The workers were very professional and helpful. We loved working with Brooke for food tasting and planning. She was very helpful, energetic, and kind. Guests loved the food, and we felt that it was a reasonable price.

We had Old Carolina at our wedding in April 2024 and it was such a hit! The food was excellent and everyone loved getting to try all of the different BBQ sauces! Coffee was included with the catering, the staff were amazing and also cut our cake, and we also were able to rent chairs directly through them which saved us time and money! I would highly recommend them to cater your event!

We wanted to go with a "non-traditional" dinner, and Old Carolina fit the bill perfectly! We got a load of rave feedback from our guests, about the change in food and how much they loved it. The service was fantastic, they made sure to encourage us to eat, and provided us with lots of food and ensured we had all the drinks we needed. They were very easy to coordinate with, even from across the country!

Joseph from Old Carolina was amazing. Communication was quick and easy. He was willing to work with us and make changes to the menu depending on the guest count. We used them for appetizers and our guests loved what was served. We highly recommend them.

Old Carolina did a great job for our wedding. Not only was the food delicious but they were extremely helpful! They arrived first thing in the morning to setup all the tables, chairs, and linens despite our reception being much later in the day. They were very accommodating throughout the whole process. They also made the extras that we needed to rent very easy and took care of everything! Once the reception ended they had all the tables and chairs put away in no time. I would definitely recommend them!

We had Old Carolina Barbecue cater our wedding; if your reception is at Happy Days Lodge, they are one of the preferred caterers that you shouldn’t overlook. We couldn’t be happier with the service, quality and cost! As other reviews mention when working with their catering service, Brooke was extremely helpful and responsive. She certainly alleviated a lot of the anxieties we had as the wedding day approached. We went with the buffet style, and ordered the pulled pork, pulled chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and salads. Everything was delicious! They even made accommodations for us, going above and beyond, to make the buffet go much more quickly, so we could get out on the dance floor! Afterwards, there were plenty of leftovers that OCB boxed up for us to take home. Would highly recommend them if you’re searching for a caterer in their area.

We used Old Carolina to cater our wedding and they did a phenomenal job! All of the servers were very nice. The Bride had some food allergies that they went out of their way to accommodate and the food was great! We did not have to worry at all about the food for our wedding day and would recommend their catering service to anyone!

The food was absolutely delicious! We worked with Brooke and she was amazing and so helpful. My guests loved the food. I definitely recommend the Mac N Cheese! We got so many compliments on the food. Their vegetarian pasta is also amazing, so that is not a worry for the guests who do not eat meat.

After experiencing Old Carolina's food and meeting Brooke at a bridal show we knew that we wanted Old Carolina to cater our wedding. The food is amazing and Brooke is such a genuine and down to earth person that we knew that we were making the right decision. It was very important to us to not only have great food at our wedding but to also work with great people. We definitely had that with Old Carolina. Brooke went above and beyond for us by driving quite a ways, since we live farther Northeast, to meet at an Old Carolina closer to us for our wedding food tasting. She also made us feel comfortable and cared about. Brooke is seriously the best! We also had to navigate through the pandemic and with rescheduling our wedding from May to July and during this time Old Carolina and Brooke were there for us and were ready to accommodate us and our new wedding date. Brooke even said that whatever date we picked they would make work even if it meant needing to hire more people. It took so much worry and stress away from us and we were so thankful for that! The food on the day of the wedding was amazing! We heard so many great things about the food from our guests and we were so happy that we had leftovers. So good! The staff on the day of the wedding were also amazing and the nicest people! They made sure that everything was perfect and that everyone was taken care of. Thank you for making us feel so special! Old Carolina was an awesome caterer for our small (75 guest) fall wedding. Old Carolina packages and pricing are incredibly reasonable and our guests loved all the options they had to choose from. We had a couple of meat options, as well as a vegetarian option with sides, cornbread, salad, water and iced tea. Not to mention, the four delicious sauces that Old Carolina is known for. The staff the day of the wedding was friendly and attentive to guest's needs. As a special shout-out, Brooke Guiley was a pleasure to work with to sort out all of the details to make the day run smoothly. I would recommend Old Carolina and Brooke to anyone who looking for delicious food at a great price and excellent customer service.

