🏰 The Perfect Venue for Our Big Day! 💍
We are beyond thrilled with our choice of Old Sugar Mill for our wedding! From the moment we walked in, we knew it was the place we wanted...
to say “I do.” The venue itself is absolutely stunning — the charm of the building, the gorgeous outdoor spaces, and the overall vibe made our day feel truly magical. Every corner of Old Sugar Mill was picture-perfect, and it set the tone for an unforgettable celebration.
The team at Old Sugar Mill was amazing. They were so easy to work with, super organized, and took care of every detail, making sure everything ran smoothly. On the big day, we didn’t have to worry about a thing — they handled all the logistics and made sure everything was in place so we could just enjoy the moment.
We also purchased our wine through Draconis and Clarksburg Wine Company at the Old Sugar Mill for our wedding guests to enjoy. We had many out-of-state guests, and they absolutely loved the wine! It was a great way to showcase local flavors and add a special touch to our celebration.
Our guests were blown away by the venue. Whether it was the gorgeous outdoor area for the ceremony or the beautiful indoor space for the reception, it was all just perfect. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet elegant, and the photos turned out absolutely stunning with such a beautiful backdrop.
If you’re looking for a venue that combines charm, stunning views, and an easy-going vibe, Old Sugar Mill is the place. Thank you for helping make our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more!
We are *so* glad we booked Old Sugar Mill for our October wedding! The space is gorgeous with beautiful interior and exterior locations. We originally planned for our ceremony to b...
e outdoors on the lawn but with the October heat wave, we pivoted to indoors in the gallery and made this decision just the night before. OSM easily accommodated this change. The arch against the glass windows was the perfect background and the AC kept our guests cool. We held our cocktail hour outdoors on the patio and the reception in the classic boiler room. We heard from our guests that moving from space to space added to the magic and excitement of the day. The string lights around the property were incredible at night! I will note we had quite a few mosquitos outdoors during cocktail hour. This isn’t OSM’s fault but something to keep in mind if you are outdoors during dusk!
A few other things:
- OSM provides a day-of coordinator. This service and our coordinator was amazing. So grateful for this included service.
- They have a list of preferred vendors for catering and DJ. You have to use one of the full service caterers listed. I found this list helpful but if you are set on specific vendors, you may feel restricted.
- You must purchase wine from OSM to serve at your wedding. We loved this! You get to enjoy a free wine tasting before the wedding to pick it out. The tasting was such a fun date for me and my now husband!
- OSM has several rentals to choose from which reduced the number of single-use items (wedding arch, table clothes, etc) that we needed to buy. This was awesome!
We had such an incredible experience with OSM and we highly recommend!
OSM went above and beyond. The venue’s coordination team (esp Amy) was phenomenal from start to finish. The venue itself is gorgeous and completely different and unique from the us...
ual cookie cutter wedding venue. They have reasonable wedding packages with all that you’ll need, outstanding preferred/recommended vendors and it was an absolute pleasure to have our wedding there… we’re so sad it’s over!
The venue is absolutely gorgeous and I was excited to learn that a day-of coordinator would be included in our wedding package! However, in hindsight, I would have booked elsewhere...
and/or asked for a different coordinator. There are so many rules and restrictions associated with this venue and my day-of coordinator was more of a policing agent then a coordinator, and she seemed so disinterested and unconcerned with me and my wedding. I am not sure if she just didn’t like me, but I would have loved to have a coordinator who WANTED to be involved with my big day, rather than someone who always appeared so irritated. There is no AC in the boiler room, so only plan to have your reception in this room when weather permits. The AC in the gallery can barely be felt during a 200-person ceremony so my guests suffered. Purchasing the required 4 cases of wine added an additional $1000 to our final total, so be mindful of that. You must exit the bridal suite prior to the start of the reception, so we had to vacate during cocktail hour, meaning my dress-change and hair touch-up took place in the same bathrooms that my guests were using. We had to clear out the entire venue within 30 minutes of our wedding ending. Other venues I toured allowed for next-day pick up. For the amount of money we spent, I expected better but once again, the venue is absolutely gorgeous.
I knew from the moment I stepped onto the property that I wanted to hold my wedding here. It is absolutely beautiful all year long. And I’m so glad I did, because the whole process...
was smooth and wonderful! Rachelle is a literal rockstar and was so helpful, supportive, and kind from day 1 to the big day to afterwards! I love that my family can always visit the place we got married. Highly recommend!
