From the very first day we walked onto the grounds of the mansion I knew that this was going to be the place I would marry the love of my life and then party with all of my favorite people. Rocio and Jessica were able to make my dreams come true. They were extremely helpful in every aspect of our planning from suggestions on different vendors to reminding us on important dates. I was very anxious as I have never been apart of another wedding nor have I come close to planning anything of this scale. They constantly eased my worries and made planning our big day truly enjoyable. The venue truly speaks for itself in terms of aesthetics. If you're looking to go back in time and host a party like Gatsby this is the place. The grounds are meticulously kept and everyone that works there is so professional and welcoming. The staff was very accommodating and let me stop by or schedule appointments whenever to stop in and review any questions I had. I cannot say that I've had one negative moment while I was there. leading up to the wedding date we had a wonderful tasting of the cocktail and dinner fare that was to be served and it was just exceptional. The day of was truly a day I would never forget. Julio, Joan and the rest of the staff were there for us every step of the way and did not skip a beat. My husband and I did not have to lift a finger and we were able to enjoy every moment of our wedding. My only wish is that I could do it all over again and with the all the same people!
We got married here on 7/29/17 and it could not have been any more perfect. The venue is absolutely breathtaking, and once it's all decorated for your wedding it's even more amazing! We also had our ceremony there under the Linden Tree in the back and it was truly magical.
We did the European style and our guests loved it! The food at cocktail hour exceeded every expectation and the dinner was amazing. We also added the pretzel to go station and our guests REALLY loved that, so much so that they ran out!
As for the staff, our maitre d was Jackie and she was phenomenal! I recommend anyone having their wedding there to request her. The bridal attendant made sure everything was taken care of and was my shadow the entire night. Every time I turned around she had a drink or a plate of food for us.
I recommend de Seversky to anyone looking for a different venue that exudes class and sophistication.
My fiancé and I were searching for venues and this was one of the places we considered. However, when it came to responding to emails, their team did not respond in a timely manner. Then when we showed up for our appointment, there was no one in the office to greet us. We waited for 30 mins and no one ever showed up. Very unprofessional with their lack of service when we tried to set a meeting with them.