Yum!! We worked with Brooke from Old Carolina BBQ and she was incredible. We ended up picking a new venue within a month or so before our big day and she took the time to meet us there to help decide on set up and what would work best. She was so easy to work with and very helpful!! The food spoke for itself! All of our guests loved it and many went back up for seconds. Luckily, there was some leftover for us to take home! Oh and the pricing was VERY reasonable for what you get!! Go to a tasting and if bbq is what you have in mind then you’ll be choosing Old Carolina!!

Great staff and great food served at my wedding. Catering manager was helpful throughout the process and allowed for customization of different catering options. Staff arrived ahead of time to setup and was helpful in setting out additional items not included in the catering package (cocktail napkins, utensils for cake, plates for cake, apps, etc). Would highly recommend for a wedding or any event.

We had so many compliments on our food by guests. My husband and I are big foodies so one of the major priorities for us was to have really good food at the wedding and Old Carolina went above and beyond! One guest was a South Carolina native who RAVED about how this is the best barbecue he's had since living in Ohio, talk about a compliment! There was a management change from Brooke to Deb during our planning but even that was handled seamlessly. The caterers were great and even cut our cake for us last minute when I forgot to plan who would do that ahead of time. I would recommend Old Carolina to anyone in NE Ohio, they have the most competitive prices and best wedding food out there!

First, the food was amazing. Second, the staff was incredibly professional and moved so quickly. Deb was wonderful to work with and communicated everything that we needed to know and made sure we were on the same page the entire time. She personally delivered our plates and gave helpful advice to help our day look perfect and go smoothly. Barbecue may not be conventional but it was a huge hit. The prices are wonderful and you can pick and choose everything that you want or don't want. I would recommend OCBC to anyone and everyone.

We literally could not be happier that we went with Old Carolina!!!! Everyone I spoke with from this company did literally everything within their power to make our wedding perfect. They were so unbelievably nice and professional and went out of their way to provide my venue with the necessary paperwork needed to become an approved vendor at this location. They even drove out 45 minutes one way just to get there which I appreciate like they would not believe. The food was absolutely perfect and we got so many compliments!! And it was so affordable. $20 per person for a buffet and it was only that high because we added on extra sides and desserts. The other approved caterers wanted $5,000 for less food and one serving! I cannot contain my excitement, hence the exclamation marks, because you need to have them cater. Literally no complaints. Please please consider this company for literally any catering you need.

Old Carolina was the perfect selection for our barn wedding. Not only is their food amazing, the linens, plates, silverware, etc are all taken care of by the catering. The staff was super helpful and friendly the day of our event. I would definitely recommend using them when looking for barbecue for your wedding!

We LOVE Old Carolina Barbecue! We had them as our caterer for our August 17th wedding and had nothing but rave reviews from our guests. Everyone was so pleased that it was "non-traditional" wedding food. Their catering truly is one of the most affordable companies around and you will be hard-pressed to find better food for any cheaper. Only downside during the whole experience was that our account had 3 different catering managers over the course of our planning process. All were wonderful but it made as if there was a lot of turnover in staffing. Be prepared to leave with LOTS of leftovers!

OCB was my wedding caterer and they were amazing! All of our guests were saying it was the best wedding food they ever had. My venue was very DIY so I loved that I could get a package that included linens, plates, napkins, silverware, water, etc. Deb made planning so easy and the serving staff was wonderful and helpful. Highly recommend for weddings!

Old Carolina was great! From the food, the staff at our reception and the ease of working with Brooke I would pick Old Carolina over & over. Brooke was fantastic to work with- she answered all my emails, arranged for our linens to be set up the day before our reception, and anytime there was a change to our menu did it without a fuss. I also suggest doing their I DO BBQ package- basically everything you would need catering wise for your day is included in this! We had a great experience working with OCBC! Everyone liked the food and our coordinators worked to get us the best deal. Only issue was for our vegetarians - the pasta set aside for them never made it to their plates. Used them for appetizers, meal, and cookie dessert, and all were popular!

