Michelle with Occasions by Emily was wonderful to work with. She was our wedding planner and our florist. She helped us find quality vendors even with a short time line of only 4 months to plan. She was flexible with last minute requests and was willing to help with delivery and pick up of some items as our wedding venue was 45 minutes outside of Asheville. She was so calm and helpful on our wedding day and made sure the day/evening flowed smoothly. She is very reasonable priced and the flowers were stunning!! Highly recommend!

The flowers for my wedding were beautiful!! She was spot on with my request for deep dark colors with fun textures. She was prompt with delivery (even though my location was not easy to navigate). Very happy customer!

MICHELLE IS THE MOST AMAZING PERSON IN THE WORLD!!! She can handle LITERALLY everything! My husband and I got married 2 months ago, and we are STILL in awe of how perfectly executed our wedding was, thanks to Michelle. We originally hired her to create the bouquets and hang string lights in our reception hall. Michelle mentioned that she also coordinated, but my husband and I as well as several members of the wedding party are actually in the wedding industry, so we naively thought we were fine without it, we could handle it ourselves. It wasn't until crunch time, maybe a month away that we decided we wanted to actually enjoy our day and not be in work mode, and asked Michelle if she could do the day-of coordinating as well…BEST DECISION OF OUR LIVES. From the moment we asked her to coordinate, she had EVERYTHING under control. She was easy to talk with, wonderful personality, and completely chill the entire day. Our venue was 2 hours away from Asheville (where we got our cake from) and she even picked up the cake and returned the stand for us!! She was going to come the day of the wedding with the flowers, cake, and to string the lights before the wedding got started, but decided on her own that she wanted to come up the day before and hang the lights so that she would be completely available for anything that might come up the day of the wedding. This stuck out so much to me because it proves that she is dedicated to the job and was committed to doing whatever it took to make it a perfect day, even if that meant making the drive the day before. While on the subject of the lights: I originally asked her to do just 4 straight lines down the length of the venue for additional lighting. When she got in and saw the space, she came up with a BEAUTIFUL lighting design that completely transformed the space; I never would have even envisioned it! As for the flowers: they were absolutely stunning!! We wanted something more along the lines of wildflowers, and the bouquets blew me away! She has such an incredible way of taking your vision and completely capturing it while amplifying it beyond all measure! On the coordinating side: The biggest thing that stood out to me was how she kept everything on track the entire time, seemingly behind the scenes. If anything happened that wasn't anticipated we never knew about it. She took care of everything with every vendor while maintaining a calm, pleasant energy throughout the whole night. While we were doing our exit she packed up all of our decorations, cake, etc. and took the initiative to even load them into our cabin (which was right beside the and event venue) which was a HUGE lifesaver!! I could go on and on forever about all of the different ways she went so far above and beyond for us and our special day. She started as our florist, and ended up being our florist, lighting designer, cake deliverer, coordinator, and beyond. We both, being in the industry, have worked with hundreds of planners/decorators/etc. and I would NEVER recommend anyone higher than Michelle and her team. We are endlessly grateful for everything she did for us and I CANNOT recommend her and her team enough!!!!

Michelle was fantastic! She was always quick to respond and dealt with my many questions. She stuck with us through over an entire year, three postponements and a venue change (Thanks Covid!) I was not stressed at all working with her and our wedding turned out beautifully in large part to her! I would highly recommend her to anyone :)

Michelle (@Occasions by Emily) did an amazing job with all of the personals (bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres) for my wedding. She also provided the most beautifully decorated arbor for our ceremony as well. Highly recommend!

