Working with Ohana Events was a highlight of our wedding planning process! We worked with Danielle for our wedding at Cafe Brauer in Chicago and had the best experience. From the beginning, Ohana Events stood out to us as their "day of coordination" type package actually starts at 3 months before the wedding. This was extremely appealing to us as during our research we found most other vendors with similar services only started 4-6 weeks before the wedding. After going through the wedding planning process, I cannot imagine only meeting with our coordinator 4 weeks before the wedding. Having the extra time makes such a difference! Danielle was the best to work with as she went above and beyond with everything she did for our wedding. We learned so much from her after our initial timeline planning meeting as she thought of every little detail! We felt confident going in to our wedding knowing that Danielle would be there to take care of anything that came up. Danielle was professional, organized and just a great person to be around. She has a bubbly, positive attitude and you can tell that she genuinely loves her job and cares about the couples she works with! On the day of our wedding we were able to relax and just enjoy the moment as everything was executed to perfection. We cannot thank Danielle and Ohana Events enough for all they did for us!

From my initial meeting with Danielle, the owner of Ohana Events, I knew this was the perfect fit. Danielle’s confidence, positivity, and genuine passion for what she does made a lasting impression. I chose the day of coordination package, and Emily was assigned as our wedding coordinator.
Looking back, I feel incredibly lucky because, without Emily, this wedding simply could not have happened. She is the calmest, kindest, most resourceful, and supportive person I could have ever asked for. It felt like having a built-in best friend who went above and beyond for us time and time again.
Emily’s meticulous attention to planning, details, and timelines was remarkable. She maintained constant communication with our vendors and us, ensuring every loose end was tied up. When I faced a few beauty mishaps, Emily was right there with solutions, recommendations, and even personally reached out to vendors. Her established relationships within the wedding community speak volumes about her professionalism and the respect she’s earned. Everyone loves working with her.
On the wedding day, Emily was by my side every step of the way, from sending a sweet text while I was getting ready to warmly greeting me at the venue and constantly checking in throughout the event. She went above and beyond to calm my nerves before the ceremony, and her presence alone was incredibly reassuring.
Emily’s kindness and attentiveness extended to my family and friends as well. My mom was especially impressed by everything Emily did for us and appreciated how she even checked in on her. Emily’s care and dedication made our wedding day not only seamless but completely stress free.
To anyone considering working with Ohana Events, I cannot recommend them enough, especially Emily. Her expertise, kindness, and professionalism set her apart, and I feel so grateful to have had her by my side. As years pass, I may forget some details, but I will never forget how well cared for I felt.

OMG I cannot say enough amazing things about Ohana and our experience working with Danielle for my Miami Beach wedding in November!!!! She was an absolute force and mastered every detail from the timeline to the vendor comms to all my last minute seating changes and little requests. We had the partial planning package and I felt like we got even beyond the value we were looking for with the 3 months of preparation and on site coordination. Most importantly, Danielle was a DELIGHT to work with and I was so amazed by her flexibility, attention to detail, and humility— she didn’t have that “Miami attitude” you see with so many wedding planners down there, and she found a way to tastefully direct me while still prioritizing my wishes as the bride. Thank you for everything to Danielle and the Ohana team!!

Ohana Events and Sonya, the wedding planner, were absolutely amazing to work with. From the very beginning, Sonya was incredibly responsive, helpful, and friendly in all of our communications. Her attention to detail and ability to keep everything running smoothly on the wedding day was truly invaluable. Sonya was on top of every aspect, ensuring that everything was communicated clearly and efficiently to us and all of our vendors. The best money we spent for our wedding was hiring Ohana Events - it made the entire day so much more enjoyable and worth it, as we were able to truly be present and soak in all the special moments without having to worry about the logistics. I cannot recommend Ohana Events and Sonya highly enough!

I would 100% recommend Ohana. We went with the 6-month out planning package and were matched to work with Emily. I cannot stress enough how amazing Emily was. She was so helpful in planning our wedding from start to finish. She was so friendly and we felt such at ease on our big day knowing that she had everything taken care of.