My daughter didn't want the 'typical' wedding food she ate at so many of her friends' weddings. Her favorite ever since she was a little girl has always been a good barbecue (she likes barbecue sauce on her eggs, her salads, her French fries), so when she saw Old Carolina Barbecue listed as a preferred vendor at our chosen wedding venue, we knew we had to go for a taste-testing. We made our appointment with Leslieanne Lake, who met us on the appointed day with her entire crew. They set up a full buffet that gave us the chance to taste everything they offer for a wedding buffet. My husband and I, our daughter, her fiancee and his mom all came, and boy, did we enjoy a delicious meal! We quickly signed a contract for our wedding day and chose our favorite foods --- all of it is great, but we all particularly loved the pulled pork and the corn bread. Leslieanne was a huge help over the next few months, always quick to respond to my emails and to answer all of my questions patiently and thoroughly. On the appointed day, her crew arrived and set up so quickly that I was amazed. Their service was excellent, so friendly and polite. They were all very willing to answer questions and to go the extra mile for our guests. And at the end of the reception, their clean-up was done so quietly and efficiently that I was completely shocked to look over toward where the buffet had been and discover that it was gone like it had never been there! They were a highly professional, well-oiled team. They provided delicious, quality food for our guests, were polite and friendly while serving it, wrapped up all the leftovers for us, and left the venue spotless. I am still receiving compliments about how excellent the food was at our wedding. I am certain that all of this is why Old Carolina Barbecue is considered to be a preferred vendor. They surely deserve that name in my book --- I highly recommend this company for all of your catering needs!

The food was really good on the day of and they made everything look lovely. I loved the point of contact too, she was very sweet and easy to work with. Even though they are a BBQ company, does not mean that they made my event look less nice. Their table clothes and place settings (I paid for the upgrade so that I could have real vs plastic) were also nice. I would highly recommend them!

Brooke was wonderful to work with throughout the whole wedding planning process. She was always prompt in responding to questions and emails leading up to the big day. When the mother of the groom and I did a tasting at one of their events we knew that is was the right vendor to handle our menu for our wedding day! We taste tested everything on the catering menu and the staff gave us plenty of time to try all of our options before setting with us to answer questions, unlike other catering companies we did tastings with. The staff were very understanding of our need to have a vegetarian option and our concern that the pasta we choose may be a little dry if it sets out for a long period of time during the summer days. The staff added notes to exclude the bacon in the green beans and to add extra oil base to the pasta, and those notes were followed as both were exactly as requested the day of the wedding. As the wedding day approached Brooke touched base with me to verify all the details. The vendor also handled setting up the appetizers and did a wonderful job of keeping them stocked. I highly recommend their catering services to anyone looking for an amazing vendor, while still staying within a wedding budget!

I am so glad that Old Carolina was one of the catering options at my venue. My husband and I both wanted to serve barbecue to match the casual setting of our venue, and Old Carolina’s service and value really cannot be matched. In addition to the dinner, their staff helped set up the entire venue and I could seemingly rent the entire Miller’s party supply catalogue through them, making it easy to add additional lighting, fans, and other necessities my venue did not have. The catering manager I worked with, Brooke, was so helpful in the planning process and was really flexible when I needed to make changes in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Their menu is delicious and they have a surprising amount of flexibility for people with dietary restrictions, including the ability to clearly label the food so your guests don’t have to bother you with questions! We also had so much food leftover that we were able to feed all the out of town guests the next day!

Old Carolina's food and service was amazing! We worked with Jordan and Makenna and they made our planning process so easy! Our wedding went from 100 to about 60 guests and the transition was so effortless on our end. We chose a couple appetizer hour trays for our guests and when it came to dinner, it was absolutely DELICIOUS. Our guests are still talking about how blown away they were by the food. We were even able to customize our food and have mahi mahi and shrimp from Baja West Coast Kitchen along with other choices from Old Carolina. One of the best things about choosing Old Carolina were all of the extra perks that made it so easy for us when considering caterers for our wedding. Makenna and her team came in and set up our linens and the table settings the night before, they have a pie cutting service and a champagne/sparkling cider service, and at the end of the night they cleaned everything up and took care of it all! It was so effortless on our part, after choosing what to include in our menu. We are so thankful for everything that Jordan and Makenna did for us, our wedding day went perfectly! Makenna and her team even brought up fire wood for our s'mores fire pit after we forgot to get some on the way to the venue! It was such a pleasure working with Old Carolina, we highly recommend them and will definitely be going back to have our wedding food every year!