Folks, if you are looking for a really cool venue with outstanding event planners, it’s going to be very difficult to do better than The Old Sugar Mill!
We selected The Old Sugar...
Mill almost as soon as we got our eyes on the building! We contacted the venue administrative office at (OSM) and then Rachelle and her team took over from there. We brought our wishes and suggestions to the table, and OSM guided us, gently steered us when we would try to do something problematic, and really helped us shape the wedding nicely.
Rachelle Wiggins was our lead coordinator, and she is simply fantastic to work with. In fact, we nicknamed her “The Master Mind”. Terrific personality, and her attitude has cool calmness that exudes confidence yet is nothing less than professional, and willing to work hard to make the day special for all involved, especially the bride and groom. We did an initial meeting with Rachelle, and she brought tons of ideas, vendors, and suggestions that worked so well with the venue and what we wanted in our wedding.
A special shout out goes to the entire team at OSM as well as their list of preferred ventures. Rachelle handled the onsite duties on the day of the wedding, and she was amazing. In fact, Rachelle handled everything expertly.
In summary, EVERYTHING worked great with Old Sugar Mill. We would hire them again in a heart beat for ANY event.
One Love
Where do we begin? We are so grateful for our Wedding Coordinator, Amy McGee, and all the efforts that she put into making our wedding day special. From our first meeting we felt a...
bond with Amy, and knew she needed to be part of our wedding day. Her blend of a personal and professional approach is amazing and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. We had a tragic event during our wedding planning process, and her respect and acknowledgement of the passing of Kenny’s father was not unnoticed, and was greatly appreciated. Her patience with Darcy’s crazy planning OCD and control was admirable.
We miss chatting with her, and hope to see her soon!
Cheers!

I recently had my wedding at the Old Sugar Mill and it was everything I could have dreamed of and more. Rachelle was our coordinator and she was so helpful during the entire weddin...
g planning process. Rachelle was efficient and responded quickly to all my questions, concerns, and wild ideas. Everything ran smoothly on our wedding day because of Rachelle and the entire Old Sugar Mill Team.
For our wedding venue, we wanted it to feel rustic, ethereal, airy, and romantic. The Old Sugar Mill really hit all our bullet points and all our guests really loved the venue. The Boiler Room is absolutely stunning with it's elevated brick walls and whimsical Christmas lights. We couldn't have asked for anything better.
Living in the Bay Area, we found the Old Sugar Mill prices to be quite reasonable especially since they offer the gold chargers, linens, chairs, tables, etc as part of the package. Some venues would require you to rent these items separately using a rental company and the prices can really add up! I felt fortunate that the Old Sugar Mill was able to provide us with so much with the package we booked. It gave us less things to worry about.
Book the Old Sugar Mill. You can't go wrong!
We had the most incredible wedding at Old Sugar Mill!! Our guests are still raving about it. The venue is stunning and allows you access to multiple spaces for your wedding day. No...
t only is the space beautiful and unique, but the staff and wedding team are incredible. They make you feel special, listen to your requests, and are so helpful. Our day-of coordinator, Daisy, was particularly impressive. She made the day go so smoothy. I never had to worry about a single detail and was able to just enjoy the day and have fun. Daisy was responsive, detail oriented, and organized. She worked with all of our vendors to make sure everything was executed perfectly. This is a fantastic venue for larger guest lists as well. Highly recommend OSM! “Best wedding ever!” was something we heard from our guests. We are somewhat reserved people and somehow we will now be forever associated with a good time by our guests. Everyone ...
loved the venue and had a great time. We can’t stop hearing about it! Haha. However, we have to give credit to the Old Sugar Mill staff who held our hand throughout the wedding planning process and helped create an incredible and memorable special day.
They obviously have done this before and their experience helped make the process feel easy. Not to mention we felt like they were committed to making sure we had an incredible day. We know that this was a busy year for weddings and we were one of many couples getting married in the Fall of 2021, but we definitely felt like their hearts and attention were with us when we worked with them.
Rachelle was essential and helped us throughout the months before our special day to develop a timeline of the wedding and help us coordinate with the vendors and help us stay on track of getting things done on time. (Note: we definitely recommend using their recommended vendors!). We loved that we had a lot of freedom for how our day would go and we definitely took advantage of that freedom. We appreciated her patience and suggestions because there were several decisions that we had difficulty making until close to the wedding day.
