I came to Reda, the banquet manager of Pantagis, less than two days before my planned event date. We were panicking as our original park picnic canceled due to rain. They offered us a ballroom with an open wall that adhered to safety and Heath guidelines. They arranged everything to our liking and gave us total freedom in seating. We didn’t even have to worry about centerpieces, they arranged vases with flowers for us. A custom cake with lavender icing was made in house & planned the matching linens. They even coordinated a champagne toast on our behalf (we had no time to think of this so they did some thinking for us). We were able to have an amazing engagement party with food and an open bar that everyone enjoyed. All my guests had a blast & thought it was such a beautiful place. The staff was so kind and accommodating. They brought me a personalized meal & reminded me to eat when they found out I was pescatarian! I couldn’t believe what we were able to pull off in literally under 48 hours. I’m still shocked. Amazing local venue that works with families under the most unusual circumstances to make them happy. Reda is a rockstar and a kind soul and I would gladly work with him again ❤️ thank you to everyone who made this possible at an incredibly reasonable price.
Thank you for the reviews. Now i know to stay away. Pity, it looks nice.
Pantagis was the most absolutely stellar venue we could have asked for.
The cost of the venue was so incredibly reasonable for the actual time and effort that they spent with us. We had a lot of strange requirements, and they were not only accommodating, but they were also so excited to participate.
Our wedding included a sword fight, all of our wedding party and several guests wore swords, and our wedding staff were enthusiastic about the entire thing. They even served appetizers off of two old swords we weren't going to use.
The cost per person was such an incredible value. I cannot believe how good the food was, and they served everything with a smile on their face.
I cannot recommend this place enough. We're going to be using them for our fraternity and sorority events in the future.
Even if you don't use them, I would suggest going to the restaurant for brunch if you've got time!
Pantagis was the first and last Venue my now Husband and I visited after getting engaged.
The good locations, beautiful interior design, unbeatable prices and the professionalism of Kostantine (the person who we talked about having our wedding there) were enough for us. But after closing the deal we tried the food and YUMMIE! We were even more sure that we have found the perfect place.
The months before the wedding we had our every question answered and the weeks before they took care of ours every need, even our special requests since we had a Harry Potter wedding.
On our wedding day Al made sure everyone was happy and everything was perfect. They even gave special food for a very pick grandma.
I have no other words to say but THANK YOU to Konstantine, Al and the entire Pantagis team. We sure are coming back for future parties and dinner at their restaurant. Try their Lobster Ravioli and Red Sangria, they are to die for!!!! (and don’t like lobster or wine)
They are the best deal you will get with all included in NJ! It doesn't matter if you want a Friday, Saturday or Sunday wedding, on Winter or Summer!
I am beyond satisfied and my guests only have compliments to the team, venue and food.
Pantagis was amazing. Konstantine and Al were so attentive to our desires and wants for our wedding reception. They anticipated our every need and ensured that we were going to have the best reception ever. We had the Mediterranean room with 200 guests and buffet style dinner. Our guests are still raving about how good the food was. Also with 200 guests and 2 buffets, in a hour all guests was fed with no issues or long lines for the buffet. The food was endless. The open bar was a hit and there was never a long line for drinks! Also the 5 tier red velvet wedding cake was so delicious and most and everyone loved the ice cream sundaes. My maitre d was amazing. She made sure my husband and i was fed and was on schedule for pictures. All the while Konstantine and Al was both making sure that my day was perfect. I love this place and recommend it 100%
Still receiving many compliments from our guests about the great food. Banquet manager Reda was awesome. Maitre d was detailed and professional.
We worked with Al DiRienzo and he was so helpful and honest with the whole process. He went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding was just perfect. The staff that we worked with during the wedding were also great! They were so helpful and made sure that we were calm, collected, and that things were perfect. The food was absolutely delicious as well! We highly recommend this venue to everyone!
We had a wonderful spring wedding at Pantagis this weekend. Our family has been going to Snuffy’s for dinner for decades, so it only made sense to have it here. From the start, Konstantine was detail oriented and available. Al also stepped in and made sure we were taken care of on our special day. The entire staff made us feel truly celebrated.