Leslianne and her team are hands down, the best of the best. Leslianne was personable throughout the planning experience and was great to work with. She was honest and helpful with any questions I had (I can ask a lot of questions...). Her team was professional, personable and quickly took care of our guests' needs. Our power went out for a few hours and came on right before the wedding but the Old Carolina team remained calm and collected and seemed to be prepared for anything, including calming the bridal party! The food was absolutely amazing and our guests still rave about it being the best wedding food. The linens and china we chose were absolutely gorgeous together and really set the tone for the wedding! We are so so happy that we chose Old Carolina and would give them more stars if we could!! Our wedding was catered by Old Carolina. Brooke, our coordinator, was extremely helpful and good at listening. Our food was amazing, the prices were very reasonable, and we were overall very happy with Old Carolina. Of all our friends who have been recently married, I think we paid the lowest amount and ended up with the best food. Highly Recommended!!

I cannot say enough about Old Carolina BBQ. The food was delicious and the price was excellent! Our guests were complimenting the food all night and saying "best wedding food ever". Brooke and the catering crew with Old Carolina BBQ were such an amazingly helpful resource during our wedding planning, and throughout the entire event! They really went above and beyond- for example: the caterers helped us move chairs from the outdoor ceremony to inside the barn where our rehearsal was held. The food was delicious and everything was very reasonably priced. It was a nice convenience that they are partnered with a linen company too, and definitely a bonus that they come help you set up the night before!

The food and service was perfect! I heard many guest comments about how delicious the food was and have already had a guest decide to book them after being at our wedding. All of the servers were friendly and attentive. Leslieann Lake was incredible to work with - she answered my many emails and questions quickly. We used their full service catering with linens, china, silver, glassware and did both appetizers and a full meal plus several additional items. Great value!

I cannot leave a higher review for Old Carolina! From our initial emails to our tasting to our wedding day, we could not be more pleased with their professionalism, attention to detail, and positive attitudes. Leslianne was amazing to work with, and was incredibly prompt with her email responses and returned phone calls. She did everything possible to ensure our day was everything we imagined it to be and was incredibly accommodating with our ideas. The food served at our wedding was even better than what we had sampled at our tasting and at the Old Carolina restaurant. They pulled the pork right as my husband and I walked up to the buffet table! Our guests loved our non-traditional menu, and many went up for seconds and thirds. I absolutely recommend Old Carolina for your “I Do BBQ”!

Old Carolina was amazing. We had high expectations for food and service going into our wedding just because of our experiences with them in the past. They exceeded our already-high expectations! Food was delicious and service was friendly. We did buffet-style for about 130 people. They are reasonable, responsive, accommodating. We got a lot of compliments from guests saying the food was delicious and different. I would 100% recommend them for any event!

No major complaints from us, and many compliments from our guests! One small-ish thing that I noted at our reception was that with the way they set out the different things we had picked out--the BBQ, a soup-like appetizer that needed a bowl, salad that was plated separately--it was not easy to carry everything in two hands. Especially while still being able to pump your favorite sauce! Also, the staff seemed surprised when we let them know that they were supposed to cut and serve the cake (we had provided the plates/forks/serving set as instructed). Overall, though, we were extremely satisfied with their service, and with all that was included in their full package while still being reasonably priced. The linens looked great and were set up early so that we could get to decorating. The mason jar water glasses were a nice touch for our barn wedding. And our photographer said in the 300+ weddings he's been to, ours was the best food!

Leslieanne was very nice and easy to work with. She was timely in sending emails and returning phone calls. The food was very good! The contract included "cake cutting assistance " - I confirmed with Leslieanne the day before that they would bring a knife and utensil to serve the cake but they arrived with neither! They were a bit lax in bussing tables - they had to be asked to do this. Overall, dealing with Leslieanne was great, the servers were a bit unprepared and not attentive to anything other than serving the food.

Leslieanne and her staff were wonderful to work with and kept asking what they could do for us throughout the night. They really made my daughter's wedding a success. The food was great and the staff was incredible. I highly recommend Old Carolina for any of your catering needs. I'm not sure how you received a 5 star rating when your Franchise Owner treats your customer poorly. You guys catered to a corporate event and was close to 1 hour late. Luckily Angel Burton (Sales Manager) was nice enough to apologize. When I escalated this to Todd Schafer (Franchise Owner) he exacts words were "I can assure there are always 2 sides to every story and experience". In another email he had the audacity to speak to me like this "Ma'am, as stated there are 2 sides to every story. This is something we teach our children at a young age." How dare you talk to me like this? For a company that caters to weddings and corporate events I would expect more respect than this. My company will never EVER use you guys for an event EVER again. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. If you want copies of the email I still have them.