I have been avoiding writing this review, because I don't want to be "that bride," but my experience with Occasions by Emily was disappointing. I picked Michelle because her prices were the most reasonable that I found, I enjoyed how she pulled pictures from my Pinterest board for the proposal, and I really enjoyed my first meeting with her (she even brought me a little jar of flowers). However, my service on my wedding day and after left me very disappointed. I am admittedly kind of a control freak and conveyed to Michelle multiple times that I was anxious not knowing exactly what my flowers would look like, but she assured me they would be a beautiful surprise. My flowers ended up causing me way more stress on my wedding day. I had asked for my flowers to be primarily hot pink, yellow, and white, with accents of purple, orange, and light pink. Michelle used beautiful hot pink peonies and chamomile like I had requested, but there was very little yellow in my flowers. What I think the florists were seeing as yellow was really more orange. This may not sound like a big deal, but colors and having everything coordinate is important in a wedding!! The bouquets that arrived did not match what I had in mind at all because of the colors. I was also disappointed with how my bouquet looked much smaller than I imagined based on the pictures we had used in the proposal. In addition to this, Michelle-who was the only contact I had had all along-was not the one that delivered my flowers. The florist that dropped off the flowers was someone I had never talked to, who then just left even though I was clearly disappointed. So, this left me, two of my bridesmaids, and my mother-in-law spending valuable time on my wedding morning fixing my flowers to be what I wanted. Luckily we had flowers left over from our welcome party, so we were able to remove the orange flowers and replace them with yellow ones, as well as adding more filler around the outside to make my bouquet look bigger. The bouquets were gorgeous in the end, once they were the right colors. However, since the boutonnieres were delivered straight to the boys at the venue, they were still the orangey yellow and weren't able to be fixed. When I got to the venue, there continued to be issues with the flowers. I had asked for flowers to be placed on all three tiers of the cake, and they were left off the top (with no yellow to be seen). The color scheme was not followed well, with there being very little yellow overall, and there being no more hot pink than any other color. There was really more greenery than flowers in a lot of the arrangements. I was encouraged by my bridesmaids and my husband to reach out to Michelle after the wedding to tell her about all the issues with my flowers. I wanted to give her a chance to explain and/or apologize before writing a negative review. Michelle was not apologetic at all, instead blaming me for being too picky and suggesting that I should have done my flowers myself. She also insinuated that I was the pickiest bride she had ever had because I wanted to nail down what kinds of flowers would and would not be used, even though this is definitely a normal part of wedding floral design!! Overall, the flowers were nice, and I'm sure the guests didn't notice they weren't right, but they were not what I asked for. As professional florists, they should have been able to do something as simple as following the right color scheme.

Michelle is just one of those special people that just "gets it" right away. When you work with Occasions by Emily, you get so much more than a florist. You get an entire team of amazing women who incorporate so many beautiful elements of design and decor into your flowers. I was so impressed with how she transformed my vision for a classic white wedding at the Grove Park Inn into an absolute fairytale dream while staying perfectly within my budget. I've had so many guests tell me how elegant my bouquets, centerpieces, tablescapes and arrangements were. It was so very evident that they were made with so much love, care and attention to detail. Michelle was wonderful to work with and had such a calming, happy energy that always put me at ease. She was always willing to work with me to make adjustments leading up to my wedding, and I could not be happier with the outcome on my big day! Thank you Michelle and team!

Occasions By Emily came through on our wedding day! I worked directly with Michelle and she did an amazing job with planning each floral arrangement and decoration at both the ceremony and reception. I gave her the colors I was wanting and some picture ideas but really let her do the rest and she did not disappoint. They even assisted with some props that I wouldn't have expected a florist to have so Michelle and team really did help me out and made our wedding absolutely stunning. We were even able to donate some of the larger pieces to a hospital the next day and they couldn't get over how gorgeous the arrangements were. I highly recommend them for any occasion!

Occasions By Emily was the best! Michelle helped us with everything, wedding planning and flowers. She totally transformed our venue and it looked AMAZING! I love how Michelle listened to what was important to us! And truly took care of every little detail. Our wedding was so special and I couldn't have done it with out Occasions By Emily!!

I LOVED working with Michelle. We contacted her almost less than a month before our actual wedding due to some extenuating circumstances (our event decorator backed out last minute and neither my husband nor I could be at the wedding destination until 2 weeks before the wedding). Needless to say, we were definitely scrambling. But, Michelle worked with us -- she's so patient, caring, and on top of things. I honestly don't know that we would've had such a magical and exciting night if it weren't for her and all of her help/expertise. She executed our vision perfectly -- it was even better than we could ever hope for (especially considering how little time we had)! It was also perfect that she does flower arrangements. We received so many compliments about all of our flowers! We highly recommend Michelle to anyone and everyone. She's super quick at responding. She truly is a life-saver.

We worked with Michelle for our wedding and she was a pleasure to deal with in every situation. We used her full wedding services from start to finish. I would say where she shines is keeping a great attitude, staying very positive, being responsive, and day of event coverage and design. Her design for our wedding from decorations to flowers was more than I could have hoped for. The wedding day was beautiful!