This helped ensure that things went smoothly the day of, which they did. The venue is affordable, yet classy and beautiful. The architecture, the wood, the stained glass, and the staircases gave a great ambience. We were in the Renaissance Room, which is all glass windows, giving the room a lot of natural light.
The food was delicious at the wedding, particularly the prime rib and the suckling pig. Our head waiter, Rkvia, was both sociable and attentive. From the start, she made us feel comfortable and kept us filled with food and drink. We actually got to eat at our own wedding! Other family members also commented on the friendliness and attentiveness of the other waitstaff.
Thank you, Pantagis, for making our special day truly special!
THANK YOU PANTAGIS FOR A WEDDING THAT WILL GO DOWN AS "ONE FOR THE BOOKS" The wedding went flawless and our room was beautiful. A special shout out to Al DeRienzo and his staff for making our day perfect! Nicholas and I can't thank you all enough! Al was everywhere and anywhere we needed him. Everyone kept saying how amazing and attentive he was. Thanks again Pantagis and AL!
Pantagis Renaissance is a beautiful location. We worked with Al DeRienzo and he was just wonderful. Everything was perfect. He went above and beyond for us. I had vegan guests and he made sure they had delicious vegan meals. The service we received was phenomenal. I highly recommend booking Pantagis for your next event!
Our winter wedding last night was everything we could imagine and more! Konstantine was absolutely amazing with the planning, communication, and execution (with the help of Antonio, Al, and the whole staff) of our lovely reception! Food and our cake were AMAZING, and all the vendors Pantagis recommended to us that we used were also incredible! So incredibly lucky and grateful to have worked with such great people that made our special day extra magical. Would recommend Pantagis to anyone!
Pantagis was the perfect venue for our wedding. We worked with Valerie who was AMAZING. She took care of us, dealt with our total disorganization, and kept the process going. She saved our butts a few times too-- I cannot speak highly enough about Valerie.
The wedding chapel we used on site was stunning. Actually, the entire venue is stunning and will give you great photo locations. The bridal room was really nice (I wish there was a bathroom in it, but what can you do), and there was a great spread of fruit, cheese, appetizers, soda and champagne waiting for us after the ceremony. We joined our party after the cocktail hour was over, but everyone was RAVING about the food-- people were joking that they didn't have room for the rest of the meal. We sat down for salad, followed by pasta followed by a plated meal... I was too busy talking and dancing to eat, but I heard everything was delicious.
You truly cannot beat the value or the amazing staff. I HIGHLY recommend Pantagis, and will happily come back in 20 years or so for our kid's bar/bat mitzvah.
My husband and I got married here on November 12, 2016. From the beginning, we have been working with Constantine at Pantagis. Constantine is AMAZING to work with and he made the experience exceptional. He was so sweet, knowledgeable, and always guided us in the right direction. I don't have enough great things to say about this guy!
On top of that, the food was amazingly delicious, our wedding cake was perfect, the venue was gorgeous! Our family and friends had such a wonderful night, it was perfect and I would not change anything about it! I can't thank Constantine and Pantagis enough for making our night so special and a memory we will never forget!
Here's what you need to know...
After a lot of searching, we found Pantagis and sat down with Al De R. (accepted us walking in w/o an appt.). He told us what they offered and prices were clearly stated. Our package included alcohol package, cocktail hour, buffet, and cake/desserts. The price was UNBEATABLE. We were satisfied with the menu and Al's attitude and chose Pantagis to host our reception.
Some key selling points... deposit was required upon signing of contract however balance wasn't due until 3 days prior (great for those last minute cancels), overall value was incredible, they don't offer taste testing HOWEVER Al was kind enough to offer us a free meal, they offer several vendor options that work exclusively with them (you'll receive discounts), nice ambience, very easy for guests to get to (right off of major highway) and there is a hotel nearby for guests to stay.
Communication was pretty good with the Al. If he wasn't available, he would call us back promptly. We found it VERY easy to communicate with him and the staff there.
