Where do I start… I would say if you’re struggling to decide who to choose as a wedding planner, stop thinking and go with Sunny because you will not regret it. Here’s the summary of my experience with Sunny:
- Here work is seamless and she’s so attentive. And I’m pretty sure she does more than she’s paid to do…. This, I heard even from someone she works with. When I was getting my makeup and hair done by a stylist, she actually told me Sunny is quite exceptional. She said most wedding planners don’t go to the extent Sunny does to take care of their clients and oftentimes clients can end up taking care of their wedding in so many ways. She told me Sunny truly goes above and beyond to make sure she does all the work so her clients don’t have to.
- She is so knowledgeable about weddings. It was my first wedding, but I did research on my own and thought I could potentially plan a wedding on my own. I was wrong! For those planing a wedding in Hawaii as a destination wedding especially, I personally wouldn’t recommend companies that offer packages because they don’t always include everything and you can also end up being asked to pay additional costs to add things if they’re not a part of the package. Or they might not even offer things you want… As Sunny told me, many hotels offer ceremony packages, and hotel packages are fine, but they ask that you have a wedding coordinator.
- She knows great vendors, and this is so important! Flowers, venues, food, hair and makeup, music, wedding officiant, photographers, and a videographer… They were all SO wonderful 💓 I know “wedding magic” and “Hawaii magic” exist, but thanks to Sunny who recommended them, I’ll never forget this day ☺️. When I read posts from other brides, I do read about many stories where something goes wrong, but in my case everything went as I wanted and planned, and the guests loved it all too!!
- She is speedy! I had my wedding in the summer when it is a peak wedding season, but she never falls behind. If you contact her, she gets back to you immediately and after she consults you about your vision and budget, she starts the process for you asap so you don’t need to keep waiting restlessly about what’s happening next or when the planner will get back to you.
- Bonus! She’s trilingual. So if you ever want a wedding planner who can communicate with your or your guests in Japanese or Korean besides English, yup, you found the one.

One & Only/Sunny made our destination wedding in Oahu possible in the most beautiful, graceful way. As a full time working professional, I would’ve struggled to keep up with the timeline and moving pieces on my own. Sunny’s work ethic and communication gave me a peace of mind throughout the planning and also on the day of event. Sunny’s interactions with clients/vendors are professional yet personable. Sunny was mindful of budget, provided useful recs, and connected us to the right vendors. One & Only helped fit everything together; I’m so grateful for investing in and finding Sunny and the memories in Hawaii that I’ll cherish for a lifetime.
Sunny was absolutely wonderful to work with. I planned my wedding remotely, being in California, and never saw the venue until the day before the wedding. She listened well to what we wanted and made it even more. She helped me find cheaper alternatives and gave me ideas for décor, which when it came altogether, it was better than I could imagine. I was not stressed at all on the wedding day and was able to enjoy myself and have fun. Sunny was really good at communicating and answering my questions throughout the process and I cannot recommend her and her team enough.

We got married at the Halekulani Hau Terrace in July and were grateful to have Sunny Cho as our wedding planner and coordinator. Sunny brought so much expertise to the table, especially since she had gotten married at the same venue herself—she knew all the tips and tricks to make everything run smoothly and beautifully.
Planning a wedding remotely from out of state can be stressful, but Sunny made it so much easier. She gave us fantastic vendor recommendations. Sunny also had a collection of helpful items (like table number stands, card box holders, signage, etc.) that she let us borrow for the wedding, which saved us both time and money.
As a day-of coordinator, Sunny was truly exceptional. She handled everything seamlessly, allowing me (as the bride) to fully relax and enjoy the day.

I hired Sunny as my day of coordinator for my wedding. She was a pleasure to work with. Provided me with documents to fill out far in advance that provided some guidance on timelines throughout the wedding planning process as well as general timeline of how wedding day could go. She was very helping in picking up little details that I forgot or didn't even think of. On the day of she was wonderful. We had some hiccups and unexpected delays but she remained calm and was able to get everything back on track.
Sunny created the most magical day for the two of us, she is unbelievably kind, organized, helpful and funny.
We were fortunate enough to meet her before our planning begun where we got to tell her our vision and even go through some vendor ideas to see what we liked; we knew instantly that she was able to create what we needed for our special day.
Being a destination wedding in Oahu she was able to help us though the entire process from choosing a venue, vendors and day of planning all from the other side of the world. Her knowledge of the local vendors was incredibly helpful in creating the perfect day. We even had a personal matter pop up with one of our vendors and without hesitation she found a perfect replacement that caused no extra stress to us at all.

