Let me start by saying everything worked out for my wedding and it all turned out gorgeous. However, the unresponsiveness of the employees nearly gave me an ulcer. I was planning my long island wedding from Los Angeles, which was extremely stressful, especially when I could not get in touch with my rental company.
When I first hired Paige Marion, I was working with a different owner named Scott. He seemed great, was responsive, creative and willing to work with my budget.
A few months after hiring him, I reached out to check in and make some changes. I got NO response. After calling the numbers online, finally I received an email from someone by the name of Amanda. She had the wrong wedding date for me, and the proposal she had was more costly than what Scott and I agreed on. I had my original contracts, so no problem that was rectified. Then all of a sudden Amanda stopped responding. I think she went on maternity leave. Ok. Now I meet Stephanie who is a new owner. She's great on the phone, apologizes and promised everything will be great moving forward. I met with her when I was in NY, we went over everything. However, anytime I emailed her it took an obscene amount of time to get a response. I would also get excuses that she wasn't getting the emails because of a server issue. Ok? Not sure about that. Then Stephanie becomes unresponsive and I'm left to deal with her husband Mike. I sent my mom and sister to meet with Mike when we got closer to the wedding. He told me and them, several times "dont worry, I got it." I felt better in the moment but was still weary of them. Once I got his email, he always responded but half answering the questions.
Then come wedding week. I was constantly checking in with Mike to make sure everything would be delivered the night before. I end up getting a number for a guy named Scott (different Scott than the original) who is in charge of the lighting and delivery. He was very good and on top of things. I wish he was involved earlier on.
However, they made mistakes in the delivery. They brought three wine barrels instead of four. Then, I ordered a decorative door to sit on top of two barrels for a welcome table. They brought the wrong top. I told Scott, and he rectified it before the wedding.
Ultimately everything worked out. All the tables and chairs were awesome and gave the rustic feel. The problem is, it was non stop unresponsiveness and changes of leadership. Even day of, things were wrong. If I was not on top of them, who knows what else would of gone wrong. Its really just not fair. No one, especially a bride should be that stressed when hiring someone.
Had an unfortunately unpleasant experience with this company for our October wedding. Things began well enough - we worked with Paige Marion to rent some farm tables and gold flatware to enhance our wedding decor. They were initially responsive and helpful and had exactly what we needed. Unfortunately as we got closer to the wedding, the company became less and less responsive. Numerous phone calls and emails were sent to get in touch with them to ensure delivery of our items and to make our final payment, most went without response. The day of our wedding, our wedding coordinator informed us that the farm tables that were delivered were unusable - the legs of the tables did not go into the tabletops. Luckily, our wedding coordinator was able to rig one of the tables to stand up so that we had the cake table we needed, but unfortunately, the other table was completely useless. Our wedding coordinator contacted Paige Marion several times the day of our wedding to try to get the situation rectified. She attempted email and phone, and has to this day (writing this on October 16th, our wedding was October 7th) has not received a return call or email. I too have reached out several times to Paige Marion requesting assistance and have not been contacted. While the flatware we rented was perfect for our occasion, it was not worth the headache of dealing with this unresponsive company and the time we are now forced to spend to try to recoup money spent on unusable decor. There are plenty of wonderful rental companies on Long Island (in fact, we used others at our wedding that were phenomenal). I would recommend staying away from Paige Marion and going elsewhere.
Paige Marion delivered 100% what we could have wanted and more for our wedding day on 4/15/18. They provided a two post arbor with curtains and bistro lighting behind the arbor and over the dance floor, two wine barrels, place card holders, a card box, table numbers, and a rustic DJ booth palate. Everything was so beautiful and gave a truly romantic vibe, we received endless compliments. Before the ceremony and reception even began, they texted me that morning to show me a picture of how everything was being set up to reassure me it looked how I had Envisioned! I highly recommend Paige Marion rentals to take your wedding to the next level.
Despite some of the things that may have gone on with Paige Marion in the past, there was a change in ownership shortly before our wedding. Glen was paired up with us for our wedding decorations. Glen was thrown in there with not a normal situation that one working in this environment would want and flourished magnificently. With all the difficulties put in his way he worked his behind off to do everything he could to meet deadlines, to get all the decorations up (and might I say there were amazing), and to add all the little things we wanted. We are very happy with everything that was done and our wedding was amazing. Thank you!!