You guys!!! Michelle with occasions by Emily is absolute awesome!!!! They are so amazing and did an incredible job with not only making my vision come true but finding ways to meet my budget!! I'm so so pleased with them! Because they also provide decor to go with your flower arrangements!!! They are so easy to work with and you will definitely get your money's worth!! I would highly recommend brides to use them!!!!! My flowers looked amazing! I hope they post on their website to show examples!!! They are wonderful!

We were extremely happy with Michelle at Occasions by Emily! With just a few emails and photos, a phone call and an in-person meeting, Michelle totally understood our vision for all the florals for our August wedding at The Farm. She immediately had helpful ideas and suggestions for the bouquets, gazebo, aisle and mantel decorations, and tablescapes - all of which were incredibly beautiful. She easily incorporated some of the decor items available from The Farm, and even managed to use the bridesmaid's bouquets and aisle decorations as part of the reception table decorations! Her staff set up the decorations quickly and beautifully, moved ceremony decorations to the reception, and then came back to quickly break down and remove the decorations afterward. And Michelle was friendly and just delightful to work with. We definitely have, and will, recommend Michelle and Occasions by Emily!

We used occasions by Emily for both our wedding coordination as well as for our florist needs. First, Michelle did such an amazing job with our flowers! They were absolutely stunning and beyond what I had envisioned. Michelle also helped us with our rental needs and while we had a minor hiccup with the rental company and a delivery time, Michelle made sure to help us get the rental items we needed on time for an earlier event. Finally, we also elected to use a couple of décor items that Occasions by Emily had and everything looked absolutely wonderful. Celeste was our wedding coordinator and I can't thank her enough for her help the month leading up to the wedding and then on the wedding weekend itself. She answered all my emails promptly and was able to provide direction and ideas when I needed them. She coordinated with our vendors so well so that on the day of I was able to relax and enjoy the getting ready process. So thank you, Celeste and Michelle! Our wedding was absolutely magical and y'all played such a large part in making it that way. We cannot thank you enough. We would 100% recommend using Occasions by Emily for both floral and coordinating needs.

This review is for Michelle, the incredible florist and design pro we were fortunate enough to have for our big day. From the first phone call to the big day, Michelle could not have been more kind, patient, understanding, and wonderful. As a couple on a budget, Michelle was willing to work within those boundaries and allowed us to set up a payment plan that worked for our needs. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and exactly as I had envisioned. We also rented several décor items- numerous chalkboard signs, reception table centerpiece decor, reception table numbers, wooden cupcake tiers, burlap aisle runner, etc. - and they were absolutely perfect as well. To all of the wonderful ladies at OBE that made our day absolutely beautiful, to Michelle for her patience and vision, thank you - my vision would not have come to life without you all!

Michelle at Occasions by Emily was amazing! Not only is she super talented and professional but she is so sweet to work with! The prices are also incredibly reasonable compared to others in the area. She made my vision come to life and I loved everything about the flowers and decor. I sent her photos of what I was hoping to see and it was absolutely perfect. Being an out-of-state bride is was really convenient to have a florist who had so much of the rustic decor I wanted that we could rent for the day. She definitely has an eye for design and knows what works best floral wise with your venue / theme - I would highly recommend!

I highly recommend booking Occasions by Emily for your wedding/event floral needs. Michelle was responsive and had no problem giving me multiple quotes due to my ever changing mind! I sent a photo from Pinterest for my bridal bouquet and she made my Pinterest dreams reality! She also did a great job with providing and installing the greenery for our ceremony arbor and wedding signs.

PLEASE use Occasions by Emily!! Michelle is the perfect balance of organized yet laid back. She was able to guide us through the process and take all of our ideas into account. The final product was so above and beyond what I had even imagined--I am so grateful! The flowers/arrangements were stunning and could not have been better. On top of that, people's consistent comment on Michelle was how friendly, warm and helpful she is. I would recommend Occasions by Emily any day!

I am so thankful for Occasions by Emily, and Annette and Michelle for pulling off the wedding of my dreams! They really understood my vision and brought it to life. They were able to answer all of my questions and were very easy to communicate with. I also used their connection for a month of wedding coordinator named Angela Stott, who was fantastic as well! I highly recommend having her to help! The team even went above and beyond to make sure I had every detail perfect, even when it was a challenge. They are some of the friendliest people in the wedding biz. Thank you ladies for making our wedding day perfect!