As the BIG day got closer, communication became more frequent and pleasant. We received reminders for what was needed and had several sit downs to talk about anything we needed to. There was one small hiccup with a charge that wasn't initially on the contract we signed HOWEVER Al De remedied the situation and it was no longer an issue.
Wedding Day.... It went by so fast that it's hard to recall everything, however... We had the reception in Le Dome (N/C upgrade because our other, smaller room wasn't available). Cocktail hour was in Le Dome while wedding party had ours in a smaller room. The staff was EXTREMELY accommodating and seemed to be waiting on us hand and foot. We were pleasantly surprised by that. Not only that, Al De was with us the entire evening literally catering to our every need. INCREDIBLE. The food was outstanding and MANY of our guests said it was one of the best receptions they've been to. Everything seemed to be well organized and most importantly, FUN. The tables were set-up beautifully and the room looked great!
Overall: I don't think we could be more pleased about the reception. We looked at several other venues that were MORE expensive and offered way LESS than Pantagis. I cannot stress enough how good the value was. It feels like we stole money from them compared to the other venues, some with outrageous prices.
BOTTOM LINE: We were happy with Pantagis. It seemed too easy and less complicated than it should be but that's the way it should be in our opinion. The venue should be doing all of the work and helping you along the way. There is so much to worry about that having one less thing on your plate is a HUGE deal. We were completely satisfied with them and would recommend them to anyone who wants a fun, easy and pleasant wedding day!
Pantagis has been where my family's gone and gotten married for generations, so of course it was a no brainer that I would get married there too. I spoke on the phone with a lady named Valarie she is amazing, she basically help us put it all together, but it was like once Valarie passed anything off to anyone it just fell apart. Our matridee was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL His name was Ahkmed he was so bad at his job he was rude terrible at communication and almost had me and my husband see each other right before walking down the aisle! He ruined our cake cutting ceremony. I could go on for ever about him. He Also serveved us bad shrimp. All in all pantagis is a beautiful place and Valarie was amazing, just watch out with who your matridee is.
For all the just engaged couples coming to this page to read some reviews to chose a place for their wedding... Stop looking, you just found the perfect place for your perfect wedding!
From the beautiful architecture to the amazing food, I couldn't recommend this place more! We just got married and Pantagis was our magical place for a magical night with our family and friends from all corners in the world.
And the people there are just amazing! Konstantine was our coordinator but he was so much more. A friend, a fixer, our right hand and the friendly face that made us sure everything was going to be ok! I'm giving them 5 stars, but I wish I could give them 5 million stars.
And oh, let's not forget to mention we lost 2 envelopes with guests gifts during the reception... The next day we called and they had found them and kept it in a safe place for us :)
Excellent from the planning to the end. Tom is the best and the staff catered to our every need. I was the best experience.
Pantagis Renaissance was the perfect place for a wedding o April 12th 2014. They have an on-site chapel and their package included everything! Konstantine and his staff were so professional and accomodating. On the day of my wedding everyone made sure that things went perfectly and as planned. It was a one stop shop for me....Wedding, reception and pictures all in one location. Really cuts back on the stress factor! great food, great staff and for the prices they charge you really can't beat it. I would recommend to anyone having any kind of event where they need great food and professionalism.
I had both my ceremony and reception here in febuary. The place is gorgeous and my wedding was beautiful but there were a few issues. For example there was a leak in the cealing of the ceremony room. The maitre dee was new so he was completely un-organized duringvmy ceremony music came blasting in from a sweet 16 party downstairs and he only asked them to turn it off after my grandmother yelled at him to do something. Then at the cocktail hour the chaffing dishes weren't even hot and had to be heated up. My poor uncle cut his hand on the railing because all the glass was broken. The maitre dee didn't put out any of the props I gave him for the photobooth nor did he place the table numbers on the right tables and it took them 20mins to figure out where all of the guests were sitting. I was unaware of all of this at the time because I was getting my pictures taken. The dinner was okay because the sald was dry and tasted like it sat out all day. None of the waiters spoke english so they didn't understand what you asked of them. The open bar was good but really small and got crowded quickly However my dj was amazing and made the party great for everyone if I didn't have them the night probably would have been adisaster. I find it odd though that 6 years ago when we had my husbands sister's wedding there it was amazing but then again they had the buffet and a different maitre dee. Oh well it was a great night though regardless of the set backs
I chose Pantagis Renaissance because I wanted to have the wedding of my dreams at a venue that would provide quality service and good food without breaking the bank. Well I found it at Pantagis!! Al was amazing from start to finish, no matter what I asked him the answer was always sure no problem, whatever you want. Everything was perfect!!
