The views are amazing, the staff is friendly, and the wedding was wonderful. Tracy was so easy to work with and very responsive during the entire process. I am so very pleased that we chose this venue for our wedding!!!
One World Theatre is stunning and was a dream venue for our wedding. My husband and I loved celebrating our special day there, and are so appreciative of the kindness and patience Tracy Remlinger showed us from our first meeting. She is the sweetest person and made the venue feel so welcoming. We chose to have a short engagement with only a few months to plan the wedding, and OWT made this process so stress free and easy. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue is and how seamless the night was because of the amazing OWT staff and vendors they recommended. The whole experience was absolutely perfect!
Tracy and the team at One World were so accommodating! Making our wedding day perfect was in their best interest. Beautiful venue. Wonderful team! Highly recommend!
My husband and I could not have been happier with One World Theatre for our wedding. We chose it because of its perfect balance of the Hill Country feel and the proximity to the city, the many options available for ceremony and reception planning (plus a covered outdoor area), and its natural beauty.
We enjoyed working with Tracy, the event manager, and I don't think we could have pulled off the wedding without her! She was knowledgeable, amenable to changes, and quick to respond to all of our questions. We wanted a fun and memorable wedding, and Tracy and the team really ensured we had that. And because of the natural beauty of the venue, we were able to keep our decorations to a minimum - I didn't want to detract from what was already there!
Overall, we were very happy with the venue and the OWT team. Thank you!
We cannot say enough great things about this venue. Everything was so stunning beautiful and Tracy was awesome, the manager at one world theatre. She helped me pick out all the perfect vendors and they are what made our day so special! Their caterer they suggest is fantastic. You can be so creative and do whatever you want to the place. To say the least, it was the best night of my life!
One World Theatre is a gorgeous venue, and we loved celebrating our big day there! Tracy is the new manager for events, and she is absolutely outstanding to work with. She's punctual, responsive, communicative, and just easy to work with. The venue itself has alot of interesting places for photo opportunities and was able to fit ~250 guests. We thoroughly recommend this beautiful place!
My wedding at One World Theater on 3/19/2015 was absolutely amazing! I signed my contract with OWT in October of 2013. I am thankful that I planned so far in advance since I managed to pick the Thursday in the middle of SXSW. OWT is a music venue as well as a wedding venue, so I can only imagine what they could've booked instead of my wedding. They also had quite a few personnel changes during my planning process. I began the process with Albert, Tess, and Sophie who were all AMAZING, and ended with Tracy and Hartt who were both just as AMAZING. The venue is stunning and I got TONS of compliments on my choice of venue. There are multiple ways that you can have your wedding done at OWT. Its completely up to your tastes. The tented plaza is amazing because you can use it year-round. On the day of the wedding I met John the production manager and Matt (our golf-cart chauffeur). Both of these gentlemen helped make the day stress-free! My entire day went off without any issues!
I will recommend OWT to EVERYONE. My venue choice may have been the best decision I made out of all of my vendors!
Had our wedding here over the weekend and was disappointed. The bar manger was very rude and complicated to work with. Our guests were complaining about the terrible bar service. The music was a complete disaster. They played the wrong songs for the ceremony and didn't stop the music for the minister to speak. They also messed up the playlist during the bands break. It was embarrassing. It's a gorgeous venue for a wedding and very expensive so we expected a better experience for the amount we paid. We did have a wonderful wedding despite all the mishaps.
This venue is absolutely gorgeous! We loved everything about it. Sophie was great to work with and answered any questions I had leading up to the big day. If you use this venue, you have to use the theatre room as your dance part of the reception! It was a blast and for over 2 hours not one person sat down!! Very cool feel to it.
I would have given this venue 5 stars except we really wanted the sides off of the tent outside and instead of just doing it, they asked us many many times if we were sure and then even asked my wedding planner to ask us and then bothered me again at the rehearsal about it. It seemed to be an inconvenience for them and they didn't want to do it, but eventually they did.
Overall, this venue was AMAZING and absolutely perfect for us!
Could not have picked a more perfect place for my late April wedding! The view is just gorgeous, the space is the perfect size, and the theatre is a great spot for a late night party! The staff was also super helpful and easy to work with!
I wish I could recommend this venue. Our wedding coordinator, Sofie, was wonderful and had great ideas to help with the vision. The venue itself is soooo pretty! And we loved our wedding there. But...
It's hard to pinpoint what was disappointing and I don't have much to compare it to, but here are some specifics:
it seemed like any time we wanted to do something (hang up a mistletoe, for example) we were not allowed to do it.
We had a full bar and when we asked for a specialty drink (a tasting of eggnog following ceremony) we were quoted $4 a drink. I'm so sure we're going to pay another $700 so people can have a shot glass of $2 a gallon of eggnog. Pretty much told me they didn't really want to do it.
There was an issue with their tent. We spoke very early on about taking up one of the walls for the ceremony (before any contract was signed), and less then two weeks before the wedding, we were told that the people doing the draping said we could not open one of the walls for safety purposes. Why on earth was a contractor able to dictate that, and more importantly, why didn't One World know that was an issue? We didn't even have that much draping!
One of the wine servers told my mother right in front of me (clearly the mother of the bride) that she couldn't get my mom some wine because she was specifically assigned to the bride and groom. That's funny because up until that point she hadn't got me one drink.
