Old Lystra Inn was the best decision we ever made! If you are a nature lover and are looking for that fairy tale tranquil wedding day ambience, this is your venue. Not only is the property gorgeous, spacious, and versatile, but it is owned by the most incredible hosts. They were quick to respond to any questions during our planning and made every effort to be flexible when needed. They are some of the friendliest people and genuinely care to make your wedding day special and perfect. I cannot recommend this venue enough!
We cannot recommend the Old Lystra Inn enough; they are the perfect venue run by the best people! After a series of COVID-related venue disasters, we were desperate to find a venue only a few months before our wedding. Beth and Tony at the Old Lystra Inn were there for us. They were helpful, kind, and supportive through the entire process. The house and grounds could not be more beautiful and getting to spend time there with our wedding party the day of was so relaxing and fun. Our guests loved the space and Tony and Beth were the most accommodating, generous hosts we could have asked for. We can never thank them enough. Everyone should get married at the Old Lystra Inn!
We had an excellent experience with the Pendola's at my daughter's wedding the first of July. They met with us several times at our convenience as my daughter and I were both out of state and trying to arrange the event in 5 months. Old Lystra is a beautiful restored historical inn with a fabulous tent and outdoor lawns. They gave several suggestions which helped us in making long distance decisions. Our event was small with 65 guests but they treated everyone with smiles and respect.
Beautiful wedding venue and beautiful kind people that run the wedding venue. I am hoping that all three of my children will get married there!
As an advertising photographer I travel the country shooting for clients from Mt Washington in New Hampshire to Monterey Peninsula CC in CA and all of these places host weddings. Few though have the charm and appeal of Old Lystra Inn- and try as these places may they will never have the intimate attention that you get from the owners and staff at Old Lystra Inn. I have seen this first hand at Old Lystra Inn and I would recommend it heartily for any couple looking for a truly unique venue.
Hands down one of the loveliest venues I have been to. Tony and Beth Pendola have created the perfect blend of rustic, beauty, and class. They really take the time to get to know you and make you feel like family. Your wedding and the vision you have truly matter. Not to mention the VALUE you receive. You will not be disappointed with Old Lystra Inn. I hope I can attend more events here!
Such a lovely venue filled with many special touches and wonderful historic details. The owners, Tony & Beth, are kind and thoughtful and work so hard to make your time there special.
I attended a graduation party at this venue and loved it. Attention to detail was incredible, and it was spotlessly clean. Staff were extremely helpful with setting up the cake and other items I had brought. If I ever need to host a formal gathering, this is the spot I'll choose.
I could not speak more highly of the Old Lystra Inn. This venue far exceeded our expectations and truly made our wedding day unforgettable. The property consists of a beautiful historic home located just minutes from downtown Chapel Hill. We had guests from all over the world who loved the selection of hotels nearby. The home is perfectly decorated and impeccably clean. And the outdoor landscape is just as classic and timeless as the home itself.
What really set this venue apart is the family who owns it. The Pendola family is professional, personable, and truly treated us like family. They were consistently available to answer any questions by phone or email and hosted us for tea and coffee on multiple occasions to help us prepare. Another thing that sets the Old Lystra Inn apart is the ability to choose all of your own vendors. We loved being able to choose the caterer, DJ, etc. So many other venues restrict you to a list of very expensive vendors. In addition, amenities that normally costs thousands of dollars (tent, chairs, linens, etc) were all included.
As many brides anxiously anticipate the weather on their wedding day, I was hoping and praying for clear skies. I never thought I would say it, but I love that it poured rain on our wedding day. The ceremony and reception inside the tent was elegant and simply stunning. And the photos taken outdoors with umbrellas are my absolute favorite. Rain or shine, this venue is incredibly romantic and captivating.
Looking back, we would not change a single aspect of this venue and highly recommend it without a single reservation.