The BEST wedding planning team we could have asked for!! From the first meeting we had with them, my husband & I were sold on working with Ohana Events. They are so easy to work with and did a phenomenal job bringing our vision to life. Wedding planning can be such a stressful time but I never felt any stress working with them - Danielle & Sonya stayed on top of every single details, and made sure our day went off without a single issue! Sonya was our day-of coordinator as well, and we could not have asked for a better person to be there for our big day. We had a very large wedding party, and Sonya kept everyone in line and on schedule! If you are on the fence at all, book with Ohana!!! You will be so happy you did!

I can’t say enough good things about Ohana events. They made our wedding planning process as seamless as possible. Emily was an absolute pleasure to work with. She handled all of our many questions with ease and relieved so much stress from the wedding planning process. I’m so grateful to have had Emily throughout every step of the way. Emily is a natural problem solver. Everything on our wedding day went off without a hitch. One of our main goals in hiring a wedding planner was for my husband and I (and our families!) to be able to enjoy our wedding day and be in the moment without worrying about the details. If you’re looking for a Wedding Planning vendor that you can trust and will put you at ease in the midst of your stressful wedding planning from beginning to the end (even after your wedding is over), please hire Ohana Events. Hiring Ohana Events was one of the best decisions we made during wedding planning and my husband I said these exact words from the moment we met Danielle at our initial consultation to as of today, a month after our wedding (and probably will say this forever!). Danielle was so kind and professional, and we knew in our gut that Ohana was the way to go. And we were 100% right. She assigned Emily to be our Day of Wedding Coordinator and we cannot thank Danielle enough for choosing the most perfect Coordinator that we could have ever asked for.
I don’t even know where to begin with the praises I have for Emily. She was absolutely the best Coordinator and went above and beyond to come up with the most detailed and organized schedule, which was the biggest task I was afraid of handling. Emily took care of communications with all of our vendors and guided us through everything we needed to plan. When planning your wedding, there’s a constant feeling that you’re forgetting something and Emily made sure nothing was forgotten. Her attention to detail and calming presence was such a joy and it was a relief to know that having an incredibly reliable Coordinator like Emily, would make our wedding go smoothly. On the day of, Emily memorized our entire schedule by heart and made sure not only we were comfortable but also our wedding party, family, and our guests. My dad came up to me during reception and asked where we found such an amazing coordinator because our family was just so impressed with everything about Emily!
We are so thankful for Emily, Danielle, and the Ohana Events Team. Our day truly could not have gone the way it did if it wasn’t for Emily. I don't have enough positive things to say about Jenna and Danielle at Ohana. They were very easy to work with and they put thought into every single detail and made sure we were not overwhelmed by the process. They communicated with all our vendors and made our wedding day seamless from start to finish, leaving us no worries on our day. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Ohana was one of the best decision/investment we made for our wedding. During my first phone meeting with Danielle, i already knew i wanted to book Ohana. Danielle was so kind, genuine and went above and beyond as she was extremely helpful in offering detailed tips/advice in our planning needs. We cant thank her enough for connecting us with our girl and friend for life, Sonya!! Where do I even begin because i can go on and on how much we (and our entire bridal party) love her!! Sonya was sooo easy to work with, her aura and positive attitude to everything made the entire process fun and light. While planning our multi-event, Indian-Western fusion wedding, we spoke with many planners to find the perfect fit. From the very first conversation with Danielle, it was clear Ohana was that fit for us! Danielle was professional, organized, and extremely helpful in offering guidance and advice for our planning needs. She was able to work with our unique set of events and create the perfect in-between coordination package for our wedding! We were matched with our planner, Sonya, 6 months out -- there are not enough words to explain how pivotal Sonya was to the success of our wedding!
For the entire 6 months, Sonya was incredibly organized and responsive, and had an incredible patience and attention to detail. She assisted us in scheduling our tastings, making decisions on day of details, creating the layout for both of our events at the Drake, creating the most organized timeline for wedding weekend, and so so much more. Our entire bridal party was amazed at the level of detail the timeline Sonya created had. She also organized a very productive site visit with our key vendors, and was consistently asking questions that my fiancé and I would never have even thought to ask our vendors.
During the actual wedding weekend, it felt as though Sonya was doing the work of 10 people. She ensured that everything was staying on track with the schedule, and all relevant parties were where they needed to be, which was no easy feat with all of the moving pieces. She also guided our vendors in pre event set up and post event clean up, which was incredibly helpful in letting us and our families enjoy the day. More than this, though, Sonya cared about every single small detail - from ensuring we had the exact right setup for our unity candle ceremony, to running down the street with an accessory for my outfit I had forgotten, she truly went above and beyond any expectation we had ever had - and it was noticed by our entire family, bridal party, and even many of our guests.
All that to say - if you have read this far in this review - HIRE OHANA. The entire team will ensure your wedding exceeds your wildest dreams :)