Al D made sure everything was taken care of. The food was delicious and the staff was amazing!I planned the entire wedding from out of state and couldn't be more pleased with the results.
The Pantagis was amazing!!! We were able to have the elegant wedding of our dreams for half of the price! The event coordinating staff was wonderful/ very cooperative, in that hey work with you to find out what your envisioning and then help make it happen, while guiding you as to what you need to provide along the way. The venue provided catering, made the cake, did the decorations as well as the centerpiece so there was no need to search for vendors. The service was very welcoming and polite and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get married in the near future.
Our wedding was on November 3, 2012. Hurricane Sandy hit our area in a terrible way, but our church was able to have the ceremony. However, Pantagis did not have power and had to cancel the reception. We understood that, but then they refused to give us a refund. They said they would credit our full payment toward "another party". This was not just a party for us, this was our wedding reception. They said that the contract wording regarding an "act of God" basically makes them not responsible. We cannot believe this! All of the other vendors worked with us or gave us refunds. We are still trying to find a resolution to this incredible situation.
My name is McKenzie May. My husband and I recently married on November 3rd and despite our reception canceling on us, we managed to have a wonderful day thanks to family, friends, and our church. However, one black cloud remains over our heads from that day: the money we paid to our reception hall: Pantagis Renaissance in Scotch Plains New Jersey. We paid in full and early. They canceled on us with less than 48 hours notice. Thank god for our church, because we were able to have a wonderful time in the catholic school gymnasium. I actually think that it turned out better than the original reception would have. Our friends and family banded together to cook food, decorate, clean-up, and make our day extra special. Pantagis has done nothing but give us the run around since they called to cancel on us.
I am sure that you are going to ask me what my contract stated:
It states that Pantagis is excused from performance in the case of Acts of God.
It states that if we cancel the reception, we are entitled to 2/3 of our money back.
It states that we did not have to pay until 3 days before the reception took place. We paid on 10/15. A full 19 days in advance. If we had waited until the 3 day mark, Pantagis would have walked with our deposit and we would have kept the rest of our money.
My husband Jesus and I are extremely upset over the potential loss of almost $10,000. We both work hard and do not have money just to throw around. We were paying for our own wedding. I work as a special education teacher and he works as a custodian at our local high school. It is also where we met and fell in love btw. Pantagis had the nerve to tell us that we could have a really amazing 1st year anniversary party. What teacher that you know has $10,000 to spend on a "really amazing" 1st year anniversary party? None that I know.
What else has Pantagis done?
They have gave us the run around about a refund and have no out right refused.
Our wedding planner/ part owner of the establishment is always "with a client" when we call... even when I expressly ask beforehand if she is free.
The general manager promised that he would speak with the owners this week and come up with a figure for us. When I called him today, friday, he claimed that he had never said that and the I either misheard or made it up. Seriously????
The general manager claimed that all the food for my reception was ruined by hurricane Sandy. That means that Pantagis had all my food at least a week in advance. Am I not entitled to fresh food and isn't that what insurance is for anyway???
When I finally spoke with Maria (part owner of Pantagis), she was incredibly rude, interrupted me constantly, and refused to do anything but offer us another party. She said we could charge people to come to our party to recoup our expenses. Aren't there legal issues with that??
Thank you for your time
Pantagis gave my husband and I a night we will never forget. The service was excellent and the food and drinks were endless. I still have guests telling me it was the best wedding they have ever been to. I am so happy we chose to book our wedding with them and only hope to have more events there in the future.
Horrible experience! They were rude to my guests and one even found a hair in her soup. When she tried to return it they refused. The waitstaff wouldn't be quiet during our speeches. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone!!