We are also so grateful to Christy, Amy, and the rest of the Old Sugar Mill staff for setting up and creating a beautiful and memorable event. We were amazed at how incredible everything turned out that night and thought that it turned out better than we imagined.
We chose wisely to go with the Old Sugar Mill for our wedding. The praises we still get from our guests speak for themselves.
My husband and I just got married at the Old Sugar Mill on 11/5/21 & it was the most MAGICAL evening. It was everything I could've wanted and more! A special thank you to Rachelle ...
Wiggins, our coordinator, for her professionalism and efficiency throughout the whole process ~ especially the wedding day! She answered any question I had leading up to the wedding immediately and was very attentive to our needs. My wedding guests are still talking about the amazing venue & how fun the night was! Thank you Old Sugar Mill, you will always be such a special place for my husband and I. We can't to make it a regular date spot for wine tasting!
Getting Married at the Old Sugar Mill = Wedding Dreams Coming True!!
Rachelle, Christy and team at the Old Sugar Mill where such a pleasure to work with. Their professionalism an...
d dedication were outstanding. Their genuine energy and deep love for what they do showed from the very first phone call to the day of the wedding. Rachelle’s ability to really listen to what we wanted our special day to be and then to take what we said and bring it to fruition was absolute perfection. Planning a wedding can be stressful enough but planning a wedding during a pandemic?! Kinda crazy! The team at the Old Sugar Mill made the whole process feel seamless! It’s was like working with best friends and when the wedding was over I missed them all so much! We have received so many compliments on the venue and have been told that it’s was the best wedding people had been too. If we could give Rachelle and team a million stars, we would do so without blinking an eye. Five is just not enough to rate how amazing this group of people are! From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You…….for everything!
This is such a beautiful venue for a wedding. We had our guests sitting in the gallery area and overall, it did fit close to 190 people, but the dance floor was a little small. We ...
decided to add the bistro lighting and it just added to the ambiance. Packages are a bit pricey but the venue really is “Pinterest Worthy.”
The event staff was responsive and very professional. Everytime we had a question or a concern, there was always someone who could respond via HoneyBook. They were very flexible on how we envisioned our cocktail/dinner set up. There was also a moment when my feet were hurting and they allowed me and the wedding party to sit in the Bridal Room even though it was past our time!
One thing we had to keep reminding ourselves throughout planning was that this is a business and our wedding to them wasn’t as special as any other event they had. There was some communication issues with our DJ coming onsite for a walkthrough and issues with the preferred venue set up. Overall, they completed our event based only on what is in the contract.
We still appreciated the time and will still be coming back to the venue for various wine tastings!
My husband and I got married in late September at the Old Sugar Mill and we had such a wonderful night! Our guests are still raving about how gorgeous the venue was and say it's on...
e of the most beautiful wedding venues they've ever been to. We booked the space just a little over a year before our wedding date and at that time they only had two Saturdays left. I would say if you're thinking of getting married here, don't hesitate because they book up quickly!
We had our ceremony on the lawn and the reception in the boiler room which I would recommend. The week before, it was looking like there was a small chance it might rain so it was great that the OSM has alternate space for the ceremony as a back up plan. It's so helpful that the Old Sugar Mill supplies a lot of the items for your wedding like the tables, linens, chairs, and ceremony arch but you do have to use someone on their preferred vendor list for catering if you don't want to pay an extra fee. (We went with Hannibal's which I highly recommend). It was also great that you get a coordinator to help you with a lot of the logistics. We worked with Daisy who was so great! I plan corporate events as a Marketer so I was a little worried about everything coming together while I was busy getting ready for the wedding but it turned out to be flawless! I didn't stress at all the day before or the day of because I knew Daisy and her team had everything handled.
There are a few things to note about having your wedding at the Old Sugar Mill but it doesn't affect my 5 star rating. The tasting rooms are open to the public until 5pm so the earliest our ceremony could start was 6pm. Since we got married in late September, the sun set around 6:30pm so we had to rush from our ceremony to get our sunset photos as soon as possible. It was also difficult for some of our elderly guests because dinner wasn't served until 7:30pm and they were ready to go home around 8:30pm. The other thing to note is that you will have to pay extra for the lower bistro lights in the Boiler Room. Most of the photos show the space with the lights but they do charge an extra $500 to get them installed.