Ohana Events was simply outstanding from the very start. Danielle was incredibly helpful and paired us with the best coordinator EVER, Sonya. We chose the 3-month coordination package, and Sonya went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our wedding was meticulously planned. From curating our timeline to organizing wedding party events and managing all day-of logistics, her experience shined through, leaving no detail overlooked. Sonya's communication with both us and our vendors was fantastic—clear, timely, and professional.
What truly impressed us was how well-prepared she was. She had practically every detail memorized, which gave us complete peace of mind leading up to the wedding. We slept soundly knowing we were in great hands! Her bubbly, energetic personality made the whole process fun and enjoyable.
On the day of the wedding, we had an unexpected issue with one of our vendors. Sonya and her assistant jumped into action immediately and handled the situation flawlessly. We couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out.

Ohana was amazing from start to finish. I was a super detailed on top of it bride from the beginning, but always knew I needed day of coordination. When I first spoke with Danielle, she was amazing and we opted for the 6 months of coordination. Hiring Ohana was the best decision throughout our wedding process. Emily was our planner and went above and beyond my expectations, managing every tiny detail of the day and more! Emily was super communicative and helpful throughout the whole process, gave her opinions and expertise, and was truly the sweetest. Having her help us for 6 months just made everything so smooth, and its basically like full time planning minus hiring vendors. Could not recommend Emily and Ohana more!

Do yourself a favor, and hire Ohana. We worked with Emily and she was an absolute dream. She was so calm, cool, and collected. Our day was so seamless and flawless and a big reason for this was due to Emily's help and direction. She was so reachable and attentive, and made us feel so taken care of. Anytime we needed something on the day, I feel like I would turn around, and she would be right there! We were on the fence about hiring a day of planner (or 3 month out package), and we are so thankful and grateful we did. It really helped pull everything together in the final months, and I truly cant imagine what it would've looked like if we had not had Emily. I seriously want to recommend Emily and Ohana to everyone getting married. This was the best investment I made during wedding planning, and I would do it time and time again. Our wedding was the absolute best day of our lives, and we cant thank Emily and Ohana enough for everything they did to make it so amazing!

I cannot say enough positive things about Ohana Events. I consulted with a few wedding planners who would've done a lovely job but I got a gut feeling with Ohana and am so glad I followed It. They were flexible and worked with us to customize a planning outline around our goals and budget. Our planner Jenna was AMAZING and brought us so much joy from the first time we met her. She was organized and thoughtful and dedicated to honoring our vision while also relaxed and fun so planning meetings felt like hanging out with a friend. Her organization and documents/checklists made It so we were prepared ahead of time in a way that allowed us to thoroughly just enjoy the wedding weekend and week leading up. She was a sounding board for every detail like responding to panic texts about color schemes or spending 25 minutes sifting through different fonts for a menu or thinking outside the box to see what may work for a obscure yet particular vision I had for a seating chart. Our wedding day was SO relaxed and SO fun and I truly attribute a large portion of that to Jenna thinking of every.single.thing. ahead of time and knowing that if anything went wrong she'd handle It with a smile. Wish I could relive that day and work with them forever!!!

HIRE OHANA! Working with Ohana was hands down the best decision we made when wedding planning and we continue to say it was the best money that we put towards our wedding. We ended up doing the 6-month package and were lucky enough to be paired with Emily. I cannot say enough how much of a dream Emily is to work with. She was a constant source of calm & resourcefulness for us in the hectic months leading up to the wedding. She understood our vision and helped us to execute everything perfectly. She is also just a wonderful and KIND person.

If you’re lucky enough to work with Jenna, you will have the best event of your entire life. My wedding was beyond perfect and a day I’ll talk about for the rest of my life. Jenna made everything stress free, became a true friend to us, and made all of our dreams come true! Everyone has been complimenting her days after the wedding. There’s so much that goes on with planning and the day of and it was all perfect and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Every vendor selection was truly outstanding too, it was the best day. Even beyond the planning, she truly got to know me and Dan on a personal level and I couldn’t feel more blessed to have had her with me through this process and by my side on my day!

