We cannot say enough amazing things about The Omni La Mansion del Rio Hotel and their incredible team for making our wedding day absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked in unannounced, Jaida, our event coordinator, went above and beyond to sit with us for an hour and answer all of our questions. Her knowledge, professionalism, and kindness made the entire planning process seamless.
Jaida guided us every step of the way, from outlining the planning process to recommending top-tier vendors. She was always available with prompt responses and even facilitated communication between both sides of our families, ensuring every detail was covered. The venue itself was stunning, and the catering was phenomenal—our guests are still raving about the food, especially the special cookie shooters!
Beyond the exceptional planning and service, Jaida and our wedding planner truly went above and beyond when a medical emergency occurred during the reception. They pivoted effortlessly, handling the situation with professionalism and care while ensuring the celebration continued smoothly. Their ability to navigate the unexpected with such grace and efficiency speaks volumes about their dedication to their clients.
If you’re looking for a venue that truly cares about making your wedding stress-free and magical, The Omni is the place to go. We are beyond grateful and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat!
This place is Ah-mazing! SO beautiful! And the history behind it! - Mind Blown!
The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and kind. They had found out that we'd stayed at the Omni Fort Worth for our original wedding night back in January of 2021 and completely took us by surprise when we arrived.
It was right on the River Walk and just extremely comfortable with everything - late check out allowed us to get breakfast from the cafe downstairs and the bellhop was patient and helpful when we were trying to load everything, scampering around like mice trying to remember what we were doing exactly.
Recommend 100%.
The ballrooms are beautiful and they do offer package dinners+bar. The food is definitely recommendable, but be aware if you're getting the 3 or 4 hour bar included. They don't list out in the contract that there is a limitation to how many bottles and only say the bar hours. We had the 4 hour bar and was cut off an hour early. Previously, we have noted that our crowd is a heavy Hennessy group and it was in the event order that I had signed as well. As soon as hour 3 came around, they were telling us that we already had 5 bottles and was not allowed to have anymore. The more disappointing part was they didn't offer a different liquor either. I don't recommend the bar package. This was a huge deal for our wedding reception due to our cultural tradition of having the groom drink as much as possible. A lot of people were upset!
Also, make sure to check through all contracts and event orders before signing if you're going with the Omni. I found lots of errors and had to make updates.
Our family held a wedding and reception at the Omni this past weekend. The bride and groom live 1,600 miles away and planning a wedding long distance wasn't the easiest. But, with the help of Krystal Senn (catering sales manager at the Omni) the planning couldn't have gone smoother. Not only is Krystal enthusiastic and full of energy, she gets things done...from the room for the ceremony to the delicious food choices, Krystal has an eye for weddings. A shout out to all of her crew members as well...we were treated like royalty!
I think Krystal and her entire staff need a raise (or at least a BIG bonus)!!
Omni La Mansion del Rio did not disappoint anyone in our wedding. They definitely exceeded all of our expectations. We used three different locations in the Hotel for our celebration. Each one had staff members and Marissa(Catering Sales Manager) who were very professional and extremely easy to work with. Marissa was in constant contact with myself and the wedding planner in the weeks before the big day making sure all of our needs were met and even going above and beyond to make last minute adjustments and reservations. Marissa made it a point to be visible and available during all ceremonies which made our event planners work so much easier.
Two weeks later and still getting compliments on our food selection. We went ala carte and it met everyone's taste... from prime rib, brisket, macaroni and cheese(big hit-must try), baked potato bar to vegetable medley it was all delicious.
Check-in was easy and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The bell staff and parking attendants were courteous and helpful to families needing directions or suggestions on local entertainment.
For the ceremony we used the Courtyard with the beautiful fountain. The cocktail hour we used El Capistrano and the Madero room was used for the reception. Each room was decorated and set as promised in our agreement. The staff even added candles on and around the fountain for the ceremony thus making it that much prettier.
We stayed a week here at the omni for our wedding vacation. We loved the old rustic spanish style look it had to it. The price was great considering the view and placement on the riverwalk. They did so many special and personalized things for us! The valet guys are top notch here! They treated our dogs wonderfully always being nice to them and putting doggie bowls for them in our room. We loved it here! Every time we come to stay in San Antonio we will be coming back here.
In reviewing Omni I would have to spilt my review into to categories: 1) as a place to hold a wedding ceremony and reception, and 2) as a hotel for your wedding guests.
Omni la Mansion del Rio is a beautiful place for ceremony and wedding reception. We had our ceremony in their outdoor courtyard and had our reception in the large ballroom. The quality was exceptional. We were very impressed with the accommodations. However, there is a warning that I would give to any bride-to-be: you must have a coordinator for this venue. Their onsite, on staff coordinator lacks in professionalism and consistenly has to be reminded to do everything. Our experience went from fabulous to not-so-good when we were told we had to work with their coordinator. To sum it up, the day of the wedding she forgot communicate several key items (such as menu items, table locations, timeline events) and worst of all had the nerve to tell me just as I was getting ready to walk down the isle "your wedding was so stressful". I mean what wedding coordinator says that?
Overall, as an established five-star hotel the hotel wait staff, receptionist, manager, valet, and others were phenomenal. They really helped to make up for our experience with the event coordinator. I would definitely stay at the Omni again...I just would not recommend it as a hotel venue UNLESS you have an AWESOME coordinator contracted to deal with their event coordinator.
Since many guests came from out of town, we wanted to host our wedding in a place we thought felt "very San Antonio." We also got married in April on the last Friday of Fiesta, so we chose La Mansion for its proximity to all the downtown events.
We were married outside on the patio, then had a cocktail reception in the Veremindi room and had the reception on one of the ball rooms.
The location is gorgeous, and so not much decorating was necessary. The room was also just the right size for the number of guests we had. The staff at La Mansion did a great setting up the room with candles and simple decoration.
Food was excellent and La Mansion hosted my family and I twice for tastings. Margaritas were also excellent.
The staff was very polite and did an excellent job ushering us as well as serving dinner. Jessica Benetiz was our wedding coordinator. She is very polite and professional.
Finally, the food was excellent and well presented. We loved that La Mansion included chocolate strawberries as well as champagne.
Aside from La Mansion being historic & beautiful...both a huge plus, the Wedding Catering Sales Manager Jessica is stellar! On a scale of 1-10...is was a 12. And all the staff were very professional & offered impeccable service. Loved, Loved my venue!!!