Sunny is hands down, an amazing coordinator/planner! One of the biggest things I knew I needed for our wedding was a coordinator to help take the stresses off my plate and let my husband and I enjoy our big day. And Sunny delivered! She is highly organized, friendly, professional, and prompt. Hiring her was one of our best decisions made. Shout out to her lovely assistant (whom I did not have a chance to catch her name) as well!
Before the Big Day: Sunny helped create my timeline, kept me organized with planning spreadsheets, and was always readily available to reply to my emails. She also helped with our rehearsal and had back up plans in case it was going to rain during our wedding (thank the Lord, the sun shined bright on our big day!)
The Day Of: Sunny made sure that I was stress free and handled any problems (if there were any) throughout my entire day. A lot of people told me before the wedding that I wasn't going to be able to eat because there will be so much going on, but not my case! Sunny made sure my husband and I was able to be served our food and ate our dinner in peace together. She was also so sweet enough to share some behind the scenes that she captured for us :') We give a million thank yous to Sunny for all that she has contributed to our wedding! Sunny is the best decision I made for my destination wedding. Considering I’ve never been to Hawaii and decided to throw a wedding in less than 6 months, Sunny was the best person for that. She will keep you updated at all times and is good at making sure you’re within your budget. She even went out of her way to DIY some of my things which turned out so perfect. She has such a kind and sweet soul, she was exceptional on the day of our wedding. Although our wedding day had list of issues caused by the venue, she handled them so gracefully and professionally. I loved working with her each step of the way and appreciate the control she let me have as well. I’m a hands-on type of person that likes to know everything and she respected that.Sunny is extremely communicative, has quick responses, and feels like family. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire Sunny as our wedding planner! From the very beginning, she was an absolute lifesaver. I could not have asked for a better wedding coordinator, Sunny is amazing and anyone to have hired her is beyond lucky. From the very beginning she made us feel so comfortable working with her. Not once did she make me feel like I was asking too much of her.
She was very accommodating to our requests/needs especially as we're planning a wedding out of state. Where do I start..
I have known Sunny for 2 years because we had to postpone our wedding because I ended up pregnant! So not only did she help plan my wedding once, but TWICE! Sunny didn't have to, but she was there with us when we did our site visit because we were from out of town. She also had an enormous amount of vendors to pick from. She is VERY organized and detailed oriented. She was always available via phone calls, texts & emails. She will send you a spreadsheet to be filled out to ensure nothing is missed for your big day. She was more like big sister that I never had. Saying goodbye to her after 2 years of communication was for sure bittersweet. Hire Sunny, you will not regret it!
I initially chose Sunny because she was the most affordable. I married into a Tongan family and Tongan weddings are something else, you have to experience it to understand it. We ended up way off schedule with the program running behind due to cultural protocols and Sunny made executive decisions to make everything run smoothly. She was also always there to help me as the bride in the most perfect moments where I needed guidance (like how to cut the cake). I highly reccomend her.

If you’re looking for one of the most friendly, organized, and detailed wedding planners Sunny is it!!! I was a destination bride from Georgia and wanted someone on the island with full planning because I wasn’t able to try out vendors, and Sunny did an absolutely phenomenal job. I shopped around with other wedding planning companies, but Sunny was the only one who contacted me right away and even spoke with me on the phone for an hour giving me helpful tips for the planning process despite me not even hiring her yet 😂 I felt very comfortable talking with her and sharing my vision, and she executed everything perfectly. The entire process was stressful for me but Sunny was able to handle everything and the day of could not have been any better 🥹 Hire Sunny you will not regret it!!!
Sunny and her assistant were truly amazing to work with during rehearsal and my daughter's entire wedding day. They made everything go smoothly. I created my daughter's 20 centerpiece floral towers and favors for 180 guests. Our venue had told us our set up time was cut short due to another party scheduled before the wedding. This left us with added stress as to having to set up and finish getting ready for our walk down the aisle around the same time. Sunny assured me that she and her assistant are very efficient and that we would be able to have everything set up for the reception on time. This brought so much peace to me. She was so incredibly helpful from the start all the way until the very last end of the night and really focused on the details, but especially on my daughter and my son-in-law and the bridal party. I was really impressed with them and highly recommend hiring Sunny if you are looking for an efficient and very caring wedding coordinator to ease the stress on that day. When my husband and I got engaged, we decided that we wanted to get married in six months’ time and that we wanted to do it in Hawaii — a place that neither of us had been to before and had no plans of going to until our wedding week itself. And that’s when Sunny came in the picture.
I know that deciding who to entrust your wedding day to requires a leap of faith for any bride, but in my case, there was an added level of trust required since I was going to be completely virtual throughout the whole process. Whoever I chose was going to be my eyes, ears, and even mouth. I had communicated with a couple of other wedding coordinators before speaking with Sunny, but within only a few minutes into our conversation, I knew that she was indeed the “one and only.”
First and foremost, it was her warmth and positivity. That was important to me as that was the vibe that I wanted my wedding day to have. However, as time went on, I of course grew to appreciate other things about her, such as: her honesty, her practicality, her knowledge and expertise, her professionalism, the open line of communication we shared, and most importantly, her genuine kindness and care. For me, the latter in particular, is priceless.
I also want to mention that one of the reasons why I was first interested in Sunny was the fact that she speaks both English and Japanese fluently. She ended up being a great help to my Japanese in-laws, as she was able to assist and explain things to them on both our rehearsal and wedding days.

