We booked our wedding here a little under two years from our wedding date. My fiancé and I are still in school so we decided to plan our wedding early. 9 months later we get a call saying that they are canceling our wedding due to construction. For 9 months we have been planning our wedding with vendors in the area and now we are back at square one. Now with the pandemic happening it is hard to find venues and vendors available for that set date. Do not know why they would cancel weddings already planned to start construction.
We highly recommend this was an incredible experience. This vendor is extremely flexible and available to support along the way.
It is a beautiful and unique venue that the guests will love!
Old World Wisconsin provided the most uniquely beautiful wedding venue we could have asked for. The rustic barn, gorgeous landscaping and elegant yet relaxed atmosphere made our wedding truly feel like one of a kind. And on top of it all, the courteous staff at Old World was available for questions and concerns from the day we first inquired about the venue until we left on our wedding night! We were even able to rent a few small things (ceremony table, DJ table) hours before the wedding (sometimes you just don't realize what you'll need!) We are so happy that we chose to have our ceremony and reception at Old World Wisconsin!
We had a great experience with OWW. Bob was very helpful and reassuring whenever I had questions and was quite patient with me. Nancy helped me out a ton on the day of the wedding by driving my bridesmaids and me on a golf cart around the village to take pictures more quickly and efficiently! She also took pictures with her phone and thought to email me the photos immediately so I could have something to post to social media right away. So nice! The barn was beautiful!! The only downfall is that it was a tad hot and sticky that day and so the fans in the barn had to be on...which made a lot of noise and it made it hard to hear the music playing in the background. That was the only downfall! For me, it wasn't so upsetting that it made me enjoy my day less. Everything else was perfect! Very friendly staff and I had tons of fun! Definitely worth looking into this venue!
I was nervous knowing that I would not be able to get into this venue until the day of the wedding. My fears were justified. When we got there the place had not been cleaned from the event the night before! AND, no one was around to help. We just stood there awkwardly until someone showed up. Then, my wedding party had to clean the place so that we could decorate before we had to go to get ready for the wedding. It was disappointing since they seemed so with it leading up to my wedding. I do have to say that Amy, who was in charge of the beverage service, was great to work with and had great bartenders as well, and after we cleaned and decorated ourselves it did look very nice.
I love Old World and it was the perfect place to have our reception. We had our ceremony under a tent on the Visitor's Green, the cocktail reception on the Garden Patio, and dinner and dancing in the Clausing Barn. We liked that we were able to use the caterer of our choice. The bar options were very reasonable and varied. It was overall a beautiful venue. The Garden Patio was very warm due to lack of shade. We had a lot of issues with communication prior to the event. They're not good about replying to emails or voicemails. We also had planned to use the omnibus carriage, but that was canceled the day of the wedding. The headaches were minor compared to our overall happiness with the event and I can't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else.
We used the Clausing Barn for the reception, a tent on the green for the ceremony and the Garden Patio for Cocktail hour. Everything was perfect. Bob and Amy are so easy to work with and make sure your special day goes off without a hitch. We even used the horse/carriage for the brides entrance and it was a true "WOW" moment for our guests.
I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a barn or even laid back wedding venue.
I've always loved OWW since I was a little girl. So when I decided to go rustic for my wedding, these guys were high on my list.
Booking was a breeze and I was well taken care of, until about 2 months before my wedding.
I was informed that they decided not to renew the contract with the official catering company and would be taking over the bar services, but I had to call them to find out after my catering company informed me during my final order with them. This was 2 months before the wedding, when the change happened over 6 months before. The woman I spoke with said that I would have gotten a call 3-4 weeks before. I'm sorry....3 weeks? That isn't NEARLY enough time, I have so many other things going on at that mark. It happened 6 months ago, you should have told me 6 months ago.
I was then bounced between 3-4 contacts at OWW regarding my set-up, which services I did or did not want, linen colors, beverages, etc, etc, etc. Except that every person that I talked to had something different in the contract. I didn't see a final contract with the correct items on it until the day before my wedding, at my rehearsal. (This, mind you, included my beer and wine choices. Scary.) Every person I talked to told me something different, no one seemed to be on the same page. So any answers I got from the head coordinator I was told were completely different policies from how the girls who actually run things. I could have booked that tent I wanted in case of rain (which it poured, BTW) 6 days before my wedding like I wanted, whereas I was originally told I couldn't because I waited too long, it had to be booked 2 weeks in advance.
The entire situation after the inital booking was so frustrating. Was it beautiful? Oh goodness yes. The barn was incredible, most of the staff was friendly, the photos in the village turned out great. But the headache that came along with it almost ruined the whole thing. Thank goodness it was inexpensive and beautiful.
Loved, loved this venue!! It was so unique and beautiful!! The value was great for what we got!
Loved this barn the second i walked in. the staff/ catering manager were easy to work with. the food was yummy!
It maybe in the middle of no where, but the price and landscape was worth the ride. We had an amazing time and the setting fit us perfectly!
Our reception venue was beautiful. An octagonal red barn with lights cascading down from the ceiling inside. The perfect location for this outdoorsy couple.
