The venue itself was everything we could have asked for. The place looked great with minimal decorating needed. You have to use Abraham Catering as the sole food provider, however, they had many options to choose from and the food was great. We did not give them five stars because at the beginning of our relationship with One Thousand Dodge we had some trouble communicating with the coordinator. However, this was resolved as our day approached and we had no problems getting everything squared away.
Overall, very happy with the venue choice. The price was right and our coordinator worked with us diligently. Trouble is, we had 3 or 4 different coordinators (depending on how you count them) due to turnover and lack of availability. That being said, the one we worked with the most was great. The venue was perfect for what we needed. We were a little concerned that the floor plan was odd, but it worked out great and wasn’t a problem at all! We’d recommend One Thousand Dodge.
Great service! Answered my numerous questions and made everything go exactly according to plan. Great food in every price range. Chad rocks!!!
This venue is owned by Abraham Catering, and we chose it specifically because we wanted Abraham catering our wedding. The venue itself is gorgeous, very industrial chic. It is a blank slate that is so easily transformed into whatever vision you have for your wedding day. An added bonus is that you get the amazing customer service of the coordinators at Abraham Catering. Kara was amazing, and made our wedding day completely stress-free. We loved our One Thousand Dodge wedding!!
The space was great, probably wouldn't want more than 200 hundred guests. Everything was exactly how I wanted it to be. Coordinator did a fabulous job, aimed to please.
Apologies in advance for the long note—but figured this review is worthwhile writing so that someone could be informed in advance (unlike we were).
We had our wedding reception at 1000 Dodge in May 2017. The location is great and the venue itself is very cool—sort of industrial chic. The wait staff and the bartenders were so sweet and nice (we had a sit-down dinner/open bar). All that being said—the reason I wouldn’t recommend the venue is because of a number of issues and problems we ran into the night of our reception (definitely the worst time to have problems).
For our reception, we used both a Complete Music DJ (the exclusive DJ for 1000 Dodge) and an out of town band. We informed Elizabeth from the beginning about booking separate music. We knew we had to use a Complete Music DJ (part of the exclusivity clause) but picked the venue only because we were allowed to bring our own musicians in, too. In the contract I signed, 1000 Dodge states that there is a monitored decibel level—but no decibel number was listed. We were told by Elizabeth via email that our band must abide by the 90 decibel limit.
Fast forward to 4 days before the wedding. I went into Complete Music to meet with our DJ and discuss the timeline for our reception. I was early to our meeting so I talked to who I assume was the manager of the place. I told him about our reception plan—how we would alternate music from the DJ and the band. I was then informed that 1000 Dodge has had numerous noise complaints since opening--stemming from being a venue right underneath a $1M+ condo in the downtown area. I was told the owner of the condo would routinely come downstairs and complain about the noise during their wedding receptions. I was also told they spent a ton of money in soundproofing so none of this would be an issue at our reception (and he would come to our reception himself throughout the night to check the decibels and work with the musicians to adjust the sound, if necessary).
The night of our reception, Elizabeth, other staff members who I didn’t know, the security guard, etc.—were carrying around the decibel reader and coming up to me (the bride) on several occasions to tell me to tell the band to turn the music down. It was so embarrassing—I didn’t even think the music was that loud. It’s a wedding reception—we wanted to dance and hear music. At about 10:15PM our band completely shut off the music out of frustration, and the decibel reader that was left out on the empty DJ table read 89 decibels. Meaning, with no music on/playing and about 30% of our guests around—we were already at the max decibel limit.
Had I known I’d spend my reception fielding decibel issues, I would have chosen a different venue. We had an older crowd at our wedding—it was not wild/crazy at all. It was people trying to have a good time. And I was embarrassed at how the night turned out. I read other reviews about the venue that state it’s too loud, no sound control, etc.—and I feel like because of all of those bad reviews, we paid for it at our reception. It seems like we paid the price for their previous sound issues/lack of soundproofing.
I sent the above to the manager of 1000 Dodge and Elizabeth in June and I haven’t heard back. I would have at least appreciated a reply.
This space was perfect for our wedding reception! We had 171 guests attend and there was plenty of space - it never felt crowded. We worked with Elizabeth leading up to the event, and she was so attentive to all of our details and made sure everything was perfect. We loved the industrial feel of the venue, especially the huge windows. The food, catered by Abraham Catering, was also incredible! We had guests come up to us all night telling us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had! We highly recommend One Thousand Dodge!
Amazing to work with.
We had our ceremony and reception at Lucile's and could not have been happier. The planning process was super simple and the staff was extremely helpful. We did the hors d'oeuvre buffet and everything was delicious. It was perfect for our small wedding.
Beautiful location. All of my guests raved about the courtyard. Very friendly and accommodating staff!
