They gave us tools to stay on track throughout our planning process, assisted in making our timeline, worked with our vendors for us to take some work off our plate. On the day of, Nik was so helpful to us and our parents - making sure we always had a drink in hand without going to the bar, saving apps for us in the bridal suite and everything in between. e planning process. They put the floral order in too late, meaning we found out our very expensive centerpieces would not be executed as expected just 3 days before the wedding. The final version was very different from the inspiration provided and promised - see the differences in the attached pictures - our inspiration picture is the one with the full branches and lights. Not to mention, they tried to charge us $400 extra for the backup centerpiece solution. Finally, we relied on them to advise on the appropriate size of the stage for the number of people it would hold, along with furniture also sourced from Ovation. On the morning of the wedding, the groom was pulled away from pictures and our guests to help decide to remove the floral archway from the stage so that everyone could fit. Note, this archway was also sourced from Ovation. Ultimately, the entire ceremony was disrupted by the crowded stage. One final disappointment - also 3 days before the wedding, we were contacted by the "finance department" with an abrupt notice that they would be pausing all work on our wedding until the final invoice was paid. It turns out, Ovation sent two invoices for the exact same amount, due on the same date, which explains the oversight. Odd and not particularly customer friendly to organize invoices this way. While Ovation did try to overcome some of their early disorganization with free adds to the decor, it really didn't make a difference as they still ended up botching the key elements of the final execution. Would not recommend or work with them again.

my complete lack of vision, Kayla spent hours looking through photos with me, making suggestions, showing me different ideas and learning (And teaching me about) my tastes. I was planning a fusion wedding and I knew I wanted it to be different from other fusion weddings I’d seen. Kayla rose to the challenge incredibly, helping me iron out which details to incorporate from each culture, and how to make sure we had the right decor pieces for everything.
I was trying to put things together from out of state, and had COVID hit right before my wedding. Throughout the entire process of cancelling my big wedding, to ultimately deciding to have a smaller, more intimate affair, Kayla was my first phone call, even before my wedding planner!
She executed the most breathtaking decor I could have ever imagined, paying attention to the tiniest details. She created my bouquet and my bridesmaids bouquets and made them stunning. We got so many compliments on how beautiful everything was, and we kept telling everyone that it was all Ovation Decor. Her patience, vision, and raw talent are second to none. I interviewed at least 8 of the most prominent decor vendors in the Chicago area, and none of them paid attention to my vision (or helped me create a vision) like Kayla did. And when my wedding planner quit on me last minute, Kayla was there to the rescue, introducing me to J2R Events. For every single thing I needed, whether I knew I needed it or not, Kayla was my girl. She is immensely talented, and works harder than anyone I’ve met in the wedding industry. She’s a beautiful human, inside and out, and I am so so so grateful to have met her. The only thing better than Kayla herself is the stunning designs and scapes she turns from imagination into reality. Simply put, she’s an artist, and I am in awe of her ability to transform a boring white tent into a fairy tale escape.