If you’re looking for a wedding planner who will help bring your dream wedding to life, you need to work with Ohana Events! Everyone on the team is amazing, but we were lucky to have Sonya as our month of planner. She went above and beyond, not only day of, but the weeks leading up to the wedding. Jenna! Jenna became part of our family for the last year. Jenna is the most hardworking, helpful, and joyful person to work with. My wife and I had the absolute best wedding with zero hiccups because Jenna did such an amazing job with detail, planning, everything that goes into wedding planning. Hiring Ohana and working with Sonya was easily the best decision we made while wedding planning. I was hesitant to hire an outside coordinator because we had a venue coordinator, but the venue coordinator does not do nearly the amount that Ohana does. Hiring Ohana is a NEED. I was first introduced to Danielle and we instantly connected. I felt she understood my vision and wanted to help create our dream wedding. We were lucky enough to be assigned to Sonya for the 90-day coordination package and she was the kindest, most patient, and organized planner. She responded quickly to emails and answered all of my questions, she took over communication with vendors and relieved much of the planning stress, she provided detailed checklists and kept me on track. She also created a detailed by the minute itinerary for the entire weekend for us, our vendors, and a shorthand version for our bridal party which was extremely helpful. Our wedding day was seamless with no hiccups and I can honestly thank Sonya for that. She made sure to keep the day moving on schedule, communicated with all of the vendors, and made sure to check in with me often. Even wedding guests and our parents gave raving reviews for Sonya. My husband and I agree that hiring Ohana and being able to work with Sonya was the best investment we would do all over again, and we recommend them to everyone. I wish I had hired Sonya sooner! Best wedding coordinator of all time. It is true, Ohana means family, and that is exactly how the team treats you.

Five stars!!! I booked Ohana Events for a Day Of Coordinator custom package. I was lucky enough to work with Rachel, and it was such a phenomenal experience!!!
It may be stressful trying to pick a planner or coordinator (at least it was for me), but Ohana is seriously legit. You are absolutely in great hands with their team. I had actually booked with a different company originally, but a bad review from a bride I knew made me reconsider. I decided to work with Ohana instead and I'm so glad I did. As they say, you get what you pay for... and your coordinator budget is NOT the place to be penny pinching.
Rachel was so incredible to work with, from the very first email all the way up to the end of our wedding. She was so organized, encouraging, and professional throughout the entire 3 months leading up to our big day. I was so so so happy to have her on my team. It rained all day on my wedding day and Rachel kept everything together seamlessly, even as our preplanned schedule went right out the window. She made our whole day run so smoothly. I truly didn't have to lift a finger, which was such a relief after months of planning. My whole family and wedding party loved her too!!
Ohana Events provides such amazing resources and checklists to keep you on track. I was amazed at how much support I received, even with just a Day Of Coordinator package. I can imagine their full and partial planning services are even more impressive!!

Hiring Ohana Events was truly the best decision we made for our wedding! Danielle was incredible at helping us understand exactly where and how Ohana would help out with our wedding planning (we did the month-of-coordination package) before we even booked, since planning a wedding was a bit intimidating for us. When our coordinator Emily came in 3 months out from our wedding, we immediately knew we made the right decision. Emily walked us through every detail of our big day and ultimately helped create a timeline that even impressed our other vendors who have worked with many coordinators before. Emily is truly the most kind, patient, thoughtful, and organized person, and it was the biggest blessing to have her on our team for our wedding. She took care of so many details that we would have never even thought of, and took so much stress off of us in the planning process. On the day of the wedding, everything was executed perfectly and our day was smoother than we could have ever anticipated thanks to her help. We have received so many comments from family and friends about how kind and helpful Emily was on our wedding day. My mom continuously brings up how impressed she was that Emily held off the speeches from starting because she realized my mom was in the bathroom. Seriously, she did not miss one single detail. I planned our wedding myself for the most part but needed help with the execution and I could not recommend Ohana more to do so!
Having their day of coordination program start 3 months before the wedding really put me at ease. I was counting down the days until they would jump in and we had the absolute best experience with Rachel.
She was so thorough in our introduction and was there every step of the way from there offering reassurance, advice, and everything in between!
We could not have pulled our day off without her help!