If you are getting married- you NEED Sunny! We hired Sunny for her wedding planning and day of coordination services and we truly could not have the most perfect destination wedding that we did without her. Her knowledge and expertise in the field lended to the best recommendations for vendors. She was always available for a text or phone call to answer any questions, go over details, and even just to calm our nerves. Our wedding truly went off without a hitch- and if there were any issues that arose that day, I have absolutely no idea because Sunny handled everything. This allowed my husband and I to relax on our wedding day and just focus on getting married! Sunny Cho is one of the best in the business. We gave her a momentous task of helping us plan a 430 guest wedding + 100+ guest tea ceremony. As with any event planning, there are always challenges and obstacles that the couple needs to face and Sonny was gracious enough to walk us through every decision and make our wedding a success. She was patient and follow-up up with us to make sure we made our deadlines despite our business schedules as business owners.
Her professionalism and expertise really shined through on the day of the event. With a very packed timeline and a crazy family to attend to, Sunny was calm and collected through everything. She addressed a lot of our concerns with our guest count and her day of coordination team was very quick to resolve minor hiccups throughout the day. Let me just say that Sunny is absolutely amazing. A dream come true in terms of making our vision come to life and collaborating with her over the course of a little over a year. When my husband and I originally searched for a wedding planner, we interviewed at least 10-12 different companies/individuals. Sunny stood out to us from the first day. Right away, Sunny displayed her caring nature, her genuine passion for planning her client’s wedding, and a strong work ethic. She always had our best interests in mind from the very beginning. Every other company came prepared to throw packages and numbers at us, but with Sunny, it was like meeting up with a friend for coffee. She is so easy to talk to and was more interested in getting to know us, our vision, and how she could make that come to life. We knew we found our wedding planner the day we met her!
To speak on Sunny and her talents, she has amazing work ethic and didn’t ever grow tired of my and my husbands questions or concerns, which were few because she covers almost everything! She is so knowledgable and easy to speak/text/email with. On the few occasions she didn’t have an answer to our question, she would get back to us within a day or so. She always made us feel like her number one priority. We felt so comfortable and safe having her plan our wedding. Sunny was amazing! The most accurate word I can use to describe our entire experience is "easy." Sunny made everything a breeze. Being in CA and planning our wedding in Hawaii, we could not afford to be flying back and forth to see everything in person. She was super budget friendly and worked with us to help get us everything we needed! She was amazing leading up to the wedding and crushed it on the day of. She was able to coordinate everything from start to finish and it helped us focus on our wedding and our guests! I highly recommend booking Sunny for your wedding. She made sure that our day was stress free. Even though I don't live on the island, she reassured me that I was in good hands. She responded quickly and was very helpful whenever I needed advice. She helped me get more organized and helped me figure out what else I needed to get done. At first, I didn't think I needed a professional wedding coordinator but after talking to friends that were previous brides, it became apparent how valuable and stress-relieving having a coordinator would be. I found Sunny from One & Only Events through browsing for wedding coordinators on the Knot. She had great reviews and affordable pricing. She didn't have as many years of experience as other coordinators did through my research but I wanted to chat with her to learn more about her and her experience. Right away, I knew Sunny would be a good fit. She asked a lot of great questions and sent over a wedding planning spreadsheet shortly after confirming our contract. A few key things that she called out or recommended that were life savers were 1) recommending waitstaff when my caterer didn't have water or bussing services 2) offering to bring champagne glasses to make a champagne tower as I was not going to have a cake and 3) providing extra candles and candle holders for the reception tables. She was a great sounding board throughout the process and helped make things seamless on my wedding day. I recommend choosing Sunny to help make your wedding day super special. Mahalo!