I had a horrible experience here on my wedding day! The waitstaff was extremely rude. When my aunt asked for extra coffee, a waitress cursed at her under her breath. The food came out cold and two guests returned their food because they foudn hair in their food. The bathrooms were falling apart.... and worstly, we could hear people speaking outside our room while we were trying to give our speeches. Save yourself the hassle and do not get married here. You will regret it!
We chose Snuffy's because my in-laws had their reception there over 20yrs ago. Place was gorgeous. Fit 200+ people. Food was great! Selection for the price was outstanding. Staff was so helpful and we didn't have a worry about the ceremony, pictures & reception all on site.
My husband and I married at Pantagis on July 21st. Our ceremony was in Chapel One and our reception was in the Renaissance room. We had a wonderful time and I wanted to leave a testimonial to recommend this venue because they did such a great job. We worked with Jackie throughout the planning process and she was amazing! She always got back to us immediatly and must have met with us a hundred times. She always worked with us and I never felt like I was being sold something or pressured. We used Dan as an officiant and he kept everything very smooth and sweet, he is just a wonderful man. Octavia was our head person and that girl was on point all night, it was remarkable how perfect she was from tissues to holding my train to getting me anything I needed she was a huge help on my special day, I don't know what I would have done without her. Al was our Matre De and his personality was just a joy to be around. The food was great, the service was great and the prices were beyond great. I loved this place and if I had to do it all again (if only I could :/) I wouldn't have changed a thing!
nice place for a wedding only draw back is you feel very rushed and if you need longer, lets say things didnt go as planned which was my situation then you have to get the owner involved. but all together a good expierence.
It is a great place dont get me wrong.. But you have to provide EVERYTHING.. they didnt even have an extention cord!.
We were married on probably one of the most busiest days of the year (11/11/11). You would never know that Pantagis Renaissance had a full house and other weddings going on - the service was phenomenal, and the food excellent.
Throughout the planning process, our banquet manager, Jac'Lynn, was extremely helpful, patient, and offered great suggestions. On the wedding day, our Maitre' D, Al, was spot on! He kept everything moving along, and made sure everyone was taken care of with a kind smile. Our Captain made sure we were having fun and kept our plates and drinks full, and even fixed my veil and helped with my dress.
The venue is absolutely beautiful - with the wood, the marble, and the stained glass, the two lovely staircases, and the beautiful lobby, you don't find many places that offer such beauty and elegance. We are both so very happy that we chose Pantagis as our wedding venue - our day was everything we wanted it to be!!! Thank you to all of the staff at Pantagis Renaissance!!
If you need a beautiful place to have your wedding, where the staff is efficient and hardworking, where the location is easy to get to, and the food is unparalleled, go to the Pantagis! We wanted to do it with a quick turnaround time (6 months). I had heard of Snuffy's and was a little confused because I didn't want a reception at a bar. But its NOT a bar! Its a banquet hall people! I only had to check out 3 places and knew right away- I needed to call Jackie at the Pantagis STAT.
After an hour, we had almost ALL the details worked out! Why? Because Jackie never says "no". She always says, "Let's see what we can do." And then they work their a**es off to make it happen! I had 5 hours open bar, including the cocktail hour (10 passed hors d'oeuvres!), shuttle service to the nearby Murray Hill Inn, a 4 course meal, champagne toast, red velvet 4 tiered cake and a bridal suite for UNDER $100/head! And every time I had a question during the planning process (which was a lot), I would call or email Jackie, who responded before I could even blink! A week before my wedding, everything was already in place, payments were made and I could focus on myself because I knew Jackie had it all handled.
Oh, and you brides who are worried about you pictures being ruined by weather- DON'T WORRY! The Pantagis is beautiful indoors, complete with romantic winding staircase and stainglass windows and ceilings. So yeah, it did rain (torrential downpour) but I completely forgot because I still got awesome pictures. And as for the food- OMG!! It was so great, we had our rehearsal dinner there the night before!! And we've had dinner there since!
When you're ready, talk to Jackie- she's my favorite coordinator there. She's never pushy and it never feels like a salespitch with her. She listens and gets to know you and will do her very best to get what you want. So that on that most important day, you just have to show up and be beautiful! Let Jackie handle the rest.