Our theme was rustic / outdoorsy so BBQ was perfect! It was fun to have more casual food in a dressier setting and it worked surprisingly well. We plated the salad and served the dinner via buffet to minimize waste (I initially really wanted to serve family-style). By wedding food standards, Old Carolina's prices are very competitive and the food is delicious. Meats are served without sauce so guests can add as much or as little as they want and the meal can be easily eaten with a knife and fork without getting fingers and clothes dirty. We received rave reviews from guests who absolutely loved the food and the change from standard wedding dinner fare. The Old Carolina team was flexible, responsive, and a joy to work with. Would recommend for any type of event. We will continue to be happy customers of their local restaurants as well!

We used Old Carolina BBQ from North Canton for our wedding, Rocco was our head contact. We are SO happy with the service they provided. ALL of our guests complimented us on the food, as bbq isn't boring wedding food and it was delicious! The staff was friendly and polite and was more than willing to follow any requests we had. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they were 10 minutes late. After they got there, everything went very quickly and smoothly though!

Let me begin by saying that I had heard wonderful things about Old Carolina before I decided to check them out as a wedding caterer. I have heard people gush over the food in the restaurant and we had delicious samples at a bridal show so I decided to set up a tasting for a few months out. My fiancé and mother in law came from out of state to attend this tasting that was supposed to be for six people. When we showed up to the restaurant, the lady we were supposed to meet was not there and nobody had heard from her. I decided to call her to make sure she was on her way and was incredibly disappointed when I spoke to her. First of all, she accused me of getting the date wrong for a few minutes before finally checking her calendar to realize that SHE in fact forgot about it. She then told me that she was at home and asked if we could just come back another time. I told her no since we had people drive in specifically for this and she was clearly annoyed. She eventually agreed to meet us (45 minutes late) for the tasting and the disappointment continued. We chose a couple of meats and sides to try and as we were trying them, she decided to ask me a million questions to rush through things so she could get back home and I ended up trying cold food. She then told us that the turkey was one of her favorite items and asked if we wanted to try it. We agreed and she went in the back only to come back and inform us that they were out of turkey. Fine, but then she tells us how amazing the Mac and cheese is and convinces us to try that too. She goes in the back to get some and lo and behold, they are out of that too, but don't we want to just agree to pay exra to have that at our wedding?! Not a chance. Not to mention, they advertise the tasting for six people, and each person gets MAYBE a bite of each item so don't expect too much. I understand it is free, but I would have liked to actually taste the food. We left that night highly disappointed. I emailed this woman to try and get pricing information and she was awful at responding (2 weeks with no response). I emailed the company to complain and Leslianne got in touch with me. She informed me that if we choose OC, she would personally handle our event and take over for the originally lady. Leslianne was a pleasure to work with, timely with her responses and very attentive to our needs. The day before the wedding I was eating lunch when the first woman called me to ask about where they were supposed to set things up. What?! She wasn't supposed to be there since she was so unhelpful to begin with. Overall, the food at the reception was good and we had plenty left over, but my bad experience with the first representative from the company definitely turned me off from them and I am not sure that I would recommend working with them.

Horrible service every time, but extra rude today! Called at 12:09 for pick up, was told it'll be ready in 10 minutes. Got there at 12:20, walked straight to carry out line. Stood there and waited for 1/2 hour, still no one comes to help while the "eat-in folks are being catered to and served." Workers and manager alike! Really?! And they even have signs for a carry out line and claim that, "If you're in a hurry, just call in for pick up, & walk straight here. You'll pay and be on your way." Really?!! Really?!! Gotta be kidding me- worst service ever. I will NEVER go there again! ----- After some thought- I was probably in the wrong line, but shouldn't a worker at least ask me why I'm standing there and at least direct me where I should actually be standing? I walked up to the pick up area & was greeted by workers looking at me- I was confused so I said, "Hi! I'm here for pick up." All they did was smile and then walked away... They could've at least told me that that was not the pick up area (even though the sign says so!!!!)!!

Great food and great hospitality! The guests were even able to go back for seconds and we got to keep the leftovers which fed us for a week! The guests were very happy with their meals.

Leslianne was awesome to work with! She went above and beyond making sure my reception was beautiful!!! She was so easy to work with and her staff was on top of everything that night!! The food was AMAZING and all of my guests raved about it!!! I will definitely use Old Carolina to cater in the future and recommend them to anyone!!!
