I must have had a new question or request every week and she always responded so quickly (even when she was on vacation in Florida!). The food was absolutely delicious! We were able to taste the menu beforehand and just fell in love. I highly recommend the coconut shrimp and pork meatballs (Michelle’s own recipe that she gave to the venue!). My husband is celiac and they were able to cater to his dietary needs without any issue whatsoever. No nasty gluten-free replacements here! I had so many last minute little changes (arriving late to set up, adding a photo booth then canceling said photo booth, messing up the guest list and table numbers) and they handled everything seamlessly. Also….on our actual wedding day we were treated like absolute royalty. Diane, the coordinator, is the kindest most efficient woman alive. I was absolutely starving when we were taking pictures. Diane brought us multiple plates of appetizers, water, and drinks from the bar. When we were taking pictures on the course, I was freezing in my dress and she let me warm up between pics in a separate room, made sure I was comfortable, fed, and had a place to sit down. As for the venue itself….. GORGEOUS! Our guests didn’t stop talking about how rustic and beautiful it was. There is a huge view of the golf course that catches the prettiest sunset light (perfect for photos. That’s where we did ours!) The mahogany bar makes you feel like you’re in a classy European cigar lounge. And did I mention the drinks themselves? I’m pretty picky about my mixed drinks but I was not disappointed once all night. Honestly I could continue on for pages. If you’re on the fence about Old Hickory, let this be your sign! Just book it! You expectations will not be met, they’ll be SURPASSED. And to Michelle and Diane, thank you for all your work in giving us the best wedding day we could have asked for!

The location is beautiful and breathtaking and the food was phenomenal! It rained on the day of our wedding so we instantly switched to "plan B" and it worked out perfect. However, as great and as beautiful the venue was, we were even more blown away by the outstanding level of service that we received. Every interaction we had with the folks at Old Hickory demonstrated how helpful, flexible, and on top of things they were. Specifically we'd like to highlight Michelle and Diane. Every step of the way Michelle made things so so easy. She went out of her way to listen to and understand our requests to make them a reality, and ensure that we had the wedding of our dreams. It was some of the best service we have ever received and we cannot sing her praises enough. One specific example relates to our wine selection. Our families are huge wine drinkers and we had a number of special requests. Even though they were not part of the usual package, Michelle worked to get us what we needed and even got one of our favorite wines! Michelle was always there answer questions and to make sure things went smoothly, including suggesting some things she had seen that worked best in the past (many times things we didn't even think about yet!). It took out so much stress from the planning and day of knowing that we had someone as capable as Michelle making sure everything was going smoothly. Diane was there the day of the wedding and went above and beyond to help us, including driving us between two different picture sites since it was a little rainy. We were in such good hands with her! Finally, we have to mention the food. Oh my God the food. It was AMAZING. Our families, in addition to loving wine, love food, and they could not stop RAVING about how great it was, which is high praise indeed. Pick Old Hickory, you won't regret it!

ator, went above and beyond helping us prepare and helping our admittedly over-engineered plan go off with no real hitch. Our meetings with both of them in advance were pleasant, productive, and painless. For example, they had no problem letting us do an open bar that converted to cash after a $1,000 tab was reached (a great idea we got from the planner at nearby Bristow Manor Golf Club since most of our guests were light drinkers). When things did shuffle in the moment, Diane was flexible and responsive to our requests. We definitely felt catered to, which is important since the reception venue is easily the most expensive item in most wedding plans. The food was excellent -- which we put a lot of weight on -- including magically pillowy mashed potatoes and the most delicious pork loin known to man. The hall was spacious and clean for our ~170 guests (as were the bathrooms). Michelle skillfully helped us arrange the dining tables, DJ booth, cake table, dance floor, etc. We used the nearby gazebo for our wedding party shots and the golf course proved to be the ideal sunset photo set. Diane made sure we both had food to nibble on and plenty of water the day of, which makes all the difference in the world. We did not interact much with the staff, but they all seemed professional and experienced. By the nature of these things, it was a lot of money, but we feel we got our money's worth.

le catered to our needs by providing us with options for Cocktail Hour appetizers and outside Catering. It would be the first time the club allowed a Chinese/Asian Style Banquet Catering reception. We were nervous going in but Michelle and Diane worked with our Vendors and made it all happen. During the days leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day, Diane was absolutely amazing. She helped us set up tables, she assisted us with any questions we had regarding structural needs and she made sure the entire bridal party enjoyed their experience. Diane coordinated the pre-wedding photo shoot in which we got a great tour of the venue via golf carts. During the entire time she made sure we had drinks and food readily available keeping us fresh, full and hydrated for the long day. Overall, the whole reception exceeded our expectations, our guests were extremely satisfied, and everyone had a great time. We had a blast and would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a place in the area.

