I can't gush enough about this team and their work! Honestly, Olivera made our wedding what it was. My husband and I were blown away with how they took an already beautiful wedding space to a whole other level and made it so "us." Sarah and Kristen provided florals for both our rehearsal dinner as well as our wedding. Collaborating with them was so much fun, and they made the process seamless. They took our vision, and elevated the final product beyond anything we could've imagined. We stressed to them that we trusted their expertise, and loved unique ideas, and they really showed up! For the ceremony space, Sarah suggested setting up the guest chairs in partial circle, so our family and friends were surrounding us, and hanging the floral installation above us in the center. It came together beautifully! We also expressed wanting something a little different than traditional corsages for our moms on the big day, and Olivera created two modern, floral gold cuffs for them. They turned out perfect, and our moms loved them! Sarah provided advice above and beyond the florals too and steered us in the right direction with the finer details that brought the overall color scheme together flawlessly (e.g., napkins and flatware that matched the taper candles and votives from Olivera). Sarah and Kristen are an incredibly talented team, and wonderful people! They went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect for us. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do and take pride in their work (when Sarah brought me my bouquet the day of the wedding, I couldn't tell if I was more excited or her! Haha). I can't stress enough how amazing Olivera is. We're so thankful for everything they did to make our day so special!

Once we settled on a Spring wedding we knew pretty immediately that we wanted to prioritize our florals - and that we specifically wanted to work with Olivera after seeing their gorgeous portfolio online and work on Instagram. Kristen made the process so easy from initial consultation to the final result. The proposal she put together nailed our vision, merging both of our desires and the final result totally exceeded our expectations. One of my favorite moment from our wedding day was when she presented me with my bridal bouquet as it was not only stunning but surreal. We have received so many compliments from our guests commenting that our flowers went way beyond what's typically expected at a wedding to works of art that were tied the decor and aesthetic of our day together. Couldn't recommend them enough!

Best vendor experience ever. Planning a wedding is a lot of work but Kristen and Sarah took so much off my plate and I am thankful for both of them! I talked to Kristen about my vision / design over Zoom and she was able to bring it to life! White flowers, greenery, classic, black tie, timeless. Everything was amazing and I couldn't have done it without the Olivera Team. Highly recommend for any of your floral needs in the Richmond / surrounding area!!!

Kristen and Sarah at Olivera Floral Design were a dream team to work with. They were completely open to fulfilling every part of my vision for my wedding and when the day came, the blew my expectations out of the water. From the flower arch we stood under as we exchanged our vows, to the stunning arrangements on the bar and exquisite center pieces, no detail was missed. I am a bride who loves flowers and when I saw what Olivera had to offer, I was impressed. After my first meeting with Kristen, I was even more excited. She was super organized, friendly and knowledgeable. Then COVID happened, and Kristen and Sarah weathered the storm with me. At the end of the day, through constant changes and shifts, the flowers were STUNNING!!!! Not only was I obsessed, I received compliment after compliment from guests regarding the flowers. I wish they could have lived forever but they will in the photos and it truly was just a perfect wedding, thanks to so many including Kristen and Sarah at Olivera!

The team brought my vision to life for our wedding day and were a dream to work with! When looking for vendors, they had the exact aesthetic I was looking for as I planned my reception details around the florals. When I had to change my wedding from spring to fall due to covid, they were right there to help pivot and the colors and palette turned out even better than I had imagined. They have amazing service from the selection and planning process to the day of. I couldn't have had a better experience and they truly were a huge part of what made our wedding perfect!

Florals; when it came to wedding planning, florals is where I just didn’t know where to start. After our initial phone call with Sarah at Olivera, we knew we were in good hands. She spent the time reviewing the initial inspiration board to better understand (and help us understand) what we did and did not like in regard to floral design. In describing our desire to incorporate a blend of summer and fall seasons; she knocked it out of the park with the color palette. As COVID 19 hit, she was flexible, understanding, and accommodating as we needed to make changes to the size and layout of the wedding. The end result was better than I could have imagined; between the arbor, bouquets, corsages, boutonnières, various centerpieces, and greenery accents, our venue was completely transformed. My mother (who loves florals and gardening) was blown away in amazement. Thank you Sarah and the Olivera Team!

I hired Olivera Floral Design for my small backyard wedding in August and am incredibly happy with the quality of service and absolutely gorgeous flowers I received. We ordered a wedding bouquet, a boutonniere, arch decoration, and some greenery and candles for our tables. Sarah was a pleasure to work with and really nailed the colorful wildflower look that I wanted. She and her assistant went out of their way on the day of our wedding to make our DIYed wedding arch look beautiful, and helped us style and set our tables. I can't recommend working with her enough!

I can’t thank Kristen and Sarah enough for all of their efforts in making our wedding day so special. We had to downsize our original plans due to COVID, and were coming in from out of town for a 10-person largely DIY backyard wedding. As such, we had to find a new local florist relatively last-minute, and Olivera Floral Design truly delivered. Even for such a small affair, Kristen and Sarah went above and beyond to make our at-home celebration gorgeous. Their floral design is incredible, and their thoughtfulness unmatched among the previous vendors I’d been working with elsewhere. Highly, highly recommend!

