We knew from the moment we toured the Omni that we wanted to get married there. I had seen some concerning reviews about other events hosted there but honestly, our day was absolutely perfect. Katerina and the entire Omni team were outstanding for the entire weekend and throughout the planning process. We felt supported throughout the entire planning process and everyone at the Omni was wonderful to work with. We hosted a small dinner Thursday night, our rehearsal dinner and welcome reception Friday and our entire wedding all at the resort and each event was executed perfectly. F&B team members were constantly checking in with us and even though there were so many other weddings and events occurring that weekend, everything was executed so seamlessly. All of our guests were so impressed with how well the resort handled everything & how yummy all of the food was!
I grew up going to the Mount Washington Hotel every summer with my family, so when it came time to pick a wedding venue I knew exactly where I wanted it to be. I was blown away by how organized and efficient the Mount Washington is when it comes to weddings, every event was perfect and my husband and I truly felt like the most important people in the hotel. All of the staff checked in with us throughout the reception to make sure there was nothing we needed, and kept our drinks and hearts full. The venue is absolutely spectacular, nothing beats the white mountains, and I was so impressed with the staffs ability to take an already stunning venue and create the reception of my dreams with the guidelines and decor I had given them. The food was also top tier, all of our guests said that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. If you can have your wedding at the Mount Washington Hotel you and your guests will not be disappointed.
We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding weekend at The Omni in May 2023. We hosted a welcome party and bridal brunch at the hotel and our ceremony and reception at Crystal Hills. It was the most beautiful place to get married, the staff was incredibly kind and went above and beyond for us, and we would strongly recommend it. The weather for our weekend was all over the place and the entire time the team at the Omni kept us in the loop on any needed changes and came up with creative solutions. Nancy, our main point-of-contact, was phenomenal to work with. She was on top of everything and made sure she understood what we wanted so that she could execute on it. Scott, the catering manager, was also amazing to work with. He not only ensured we got our outdoor wedding (despite the weather), but he also was great emotional support during tricky decision points. We are so grateful to have been able to have such a magical wedding, in no small part due to the wonderful team at the Omni.
Any questions?
I would strongly recommend - NOT to keep the weeding there if it's on a big scale.
- They charge ridiculously high, but they manage very poor.
- The place is beautifully located surrounded by mountains. But, the weather can turn bad anytime. Those pretty looking mountain view can't be enjoyed for most wedding events.
- Management overlooks all the details of the wedding. We had events - Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding, cocktail and reception at 3 different halls, and NO SIGNS anywhere - Which hall? Where? Which event? Nothing. Everyone kept on wondering. Finally. we had to ask them to make one staff stand at every turn and direct everyone.
- 5 layer wedding cake was cut, but was never served. When everyone was about to leave, some pieces were kept on a side table around 11-11:30 pm.
- Cocktail hour food was kept inside the hall during the whole time and kept people waiting outside the hall with only 2 bartenders attending almost 200 people, and no food.
- During the reception dinner, food trays were empty, not getting refilled. Servers not replenishing from the kitchen, even though there was so much food in the kitchen.
- Dining room is beautiful, but the staff is very rude, except one - Gergo. He was exceptional.
-People with the language barrier were kept at the front desk, where they have to interact most with the people !!!!
Bottom line, only if mother nature is in your favor, only then it's worth it. Otherwise, absolutely not.
From the second we stepped foot in the hotel, my husband and I knew this was where we wanted to get married. I remember leaving a message inquiring about availability, and Marjorie, the event coordinator and planner, got back to me within a few hours. We scheduled a meeting with Marjorie and were able to put a deposit down that day. I cannot say enough about how helpful Marjorie was throughout the entire process. She is truly a rockstar when it comes to juggling a million things with grace, patience, and professionalism. Our weekend went by without a hitch. The venue is absolutely beautiful. We had our rehearsal dinner in the Cave, our reception on the Jewell Terrace, cocktail hour on the South Veranda, and our reception in the grand ballroom. At the end of the weekend, we hosted a brunch in the Sun Dining Room. Words cannot describe how beautiful everything was! The food was absolutely delicious, and guests still talk about how the steak was some of the best they’ve ever had. The staff working our wedding were so friendly and nice. I am so thankful we had somebody as incredible as Marjorie to work with - we would have been lost without her! There were a few minor issues with our room block because of a new system that the hotel was transitioning to, however Marjorie took care of it all right away. We are so thankful for her and this beautiful place we were able to get married at. We can’t wait to go back to visit the hotel through the years!