I had a terrible experience with this company - if you don't want to be stressed right before your wedding scrambling to find a new props company than do NOT work with Paige Marion. I reached out in April to book props/set up for my wedding in October and they charged me twice in error and never responded to my emails. I followed up numerous times requesting props options and 2 months later was advised the previous person I was working with left the company and they would assist. Never received a response after that with numerous follow ups. I am now 10 days away from my wedding and still have yet to receive a response on decor options. They responded once confused again saying they didn't charge me twice which I followed up for the 3rd time (even though the same email chain shows Paige Marion apologizing for overcharging me) attaching my credit card bill. Still no response regarding decor ideas. WORST decision to work with these people - I am telling my venue our experience as they initially recommended them. Unfortunately minimal reviews online to warn people.
Posting my final review on Paige Marion since nothing is being resolved, enjoy!
I met with Paige Marion in the very beginning of my wedding planning. A few things I knew for certain that I needed to rent from them for my big day was a beautiful four post white birch arbor with a chandelier, & white draping, wine barrels for my cake and card box, a seating chart done on old vintage doors as well as ceiling draping in or reception space. We added all of this and more to the contract and paid in full prior to my wedding date although they claimed I owed money when I did not at one point. Scott was amazing from day one, he was very knowledgable and I felt this was one vendor who really knew what they were doing, and was passionate about it too. Day of my wedding comes and the arbor was a dinky 2 post arch looking set up - NOTHING like what was promised or in my contract or like what he showed me previously. The ceiling draping was also not provided for my reception which totally killed everything about my reception room. The items not provided cost a total of $3000 which was half of our final bill. I have tried contacting Scott Connell, the representative who was with me every step of the way and he didn't respond for weeks. After threatening legal action he wrote back saying he had left my wedding and left the draping up to someone else. He claimed the venue rushed him (no kidding its a wedding). He said he confirmed the 2 post arbor with someone who had no authority to do so. These are horrible excuses but nothing is worse then the fact that he is refusing to refund my husband and I the $3000 he owes us for not fulfilling his end of the contract. He told me he was contacting his lawyer regarding my reviews on him, which is just another excuse to push me away for more time. I am extremely disappointed by how unprofessional he handles himself and his business. We feel like we have been robbed $3000,
and on what day .. the most important day of our lives. Stay far away!
I thought the supplies that Paige Marion had were fantastic. The overall setup of my backyard wedding was perfect. There were a few roadblocks along the way, and I think it because the business is growing very quickly. Midway through the process, I no longer could reach Scott (the owner of the company), and then he assigned an assistant. The assistant was great, but it seemed that there was a lack of communication about what we wanted. A few months earlier, we did a walk-through of the property with Scott, and he gave his recommendations. We were planning the wedding from another state, and when Paige Marion arrived to set up, no one knew where anything went (despite the walk-through with Scott), and they did not bring enough lighting (even though I gave a sq footage of the tents 3 months prior). They initially told me that they would have to charge for more lighting because we said that there would be only 3 tents, but when I pulled up the email that proved that I communicated what the sq ft of each tent would be, they apologized and corrected the error. The assistant apologized, saying that she was embarrassed that this was so disorganized. I think that if someone was to hire Paige Marion now, and had an assistant from the start, there would not be any issue. Therefore, I would recommend the company because of the unique and beautiful stock of rustic/wooden furniture/decor, but I hope that it becomes a little bit easier to work with.
I can't even express how amazing of a job scott did. We got married at flowerfield in st. james. When we had our first meeting with scott at flowerfield to discuss what idea we had for rentals and decor he was right there with us telling us his ideas and we could see how excited he was. He was a wonderful guy to work and plan with. Every idea we had he worked it with us. For our ceremony, i didnt want to see what it looked like until i actually started walking down the aisle. When i first saw everything my breath was taken. I was charlie and how everything was set up, it was like a rustic fairy tale outside for our ceremony. Scott was the best to work with and everything he did was amazing.