We had such an amazing wedding and I wish we could relive it again!

s what dreams are made of. The staff at Old Sugar Mill are friendly, super professional, and very helpful. I will note that there are some challenges with the venue (quick turnaround from an active winery to wedding ceremony space, no kitchen or potable water) and there is a limited number of vendors you can use. That said, the OSM staff are super communicative about what is possible during the prep window, they’ll do everything they can to accommodate your vision, and the vendors they recommend are the best (we loved all of our vendors who are listed below). We also purchased the cabernet package, which gave us access to the entire space - totally worth having all the spaces to ourselves (you’re permitted three spaces in total, but you don’t have to worry about sharing the space with another couple or event). We would highly recommend getting married at the Old Sugar Mill - between the gorgeous space inside and outside and the awesome, friendly and helpful staff, it really was our dream venue.

ut! My only critic is that the coordinator/assistants did not set up the tables as I had specified multiple times, but this a minor detail compared to everything else they did well.
The Old Sugar Mill is a stunning and unique historical venue and we loved everything about our wedding there! The industrial architecture and relaxed atmosphere are magical. Anyone...
planning a wedding with a larger guest count knows how difficult it can be to find large venues that don’t sacrifice on charm and personality. But the Old Sugar Mill has it all—beautiful exposed brick, high ceilings, bistro lights hanging throughout, and of course lots and lots of space! The packages offered at the time we booked our wedding were the best we’ve seen out there; they come with everything you’d need, including tables, chairs, chargers, arches, etc. We chose the top-tier package because we wanted exclusive use of the venue for the night and the ability to really make use of all of the different areas. One overlooked area that I appreciated was the bridal suite. My bridal party and family ended up spending most of the day there as we got ready and relaxed and it was such a lovely and comfortable space! You can tell someone put a lot of thought into decorating the space. There was plenty of plush seating, mirrors, and natural lighting which made for some really dreamy photos. Another highlight is the vineyard across the street that is available for taking bridal party pictures in. While you are required to purchase your wine from the Old Sugar Mill wineries there are over a dozen wineries to choose from that all offer wine in a variety of price ranges and styles. We both enjoy wine and wine tasting so we had a blast visiting the wineries leading up to the wedding and building our wine menu. They do allow outside beer and liquor for weddings which was a huge plus. Most importantly, I can’t say enough great things about our planner/coordinator Rachelle and her dream team!! In addition to the day of coordination, the top-tier package also came with wedding planning services. If it’s in your budget and you’re wondering if it’s worth it, it absolutely is! Rachelle checked in with me often to go over wedding details and keep us on track from the moment we booked our date. All of the extra meetings helped us get to know each other and meant that we were well acquainted with the timeline and everything we needed to do. Rachelle always had lots of great local vendor recommendations which is super helpful when you don’t live in the immediate area. After we dropped off all of the decorations and supplies the day before the wedding I kept worrying that I didn’t organize the boxes well enough or didn’t supply enough mock up photos. However, everything was set up so beautifully on the day of by Rachelle and her team; it was actually better than I imagined! Rachelle did such a good job coordinating on the day of that we were able to focus fully on just enjoying the moment without needing to worry about anything. That alone was priceless to us. Our guests even remarked on how relaxed we were and how much fun we were having at our own wedding. Anyone who’s had a wedding of their own knows how rare that can be and we owe it all to Rachelle!
This is the ideal place for an outdoor picturesque wedding! Rachelle, Jocelyn, and their team did everything in their power to make my wedding dream come true. They worked with me ...
from the day we chose the venue until the big day to make sure everything went perfectly and smoothly. I highly recommend this venue for weddings and receptions.
I struggled to decide whether to put two or three stars, so I just caution anyone considering to book them to be wary. We paid for the highest cost package to try to beef up the s...
ervices and minimize our wedding stress, but unfortunately the entire process was very stressful.
1) The venue is gorgeous and probably worth all of the stress and $$$$. We received many compliments and the look of our wedding was beautiful, charming, and welcoming.