If you are looking for a breathtaking, historic venue with amazing staff and food then this is the place for you. The hotel's beauty speaks for itself but what really sets it apart is the staff. Marjorie and her team were fabulous and made sure the day was flawless, even though it was the peak of a covid surge. Everyone was friendly, helpful and they anticipated everything so that the day ran smoothly. I even forgot my veil at home and they somehow were able to procure one for me. The food was also delicious, something that large scale venues often have a hard time with since they are mass producing dishes. This was not the case. I would recommend this venue to everyone and wish I could go back and do it all again.
We got married here in June and it was the best decision ! Everything was absolutely amazing, all of the guests are still talking about it! Whitney and Marjorie are Incredible and so talented, they took care of every single detail, answered every questions, and exceeded all expectations! It really was a fairy tale wedding- Highly Recommend- we can not thank them enough!
The Omni Mount Washington was literally a DREAM come true for our winter wedding!!!
The day we toured MW we visited 2 other locations and we felt an immediate connection to the property that really outshined the others. That first impression never failed us. Marjorie (our planner) was there every step of the way, providing empathy during COVID-19 wedding planning, problem-solving solutions, fantastic vendor suggestions, amazing wedding tips, and kept a can-do attitude LITERALLY the entire time.
We love how it's not one of those monster resorts where your guests will get lost. Our guests are still raving about their weekend getaway, the FOOOOOODDD, the activities, and how we were all able to spend some quality time in such a beautiful atmosphere.
HIGHLY recommend!!!!!
Despite the older style rooms this hotel has amazing views! My fiancé and I wanted to do a small wedding with a dinner to follow (no reception). I had reached out the wedding coordinator, Marjorie Simpson! After a week of leaving messages on her voicemail and at the front desk, she finally answered her phone (never called or emailed me back). I explained to her what I was looking for with some dates and she said she would email me the estimate within 48hrs! That was a week ago! I don’t know how any events get planned with this woman who is either never there or just chooses not to return calls! Needless to say it’s not worth the effort to chase this women for my wedding when there are plenty of nice places in the white mountains! The hotel should be embarrassed that they have someone so unorganized and irresponsible! Why wouldn’t you want to bring money to your business especially after all of what’s going on? Must be nice to get paid to do nothing!
Our wedding at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel was a DREAM COME TRUE! It is just such a special place, we wish we could relive the wedding day over and over again! Our wedding was Great Gatsby themed & I swear it felt like we went back in time to the 1920's during our wedding night. The food is delicious, the views are outstanding & the hospitality was incredible! It was the best day of our life! We highly recommend the Omni Mount Washington Hotel & their amazing staff!
Our wedding at the Mount Washington Hotel was beyond anything we had ever dreamed of! To start the venue is an amazing place to host friends, and family with a taste of NH history and beautiful views. The Presidential Ballroom, Foyer and Jewell Terrace were the perfect fit for our group size (~115 people). The food was delicious, and the catering and bellmen staff were friendly and helpful throughout the entire weekend. Our ceremony was flawless and ran so smoothly. Kendra, our wedding coordinator was very helpful in responding to my many questions prior to the wedding, even the day of! The only confusing piece of the planning process was the room block. I would recommend ensuring that your guests are committed to their rooms on property early on, and that they understand implications of cancelling! Since we were married during foliage season and many of our guests were travelling from outside New England, we aimed to enforce this as best we could through our website and save the dates. However sometimes guests called to book on the special reservation line but were re-routed, or told the block was full. All in all, this was an unforgettable weekend and we could not be happier with our stay and experience! I wish we could do it all again!