Working with Kristen and Sarah has been a dream. My fiance and I had a March 14th wedding, and we were in the very first wave of postponements due to the pandemic. The Olivera team was very understanding as we explored next steps. They have been willing to work with us throughout this very difficult process and we are so grateful for their flexibility and prompt communication! Before the Covid stuff hit, planning and coordinating for the big day with Olivera was easy and succinct. They are really passionate about flowers, and their enthusiasm is infectious. They are knowledgeable and can advise you off the top of their head regarding what blooms are are not in season, and even if the sizing is right for a bootineer. I came to Olivera with a-typical color palette for March in mind, and some more unique requests to get creative with my bridesmaids bouquets. Olivera was very supportive of me choosing whatever colors I wanted, and did some creative planning and staging around my bouquet ideas. They offered us reasonable prices and a personalized experience. We are so thrilled to be working with Olivera for our wedding!

Kristen and the Olivera team absolutely KILLED It on our wedding day. The pinterest that she pulled together looked good, but truthfully we really didn't know what the flowers would looked like. The flowers were INCREDIBLE - they were the most unbelievable surprise of the whole day and everyone kept commenting on how stunning they were. She totally brought our vision to life and the arch was honestly breathtaking. Not to mention, Kristen and her team were SO sweet and wonderful to work with, in addition to being professional, knowledgeable, and creative. 5/5 would recommend!

During my first call with Sarah, she said "I hope you can look back and say that flowers were the easiest part of wedding planning." That was absolutely the case. Proper Petal/Olivera perfectly captured my vision and ran with it. The flowers were stunning, and the mixture of candles and fresh flowers was magical. They managed 2 venues (a church ceremony, and the reception at The Mill at Fine Creek) and a 16-person bridal party without a single hitch. They were a joy to work with and I would recommend 1000 time over!

The ladies at Proper Petal were so great to work with, and were able to take my vision for a neutral, textural palette and turn it into the most stunning florals for the wedding party, ceremony, and reception. Working with them was a dream from beginning to end– I described what I was looking for, and they were very clear about pricing, and made a mood board that we discussed together at regular intervals ahead of the wedding. Their mood board broke down the florals into each part of the wedding day– bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony florals, centerpieces, sweetheart table, which was so helpful in my picturing all the elements together. Everyone that day, including the other vendors, raved about the flowers. They honestly brought the exact feel that I was going for– modern with a touch of bohemian, warm neutrals, tons of texture– to life. They are worth every penny!

From the first time I saw photos of their work, I fell in love. You can tell that these ladies are real artists with their craft, and can create such dynamic arrangements that reflect a wide variety of styles. Sarah was such a pleasure to work with, and she took lots of time and care to respond to all of my emails and meet several times over coffee to discuss all the details and "feel" we were going for. From the beginning of planning, I had a good sense of the palette I wanted (navy and dusty blue with pops of sunset colors), but not much else in terms of flower type or look. Sarah took my description and palette and ran with it, and I was blown away day of. The colors came together perfectly, and really popped against our blue linens. So so pretty. Above all, they are kind, compassionate, and flexible. When we needed to reschedule our wedding due to Hurricane Florence, they were understanding and found space for us in their schedule for our "re-do." And a few weeks before the wedding, when I couldn't decide if I wanted florals in my hair, Sarah provided a few different options for me to decide in the moment - Which was perfect, as my bridesmaids scooped up whatever I didn't choose. They are just the best! I am in awe of what this two-woman team is able to accomplish (though I'm not surprised - they are awesome!).

The Proper Petal is absolutely fantastic and a must have for your wedding or event! Kristen and the team were incredibly friendly and patient with my scatterbrained ideas, keeping me organized with a really helpful Pinterest board. They were able to take all of my thoughts and pull them together to create the most beautiful and creative floral arrangements I’ve ever seen, all while keeping to a reasonable budget! They did a lot of setup in a very short amount of time that they had access in the venue, never seemed stressed about it, and were incredibly professional. All of my friends and family continue to talk about the flowers months later. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Richmond area, you can’t go wrong!

Choosing a florist was very important to me when selecting vendors for our wedding. Flowers add such a beautiful touch to your overall decor and I knew I had to choose a great one. My wedding planner and I worked with Sarah to make my husband and I's vision come to life. From the bouquets to the ceremony and reception floral arrangements, each was so beautifully made. Sarah was so wonderful to work with. My dad asked if she could wrap my bouquet as well as my bridesmaids and the men's boutonnieres in my mother's wedding dress. She dyed the fabric to match perfectly with the florals. This was something extremely special to me as a bride and I couldn't be more thankful for her doing that for us. I cannot say enough great things about The Proper Petal. They create absolutely beautiful arrangements, are great to work with, and are nice and kind. I highly recommend them for your wedding day!

