I have mixed feelings about this company. We fully paid for Officially Wed in May 2023 a sum of $600 which included travel from Springfield MO to Miami OK. We were having a hard ti...me finding someone closer in MO who could also legally wed us in OK since we fell in love with the venue we chose but Officially Wed said they could! We had a video consultation with Dan where we discussed what service we wanted and that they offered pre marital counseling which we declined. Things were good until our first venue sold and we had to find another one 4 months before our wedding. We ended up finding one closer so we got a refund of $30 for the milage which put our total to $570 for this service. We chose to get the custom wedding package so we could have our own vows, a unity sand ceremony added, and we didn't want a religious ceremony. We also asked about having our rehearsal the day before our wedding at 1pm and Dan said "I don't see any reason why that would not work, we'll be there at 1pm on the 14th!". Great! We thought everything was set. A few weeks before our wedding we also received a few emails that has some questionnaires for us to fill out that asked about how we met, how we wanted our ceremony to go, ect which we filled out quickly. Next, we had assumed Dan was going to be our officiant (we should not have assumed and that is on us) but a few days before we went to get our marriage license, we were told otherwise. I wish they would have told us before we had to ask? My husband and I have never been married before (which they knew this) so I guess not having to find out last minute would have sat better. I was told the lady who was going to be our officiant would reach out soon. 8 days went by with no communication so I reached back out to Dan and never got a reply so I took initiative and sent a text to our officiant. She was nice and apologetic about the delay in getting back to us. I understand this is a side gig most officiants do so I was not incredibly upset by any means. I was a nervous bride and wanted to make sure all of our ducks were in a row. We ended up setting a time for us to video chat about our ceremony with our officiant. The meeting went fine and we went over a few things from the questionnaires but she could not see all of them so we went over things she needed to know. We also discussed the rehearsal and found out that she could not come, Dan was busy and no one else could come. This kind of left a sour taste in our mouths since we had no idea how to do a rehearsal, so we had to wing it the day of and just had to be happy with it. It ended up working the day of our wedding but it still kind of sucked since we really wanted guidance. Anyway, our officiant sent me a message the day before asking for the lineup and mentioned our grandparents. My husband and I had discussed that all of our grandparents besides my maternal grandmother have passed, and it was asked again which made us feel unheard since we had filled that out in our questionnaire and discussed it in the video chat. Last message we both got was the day of asking for 2 things we loved about each person and one thing that annoys us. We go that squared away but I feel that should have been asked before the day of the wedding since I barely looked at my phone the day of. The ceremony went fine and our officiant did a good job, but two things that kind of bothered me was that our ceremony was read from a white 3 ring binder which I felt was big and possibly a distraction, and our ceremony didn't feel tailored to us and just felt generic. It just felt a little slapped together I guess? I don't know how else to explain it. I attached photos to show our conversations and the emails showing that this story does have concrete evidence to it, but I just wanted someone to see our story before they make a full decision on using this company or not. Oh also, the phone number on the website does not work and no one answers the chat option. It wasn't horrible, but not worth the $570 we paid unfortunately.