THE BEST WEDDING VENUE! From the incredible views..to the staff, it could not be better. My husband and I just got married at the Mount Washington Hotel this summer. We were so lucky to have Kendra as our Wedding Coordinator. She is the most amazing, we could not have asked for a more trusting, kind, and organized planner! We trusted her 100% and our Wedding day was PERFECT. She gave us the best wedding vendor recommendations as well. The Hotel was not only receptive to our ideas and requests, they took everything to the next level to make our Wedding day so incredibly special. There was not one thing we would have changed!
We are so happy with the experience we had at the Omni Mount Washington for our wedding! From our first tour of the venue, we felt the Mount Washington had something special that could not be matched. The wedding coordinator, Marjorie, was a pleasure to work with and provided us with all the support we needed. We planned our wedding remotely with the only trips to the venue being our initial tour and the tasting/coordination meeting, but we were in contact with Marjorie and other MW staff throughout the planning and during our wedding weekend. Some thoughts on specifics: 1) Venue – everything about the MW is stunning, from the breathtaking vista as you drive up the entrance to each of their unique venue options. We loved the atmosphere of the old New England hotel with its history and character. Our ceremony (Jewell Terrace) and reception (Presidential Ballroom) spaces were beautifully decorated exactly as we had requested for the wedding, and our rehearsal dinner (The Cave) had the cozy and intimate feeling we were hoping for. All of the food we had for our wedding events was wonderfully done and was enjoyed by our guests. 2) The Staff – we loved working with Marjorie and felt that we were in capable hands with her and her team. The meeting we had with her during our tasting covered all the planning details and she was full of ideas on how to best use the spaces we had reserved. Everyone we interacted with – the wait staff, the rest of the wedding team, the reception staff – were all extremely helpful and pleasant. That said, because we were planning during the “high times” of summer and fall, it was sometimes difficult to get in contact with Marjorie during these months. We would sometimes go 2 or 3 weeks before she would return a call or email. However, after seeing the attention she gave to our wedding, we understand now why that is. Her entire focus is on the wedding she is facilitating that day, so the patience we had in the planning process paid off on our wedding day. She even gave us her personal contact info, not just business, so we could easily get in touch in the final weeks leading up to the date. She will bend over backwards to give you what you are hoping for if it is in her power, including making a last minute decision to move the entire ceremony setup so that you can have your wedding outside in the 45 minutes of sunshine that day (happened for us!) 3) Cost – yes, this is an expensive venue and they do charge for all the extras. However, we did not find that any of those costs were hidden or surprises. Read the contract and the informational material they provide carefully as it is all stated in those documents and don’t expect anything to be included if it is not stated as such. Having these expectations going in made for a much better experience than some of the reviews describe, and made for a pleasant surprise when something was thrown in for no extra cost.
Bottom line: We had a fantastic experience at the Mount Washington and are very happy with our decision to host our wedding here. Our guests had a wonderful time and the venue really made the weekend special for us. We can’t thank them enough!
We had a dream of a winter wedding last weekend put on the Mt. Washington! It was such a pleasure working with the in-house wedding planner. She was so professional and had an amazing knowledge of the gorgeous hotel. Hugely recommend, especially for an elegant, black tie affair.