We love you Jackie!
So, this is long overdue, I know. My husband and I have been married 6 months, and it took me until now to write this. But to be fair, its because we've had a wedding a month since.
I recently had my wedding here. My total budget for the wedding was under $10,000. I did not want to or have a penny over that to spend. Snuffy's was great value. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the cocktail hour. We had a sit down dinner for about 75 per person. I was able to use their center pieces which saved me a bundle. I added extras to the center pieces which made them stand out. (Colored lights and a few extra color flowers) The chairs are this not so pretty green color, so so I paid extra to have the chair covered and additional cost for table overlays as well. The room had extra hanging plants and other kind of over the top arrangements once they removed them the room really came to life. The sit down dinner portion was not the very best ( as per my bridal party and a few aunts) however they really enjoyed the cocktail hour and was pretty much full by the time diner was served.
My husband and I were solely responsible for paying for our own wedding. I have a huge family--- i didn't know how we were ever going to make this wedding happen. I couldn't imagine not sharing this special day with my family and friends but it just didn't seem possible. Well, never say never!! The Pantagis made it happen!! Not onlywas our wedding affordable, everyone LOVED the place- the service was outstanding and we were able to have the wedding of our dreams! Al D is phenomenal to work with!!!
The day was perfect and so were all of the attendants.
At snuffy's every employee was amazing, they were right there all night long, but not in the way. The food was delicious. We had so much food at the cocktail hour, that people did not want to eat there dinner. everyone raved about the food and how pretty everything was. I truly recommend them. Every party that i have will be there
I loved everything about what we thought it would be. They did a wonderful job of selling a perfect wedding reception, but we received far from it.;Just about everything, especially the service. We had inclement weather, which was not thier fault of course. But they had no protocol. The head manager was helping to serve our food b/c they were so understaffed. They were rushed our wedding reception to the point where the DJ yelled at me, THE BRIDE, b/c they put so much pressure on him to cut our wedding night short. We didn't cut our cake, didn't toss the bouquet or garter, they didn't even put our cake topper on top of the cake! I have the video and pictures to prove it. It was a horrible experience right to the very end when that same head manager, Al, took some items that were left behind and handed them to me in my wedding dress with a nasty comment about how people should check that they have everything before they go.
the stained glass ceilings, the marble floors, oak wood, the staff was excellent
they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day.
It Was beautiful, and the staff there made sure everything ran perfect.
Great value for all the food and cocktails offered. Our banquet manager was very accommodating to our requests and he ended up being our maitre d' on our wedding day.;Lighting in the rooms are dim, however there were windows that brought in light. Many pictures were difficult to adjust the lighting because the head table was right by the window, so our photographer had to be prepared so the bright window lighting behind us didn't mess up the shots. There was another wedding in the room right next to ours, so many of our guests were in the small shared hallway.
They worked with us on the menu, pricing, room, and decorations without any problems.
I loved the room, the service and the ceremony which was held there. THey staff was very helpful and friendly and truly helped me to relax before the ceremony.;The only thing I was a little upset about was that our ceremony went over the alloted time so they cut that time off of our cocktail hour. I would have preferred if they had just cut it off of the actually reception time. Almost all our guest were gone before the end of the reception so it would have been fine. That is the only thing.
I loved the private staircase to my hall and all the greenery where the bride and groom sat and I loved the raised platform from the dancefloor to the sitting area.
Loved the place in general. food, hospitality, and even the servers we're well mannered. I would definately have another party there.
Convience of having both the wedding and reception in the same location. Our package that included catering, silverware, candleabras and open bar.;Limited amount of top shelf liquor.
I liked the banquet rooms that had the cascading stairs where you can walk down and all your guests will have their eyes on you. I felt like Cinderella at the ball. Those stairs are what sold me and not to mention the beautiful ceremony room with the stained glass. Beautiful.
I loved the overall look of the place. There are marble floors and staircases with stainglass windows. It was perfect for my 'peacock/southern' themed wedding. It was really so beautiful there wasn't much decorating that needed done. The rooms are all so breathtaking.