Where to begin other than saying first and foremost; without Sunny, our wedding would not have gone as smoothly as it did!
My husband and I were of the mindset that we didn't need a wedding planner or coordinator, but broke under the constant "you should" from our family and friends. One of the difficulties that we brought to our wedding was that we live in Washington and our wedding was in Honolulu. Finding Sunny was one of the biggest blessings as we prepared for our wedding.
Anyone can mention how detail oriented, thoughtful, flexible and creative Sunny is, but where her true value shines is how kind and a joy to work with. Sunny was able to bring to our attention details that my husband and I did not really pay attention to or care about, but show examples of how even the tiniest of details can make a wedding from good to beautiful. The times we met up prior to the big day were filled with laughter and smiles, while making good use of our time. How Sunny was able to balance and manage all these things while constantly smiling was amazing.
One of my favorite things about Sunny is how she was able to calmly walk us through important details, such as working around our budget, timeline and difficult family members. Sunny also brings to the table her wide connections and recommendations to vendors, many of which we contacted and hired for our special day.
One of our favorite candid pictures of our wedding would not have been possible without Sunny. My husband and I opted not to do first look pictures, but rather wanted to see each other for the first time when I was walking down the aisle. While I was hiding from my Husband with my dad, Sunny provided large umbrellas for us to hide behind.
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that we would give Sunny an 11/10 easily. We would be recommending Sunny to all of our friends and family who needs help with planning a wedding or any event in Hawai'i.
I reached out to Sunny with a little over a month before the wedding, seeking a day of coordinator. Fortunately, she was available and we are so glad we hired her. Our wedding day would not have been half as good without her help. Her level of engagement with us was perfect for me, she took over primary communications with the other vendors and her handling of them was excellent, and she regularly provided great input and ideas as we were getting down to the wire with things. She was able to identify gaps and deficiencies in our preparations, provided solutions, and helped to keep us on track. Even as the day was approaching and we were still trying to lock down some vendors, Sunny was there to provide recommendations and offer whatever help she could. When the bustle on my wife's dress broke, Sunny came to our room to try and fix it. And I even appreciated that she was able to squeeze in an extra 5 minutes in our program so we could enjoy more of our meal. Considering what a Type A personality I am, all the little details I would normally worry about, I didn't have to because Sunny took care of them all. Even now, more than a month later, I still have moments of "wait, did '____' get taken care of?" and I realize Sunny did. Her expertise, knowledge, and skill was evident throughout her interactions with us. About my only regret is that I'm pretty much the last one of my friends to get married and I really have nobody personally to recommend her to, so I hope this little review of her will convince some of you to choose her.
I highly recommend Sunny for your wedding planning/day of coordinating needs! If you're like me and was on the fence about getting a day of coordinator your wedding, DO IT! you won't regret it! I had no stress on my wedding day because Sunny and her team was there to handle everything for me, which let me actually enjoy my wedding day and have so much fun getting married. That was the most important thing to me, I didn’t want to be bogged down with all the logistics and coordination on my wedding day. Sunny was right on it, she guided us through the day and the day goes by so quick, it was so helpful having Sunny there. She kept us informed of our timeline, when the next event was going to start, making sure we had time to eat and drink. Even before the wedding day, we had a meeting where she helped us create a timeline and asked about details we didn’t even think of. She also gave us recommendations for other vendors (like DJ, Hair/Makeup) that were within our budget and we wouldn't have found them otherwise (they were not advertising on theknot at the time). Sunny has a lot of experience and it shows, you won't be disappointed!
Hire her! Sunny is not only an organized, knowledgable and reliable coordinator, but she is kind, patient and she genuinely has your best interest at heart. I hired Sunny pretty quickly (about a month before my wedding) and I don't know what I would do without her. Her experience and initiative is extremely valuable. I even spilled on my dress and she literally ran to help me get the stain out. =). For those that think you don't need a wedding planner or day of coordinator, just hire her! I am so grateful to Sunny and her assistant for making sure my wedding was absolutely perfect! Sunny thought of every detail both in planning for the wedding to make sure we ordered just the right items and on the day of the wedding she brought extra items that I didn’t even think of such as a better cake stand and a bigger easel as well as baskets and a pen holder. Just the amount of care and thoughtfulness that she demonstrated made us so thankful that we chose Sunny to be our Day of Wedding Coordinator. This day would not have gone as smoothly without Sunny and her assistant. She helped with everything and even went the extra mile to make table layouts that were not part of the service we purchased. Kind, responsive, organized, reliable and such a pleasure to work with are just a few ways on how we would describe Sunny! We just had our wedding in Hawaii at the end of August and Sunny was our day of coordinator but had we met her sooner, we would have definitely gone with her to help us with more of the planning!
Sunny gave incredible suggestions when we were not sure about things such as flowers, center pieces, food, etc. Even though we only gave Sunny about a month or so notice, that did not phase her and was still so supportive! Hiring Sunny as our day-of-coordinator was the best decision we made for our wedding! She was put at a disadvantage since we hired her three weeks before the wedding. However she immediately got in contact with our vendors and asked in depth questions to ensure our wedding was exactly the way we envisioned it. She went above and beyond with her services through completely teaching us timing and how to stand for our wedding rehearsal, putting out our flower petals in the aisle, setting up each chair at the ceremony and each plate at our reception to have our wedding favors for everyone! She even suggested elements for our wedding that would make our wedding day better! She thought of every little detail and helped us with any last minute changes or requests and even helped us save money towards getting a speaker for our ceremony! She is such a caring and wonderful person and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!