Can we do it again!? This is all I keep thinking about since our beautiful wedding on December 22nd 2018. What could be better? To celebrate the sacred and beautiful union of marriage in the most beautiful venue filled with character, charm, elegance and beauty of the White mountains. We were overjoyed with everything about the MWH. In fact, this is where my husband proposed so it holds special meaning for us. I initially wondered if the outer splendor would match the experience of really working closely with the hotel staff to plan and host a wedding here. I can speak to our positive experience. We felt that the Mt. Washington hotel provided exceptional customer service that left us feeling cared for in every way. There was no nickle and diming in our experience since all the details and charges were clearly laid out in the contract. Never having done this before, I asked tons of questions whenever I was unsure of gratuity fees, set up fees or anything else. I have to sing the praises of Kendra Reid our wedding coordinator who was exceptional in every way. Kendra is transparent, down to earth, timely, polite, attentive, helpful, enthusiastic and pleasant to work with in every way. I requested many things such as changes to our rental spaces, changes to the room block for additional rooms and had a few questions regarding charges listed on the contract which were promptly dealt with by both Kendra or the accounting team. They were understanding every time there was a discrepancy which made a huge difference in the whole planning process. There are so many details to account for with planning the wedding that can be stressful, however the customer service in the entire hotel (spa and dining included) coupled with the exquisite elegance of this historic hotel with stunning mountain views was a truly amazing experience for our intimate December wedding. Thank you Omni Mount Washington and to our coordinator Kendra for making this so memorable and special for us!
Our only regret is that we cannot go back to the Omni and do it all again! The second we walked out on the Jewell Terrace where we ended up holding our ceremony- we knew no other venue would compare. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The weekend was flawless. The hospitality of the Omni staff is unrivaled. We felt so special and taken care of. It was not just a wedding day-but an entire personalized weekend experience for not only my husband and I, but also our guests. Being from MA, it was the perfect spot to have a "destination wedding feel"- without making people travel too far.
Everyone we speak to is still raving about the entire event- especially the food. It is actually incredible that the chef and his staff were able to create 175 perfect plates of food. I am still craving the sirloin and german pasta side- scrumptious and cooked to perfection.
To be honest, everything exceeded our expectations. Our guests were wowed by the experience from start to finish. From the breathtaking scenery, to the delicious signature cocktails, to the excellence of the hotel- everyone is still talking about what a "first-class" experience they had. I have never heard so many wedding guests comment about what a personalized experience they felt like they had at such a large wedding (i.e.- 1 bartender set aside a bottle of a special vodka that 1 of my bridesmaids loved & remembered her every time she approached the bar during the various weekend events).
We planned our wedding in 6 months and even in this short amount of time, we were able to make our dream day come true- down to the very last detail. I believe that the reason this was all able to come together so perfectly and beautifully in such limited time is because of our Omni wedding coordinator, Marjorie. Marjorie is an absolute asset to the Omni. She is a tireless worker and her passion and expertise shines through in every detail of the events that she flawlessly executes. Marjorie might be part mind reader as she truly seemed able to know what we wanted before we did. When we were not sure what we wanted- Marjorie was there to bring options to life for us so that we could make the right choice for us. And on the contrary, when we knew exactly what we wanted, Marjorie was there to move mountains to make it work. Always while keeping our budget in mind. I never imagined that I would receive compliments from our family members and bridal party about how wonderful our wedding coordinator was- but Marjorie's excellence at her profession is so apparent that it can't help but be noticed by even the most unlikely observers.
Planning a wedding is stressful, but when I ended up needing emergent surgery 5 days before my wedding day, my stress levels surged. When Marjorie heard, her concern was genuine, her direction was spot on, and she made sure that everything we had put so much heart into planning went off without a hitch. Because I knew Marjorie was there to take care of things, I was able to rest and heal in those important days leading up to the wedding. Marjorie has a true talent for creating a perfect, gorgeous, personalized wedding day (always, always with a huge smile on her face)- but it is who she is as a person that makes her truly exceptional at the work that she does.
Our wedding day was without a doubt the very best day of our lives. If you have the opportunity to hold your special day at this incredible venue, I promise you will be well taken care of!