I absolutely adore Rachel and the team at Ohana! The attention to detail for my wedding was on point! Rachel anticipated our needs even before we did! I highly recommend Ohana!! The team stepped in and made sure EVERYTHING was covered. Due to an unanticipated change, Danielle even served as our ordained officiant! Rachel sent a comprehensive to do list each month, which was extremely helpful! The day was our fairytale and we owe much credit to our expert planner, Rachel! I had a vision for reception decor and Rachel made it happen by finding the perfect center pieces! I highly recommend Rachel and the Ohana team for your wedding planning needs! My fiancé and I had planned almost every detail of our wedding, but realized we still had room in the budget and wanted to minimize our stress for the big day so we started looking at wedding planners on the Knot. We were late in the game to find someone as we were just a month out, but we only needed coordination and for someone to fine tune all the details. Many vendors responded that they only offered full/half planning packages and not just coordination or that what we needed was too much for a coordinator to take on.
We finally ended up securing consults with Ohana and one other vendor. My very first Ohana experience was with Danielle and she immediately made me feel at ease about the whole process, but also pointed out a glaring problem with our wedding day timeline. I had planned for hair/makeup to be finished too late in the day which would've made us late for photos and even later for the ceremony. Danielle saved the day in just the consult. The other vendor had a lot of great ideas as well, but did not come anywhere close to Ohana's level of organization, attention to detail, and calming effect. Danielle's organization, calm and friendly demeanor gave me a good vibe overall and so we decided to move forward with Ohana.
Danielle informed us we'd be working with one of their senior planners-Emily. Emily turned out to be professional but also friendly, engaged, detail-oriented, thoughtful, and incredibly organized as well. I kept expecting something to go wrong on our wedding day, but it was executed pretty flawlessly and ended up being even more beautiful than either of us could have imagined and we know that is in large part due to Emily. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Emily identified any gaps we had in our planning and helped us resolve them, coordinated the vendors and handled all communications, helped us take care of all the details we never even thought of, kept us all on schedule, and attended to everything and anything on the big day (candle and name plate/seating card placement). I do not know what our wedding would have looked like without Emily and I don't think we would have been able to be so present and enjoy our own wedding without her help. We highly recommend Ohana Events as a whole, and of course Danielle and Emily! They were worth every penny.

Sonya’s attention to detail was unparalleled throughout the entire wedding planning process. From the initial call 6 months before our wedding, everything was meticulously considered, ensuring a seamless and beautiful event.
Sonya was super organized with a perfectly crafted and detailed timeline. She coordinated with all of our vendors and managed all logistical aspects with precision. I don’t know how people do it without help from a planner. It took so much stress and pressure off of us in the months and days leading up to the wedding.
On the wedding day, Sonya made sure everything ran on time and that everyone was where they needed be so we could enjoy every moment of the day. I had the pleasure of working with Sonya at Ohana Events as my "day of" coordinator. However, that title is quite misleading, as I texted with Sonya nearly daily for a month or two leading up to the wedding. She initially reached out around the 90 day mark prior to wedding. Sonya helped me maintain sanity in an otherwise insane time of my life (including wedding but also just in general). She was firm when she needed to be, herded all my MANY vendors, maintained professionalism when it was difficult to do so and acted as my advocate and vendor liaison. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ohana Events (OE), but Sonya is truly a rockstar. As a type A bride, I had my doubts about truly needing a coordinator, but trust me when I say - you'll regret not enjoying your day to the fullest without the support of a "day of" coordinator - on site vendor coordinators are great, but not sufficient.

Danielle was a crucial part of my husband and I’s wedding day! She went above and beyond continually throughout the day and made everything so seamless and perfect! I felt so calm knowing Danielle had it all under control. Moments before I walked down the aisle, Danielle noticed my lipstick was on my teeth. I got it off and then realized my hands were bright pink when I was about to walk down the aisle in my white dress. Danielle was so calm and told me to wipe my hands on her black dress to get the lipstick off. She totally saved the day in that moment!!!! I cannot begin to express how thankful I am that we had Danielle at our wedding!! She is truly incredible!!! Ohana Events is THE BEST OF THE BEST and hiring them is by far one of the best decisions you can make for your wedding day!!!!!

