Unfortunately, my husband and I were extremely disappointed with our experience working with Our Society Events after spending nearly a year planning our wedding weekend together. ...
We invested a significant amount of time discussing timelines, confirming details, and preparing for what we expected would be a seamless event.
However, both our rehearsal and wedding day felt disorganized, chaotic, and quite frankly were a disaster in our eyes. During the rehearsal, there was a clear lack of direction and coordination, which led to confusion and unnecessary stress for our bridal party. Several family members and friends even questioned whether this was their first time running a wedding.
What was most frustrating was the lack of follow-through on details we had already confirmed. For example, we had clearly discussed seating arrangements for immediate family at the rehearsal, yet the following day, team members asked those same relatives where they should be seated, as if those conversations had never taken place.
When we later shared our concerns, the response we received was disappointing. Instead of accountability, we were met with defensiveness and a series of excuses—such as running out of materials or misplaced items—which did not reflect the level of professionalism we expected. We were also told that some of our requests were “very specific,” which was surprising, as attention to detail is a fundamental part of event planning.
Additionally, there were unexpected and poorly communicated charges related to vendor meals for what was only a four-hour event. While we understand that providing meals can sometimes be standard practice, this was never clearly discussed or agreed upon in advance. The communication surrounding it felt passive-aggressive and inconsistent—especially given that not all vendors were accounted for equally. This further reinforced the sense that attention was being placed on the wrong priorities.
It was also disheartening to hear negative comments about other vendors, particularly when those vendors ultimately stepped in to help ensure the event ran successfully.
While our wedding itself turned out beautifully, that outcome was largely due to the efforts of our other vendors who went above and beyond to compensate where needed.
Based on our experience, we would strongly encourage future clients to carefully consider the scale of their event when choosing a planning team. Unfortunately, Our Society Events did not demonstrate the organization or capacity needed to execute a wedding of this size.

We take all feedback seriously, and we acknowledge that the rehearsal experience did not meet the standard we set for ourselves — with a bridal party of your size, we recognize in hindsight that our voice direction would have benefited from amplification, and we have already taken steps to address that for future events.
We do respectfully see some aspects of the day differently, particularly around the ceremony execution and the vendor communication that took place throughout the planning process. While we understand this experience felt frustrating, our intention was always to advocate for you and deliver a seamless event. We are proud of the work our team put into your wedding weekend and are sorry it did not fully reflect that in your eyes.