My fiance and I drove 3 hours up to stay in the area and check out the Omni Mt Washington hotel (along with others). Marjorie was so responsive up until after she met with us— then she literally disappeared. Once she found out that we ‘may’ want to do a small wedding, I think she lost interest in us. She told us she would follow up the next day with a quote/estimate, and not only didn’t do that, but wouldn’t respond to my calls or emails. Also, at the end, wouldn’t even offer to show us the smaller areas for rent just in case we did want to have less than 100 people. Maybe they just need a new wedding coordinator. The grounds and hotel is breath taking, prices are similar or less than the going rates. Now Bretton Woods went from our #1 to off of our list completely.
If we could rate negative we would give a negative 5. Horrible, horrible experiences. All the negative comments in other reviews are true, and we experienced all except that we didn't give them the opportunity to charge us the hidden cost after the event as we cancel it. We are so glad we did. Just hired a lawyer to fight to get our money back. If I am allowed to edit to add more, i would do it later to share more details, so you all can benefit and learn from our experiences and really know what kind of operation and people you will be dealing with there. For now, I just want to share this quick note to warn other couples, if you want a good wedding experience including the planning process, stay away. Don't regret later, like us now. This is once-in-a-life-time experience for you, don't ruin it. The view and venue are definitely not worth it, totally not worth it.
We had our daughter's wedding at The Mount last weekend. The event went off flawlessly and service was exceptional from the rehearsal to checkout at the end of the weekend. A couple of frustrations along the way- emails and phone calls were not promptly returned by our wedding planner (but our requests were always accommodated) and the room block was unnecessarily complicated. Overall it was outstanding. The venue is grand and elegant and the White Mountain views are breathtaking.
Wedding dreams do come true! After many months of planning, everything about our wedding weekend was outstanding. Marjorie helped to make it all happen, and never failed to surprise us with how seamlessly all of our events were run. The hotel has been so accommodating and has made us feel so welcome. Despite some challenges with booking rooms for our guests, we have been treated with such kindness and hospitality. The spa made us all look and feel beautiful. The food, outstanding. I am still in awe of how everything came together, even better than I could have imagined!
We had a fantastic experience working with Devon for our wedding last August. Devon was professional, flexible, and great with the many personalities of our family. Our wedding was absolutley magical from the ceremony on the veranda all the way to the after party in the cave. As Boston event planners ourselves, we can confidently say that this venue held up to our high standards. We wish we could do it all again and will be visiting the hotel for the rest of our lives.
DO NOT PLAN YOUR WEDDING HERE. They lie. The prices ARE NOT as advertised online. You will do the math, figure out that Omni is within your budget, even speak to their wedding planners (salesmen), who will confirm the prices you've worked out over the phone. Then at the last minute, they will slip you a contract which guarantees them thousands in additional hidden fees and expenses. You'll call. They'll apologize and agree to send you a new contract that reflects the prices you had previously talked about. But the contract you'll get will be just like the first. Thousands (ours was almost $7000 extra) in hidden fees. That's the one they want you to sign. They told us the prices were going up at the end of the year. They created "deadlines" to pressure us into signing. We refused, and even after January 1 came and went, the prices never went up. They are liars and conmen. I have never written a review like this in my life but I wanted to let you all know before someone else falls into their trap. The views at Omni are extraordinary, to be sure, but not enough to justify working with people like this. If you decide to go through with it (you are braver than I!) make sure you can afford at least $10,000 more than the prices given online. Read the fine print! Ask questions. Watch for those hidden fees! They will find a way to swindle more money out of you in that contract. You want my advice? Go to Mountain View Grand.
My husband and I recently got married at the Mount Washington Hotel. We had always dreamed of getting married there as the hotel is amazing and the setting in the fall is perfect. Our wedding sales coordinator at the hotel was always very responsive and the day of most everything went very smoothly. We for the most part were very happy with how everything turned out. The service was right on and everyone was very attentive on the wedding day. The one thing that made planning very difficult is the Omni's policy on room blocking, wherein the bride/groom are financially responsible if someone cancels their room and it cannot be filled. We also had an app that was not what we ordered and part of our vegetarian dish was different than what we had decided on.
