History
Ogontz White Mountain Camp started back in 1850 when Chestnut Street Female Seminary opened their doors in Philadelphia. Enrollment boomed and the school needed a new home with more space. Jay Cooke of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania rented his land to the school and renamed his mansion after a dear friend, Chief Ogontz, a Sandusky Indian. Chestnut Street Female Seminary became known as Ogontz School for Girls. In 1912, principal Abby Sutherland opened a summer camp in northern New Hampshire as a summer extension of the program in Pennsylvania. The two projects eventually separated and Ogontz Camp began to function as an independent camp in 1923. Today most of the existing cabins and structures are still in use blending the rich history of Ogontz creating an unforgettable experience.

We got married at Ogontz this past September and it was 10/10 incredible. The food, the staff and camp grounds. Everything was as good as we could have hoped. We are biased but we truly believe it was the most fun wedding ever. The standard ceremony and reception were great, but the reason we loved it was all of the in between moments hanging out with our families and friends at the beautiful camp in the mountains.

We could not have had a better experience with the Ogontz team. Dave and his team have this whole wedding experience totally dialed in. They continuously exceeded our expectations and consistently exhibited high levels of professionalism while also maintaining a friendly and stress-free communication. It was truly the wedding summer camp weekend of our dreams and we feel part of the Ogontz family. Our guests had an absolute blast and so did we. We can't recommend them highly enough!!!

From the first time we met with the team at Ogontz Rustic Resort, we were impressed by their timely, genuine, and knowledgeable communication. They took amazing care of us and all our guests, from the 3-month-old babies to my 91-year-old Grandpa, ensuring our wedding day was truly incredible and a family affair. It was incredibly important to us to have all of family and friends in one spot for the weekend. We had guests from all around the globe, and everyone agreed there was no where like it.
I highly recommend the firework send off at the end of the reception. It’s a wonderful show.
The Ogontz team went above and beyond. We are so grateful. Not only is the venue and the grounds amazingly stunning. The food was on point. Every meal was taken care of and no one complained. (When does that happen??)
It's been over a month, and our guests are still raving that it was the best wedding they've ever attended. Ogontz Rustic Resort provided us with the best weekend of our lives, and I highly recommend them to any couple looking for a beautiful, welcoming venue that will make their special day unforgettable.
I can not wait to go back and visit our Ogontz family.

Words cannot describe the amazing wedding weekend we had at Ogontz in Lyman NH. Dave and his team promised us a weekend with no stress, and a "yes" not matter what (as long as it didn't effect life, limb or eyesight - or the reputation of the venue) and was he right! We said yes to this venue because it "was us" - redneck chic, an epic onsite wedding weekend, all our people together in on place with a rustic feel and a required Sunday Funday - but we left with SO much more. We added to our family, felt like home, and truly believe those at Ogontz create all that and more for us!
The food was amazing! And the staff were able to caterer to all our needs (allergies, gluten free, etc). We ate, and ate, and ate some more. Our daughter has celiac, and the kitchen made sure she had her own special meals and plates at every turn. She felt so special, and safe, it made the weekend so much better.
Although a cool fall weekend, the staff ensured all fires were lit and running in each cottage, our guests didn't have to worry. And when the fires went out, Matt went around and ensured the cottages were warming up.
All of the details were handled. Stacy - a true godsend - set up the entire Grand Hall. After a few of my thoughts and vision, she took it and ran with it. I didn't have to worry once.
We left Ogontz feeling like we were saying goodbye to family, we cannot wait to return!! Our friends and family are asking with the next party (reunion, anniversary, sunday funday) will be. We all want to go back and suggest anyone get married here.
Suggestion - take the extra day, enjoy, relax, breathe, and let Dave and his team handle the details while you bask in the love surrounding you.

I got married this year at another venue so I will preface this review with the fact that I have not been to the property. I am sure it is beautiful.
I am deleting old emails and felt compelled to share this email I received when I submitted an inquiry and asked if there was any opportunity to tour on a weekend:
"No. We have a wedding booked every weekend and we offer an exclusive package. No one other than wedding guests are allowed ons the property and I won't have time for you. If you would like a tour, you'll have to find time midweek.
Let me know and I will set up a time. Cheers"
If this is the service that prospective brides get from a $30,000 venue, I can't imagine it gets much better once they have your money. Feeling like I dodged a bullet here for sure. Cheers!

Stunning venue with beautiful, comfortable cabins for a weekend wedding. The photos of the facilities and cabin interiors do not adequately portray how nice they are. We put our older guests in the Equestrian cabins which might as well have been fancy AirBnBs. The staff were incredibly nice and worked to make every vision for our wedding a reality. From catering adjustments to fireworks on-site, they were great collaborators to make the event perfect. It can get cold at night and some of our guests did not realize that extra blankets are available. Wifi was available in a few locations. Would recommend bringing walkie talkies for the wedding party to communicate.

My husband and I got married here July 31st, 2022! It was a dream come true. We wanted an all inclusive summer camp weekend with our family and friends and it surpassed all expectations. Ryan was amazing to book with, Jocelyn was extremely organized and led the culinary team to knock it out of the park and Dave was our knight in shining armor attending to our every need for the weekend.
After guests arrived and checked into their cabins, we had an amazing pig roast for the welcome dinner on Saturday night followed by a bonfire with smores. On Sunday, everyone enjoyed the property with swimming, hiking, kayaking, etc before our wedding ceremony at 3:30pm. I have received so many compliments and "BEST WEDDING EVER" from so many guests - I'm so proud! The food, venue, staff and service was unbelievable and they really gave me the opportunity to enjoy the weekend worry-free!
There were so many moving parts and everything went perfectly according to plan - I wouldn't change anything about our amazing camp wedding weekend!!

