I recommend the Omni for a smaller event, but their valet team could not handle the number of guests we had and some of our guests opted to not attend the reception rather than wait in the valet line.
Pros: very responsive, have tons of resources and can likely accommodate any request, fantastic food at the tasting—the chef is PHENOMENAL, the building is beautiful and it’s great to be able to offer your guests a place to stay at the same venue as the event.
Cons: while they have the ability to accommodate any request, they will charge you through the nose for it, an exaggerated example would be sneezing and asking for a tissue and them responding with “sure, here is one but it’ll cost you $100.” It’s just kind of annoying when you’re already paying a ridiculous amount for the event to tack on additional “little” charges for hundreds of dollars. We wanted to have a confetti send off, and the Omni stated that they don’t allow those because of littering and clean up being difficult. So I found biodegradable confetti that dissolves with water. But they said that couldn’t be used either “per city ordinance,” so being a lawyer I read the city regulations and even called and received confirmation from the city that it would be fine. So the Omni finally acquiesced to our request, but wouldn’t let us have the exit immediately out the door but we had to go down the street and be on the public sidewalk at the corner of their building and then they charged a $250 fee to have someone go out and hose the confetti off the sidewalk. Not a horrible problem, but just annoying to feel like you’re fighting to accommodate yourself after paying so much. Additionally, while the chef is amazing and the food at our tasting was MAGNIFICENT, the food at the wedding was underwhelming. Which is to be expected, except that we specifically asked if the food would all be prepared by the chef or multiple cooks and they assured us that it would be the same chef making all of the meals and that they would look and taste exactly as they had at the tasting. Finally, it was raining when people were arriving at the Omni for the reception so everyone was valeting their cars and the line was so long that a few guests just opted to go home rather than wait 30 minutes in the valet line.
Overall, the pros outweigh the cons and I would recommend the Omni. It was beautiful, had plenty of space for our guests/band/dance floor. And offered great amenities to the couple and family in the way of suites at a discounted rate. The rooms were beautiful with plenty of space for the hair and makeup team AND for a space to eat. The ballroom was beautiful and spacious enough for everyone to have their own space. And they worked with us to find a food selection that met our needs.
The Omni and its staff was amazing for our wedding reception. From the initial meeting with the sales department to my ongoing communicate with Taylor Kilburg everything was seamless. We had a reception with 72 people. We opted for the package that provided a cocktail hour, passed hor d'ourves, an open bar and full seated dinner. The food was amazing and the space was made to suit our smaller wedding reception. It did not feel like we were in a hotel ballroom but an elegantly appointed room with chandeliers, chiavari chairs and luxury linens. We stayed the night in a beautiful suit and were treated to breakfast in bed. Our friends and family raved about the service and the quality of the food and drinks.
I was very pleased with the service I was given from the Omni overall. There were a few mishaps the day and night of the wedding, but the manager was quick to address them the following week. The food and ambiance was perfect I am celebrating my anniversary there.
This hotel is beautiful and we had a great time! We stayed here after our wedding and the staff was so nice, we got complimentary champagne and strawberries and a card signed by the staff! Just a lovely touch and a wonderful place to stay!
The hotel staff was never on the same page. Group reservations, coordinator, concierge manager and the night front desk service should all have been aware there was an event in their biggest ballroom and that 40 rooms were reserved due to that event. After the reception I had to go to the front desk in my wedding gown so my groom and I could get our room. My mom tried to get the key from the front desk ahead of time but they refused to give it to her without my presence and my ID. The honeymoon suite is comp by the hotel so I believe that should be something they take care of and get the couple a key before the celebrations begin, just my thought. Deana, the coordinator can be hard to get a hold of too. 2-3 days to get an email back and sometimes you don't have 2-3 days PLUS a weekend and the Monday she is off(as most in the event industry are)to wait for a response. Repeatedly had to call and check to see if she received the email. Make your own layout, they claim to design you one but you may be waiting until the week of and vendors want it before then and so will you if you're doing seating arrangements. Also, be prepared for your hotel room to not be ready by the check in time.
Be sure to ask about power needs and costs ahead of time especially if you have a band and lighting.
Good thing I had great vendors to take care of the rest!
The food however, was great and so was the waitstaff!!
everthing was perfect i wouldnt of changed anything and the ppl was so nice i would tell any one to go there for any kind of party or even just to stay at
This room was so pretty!
Weddings are the omni fort worth are very organized because of their wedding coordinator Deana Ogg. She explains everything clearly and answered the bazillion questions my mom and dad had about all of the details. There are many options for the catering menu and she works with your budget.
The Omni is a gorgeous place to have your wedding...plus, you cannot beat the downtown Fort Worth scenery! The coordinator at the Omni is wonderful, and their catering is amazing! My only complaint is that some of our belongings were stolen out of the changing room during the wedding, and the bartenders were quite rude ... many guests complained that they were very pushy about tips, and they had already been tipped!
We had a fabulous experience using the Omni as our reception venue. We did virtually no work the day of and it turned out beautifully. We had a seated dinner and the service was flawless - fast, friendly. And the food was amazing - the presentation was over-the-top and tasted great. They coordinated with all the vendors, got us a great deal on chivari chairs and helped us return everything the next day. The only issue we had was getting blocks of rooms booked, but when we finally got through to the right people, they were overly helpful. Our package also included a hospitality room that was huge for the bridal party to get ready in. It was perfect. Would highly recommend this venue for large weddings who want a stress-free wedding day.