It is not an inexpensive venue, but it is worth it
The Omni Mount Washington Resort is probably one of the most magical places to get married. Our wedding day itself was gorgeous, and the OMWR staff was able to execute the day seemingly flawlessly. The food was superb, and all of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Most of the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The planning process, however, was not as smooth as the wedding itself, and if this particular location didn't have so much sentimental meaning to my husband, myself, and our families, we never would have signed the contract. We definitely felt taken advantage of financially, and there were many moments it seemed like they were more concerned about the nickel and dime than customer service. The room block was also extremely complicated, and many of our guests had trouble with their reservations. EVERYTHING just seemed more complicated than it had to be. Though we fully enjoyed our wedding and would love to go back to that specific day, I am very glad it's over! Also, I had my hair and makeup done at the OMWR spa - at my rehearsal, the hair stylist could not manage any of the styles I showed her, and commented that I "was having a bad hair day." My makeup stylist disregarded my desire for a natural look and I ended up with purple eye shadow and red lips... The spa was generous enough to offer me another rehearsal free of charge, but it was inconvenient seeing as it was 2 months before my wedding and I live 3 hours away. Needless to say, I did end up being happy with my hair and makeup on my wedding day, but not sure if all the stress it caused was worth it.
The service at the Omni was amazing. I was treated very well throughout the whole process. Staff were helpful and accommodating when we were there. I would highly recommend. The grounds are GORGEOUS too!
We had the most perfect wedding day and we have The Mt. Washington Resort to thank! Last year, we went up for our wedding tasting. Staff were attentive to our needs and the food was so delicious, words cannot even describe it! It truly is a magical destination for a wedding. A week before our wedding we went up for a visit and one of the staff members on the veranda treated us to a drink! On Friday (the day before our wedding), we met with all staff members who would be with us on our big day. We can't say enough good things about how accomodating and kind they were. They made sure all allergies and dietary restrictions were accomodated. Our wedding day came and we could not have had a more perfect backdrop! The ladies in the spa did a great job doing my hair, as well as my mother's. They brought us cocktails and the girl that did my make up did a phenomenal job! She asked me what look I wanted and exceeded every expectation I had. The staff were incredibly friendly and gave us extra bathrobes for my bridesmaids to wear while getting ready and for a few pictures. The ceremony was wonderful and once it had ended, two glasses of champagne were waiting for us. Our reception was amazing and all of our guests said, it was the most amazing wedding they had ever been to. The food was incredible and the wait staff even brought our food back a few times to warm it up since my husband and I were talking with our guests. Our only complaint would be the organization at times. When guests called to book rooms, they were told there was no record of our wedding. Sometimes I would email our coordinator and would not hear back for several days (this does not include days they were not in the office). We understand they are incredibly busy. Lastly, we enjoyed delicious snacks waiting in our honeymoom suite after the wedding, however the note had one of our names wrong. That being said, it was immediately fixed and they were incredibly apologetic. We cannot say enough good things about this venue and despite a few snaffoos, the day was amazing. The venue was worth EVERY single penny and we would strongly reccommend it to any couple!Thank you Mt. Washington Resort for the most beautiful wedding day!
This place has a few fantastic rooms and a really great atmosphere. The are a few challenges here and will require diligence on your part and some acceptance.
First, read everything very carefully before you sign and get everything in writing. Our original sales person was happy to tell us what we wanted only to have it change when she had to put it down on paper. We nearly went to another venue just because we couldn't deal with her for fear she would completely ruin the day. We were passed off onto the manager of the wedding directors who did her best to sort things out.
Over the course of the next few months we had banquet directors and beverage directors making promises they couldn't keep, which we didn't find out about until two weeks before the event. We found ourselves arguing with the venue a lot in those weeks over minor details like the cost of booze. They did eventually cave to all the promises they made, but it took some cajoling to get there. I cannot stress enough that you get everything in writing from every person you deal with. If you do this, your arguing should be at a minimum.
