Occasions Catering

Occasions catering was perfect. So many of our guests told us they loved the food and we did as well. We know the food was delicious because Alexis, our point of contact, saved a small plate of everything they served and handed it directly to us to ensure that we ate on our wedding day. It was so thoughtful. They did so many other small things well, like passing out kids meals first, and making sure everyone had food quickly during our “family style” dinner so that everyone was eating at the same time. The bartenders were great, the waitstaff was lovely and they did a fantastic job making our wedding look beautiful and come together smoothly. I would recommend them to anyone! Alexis, thank you for everything!

The entire wedding experience with Occasions was AMAZING! From the very first tasting, (where we got to try our ENTIRE suggested menu and they made us a personalized beverage) to the to-go boxes they packed for the end of our night, the team was fantastic. The event looked beautiful, our taco bar was raved about for days after (especially our elote salad!) and Katie and Kristin helped us move seamlessly through our menu planning, even as our guest list grew by more than we were expecting. The options were endless and the Occasions team made everything unique and delicious! The bartenders and waitstaff they provided were amazing as well. The gentleman bartender that was making sure the bridal party always had a drink in hand was a huge hit!

Occasions catered my Oct '22 wedding reception and let's just say one of the most common things I heard from guests post-wedding was how great the food was. There were also guests who commented it was the best food they had at a wedding! Setting up a food tasting meeting with them was very easy and the tasting appt was very nice to attend. We worked with Katie Quinn who had great recommendations for the menu and helping us realize our vision. She was honest with us and gave us realistic expectations on how different foods/drinks perform at weddings. My favorite suggestions from the Occasions team were serving Lavender lemonade at the ceremony and serving steak, mashed potatoes, and spinach in a Catalina dish (unanimous favorite among my guests). They also do very lavish grazing tables (another guest favorite). On-site, the Occasions staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and got the job done splendidly. I would highly recommend them for your wedding or special event! The only small items to keep in mind when selecting Occasions is to make sure they are a pre-approved vendor at your location (they were not at our venue so we had to pay an additional fee, but they were still so worth it! I'd do it again!) and that they have a limited selection for décor so if you have a very specific décor theme, you may need to provide additional décor to them. Occasions leans more on rustic décor options. Bottom line, you will not go wrong selecting Occasions.

I am a wedding planner and I got to work a wedding with Occasions in September. They were great to work with and their presentation was beautiful. Quality of food was high and I would definitely recommend them!

The team at Occasions were great to work with for our wedding. They curated a menu for our big day that matched exactly what we wanted. We were able to do our tasting, where we not only tasted our menu items, but also saw what the place settings would look like and the options that there were. It was a great experience. On the day of, the catering team was timely and professional. The food turned out incredible and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Our guests even commented on how good the food was. It was delicious and presented so well. Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable and tasty catering company, look no further!

Occasions did such a great job for our wedding! They had the most beautiful displays for our cocktail hour and our family style dinner was absolutely delicious. They were also so helpful in getting our dessert served and displayed despite us using an outside vendor (I'm from Vermont - we had to have cider donuts!). Everyone was so helpful along the way helping us craft our menu and giving suggestions specific to our particular style and (something I really didn't think of) venue. Would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Holly worked directly with our venue, rental company, and planners to ensure our day was perfect and the food was INCREDIBLE!! From initial interactions, Occasions Catering was very responsive and easy to work with. It was rare to find the right combination of price and quality amongst the various catering companies in Denver, but Occasions hit the mark. They were able to build a menu around our culinary desires that was equal parts delicious, as well as gourmet. We opted to have Occasions provide wait staff and bartending services for our wedding reception and I can safely say that all our guests were well fed and had plenty of delicious cocktails. Occasions was very up-front and honest with prices and fulfilled every one of our contract’s stipulations. Katie was a pleasure to work with and was there with us every step of the way, which was very important with all the moving parts we were juggling while planning from afar. I would recommend Occasions as a caterer to anyone wishing to impress, enjoy, and indulge at their wedding reception. Five stars!

We could not be happier with our decision to book Occasions! We attended several tastings with different caterers and Occasions was by far the best in Denver. We worked with Holly who was great. She listened to what we envisioned, offered recommendations, and was on top of all deadlines. The catering team was fantastic and attentive to everyone. So many of our guests commented on how wonderful the food was and even went back for more! Guests raved about the flank steak, and they loved the grilled cheese and tomato soup appetizers so much. Also, the petite churros were a big hit! Their team was fantastic through the whole process and we could not be happier with our decision to book them. Thank you for making our day so wonderful!