We hired Ohana Events for our wedding based on our venues recommendation and I am so glad that we did! We were assigned Sonya who went above and beyond for us. Our initial planning meeting lasted 3 hours and she went through every single detail possible, which I so appreciated. There were things I had never thought of that she brought to my attention. She created a document that listed literally everything you could need in a wedding timeline that even other vendors did not have a single question for us because it was all in the document. Sonya ran around for us all day, no questions asked, dealt with our crazy families and bridal party, and stayed to help us clean up She was the last person left at the venue. If you are debating if you need to spend money on a planner….it will absolutely be worth EVERY PENNY. We had the pleasure of working with Emily as our month of planner and from our first meeting, I was able to relax about al the wedding details. Emily was so organized, calm, and genuinely wanted to help make our wedding enjoyable.
I actually do not know if I would have been sane the week leading up to our wedding without Emily. She thought of every last detail that had slipped my mind, handled communication with all the vendors, and was a calming force in general.
Fast forward to the wedding- I do not think I would have enjoyed it half as much without her. I was able to have the absolute best night of my life while Emily was there to oversee everything (make sure we got pictures we had asked for, I remembered to change into my second look dress with enough time) and she personally took everything I left from the reception to our hotel room. I woke up the next day feeling like I had a fairy godmother taking care of everything.
Seriously- booking Ohana was the BEST money I spent on my entire wedding. If you want to ensure you have the time of your life on your wedding day, you need to book with Danielle and her team!!

My wife found Ohana two months prior to our big day and we went with their Month-Of Coordination. We (mainly my wife) had been attempting to DIY the wedding planning up until that point, and I thought we had everything covered, so I was a little surprised she wanted this service. When we hopped on our first call with Emily, I was in disbelief to realize how many details I was unaware of. Emily was absolutely instrumental and essential in bringing our vision to fruition. No detail was left to chance. When Emily realized the day before that I had dropped the ball and still not gotten a cake stand or card box, she immediately took care of it and provided the items. We CANNOT recommend Ohana events enough for wedding planning needs. We worked with Mara and the partial package and could not be happier with our experience. Mara put us at ease with her communication during the stressful time of 2 months out, and followed my stress and concerns. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Jenna at Ohana Events for my recent wedding at Cafe Brauer in Chicago, and couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! From our first meeting, Jenna displayed an exceptional level of professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail.
We had chosen the “In Between” package, which first gave us an opportunity to work with Danielle, the owner of Ohana, to review contracts, discuss vendor recommendations, and ensure we were on schedule in terms of locking down vendors. We absolutely loved Danielle and she was extremely responsive to any questions we had, and had incredible attention to detail. 6 months out from our wedding, we began working with Jenna, one of Ohana’s senior planners, to outline our wedding day timeline.
Jenna is calm, confident, and highly organized. She seamlessly coordinated with vendors, managed timelines flawlessly, and kept everything running smoothly on the day of the event. She handled a lot behind the scenes, and completely handled things like transportation to our after-party venue, late night food delivery, rounding up the bridal party for certain events, finding family for photos, last minute printing of items for the venue, and MUCH much more. At the end of the night, all of our personal belongings were so thoughtfully and perfectly wrapped up and packed away in my car, which we appreciated so so much. The whole evening came together magically (but it wasn’t magic, it was Jenna!) We appreciated her calm & confident demeanor, and loved working with her.