It was great that the Old Hickory had an outdoor covered porch area that allowed us to still have our wedding outside and be able to accommodate all our guest - approximately 125. The exterior and interior of the Old Hickory is beautiful and the reason why we wanted to have our special day there. We’re so grateful to Michelle and Diane, the day of coordinator, for all their hard work. Diane made the ceremony space and reception space look amazing. We’re planning to go back for lunch or dinner because the food was just that good :-) . If you choose this location, you won’t be disappointed.

You can tell they have both been doing this for years. The waiters, waitresses, and bartenders at Old Hickory were simply fantastic. They were full of energy and enjoyable people to be around. Everyone really worked together like a well-oiled machine. Both the ceremony and wedding were flawless! Diane Bernbaum, the Old Hickory Wedding Coordinator, was outstanding. The availability of the space on the day of the wedding made everything flow stress-free from the decorations, bridal party getting dressed (make-up & hair), and taking pictures early. Taking pictures early allowed for the bride, groom, and bridal party to join the cocktail hour. The result was an amazing time for all; what a way to bring in the New Year! People are still talking about the wedding and it’s a month after the event! After our big night, we came back the next day and everything was ready and waiting for us to pack up; we weren't expecting that. Thanks Old Hickory, you made living in this community for 12 years a beautiful thing. As a wedding venue we couldn't fault anything. The food was out of this world all of our guests commented on the quality of food on offer & the bartenders were great! The venue played a huge part in the success of our weekend and the amount of our guests who are still talking about your venue is testament to that. I highly recommend Old Hickory! Tables, linens, catering, bar, venue rental and day-of coordination were all included in the wedding package. They have recently redone their floor, so no more dated carpet. They have covered area large enough to serve as a back-up ceremony are in case of inclement weather. This venue is beautiful in the fall. Cons: The dated cocktail area has mounted animal heads on the wall, which counters the modern looking banquet area. Old Hickory should update its bar area to match its other improvements.

Michelle and Diane are amazing- from the original day we met Michelle she walked us through everything and answered all my questions and gave me good advice throughout the process. She made me feel so calm and confident that they would take care of everything. Diane was there the entire day, helping me keep my photographer and bridal party on time and making sure the everything was going well for me. The day went smoothly thanks to both of them. The food was delicious, we did a tasting before and loved it, but were even happier the day of. They do everything -food, alcohol, rentals, open bar,day of coordinating- just perfect to make me not worry! Our guests complimented Michelle, Diane, the food and the beautiful venue over and over agian. They have amazing bridges and places to take pictures. I would recomend Old Hickory 100%. They are fantastic!

he kept a list of all of the vendors and contacted them before the event to ensure that everything was in order. The service that evening was superb. A plated dinner was served to 73 guests and everyone was eating at the same time. It was done with such ease. The price was very reasonable for an upscale presentation!

months before our wedding. The replacement was much better with communication and organization, although she was learning how to run things here. A week before the wedding, we were advised that the arch that we originally planned to use had been thrown away by the old coordinator. They had a different one there which we decided to use. On the evening before the wedding, my sister and I went to the club to decorate the arch. It had not been cleaned and had bird poop all over it. The staff did attempt to clean it while we were there, but it was too wet and cold to drape tulle on and we gave up. We decided to use the arch provided by the florist. Also, that night, we realized that the gold damask napkins we ordered were not there and the caterer was folding ugly white napkins. I went into panic mode, but the chef made a few calls and we had gold napkins on the day of (although they were not the pattern we ordered), but the change definitely made a difference. On the day of the wedding, of course things were a little crazy. The bridal suite was full of hangers, vases, fake flower arrangements, and misc items, and the floor had not been vacuumed. The coordinator moved some of the items, but we were still cramped for space. The suite is very small, so I would not advise getting ready here if there is a large party. Earlier this week, I called to speak to our coordinator about getting a refund for the arch we did not use. I found out that the second coordinator no longer worked there. Go figure. Anyway, I got my refund. My overall experience would have been 3 stars, but our guests really enjoyed themselves, loved the place and the food, so I am giving an extra star.