Occasions catered our daughter's wedding at Windy Point Campground on Lake Dillon. We wanted a meal that took into consideration allergies/gluten-free/dairy-free/vegetarian/etc. Katie Quinn worked with them to develop a meal that covered all the bases. They were even able to provide compostable tableware for the environmentalists! Everything was perfect. The food was absolutely fabulous! The staff was amazing and were quick to solve our problem when the decorations blew off the tables before the ceremony. We could not be more pleased with the service we received from Occasions!!! Highly recommend!!

Most weddings we go to, the food is just something to get through. The food from Occasions, however, was not just “good food for a wedding,” but great food for anywhere. We had guests rave about the chili-rubbed flank steak, and the wild mushroom lasagna was a delicious and filling entree for the vegetarians in the house. Jay, the event captain, and his staff were attentive and friendly—they made sure everyone, but especially the bride and groom, had everything they needed. We really enjoyed working with them and would highly recommend.

We had so much fun working with Lynn for our wedding! We heard from so many guests that our cocktail hour and dinner had great food. Planning was super easy - and we even made a menu change 3 weeks before the event with no problem! The dinner ran ahead of schedule, which worked out great. Lynn worked with our rentals contact to confirm that we had all necessary linens and napkins, and arranged a buffet for our vendors. And she put together a floor plan that really worked with our space. Definitely recommend working with Occasions!

We absolutely loved working with Occasions Catering! With COVID we had to push our original date and Occasions made it much less stressful to have to replan everything. They were so accommodating to different dietary restrictions for our guests, worked very efficiently day of, and the staff was so incredibly kind. The food was amazing, we still have people, now months later, that reference how great our wedding food was and how its the best they've ever had at a wedding! Couldn't recommend Occasions more!

This review is based on our experience leading up to the wedding day. Unfortunately our experience with Occasions was less than ideal, however, the food and day-of service was exceptional!! We had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID, like many couples, and Occasions was the only vendor we had reserved who up-charged us due to this change. We were told it was because the food prices in 2021 would be more than the prices for 2020, and they had to charge us more. They also charged us for a "COVID package" that didn't happen. They told us that there would be plexiglass and servers behind our ice cream bar, and it ended up being self-serve. We were not made aware of this until we noticed it on our wedding day. Leading up to the wedding day we were told that we were the "difficult client", we had questions about a lot of moving parts, including linen rentals, etc. and we were planning "very early". We had to follow up with Occasions numerous times, and remind them of our conversations. We were very disappointed in the lack of service leading up to the wedding day, and we would not recommend Occasions.

We used Occasions for our wedding reception this past weekend, we are still hearing from guests about how much they loved the food. Occasions was extremely helpful in picking a menu that fit my needs as a celiac.

We loved having Occasions with us on our wedding day. They were on the preferred vendors list at our wedding venue and we now know why. They knew the venue so well and that made the last month and day of run way smoother than I could have ever imagined. Katie was a wonderful contact throughout the planning process and our guests loved the food.

I was so impressed with Occasions from the very beginning, our tasting with Katie was incredible, I love that you get to taste the food that you've selected for your menu! Everyone was so great to work with, helpful and communicative. I was so impressed with their attention to detail and everything was thorough and thoughtful night of! I'd recommend Occasions to anyone for your catering!

Our experience with Occasions could not have been better. We worked with Victoria Spizzirri, Elri Nieuwenhuizen, and Katie Quinn, and all three were so helpful and wonderful (especially during COVID-19). They provided dinner and dessert at our wedding; it was so delicious and beautifully served. Our guests were raving! I highly recommend using Occasions to cater all the important events in your life. :)

Occasions did a fantastic job catering our wedding. They had an extensive menu (all of it was delicious) and worked with us every step of the way. When it came to wedding day, the food went off without a hitch. We're still receiving compliments to this day - the food was an absolute hit. They worked with us to ensure all dietary and allergy restrictions were met and even cooked the mother of the bride's steak to well-done on a last minute request. I would highly recommend Occasions!