I think my biggest complaint is that One World holds all the power and yet they have contractors do everything so they can place the blame on someone else. This disconnect doesn't make sense.
It is disappointing because it's such a beautiful venue. If you have money to throw at every problem you'll be fine. Otherwise look elsewhere.
I LOVED One World. The staff there was so great. They helped me design the perfect layout for my reception. They had lighting and sound experts there to make the ambiance perfect. They also hired TONS of bartenders so my guests never had to wait in line!
The One World Theatre is the most amazing wedding spot in Austin. Right in the hills in Austin, if you want a outdoor wedding this is the spot! The staff was super helpful and did not miss a beat!
One World Theater was awesome! They were so helpful with each detail and the venue is gorgeous!!
We picked One World Theatre because of location (my family grew up in Westlake) and because of the inside & outside options. The reception (our ceremony was at a chapel) was absolutely beautiful! The setup staff at One World is amazing and they carried out our every wish and beyond. The beer and wine package is extensive and was more than enough for our guests of about 225 people. The outdoor tent was completely perfect for our tables, band and dance floor, and made for stunning pictures. The only snag we had was coordination. The venue is amazing, but we had issues with coordinators at the site and ended up working with a wedding coordinator from a different company (Weddings by Kennedy). I wish we would have done that from the beginning to save some headache, but in the long run, everything was perfect! Our guests even said it was the best wedding venue they've ever been to!
Wedding: 60 guests, outdoor ceremony, indoor reception
This location was exceptionally beautiful and open while maintaining a private feel as well. The incredible views and hanging ivy made the place feel like a Spanish villa! After posting my photos online, many of my friends asked for the name of the location as a possibility for their own wedding.
Lisa was endlessly helpful in picking out linens and setting up the entire schedule and table layout. I really owe her one as I was planning the entire wedding from waaaay out of state!
I would recommend this place to any bride who wants a private wedding (under 150 guests or so)
We loved every single person we worked with - Cristin is an incredible planner. We cannot imagine a better experience. I've worked in the wedding planning industry, and the atmosphere, view, service, and overall experience was UNBELIEVABLE!
I was interested in touring the place and talking with someone about having a wedding here. It was disappointing to have contacted the venue and never hear back from them. It is a beautiful venue, but the service is not great!
When I look at the beautiful wedding pictures with the fabulous backdrop of One World Theatre for my daughter's wedding in July, it is not a pleasant set of memories that are evoked, when talking about the people there who were responsible for running our wedding and feeding our guests.
Who grabs your salad plate away when you have a forkful halfway to your mouth?
With a roomful of only 74 guests, how is it that most guest tables were still waiting for their main course, when the top few had long finished? Plus all the vegetables were cold...
Who allows the parents to pay for an open bar, then sets the bar up like a cash bar, which is the singlemost tacky thing I told them all through our planning talks that I didn't want?
What happened to our champagne toast that should have gone with the cake cutting? No champagne, and guests got no choice as to which flavor of cake (we had six).
They also rushed us through everything - first we have to wait in vain for our meal to be served in a balanced fashion - ie each table at least close to the same place in the meal as all the others (only 10 tables total, remember) and then when it came to the cake cutting, which should have been followed by a champagne toast, and served as dessert with coffee and tea (also made to look like part of the cash bar) - no such thing. Cakes are slung onto each table (guess for yourself, guests, which flavors you got) and the first dance is immediately announced. That was the point at which I realised I had had reason, after all, to worry about all my communications with them over several months leading up to the wedding. I had felt insulted, put down, sneered at, and certainly not treated as a paying customer over these preceding months when I tried to get information out of them about how best to use the premises. Oh yes, back to the premises - it's a lovely setting for a wedding. We chose it over 25 others we carefully looked at. But, having just touched on the problems that bothered me as mother of the bride, and not having the space here to discuss the problems that were mentioned to me during and afterwards by helpful guests and friends and family who attended the wedding, I just look at the beautiful wedding albums now and remember that these people are relying purely on the backdrop of One World Theatre to 'make up for' a lack of common courtesy, openness, helpful communication before your event, followed by a "we'll damn well run your wedding and give ourselves permission to cut corners as we see fit during your event" kind of attitude. Then AFTER the event, I thought to write to them and lay out the things they did that bothered me, but they didn't bother to respond, in any way.
So, I have to pass One World every day when I go out, as it is on my way to anywhere I usually need to go, and each Saturday that passes and I see no setting up for a wedding, I think to myself, 'oh good, at least another family isn't getting treated like crap there today'. "Course, it IS August, and not really wedding season, but whenever your wedding is, you do have a lovely-looking place to hold it, in One World Theatre, but pure ignorance and stand-offishness to deal with in the people. Oh, and you WILL love the food tasting session three months beforehand, but remember that it bears no relation to the service and quality on the night itself. Actually, come to think of it, the food tasting session was the only good thing about all my dealings with these peop
We had the best weather for our reception, and One World Theatre was such a great place to take advantage of that. Our cocktail hour was held in the theatre upstairs, then the majority of the night was downstairs in the courtyard.
The location was actually the first one I found online when I began my search for venues. I fell in love with it when we took our tour. It was gorgeous for photos and we were able to use all the space with our guests. The staff was very professional and organized and took care of every detail. I would recommend adding the coordinator the day of. It was a great add that made all the difference in the world for the little details. Everyone was helpful and accommodating. Worked well with our vendors. Definitely recommend this venue if your wedding size permits.