Hiring Ohana was one of the best decisions my husband and I made to make our wedding day amazing! As soon as we had our first meeting with Danielle we knew that we would be in good hands. We went with the "in-between" package which started 6 months before our wedding date. Danielle helped with recommendations prior to the official start of our package, which was so helpful. We were paired with Sonya for our wedding and she was the perfect fit for us. Sonya was so organized and our first meeting helped us to organize our ideas because her questions were so thorough. Throughout our 6 months, Sonya was very responsive and helped to make the timeline of our dreams. She had the timeline down to the minute and make a list of all the things that needed to be brought for the day of the wedding. Sonya also provided us many recommendations, looked over contracts, and really took the time to understand what we wanted to make our day special. The day of the wedding, she kept me, my husband, and large bridal party on time throughout the day. If any big issues happened, I had no idea because Sonya took care of it all. Where do I even begin. I was referred to Ohana Events by a friend who found them online based on reviews. But boy, I didn't know what a treat I was in for. Working with Danielle (full wedding package) was the highlight of my entire year (all things included). Every single meeting with her left me feeling optimistic and excited about the wedding. I had a creative vision for how our wedding would be executed, and also quite a few cultural additions for the day that would make Danielle's job more complex. Danielle was the epitome of "professional" and handled EVERY vendor flawlessly. She gave me ideas for the ceremony and reception, and always advocated for the best price with every vendor. She considered the big picture of how each piece of the day would flow together, and she also was extremely flexible when we added or changed things.
She made sure that every line item on the decor budget had been discussed and was charged as previously stated. She asked SUCH detailed questions from the venue and decorators that there was no room left for error. Towards the wedding day, she sent biweekly update emails reminding us of every last thing we needed to remember (including to write vows ahead of time).
We ended up needing to add day-of-coordination with Jenna for a traditional ceremony, and that was also a great decision. Jenna did TONS behind the scenes to make sure the ceremony went smoothly, even without having all the information she needed from the MC prior.
I'm almost certain she was up until 2am the night before wedding day coordinating last minute changes with the venue, but still was right on time to our getting-ready Airbnb. Danielle brought positive energy, shielded us from anything that wasn't going as planned while finding an alternative to keep things on track, and coordinated flawlessly with all vendors. For example, our wedding party trolley had major issues getting to us, and Danielle drove me to the first look in her own car so that we would stay on schedule!
She was able to handle boisterous guests with ease, and she came to us to check in about decisions needing to be made about increasing videography/photography duration based on prior conversations we had about deciding on day of. Danielle even checked prior with the photo/video team to ensure that the hourly cost to increase time on the day of was the regular rate without any penalty.
I could go on and on. Danielle and the Ohana team ensured that my DREAM wedding exceeded my wildest expectations. I will love and thank them forever!!! You will be so so glad you chose Ohana Events for the most important day of your life <3

We worked with Jenna at Ohana Events for our April 2023 wedding and had the best experience! Putting so much trust in an event planner was nerve wracking since our wedding going well heavily depended on them, but Jenna hit it out of the park and then some. Our first meeting was a deep dive into our wedding so she could understand where we were and what we wanted, and from there she kept us on track to get everything completed ontime. Having her by our side to remind us of what to do, coordinate our final walk through and timeline, and ensure all our vendors were ready for the day was invaluable.
On the wedding Jenna was amazing - she was a calm presence in the chaos of the day and made sure everything went off without a hitch! She queued us through the ceremony, kept the DJ on time with music and announcements, and made sure all our food was served, everyone was in place for speeches and any other question or request that came up she was on top of.
On top of the great service and expertise from Jenna and Ohana events she was an absolute pleasure to work with, always professional and positive and a true friend during a stressful time. Working Danielle and Jenna was one of the best choices we made when wedding planning!

The best decision we made while wedding planning was hiring Ohana Events! We spent a year planning our wedding and I truly believe the reason I did not feel any stress was because of Danielle! Any question/thought/idea was answered quickly, honestly and thoroughly. Danielle was so communicative and made sure every vendor had what they needed and I was never worried something wasn't happening. Our wedding day ran so smooth and on time and I received so many compliments from guests on what a seamless day/night it was! Danielle completely captured our vision of our wedding and made it all come to life! We loved working with Ohana throughout our wedding planning process! Danielle was incredibly helpful in the first 6 months of planning answering questions and checking our contracts (we had a partial planning package). We then loved working with Sonya for the last 6 months; she worked incredibly hard to make our wedding the amazing evening it was. In particular we know that working with the caterer leading up to the night was challenging, and then on the night itself was particularly difficult and frustrating. Despite that, because of Sonya's hard and tenacious work, we had the best night of our lives and all of our guests loved the wedding. Some are even complimenting the food, which is truly a testament to Sonya (and not the caterer). We are so so glad we hired Ohana; truly one of the best decisions we made in the wedding planning process.

We just had our long awaited wedding this past weekend, and it wouldn’t have come together if it weren’t for Rachel with O’Hana Events. Even if you’re like me, and have mentally planned this event out for nine years, there will be things that need another person with wedding experience to help handle. I took a friend’s advice and went with O’Hana because Rachel was just that person. She caught things I missed in the set up and take down (somehow the otherwise fantastic florist thought I’d be doing my own turn in my dress!) and what time vendors would arrive (was it 8 or 9 am?). These are things even my most type A self might not have caught, but on the day when surrounded by family and friends I definitely would not have had the mental capacity to handle. Having a professional advocate for handling these things is something I’m now recommending to all couples hosting weddings, and best of all if they can, go with O’Hana Events!