You can absolutely not do better than Occasions Catering for your wedding. In our initial consultation we mentioned loving high-end, gourmet food a-la Top Chef while still wanting accessible mid-western style comfort food that all the guests can enjoy. When we went for the tasting, they absolutely nailed it. The menu they selected was not only delicious and exactly the type of food we were thinking, but it was so great that we didn't have any changes or critiques at all. We had some heavy appetizers (passed and stations), duet of proteins with tenderloin and fish and then an assortment of truffles and macarons for dessert. When it came time for the wedding day, the food was even better than during the tasting. Everyone mentioned how fantastic the food was, and we had a girl that hardly eats anything clean her plate. People were asking where they could get the truffles afterwards, and the food was one of the most talked about items of the reception. In addition to the high quality of the food itself, working with Occasions was easy. Our coordinator, Lynn, was very responsive and professional throughout the whole process. She helped coordinate with the linen rentals, and with our shrinking guest list she constantly let us make changes from going to plated meals rather than buffet and shrinking the guest list significantly. It's no wonder that most venues we looked at lists Occassions as a preferred caterer. Anyone booking them is in good hands.

Occasions did a fantastic job catering both our wedding and our rehearsal dinner. The staff is beyond professional, super friendly and accommodating, and creative with their menu and planning. Our guests raved about the food and the service. The food came out hot and tasted fresh, not like it had been plated and sat there for twenty minutes. We loved working with Holly and she was super responsive and helpful. Would definitely use Occasions again!

Occasions couldn't have been a more perfect caterer for our wedding. Katie was our contact throughout the planning process, which was quite a roller coaster during COVID-19. Katie and the team at Occasions were there for us every step of the way, which can not be said for some of our other originally-planned vendors. They were flexible & willing to work with us when we had to change our venue, alter our timeline, and reduce our guest count. They sent a service staff of all team leaders for our wedding reception, which made for amazing, above-and-beyond service. And the FOOD! The passed hors d'oeuvres, salads, and entree selections were all so delicious and memorable. Chef D and her team prepared us a truly excellent wedding day meal. Occasions was everything we could have asked for and more. We can't thank them enough for providing us the meal of our dreams on our special day.

They did a fantastic job! Lynn, who I coordinated with regarding all things catering, went above and beyond to incorporate mine and my husband’s southern roots and traditions. Personally, I do not like salads, but I know most people do, so I sent Lynn a very specific recipe for a baked brussel sprout leaves salad which the chefs nailed! I’m so thankful I took her advice and added some passed hors d'oeuvres for all our guests last minute. I can’t say enough great things about the team at Occasions Catering! They are full of creative suggestions too if needed. The only thing I would have done differently is ordered our wedding cake from a company who specializes solely on cakes, everything else was absolutely perfect and delicious!

We used Occasions for our Wedding and they were great every step of the way. From tasting and planning all the way to the event. The food was delicious and all of our guests made a point of letting us know how good the food was. We had a few vegetarian guests and Occasions was able to accommodate them easily as well and they too raved about how good their meals were. The only thing I would knock them on is that they were slow in bringing out the kids meals. Most of the kids ended up eating adult plates because it took so long to get to them. All in all it was a very good experience with Occasions and I would highly recommend them.

Occasions was awesome! They listened to my budget and hopes for the event to work with me to design a great menu that was also within my price range. The food was fresh, great, and full of flavor. My guests have been raving about it to me! Their service staff was so friendly and helpful and the displays they set up were gorgeous. They were very on top of everything during the planning phase and responded to all my questions promptly. I was so glad I used Occasions!

Best food we have ever had at a wedding! We got so many compliments from our guests and vendors about the food we served. We worked with Victoria and Becky and both were fantastic. Victoria organized our tasting and talked us through the process, explained the food and answered all of our questions. Becky was our day of coordinator and made sure every specialty meal, highchair and other requests got to the right spot. She even had the left overs boxed up for us to take home. The Occasions team was very responsive, organized and great to work with, plus the food they served was AMAZING!

Let's start with the good - everyone loved the food.  Unfortunately, there were a series of issues including the caterers being an hour late to the venue, they called the bride rather than the coordinator, they ran out of some food items and we (the bride and groom) didn't get any of the wedding cake, and the leftovers were thrown out. When we brought these issues to their attention afterwards, we received a litany of excuses and they blamed everyone from the event captain to the coordinator and other vendors. Despite the rave reviews we got for the food, I cannot recommend this company to other brides.

We worked with Occasions for our wedding and had a great experience. Though the bride and groom notoriously don't get to eat much of their own food at the wedding, we received a ton of positive feedback from guests. The pre-event experience was exceptional. Occasions hosted a formal tasting, and both the food and display were wonderful. They had a lot of options for us to choose from, from food to decor, and so we were able to perfectly match the food to our wedding venue and vision. During the event they were punctual and professional. I also appreciated the sustainable efforts the company makes, from minimizing food waste to donating any extra meals. The cost of the package was perfect, and the quality we received was well above other caterers I was considering.