2) We had a coordinator who helped keep us on track before the wedding and was supposed to coordinate day-of. We had soooo much stress the day of. There were rules about the venue that she brought to my attention the week before the wedding. The day before the wedding, she emailed me to bring stuff to set up, but I've never had a wedding before and had no idea what to bring. On the day of the wedding, my husband was running around like crazy directing people when he should have been relaxing (because we paid for the coordinator). I'm not sure if her "coordinating" didn't officially start until the wedding ceremony, but that's what it felt like. My friends and family separately mentioned that coordinator "seemed like she didn't want to be there" and "had an attitude." I'll admit that we didn't have our stuff together, but this isn't her first wedding and I think she could have helped make things go a lot smoother. My biggest problem was that she let my family come out and watch us take pictures before the wedding, and I feel like with all of the staff they were supposed to have, they could have kept them from coming out there.
3) The staff. My family brought all of the decorations, I gave the coordinator pictures of our "test" table, then the staff set the tables wrong. Luckily, family checked on them and mentioned it to the staff, only to have the staff tell them that they weren't going to fix them. My sister-in-law and cousin were late to the ceremony because they were fixing the tables!
I loved my beautiful wedding, I loved the reveal they planned for when I walked out in front of my friends and family, and I'm glad that Rachelle kept things moving on time throughout the day. I'm sure she did a lot of things that I'm not aware of to make everything work, but I can't help but be disappointed at the many problems.
We decided to go with a different venue. The packages are very expensive for not a lot included, and the venue doesn't seem able to be flexible on anything in the packages (unless ...
it's adding additional costs). In addition we weren't able to get pricing info for the wine packages you are required to use (you won't know that cost until after booking the venue, which is impractical when trying to create a budget) which also played into our decision to go with another venue.
The reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the venue is beautiful, if a budgeting isn't an issue it will probably work great.
The Old Sugar Mill did an amazing job. Their packages are great and come with so many of the essentials (ex: tables/chairs, linens, set up/break down, wedding coordinator/planner, ...
security, etc...) Our coordinator Lindsey did an amazing job, and we never felt like we had to worry about anything. They provide a list of their preferred caterers to choose from, and there is a wide range of places/price ranges. You have to buy your wine through one or several of the wineries at the Old Sugar Mill, which seemed like it could get costly at the time, but all the places were great about setting up times for us to come in and taste, and most gave a good discount for cases bought.
Old Sugar Mill was amazing! I cannot say enough great things about this venue. My original wedding venue got shut down by the county the week before my wedding date and OSM was abl...
e to help me out. They were life savers. Cayenne and her team were so helpful and accommodating! They were easy to get a hold of which was really important to me as a bride. The venue is beautiful so it was hard not to fall in love with everything. They offer a lot of stuff with their wedding packages so it makes planning your wedding a breeze. I would have loved to take advantage of everything they offered but with my last venue getting closed down a week before I didn't get the pleasure of using some of them. I know if I had the time I definitely would have.
My wedding turned out even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! Thank you OSM!
We booked the old sugar mill after looking at pictures online, since we were an out of state couple and couldn't make it to California to look at venues in person. After the first ...
visit, we were not disappointed one bit! Marnie and Krista were nothing short of exceptional when it came to communicating with us and making sure our wedding day was flawless. We got so many compliments on the venue and the staff! We couldn't have asked for a better location and a better team to work with! We can't wait to go back and visit next time we're in California!
It is a beautiful site. We didn't need to do much decorations. Krista was wonderful to work with.
The Old Sugar mill was an absolutely magical venue. The staff is so amazing and my wedding was perfect!
Best place to get married!! They were wonderful to work with :)

n't believe how reasonable the price was compared to the "wedding factories" we had been looking at!! Their event coordinator, Marnie, was a pleasure to work with... great ideas, and great little touches on our wedding day. We had our ceremony in the barrel room, and our reception in the gallery. Both rooms were setup beautifully! Carvalho wines can't be beat either... we're still receiving compliments, and now we serve their wine at every family dinner! If you are looking for a truly unique venue look no further than Old Sugar Mill!!
I recently got married at the Old Sugar Mill and it was a very pleasent experience. Not only is the building beautiful but Marnie, the event coordinator, was very helpful, sweet an...
d accomidating. I also thought it was a very affordable venue compaired to others we looked at. Would recomend this to anyone in the greater Sacramento area looking for a rustic yet elegant venue.
It was very romantic and unique. Rows and Rows of wine barrels are so pretty and the lighting really set the mood. The wine by Carvahlo Wines was great. Everything was beautiful a...
nd perfect!!;If you have the ceremony indoors make sure you talk to your photographer about the lighting. It can be quite challenging. Also make sure everyone has a designated driver or a way home. The roads are narrow and very dark.