In the fall of 2021 I was lucky enough to work with Mara from the Ohana team for my wedding. She was so professional and organized and really helped me bring all of our final details together. This year my maid of honor worked with Ohana for her wedding and the experience was exactly the same - seamless.

We came into wedding planning confident, with spreadsheets, timetables, and grand plans of doing it all ourselves. And we would have been dead in the water without Ohana. Hiring Ohana was the best wedding decision we made that didn’t involve an “I Do”.
Although we had identified and interviewed most of our vendors independently, we worked with Danielle to book an “in-between” package with Ohana. She proceeded to review all of our vendor contracts to make sure there weren’t gaps or any concerning clauses.
When the 6-month “in-between” period kicked in, Danielle ushered an angel into our lives: Jenna. We’re unsure if Jenna sees her job more as planner, cat herder, or emotional pillar, but we’d endorse her for any and all on LinkedIn. Jenna took charge of taking our documented details, contracts, and spreadsheets, and forged a master planning document. She pointed out blind spots and scheduling issues that we didn’t have the foresight or experience to anticipate. Jenna fixed problems between vendors before we knew that they’d happened. She had the patience to repeatedly review the details with whomever was stressed or needed a reminder that particular day. Jenna was a stress shield between us and the realities of the last month of wedding planning. She was there for us during ceremony and reception, which let us and our families fully enjoy the day. We also believe that she may have solved a problem or two that we never even knew about.

Both Rachel and Danielle were so helpful, knowledgeable and on top of it all. I could not have gotten through wedding planning without Danielle & Ohana Events. Period, full stop, no exaggeration.
It’s hard to know where to start with how describing how crucial Danielle was to the success of my wedding and even more than that, to the preservation of my sanity during the planning process! Danielle has a lot of strengths, but the number one thing I was impressed with was her emotional maturity. Weddings are stressful and emotional, and you’re not always your best, and from time to time, Danielle got caught taking the hit from emotional crosshairs that were not aimed at her. Where some people would have taken this personally and caused a bigger issue, Danielle always diffused the problem by reacting calmly and rationally, letting any negativity roll off of her like water on a duck’s back. Fundamentally, she knew that whatever you were upset about had nothing to do with her, and so she could just help you let it go and move forward to the next thing with grace and professionalism. This is such a rare skill and I would recommend hiring Ohana on the strength of this alone.
That said, there are a million other ways that Danielle came through for me throughout the process— she introduced me to my stationer, Ashley Frye, who helped me create invitations and wedding day paper that was beautiful and creative beyond my wildest dreams; on the day of the wedding, when Portillo’s was being difficult about delivering my after party food, she arranged for one of her assistants to pick it up and I didn’t even know there was a problem at all; she arranged for ADA compliant transportation for my disabled mother in law; she saved me thousands of dollars in furniture rental fees; she got me block rates at luxury hotels in downtown Chicago that were so affordable that my guests were literally shocked; she knew our venue intimately and helped us navigate a million tiny details I would never have even thought to ask about; I could go on. If there was a vendor that I found annoying or didn’t have the bandwidth to deal with, I could ask Danielle to take over and then I never had to worry about it again. There was literally a point at which I was worried that we would have bad luck because Danielle was so on top of everything that nothing would go wrong at the wedding (don’t worry, they did go wrong, and Danielle handled it).
I think it’s important for people to remember that no wedding planner is going to be able to be inside your head — there will be times of frustration, miscommunication, etc. There were times where I definitely could’ve communicated better to Danielle’s team that I trusted her judgment and she could’ve run with things without my input, so my advice to future brides is to definitely delegate as much as you can and communicate to the Ohana Team when your input isn’t needed in order to save yourself some energy and time. They won’t always know what you’re thinking, but trust me that Danielle & her team are the next best thing… and sometimes they’re better.

Danielle and the entire Ohana Events team were absolutely amazing in helping us prepare for our wedding day. We worked with her for about a year and a half before our big day and the entire process was seamless. Danielle is so knowledgeable, personable, helpful and smart.