Occasions was fantastic! Katie and the team were so professional, personal, and accommodating. They provided a buffet style setup for our wedding, and guests were raving about the food afterward. Everything was cooked perfectly, and we had plenty of food to go around! They also provided desserts for our wedding- unfortunately we didn't get to eat any because our guests at them all! Additionally, their service was incredible. Everything ran like a well oiled machine the day of, and I am so thankful it did!

We had a hard time finding a caterer, largely due to the fact that we didn’t have a lot of time for tastings. The food at our tasting was good, in combination with a beautiful delivery. The food and service on our wedding day wound up exceeding our expectations. Becky was stuck on I-70 behind mudslides and was unable to attend the wedding (leave it to Colorado). Andrew took lead of the evening and did a fantastic job! He was incredibly attentive and checked in personally with my husband and I several times. The food was delicious and we received so many compliments from our guests! We have no regrets in our choice and would absolutely recommend them.

Simply put, Occasions Catering completely blew all our guests away for our Wedding. We knew how fantastic they were to work with, but to hear our guests rave about our cocktail hour and dinner food selections, made our heart sing! Victoria from the beginning was super responsive and flexible. Due to us being from out of town, she allowed our whole family to taste and allowed my husband and I to do a second tasting to ensure we were happy with our wedding menu selections. They are the perfect vendor for any theme, and they knocked our theme, Colorado Elegant out of the park. Make sure to get the elk sausage carving station and bacon wrapped dates for your cocktail hour, they were the biggest hits! Also, our guests and us could not have been any more impressed with their staff and operations. Everything was served on time and with the utmost professional manner. If you want a caterer who delivers, Occasions is that vendor for you!

Great food and a great value! Everyone at the wedding loved the food and the grilled peach salad was honestly the best salad I've ever had. We also got our cutting cake through them and it was delicious. The staff was great while planning and during the event. I definitely recommend using Occasions!

Occasions did the catering for our July wedding, and I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a wedding caterer! We wanted our wedding to feel like more of a laid-back, outdoor affair so we went with the BBQ buffet, and LOVED it – especially the mac n cheese :) Katie and Letty were super responsive during the planning process, and they were SO accommodating with all of the strict dietary restrictions and allergies that we had in our group. My husband and I had Occasions cater our wedding earlier this summer. We simply cannot recommend them highly enough! I had a vision of a fully vegetarian wedding that was primarily composed of Italian cuisine. I wanted it to feel fresh and filling and leave no on complaining about the fact that there was no meat. In addition, I wanted it to be somewhat accessible to vegan and gluten-free guests. Every other caterer we tasted with produced a boring and predictable combination of carbs and grease and cheese, and it all felt heavy but not satisfying. Occasions BLEW US AWAY. Our menu was everything I wanted and more, and we got so, so, so many compliments on the food on the day of! It was original, fresh, healthy, tasty, hearty… everything. Over 20 people told me how delicious it was and not a single one complained about the lack of meat. My hubby and I ate leftovers throughout the entire next day because we couldn’t get enough. If you are looking for a Denver caterer for your big event, I highly recommend talking to Occasions—you won’t regret it!

They were fantastic. The food was delicious and from the first moment we met them and all the way through our reception they exceeded expectations. They were the perfect amount of helpful in planning and the staff day of was courteous and attentive.

Becky, Victoria and the entire Occasions team went above and beyond to make our wedding truly spectacular! The food was amazing and we received a lot of compliments from our guests on their food and service. They were great to work with throughout the entire process and would answer any questions I had so that I had no worries or concerns going into my wedding day. They were strong communicators and really made sure our needs and requests were met. I would 100% recommend to anyone!

I have never had such great wedding good and my guests said the same! Short ribs at a wedding! Katie, our coordinator, was in every sense of the word, EPIC. She took such amazing care of us, not just with the food and service but also with our sanity and making sure we ate as well. She helped recommend vendors, educate me on all the things I didn’t even know I was forgetting and also was a friendly ear the whole process. Between the food and the service you could not have a better combination and value.