Michelle with Occasions by Emily was the #1 BEST choice after my groom of course for our wedding :) Our wedding was a destination and from the time we hired Occasions by Emily Michelle was easy to get in contact with and always excited to talk wedding decor with me (Through and after her pregnancy). We had Michelle as our Day of Coordinator as well as our florist. I showed Michelle pictures from pintrist and she blew them out of the water with our Ceremony site, bouquets, and reception! The arbor she created for us was out of this world. Our families can be a bit difficult and Michelle was able to politely put them in their place without them knowing it lol. After the ceremony any time I turned around Michelle was there with a glass of wine for me and a beer for my husband :) She always kept us as her #1 priority!!! I can honestly say I don't know what I would have done with out Michelle and Occasions by Emily. Highly recommend!!!

Occasions by Emily, Michelle, did the florals for our wedding from the boutonnieres to the bridal bouquets, our parents flowers to the table scapes for the reception and even the arbor for our ceremony and they could not have been more perfect!! We also hired Occasions by Emily for our Day of Coordinator and we worked with Annette Lotz and her assistant and there are no words to explain how well Annette made every image I dreamed of come true!! She was fun to work with and very organized and I thank the entire team for everything!!!

I cannot say enough positive things about Occasions by Emily. I worked with Michelle and at was one of the best decisions I made in wedding planning. Her proposal was not only the fastest and most affordable of all the florists I considered, but she did an amazing job completing my vision!!! Michelle was always pleasant and understanding - so easy to work with! Not only were the flowers perfect, but she went TOTALLY ABOVE AND BEYOND at my wedding. We were running behind and she wasn't busy, so she helped my mom finish decorating cupcakes. Now if that isn't customer service, I don't know what is! Do yourself a favor and BOOK THEM. :)

Occasions by Emily is by far the best decision I made during my entire wedding. I remember having a FaceTime conversation with Emily several months after I got engaged, and made the decision to hire a wedding coordinator (yes, the wonderful thing about this company is not only are they a florist but they also have staff that will coordinate your wedding...amazing!). Emily made me feel so at ease, and not to mention such a lovely person. She really seemed to care and want to give me everything I wanted in my wedding. After I met Michelle (my day of wedding coordinator), I knew that we were "meant to be"! She is sweet, loving, hard working, has excellent professionalism, communicates well, and most importantly, I TRUSTED her. She was there for me with whatever I needed. She assisted with coordinating the overall design of my wedding, including the florals. When I saw the florals the day of our wedding, I wanted to cry they were so beautiful! She completely understood my look and vision. It was such an easy process, and everything was perfect and beautiful. I was able to enjoy my wedding, and take advantage of every second because I knew she would take care of everything. Thank you so much, Michelle and Emily... such sweet and lovely women!!

Best use of my small budget!

I worked with Emily and found her to be very pleasant and polite. She was professional, but I found communication to be somewhat lacking. Overall, very sweet.

I can't imagine my wedding being as perfect as it was without Emily. She is very creative and has a wonderful personality that just puts you at ease during the stressful preparations of a wedding. Emily allowed me to participate in whatever manner provided me with the most comfort level without taking offense. As I'm a planner, the amount of detail that I provided her during the 9 months leading up to the wedding was enormous. She not only reviewed every last page, she appreciated the information as it helped her better plan and contribute with her expertise. Despite the fact that during the preparation time for my wedding she had a baby, I never felt a disruption in service for even a minute. She is incredibley dedicated and a true perfectionist. My wedding was a destination wedding and I never lived in the area where I got married. Addtionally, I had limited time in visiting the area to interview vendors. I had a discussion with Emily about the style of the wedding and what I was looking for from each of my vendors, and she shortlisted vendors for me to interview. I was able to take a long weekend and meeting with all the finalists and make my selections. I do not regret 1 selection that was made. Her knowledge of the area, which vendor's perform at the highest levels within their craft and which ones compliment the wedding style and personality is truly invaluable. Emily also competed to be my florist, which she won hands down. Not only was she competitive but her and her staff's creativity were breathtaking. The flower's were a beautiful complement to the wedding as were the tablescapes and all the other little touches. On the day of the wedding, I literally turned everything over to Emily and had NO CONCERN with the fact that it would be everything I planned for and imagined. It was BETTER than I had planned for or imagined. I'm sure there were issues that she had to address and resolve but I never knew anything other than that it was perfect. Emily was always close when you needed her, but you didn't know it until she was there. My family and friends adored her and she was as much a guest of the day as she was the coordinator. I think every bride in that area should work with Emily and I know they would not be disappointed with the outcome of their wedding. She made sure my only job that day was to be happy and get married!