Kristen at Proper Petal transformed our event into a magical fairytale and we were amazed at her artistic talent! Her talent far exceeded our expectations. Kristen was also a true delight to work with. She is so kind, and gives wonderful attention to detail and took great effort to understand our vision. Of every vendor we worked with, Kristen receives my highest recommendation because she has the ability to take any idea and make it even more beautiful than you could imagine, and she can transform any space into whatever you could dream of. My daughter got married last month at Westover Plantation, and she wanted every detail to be perfect. Kristin at The Proper Petal spent so much time making sure she understood exactly what Alex wanted - creating Pinterest boards and providing feedback on every detail. She even worked to make sure we were able to stay in our budget but still have absolutely beautiful florals. The table flowers were beautiful, as were the garlands....but the bouquets - WOW! My daughter's was absolutely gorgeous and exactly what she wanted. Highly recommend the team at Proper Petal for any wedding!

I just loved working with Sarah and the Proper Petal! Right off the bat, I could tell that Sarah understood my vision for our wedding. She was able to provide lots of visual examples of everything that she had in mind, and she even put together a Pinterest board just for us, and that was super helpful to make sure we were all on the same page. There were also several details that I was just unsure about what exactly I wanted, and I really appreciated Sarah's expert opinion and advice. The pricing was reasonable and we were able to work to stay within my budget. Sarah was also very organized and super responsive to all of my questions and emails. On our wedding day, all of the bouquets, centerpieces, and other arrangements were absolutely perfect. I just love looking back at the photos - Sarah totally nailed my vision! This girl (Kristen), owner of Proper Petal is amazing!! Her eye is amazing and she was able to take my daughter's vision and transform that into beautiful bouquets, flower arrangements, chair decorations and oh, THAT ARCH-so beautiful!! The flowers just popped in all of the photos and we have received so so many complements on how exquisite everything was. The Proper Petal does absolutely amazing work. Walking in, I really had just a general idea of what I wanted and they were able to run with it and create a flower design that was absolutely perfect. They were extremely professional and answered all of our questions promptly. The Proper Petal was worth every penny! Proper Petal was a ton of fun to work with! We met with Sarah and right away she captured our style and what we were looking for. She pulled images of their past work and described in detail what her creations for us would look like. She was willing to work with us to create a package that matched our budget and our needs. Everything looked full and bright without being over the top or too understated. The flowers at our wedding were beautiful! Everything arrived on time and looked fresh and clean. Sarah was wonderful at taking our vision and bringing it to life. Fun vendor with a lot of creativity at the right price point.

I knew they were something I needed, but I had no idea what I wanted. I met with Kristen, and I just knew I was in the right hands. With only showing her a few photos, she was able to see my vision, and she made it come to life. The flowers were absolutely breathtaking. Kristen was a consummate professional throughout the entire experience. She made it so easy, answered all my questions, and worked extremely well with my other vendors. When I told some of my other vendors who my florist was, they looked so relieved, and they all said something along the lines of "oh, you are working with The Proper Petal? They are great, and we love to work with them." You know it is a good sign when other vendors in the wedding industry only have good things to say. I cannot say enough about Kristen. She just has this way about her that is hard to describe. She is calm, kind, professional, detailed-oriented, and so very creative. Basically everything you would ever want in florist. I highly recommend The Proper Petal.

Our daughter, Coles, was married at the Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, VA and it was a lovely affair. As nice as the Homestead is, the florals designed by Sarah of the Proper Petal actually set the tone...very elegant and sophisticated. We couldn't be more pleased with how she handled everything from beginning to end with ease and confidence.

Proper Petal made our wedding more beautiful than I ever imagined! When I first met with Kristen, I had a general vision of what I wanted for our wedding but wasn’t sure how it would all come together. We sorted through pictures, put together an inspiration board, discussed various flower options and created a vision that was far above what I ever expected. She was flexible as we worked through adjustments to our original proposal and was readily available when complications arose with the venue. I was blown away with the quality and beauty of each bouquet, centerpiece and ceremony arrangement and the flowers provided such a romantic and organic feel to our ceremony and reception space. I had a great time working with Sarah at Proper Petal - I didn't have a super-specific picture in mind for my flower arrangements, so she put together a pinterest board for me and helped work within my budget. The flowers turned out absolutely perfect - beautiful, simple, colorful, and natural looking! Bonus - she hooked me up with Grace in Bloom, a local company that picks up flower arrangements after events and takes them to local nursing homes. I was so happy to be able to donate our flowers after the reception to make someone else's day a little brighter :)

The Proper Petal is AMAZING!!!! I can honestly say they blew us away with their work. I had some vision of what I wanted for my wedding; we shared pictures, and they took it to a level that far exceeded my expectations. Their inspiration and artistry were remarkable. I heard from guest after guest after guest that our flowers were the most beautiful flowers they had ever seen at a wedding. My mother was so pleased with Kristen & Sarah’s work she wanted to take every flower back home to Massachusetts with her after the wedding. Kristen and Sarah covered the spectrum. My bouquet was remarkable, they put together gorgeous arrangements for our rehearsal dinner & wedding, and they even decorated barn doors we made that were supposed to be on the lawn for our reception. Unfortunately by mid afternoon the forecast was looking terrible, and they rearranged the flowers and greenery inside the tent and created another masterpiece. I have never seen anything more spectacular! They were so easy to work with and super responsive. I highly recommend them for all your floral needs!