The acceptance part comes with the dinner. It simply will not match the tasting in style or substance. The tastings were amazing and showcased how great their chefs can be. The actual dinner was bland, awful, and didn't even have most of the major components of the tasting. We took pictures and compared them. The tasting looks like a Michelin Starred restaurant, the reception dinner looks like a TV dinner knockoff. Also, it was overcooked. Bear in mind, I'm talking about the dinner for the bride and groom. If you're going to get one thing right...
The cake was the same way. There were several amazing cakes they had us take home at the tasting, but they were nothing like the cake on the day. I think they may have bought the cake for the wedding at DeMoulas. Also cake related, they forgot to save us the top of the cake. I called them out on it at the reception and they told us that they had not served the top. We had a special flavor for the top layer, so it was noticeable that they were not telling the truth. They tried to cover it by boxing up a cake for us the next morning. Surprisingly they weren't even willing to make the effort to style it like the cake we had the night before (they know we take pictures, right?)it was frosted differently and lacked any of the designs we clearly had pictures of.
Other side notes:
They schedule a lot of weddings in one day. They're good at moving things around, but they may change other weddings venues without notice to you. We lost our picture spot to a wedding that was moved without notice. When we tried taking pictures in the spot where their wedding was supposed to be they came and asked us to leave because we were "interfering" with their ceremony.
Once you get to the ceremony weekend a lot of the issues will go away. Once you set things in motion at the hotel, they are a well oiled machine. We didn't really have to worry about a thing once our director took over. If you are sold on the location take solace in the fact that all the months of arguing with the venue will turn into relaxation on the weekend. They know how to run a wedding.
TL;DR Don't take their word for anything, get it in writing. The food and cake will be bad, just accept it no matter what happens at the tasting. You're paying for the venue, the view, and the organization on the day. Ultimately it was worth it.
The service while planning was super stressful and they nickel and dimed you for EVERYTING but in the end the wedding was beautiful
We got married on Friday August 2nd and the views from the Presidential Terance were breathtaking. We couldnt have asked for a better day and the help that we got from Barbara and Sebastian was exactly what any bride and groom would want. Everything we needed and wanted they were there for us. From the ceremony to the cocktail hour and reception they made everything easy and perfect. My guest keep on telling me how beautiful it was and how much fun they had.
We booked the Mt Washington about a year and a half in advance and had chosen it because my husband and I met in that area and loved the hotel. The venue is very pricey but we had a super small wedding (about 25 ppl) so we were able to swing it. We set a minimum back when we thought our party was going to be larger so it was a bit of a struggle to hit but we did so with lots of F&B upgrades. Our guests raved about the food and service!
Our wedding coordinator Sheila was very responsive and helpful, even through our multiple venue changes and tons of questions. Tina the banquet captain was in charge of our rehearsal dinner and also the main event, and she did a fantastic job.
The only downside was the weather. We were supposed to have our ceremony outside on the Jewell Terrace and Sheila tried everything in her power to have it out there, up until 10 minutes before the start of the ceremony when the light drizzle became too much and everything was moved to the South Veranda. Our guests commented on how smoothly this all went, and the South Veranda was still a beautiful space and was more intimate for our small group. I was not a fan of the direct view of the tennis courts during the ceremony but luckily they didn't come out in any of our pictures, and it seems no one else really noticed them.
Our dinner was in the main dining room and the staff went out of their way to make our event feel special rather than us just being a large dinner party. We had our own section of the dining room so we were separated from the rest of the guests, and there was light dinner music being played by a live band and some people went up to dance. It was very nice!
Our reception was out on the South Veranda and the staff did a wonderful job setting it up. We had some tables and a small dance floor and the wicker furniture that is usually on the veranda. It was a great space! We had an iPod and controlled our own music which worked great. Our ceremony had run long due to the change of venue and then dinner ran a bit long too so they let us stay out on the veranda past 11 when we were only supposed to have it until 10. We played our music at the volume we wanted and I was concerned there would be a complaint because it was outside and 11pm but no one ever said anything (or if they did I never knew about it!).