I wish I could go back and re-live this day again and again! I can’t imagine our wedding day anywhere else. The entire staff at Ogontz were amazing! They were accommodating and so helpful to our guests. I highly suggest opting into the decor package if you can! Sarah and team captured the look and feel we had and mind and more!
Now for the food! The guests couldn’t stop raving about every meal from the yummy brunch to the delicious prime rib and burger bar. The food absolutely blew us away. We still have guests talking about it every time we see them.
The beauty of the venue was an absolute no brainer but we truly can’t say enough about the Ogontz team! We wouldn’t have had it any other way. We can’t wait to go back for a weekend!

When we started planning our wedding, we wanted to bring together 300 family and friends in a nature-filled, relaxed, and personal environment for a whole weekend. We thought we'd never find a venue and then a friend recommended Ogontz. It was perfect! We described our ambitious wedding vision to Sarah and Andrew in our first meeting, and they delivered on every detail. Ogontz took care of all catering except alcohol, decorating/flowers, and prepping venues throughout the weekend. We took care of DJ, bartending, and a lifeguard though we had no problem because Sarah connected us to local vendors. We did not want to get bogged down in details (like choosing place settings or flowers) and Sarah and Andrew were able to take a little inspiration and work their magic for us; the colors and theme were based on the picture of the bride’s wedding dress (colorful Indian garb). Our wedding was the biggest they had hosted and they did a great job transforming the dining area to comfortably seat that crowd and ensuring people weren't getting hungry waiting to get food. They even thought of little details we forgot, like having high chairs for babies. If we ever needed anything (such as when our family member got his car stuck in a nearby ditch), we just had to ask and someone took care of it right away.
We told Andrew that we wanted Indian food, and not only did he research all our family recipes, he also spent an entire day with our families learning how to make those dishes. Andrew’s food and Sarah’s baking were a hit with everyone at the wedding. We still dream about the lemon tart, roast pig, chicken sandwiches, fresh bread, and homemade chutneys. Many of the vegetables and some meats were homegrown at Ogontz. The scenery at Ogontz is breathtaking with the mountains in the background, the lake, and the quaint cabins. Everyone enjoyed the lake (boating and swimming), the grounds (sports fields, hiking, waterfalls, and even a wood-fired hot tub), and the many different buildings for late night board games, family time, and just hanging out. We had full use of the grounds and there was no restriction on time; we even canoed to a nearby island at midnight.
We had bonfires on Saturday and Sunday night and Andrew prepared a s'mores kit with home-made marshmallows (amazing). We made use of the rehearsal hall for dance practice, and Ogontz Hall itself was beautiful.
The majority of our guests stayed on the campsite and it was great to be able to spend time together without worrying about people needing to drive or find rides late at night.
In the months running up to the wedding, we (and our parents) got a little nervous once in a while because we wouldn't hear from the team sometimes. We realized later that they are super busy with summer camps and also don't have great phone service. If it happens to you at some point, don't worry, because they have everything covered; it’s just important to know that texting works better than calling if you really need to get in touch.
We had such an amazing wedding and find ourselves wishing we were back in our cabin at Ogontz overlooking the gorgeous lake view.

We are so happy we selected Ogontz. We got married Aug 2014, a couple in mid thirties. Worked with Sarah and Andrew who were great. We chose ogontz partly because of rave reviews we heard about the food, decorations, and area, and that they could do the cooking right there so we didn't have to find caterers, and the food would be fresh prepared, local, organic. It didn't disappoint! When Andrew started describing to us how he'd make the food our mouths started watering, and on the day of, they came through: just wow, we can't imagine better food. You want really good food for your wedding, and they just nailed it. Same thing for decor - we shared our photos pinterest, and again it was awesome, thank goodness one less thing to worry about, I don't know if we would have done it any different. All was perfectly organized, no big hiccups, so we could just enjoy the special day, these guys are pros.
We were originally concerned that the accommodation for ~250 people would be too much (too many empty spaces), but it turned out we wanted to really only have about 2 people per cabin instead of the maximum four, so with our 100-person wedding we basically filled the place up. We didn't need/use the new big concert hall they recently built.
They pointed us to a few local vendors for bar services: they don't serve alcohol themselves (makes it a little cheaper for us, so we were happy to do that).

We got married September 6th 2014. We found Camp Ogontz because my sister got married in June 2011. The best part of having a wedding at Camp Ogontz is that you are able to send the whole weekend with your friends and family. So many people can stay on site which is great! The housing is a great mix of rustic cabins, enclosed cabins, and houses. Even our friends who are not into nature were totally fine staying on site. We charged people for their rooms depending on what kind of housing they used which helped off set the cost of the wedding and it was way cheaper for them than a hotel. Camp is BYOB which also really helped.
I cannot express how wonderful Sarah and Andrew are. Andrew followed me on Pintress and then used my likes to create a magical reception and dinner hall. We wanted apple pie instead of wedding cake and they made the most wonderful pies!! It poured right before the wedding ceremony and they were very flexible moving inside.
I went to summer camp so when my sister got married we were a little nervous about the food but it is AMAZING!!! all of it is local or grown on camp. Everyone was raving about the food.
We had a casino night on Friday night which was wonderful. We had it in the rehearsal hall which was a great space. Our guests loved the ability to hike, boat, swim, play lawn games and just relax.
Obviously we loved Camp Ogontz since my family went there twice. However both experiences were totally different. they helped create two totally different weddings. you will love your wedding weekend!!!!
