Five stars, 100%, A+, a true GEM!! From the very beginning of the process until the weeks following our wedding, Alisha was the perfect guide. We live in Southern California, so the thought of planning a wedding up in Sonoma was a bit daunting at first - I had no idea who the best vendors were, what venues I had to choose from, or (most importantly) how much I should expect to spend. Alisha had all the answers. After communicating a unique vision for our dream venue, Alisha went to work and somehow discovered the perfect spot within days. She then connected us with the best vendors in the area, but also carefully considered who would be the best fit for our personality and theme (not to mention every vendor RAVES about her - another testament to how respected she is by others). It wasn't a canned/corporate interaction, but instead a personalized and thoughtful relationship. It's obvious that Alisha genuinely cares about each couple and/or client she works with.
Leading up to the wedding Alisha was responsive, organized, and enthusiastic, and made the planning process a dream. But where Alisha really went above and beyond was the week before and the day of our wedding. We chose to spend the few days before the wedding in Sonoma with our friends and family, and there's no way it would have been so enjoyable and relaxing if Alisha wasn't as organized and composed as she is. She handled everything with ease and never got us involved in the behind-the-scenes snafus. Alisha made our enjoyment of the wedding week her #1 priority - and isn't that really the point of an event planner? I have no doubt that she worked over time to ensure that we didn't experience a moment of stress. Everything went off without a hitch (at least from our perspective), and we had an incredible weekend with our friends and family.
I've heard many horror stories from my friends about how they were frustrated with their wedding planners/coordinators. I, on the other hand, now consider Alisha a friend and will actually miss going through the planning process with her. I can't recommend O'ccassions Weddings & Events enough - they are professional, organized, gracious, and exceptionally talented. I hope there's another Northern California event in my future so I can have an excuse to work with Alisha and her team again.
I wasn't the bride who dreamed of my wedding day since I was a young girl, with the exact flowers, dress, and first dance song already picked out in my head. I like planning small events and hosting friends and family, but knew I needed help with our wedding as this was something I'd never tackled before. Going in to our first meetings I had some general ideas of style and esthetics, but Alisha helped me reign in my many Pinterest boards, and together we eventually narrowed it down to my ultimate wedding day dream vision.
Initially starting the planning process can feel a bit overwhelming at times, but Alisha was extremely organized and divided up my to-do's in a very manageable way. In those moments when I did feel behind, she was always right there, ensuring me we were right on track (or nudging me to finish something I'd been putting off).
It's certainly difficult to decide what your top priorities are, and what you should budget for each vendor. Every couple is different, but I certainly found it hard to 'cut back' and stick to my budget, since this is a once in a lifetime event. Alisha was very helpful in managing my budget, reminding me with what's important, and doing her best to keep me on-track and focused with the top priorities. With so many moving pieces and vendors to juggle, it was invaluable having someone I could wholeheartedly trust to have my best interests in mind.
Our wedding day ended up being more wonderful than I could have ever imagined. Each detail was spectacular, and our day-of coordinator was incredible; another testament to Alisha's skill as a business owner.
With planning and executing any large event there are bound to be some bumps in the road. The entire planning process was incredibly smooth (and fun!), and Alisha handled the few small hiccups caused by outside vendors with incredible haste, efficiency, and professionalism.
I'm truly going to miss working with Alisha and our meetings together, and will absolutely utilize O'ccasions Weddings & Events for any other big parties we have in the future. Absolute gold, five star service, and what a joy to get to work with someone who is so nice, generous, and fun to be around too!
Alisha herself (the owner of O'ccasions) is an excellent planner. She is extremely organized, has great recommendations for vendors, is very personable and is great about keeping in contact. If she had been the one to coordinate my wedding the day of instead of her staff, I would likely be leaving a 5/5 review, but unfortunately she had another wedding the same day as mine so one of her employees coordinated my wedding instead.
The planning itself went very smoothly. Alisha and I had everything nailed down to a T and knew exactly what was happening and when, where everything went, etc. I felt extremely taken care of. However, the planning itself didn't completely shine through the day of the wedding, as the coordinator Alisha assigned was just not prepared. She held an extremely lacking rehearsal (only had us line up and walk, didn't go over seating of any kind, and didn't even touch on the reception), and numerous things went wrong the day of that simply shouldn't have. Alisha later agreed that those things never should have happened, and although she was kind enough to send a partial reimbursement, I'd rather have paid the full fee and have had my wedding go as planned (although, of course, no wedding is perfect).
Ultimately, if Alisha is 100% the one who will be coordinating your wedding the day of, I would absolutely recommend her - or even if her staff is kept in the loop for all the calls/emails so that they are just as informed. Just make sure to ask beforehand and check your contract with her! It was a pleasure to work with her over the year of our engagement and I'm grateful for all her help in planning.
Occasions did such an amazing job for our wedding. They took all the stress away from our big day. Not only were they on top of everything, but the suggestions and designs they proposed were beautiful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!
Let's be honest, planning a wedding is extremely stressful and takes a lot of hard work. And with a completely DIY wedding there are a lot of details and moving parts that you don't think of, and we are so happy we had the help from O'ccasions. They went absolutely above and beyond to make sure our wedding was the happiest day of our lives. We were so impressed with how natural everything felt and couldn't have asked for a better team to help us through it all! Thank you so much!
Choosing O'ccasions as our wedding planners was the best decision my husband and I made for our big day. Planning a wedding from afar and having their knowledgable team provide us with everything we needed gave us peace of mind throughout the entire planning process. They had endless ideas, provided vendors who suited our needs and matched our style, an incredibly thorough timeline, considered EVERY aspect of the wedding and made sure our wedding was all we had imagined it to be.
There was a great connection and line of communication with O'ccasions at all times which was important as we worked together for several months leading up and as they were by our side the day of our wedding.

I planned my son and future daughter-n-law’s rehearsal dinner from afar. So, it was very important my event planner have great taste, pay attention to detail and most importantly be somebody that I could rely on and trust. I also wanted someone who would keep my vision in mind throughout the whole process. Choosing O’ccasions Weddings and Events was a great decision. Our rehearsal dinner was down right magical. Alisha and Megan are greatly respected in the Napa Valley and has access to amazing resources of all price points.
They helped me make quick decisions and in the end everything was perfect. We wanted a casual, laid back and joyful evening full of great energy and that is exactly what we got.
Luckily Events by O’Ccasions has access to some unique venues, so they were able to secure a newly renovated barn in the middle of a beautiful vineyard. We had a back up plan for rain, but the weather was perfect so all 180 guests dined alfresco amongst the twinkle lights while enjoying the 360° sunset view. We were all welcomed by a local guitarist who sang beautifully while guests visited and played bocce ball. Alisha found out that my son enjoys hand crafted cocktails, so she hired a unique airstream bar that our guests are still talking about. The caterer was amazing and supplied fresh pulled mozzarella and a pizza oven for appetizers and for dinner we enjoyed risotto, salad, grill and dessert stations. Keeping with the style of the Napa Valley, the food was farm to table fresh and delicious