When we returned to our room that night we found a personalized plate with our names and wedding date with two chocolate covered strawberries dressed as a bride and groom. It was the little touches that made this such a great experience!
When you're planning a wedding you tend to get hung up on the little things that may have not gone as planned, but all of our guests were impressed with the hotel, the service, the food, and the flow of the entire event. They all had a blast and so did we!
The resort is beautiful, our guests were blown away! The staff is amazing and they did everything they could, went above and beyond, to accommodate our every need.
First wedding planner gave many incorrect answers that I based my budget on. She was fired or quit...was given a new wedding planner that was still training and very bad with details. Lots of re-work constantly pointing out inaccurate details and manager and general manager were not proactive about complaints. Having a built in planner was supposed to make things easier but they sell AND plan the wedding so they were overloaded. Resident Florist's price did not change regardless of what changes I made to flower choices. If I could do the flowers again I would work with Emily Herzig Floral Studio. Her flowers are amazing but unfortunately she was already booked. Wedding came out great in the end..front of house and catering were great but dinner was very slow which caused other timing to be messed up but they took good care of us once we were on property despite the hiccup in dinner service. Very nickle and dimed also but wedding was lovely and location is BEAUTIFUL. Lots of good varied price accommodations for out of town guests. Nice to have rehearsal dinner, brunch, and after parties all in one place.
Apart from being a truly stunning hotel in a beautifully picturesque setting, the hotel staff and on site professionals are dedicated to service and meeting every expectation you have for your special day. Our wedding coordinator Mark, spent time with us to make sure we understood all the possibilities and options available to us when it came to ceremony and reception locations, food and beverage, cake, decor etc. It is rare to find a venue that can offer almost everything you need right on site. They aim to please and they delivered beyond our expectations. We chose to go with their pastry chef for our cake and it was fabulous. We decided to go with an outside vendor for flowers since the small onsite shop could not get the flowers I , but I did see their work and they are most definitely capable. We had 130 guests and went with the 4 course option with open bar. It certainly wasn't inexpensive, but you get what you pay for and it was worth every cent. Our guests commented often about how good the food was and wonderful and impressive the service was. I would highly recommend trusting your special day to this experienced staff. From the beginning planning stages to the pre-wedding meeting, you will be informed of everything you need to know, and nothing you don't. They were very clear that once the wedding day comes, they want the bride and groom to enjoy their day and they leave you alone and speak only to your designated decision maker with any questions that may arise. If there were problems, I certainly didn't know about them. I can't say enough good things about our experience. The hotel is magnificent, but at the end of the day, you want your experience to match the pleasure the venue brings and it certainly does with the Mount.
The scenery, the service, the food, the accommodations...everything was perfect! You really won't regret it!
The Mt. Washington is absolutely the most perfect place to get married. Everything is on the site. The staff know exactly what to do on your day so you have no worries. It was the most stress free day. The spa is there for you to relax and get ready. Hotel accommodations are available for everyone with different budgets. The resort is connected by a shuttle that makes late night partying not a problem. The view from the hotel is priceless. It rained on my wedding day and moving the ceremony inside was not a problem at all. It was still as perfect as it would have been outside. Wonderful wonderful wonderful! For all of the service you receive the price was really good.
Everyone was really amazing! They were friendly and helpful and extremely attentive (without being annoying). They made the planning easy and were always there with immediate answers to my questions and they kept everything on schedule and organized the day of. I honestly didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day. The food was amazing and we received numerous compliments on it. The ballroom and the entire venue is overwhelmingly beautiful and did not disappoint. And the best part...the wedding came in under our contract and we actually got money back! I would recommend them to anyone!!!
The Omni Mount Washington went above and beyond on my wedding day to make the event perfect. The staff was superb and I couldn't have dreamed of a better day. The views are spectacular and my pictures are amazing. However, you pay a premium for this. You pay a lot of money for these views. It was worth it for me.