We give Occasions Catering five stars because they really came through with our decor and food. First of all, in both the Bride and Groom's family there were individuals who had dietary restrictions; vegetarian/vegan, sodium restrictions as well as nut allergies. From our first meeting with this company they gave us time and the respect to hear what allergies/restrictions each party had. It was important to us to not only have delicious food but also for a company to listen to our concerns for our guests. They were equally as concerned! As far as decor goes, our event planners, Katie and Becky, were very accommodating helping bring our ideas to life. They knew we wanted our venue's beauty to speak for itself and not have the decor compete. They did a great job helping us meet that goal! Overall, we'd recommend Occasions for your wedding catering needs!

Katie and Occasions were amazing! We did not select them for our event but in the initial process, Katie was extremely responsive and helpful. The tasting was amazing. I have never been so full. Guests continue to tell us that our food was phenomenal, and our wedding was four months ago. Occasions was an excellent partner for our catering needs and the quality was well worth the price tag. What I loved most about Occasions is that they worked with us to design a wedding menu that we envisioned to complement with our big day. In fact, we did an autumnal barbeque spread of sorts! From our appetizers to dinner, every dish was absolute perfection and paired so well. The team at Occasions was incredible responsive, collaborative and professional as well, which provided us with peace of mind. All in all, when you can make 130 guests from San Diego & Chicago (many of which are foodies!), happy, you are definitely doing something right! Wish I could relive our dinner all over again. Cannot recommend Occasions enough!

We used Occassions for our wedding at Chatfield Farms and they were the best. We had a big ask to crunch the setup time before cocktail hour and they took it in stride and did such an incredible job. The food was out of this world and we still have guests raving nearly 3 months later. Victoria was so easy to work with and was such a resource to us. We can’t say enough good things about these guys and definitely recommend checking them out!

From the moment we first chatted with Victoria about our wedding menu, we felt confident our food was going to be fantastic. Our tasting was spectacular with amazing details well planned out to showcase their talents. Charles & I had EVERY intention of enjoying our full meal with our guests, and Victoria made sure that our plates were full with each of our choices from the menu. And it was absolutely delicious. And the dessert bar they made us was incredible and beautiful! We were so lucky to have worked with Victoria and everyone at Occasions. Thank you so much!

If I could I would give them 0 stars. I was incredibly disappointed in this catering company. They were one of the preferred vendors for the venue I chose and came highly recommended, but when it came to my actual wedding day they missed the mark completely. They didn’t bring the actual alcohol that I ordered, instead they brought the cheap stuff. I expected a nice French rosé and Moët and Chandon for my guests and myself to enjoy and instead they brought a no name Oregon rose and just California sparkling wine. The photographer had no idea the bottles were not what I wanted so now I have photos to remind me forever of the cheap wine I didn’t want on my once in lifetime fairytale day. They failed to set up the chairs for the ceremony with the right amount for our guests which lead to some of my guests having to stand while we were officiated, and what really pissed me off was the fact that Victoria the coordinator I had from occasions catering, set my head table for 12 when we had 18 sitting there. It was so awkward and embarrassing when we made our debut as husband and wife for the first time and ourselves and the entire bridal party had to stand while my dad gave his toast because we had to wait for the caterers to bring us more chairs and place settings. I was mortified. They really missed the mark and proved how unprofessional and unprepared they were for a 60 person wedding. I would never recommend them again. To top it all off the owner of this catering company called my mom a week later asking why she was so disappointed and when she told him the truth he raised his voice at her because he didn’t like the tone she took with him.

How do I even begin to thank everyone at Occasions for their incredibly hard work on our big day? From the first meeting with Katie, our designer, we knew we would be well taken care of from beginning to end. The suggestions we made during our tasting were noted and replicated at the wedding PERFECTLY. Our staff made sure we received hot hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, and fresh food during dinner was brought to our table so we were actually able to eat and people watch! Our crescent moon centerpiece, made by Kevin Birka, was absolute perfection, I can't believe how seamlessly he captured my vision! Occasions exceeded every expectation we had. We were treated like their only client, knowing exactly how busy they really are! Katie's proficient notes, quick response time, and confidence in my requests and changes reassured me through the entire planning process. Thank you all for making this day a dream!

We used Occasions to cater our wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch and everything was AMAZING! Request Katie Q for your event designer because she is absolutely the BEST! She was so attentive from our initial tasting to the day of our event. She responded quickly, listened and helped us customize our menu the way we wanted and everything turned out great for the wedding. She helped plan out our room layout and organize rentals. The food was delicious and they offered a wide variety of options to choose from. The service staff were very professional and attentive.
