Note: Not for my wedding, but for my Christmas cards. I wanted to post my review to The Knot, as well, to caution anyone considering Paper Culture for their wedding stationary.
I really loved Paper Culture's consideration of the ecological imp...lications of their products, which is why we selected them for our Christmas cards. Also - my aunt will love the tree planted in her honor!
However, be forewarned - if you are skipping the proof process to save time, make sure you screenshot your final submission text. If there is an error in printing, make sure to screenshot the order proof on your account. Ensure that the date and time are visible in all screenshots.
There was a printing error on our postcards on Paper Culture's end - after I submitted a Help Center ticket explaining the issue (I included the screenshot) a Paper Culture representative reached back out to me, saying that it was my error - when I checked again, the proof on my order in my account page now showed the typo! After I called Paper Culture out on this discrepancy (with the before and after screenshots) the rep said that "We have double-checked the proof for this order and it seems that the text on the back was moved accidentally on our end." After further prompting, their explanation for how this could happen was, "The proof was shown with the error on our end since the initial checks were made when we responded to you. After reaching out to my manager I was advised that it appears that the mistake was made during our internal edit process." So... they just happened to make an accidental mistake - the exact mistake I was writing in about - during the internal edit process, while addressing my concern about said mistake.. right.
If I had not taken the initial dated/timestamped screenshot, Paper Culture would have succeeded in their deception.
To their credit, they did offer to reprint or refund 100% while allowing us to keep the misprinted cards. I would have been satisfied with the initial 20% off that they offered (it really isn't a big typo, just one additional letter) if they didn't try to pull a fast one on me. We are taking the full refund and just getting creative with whiteout.
I don't know if this is an under-the-radar policy to avoid paying out when they mess up, or what, but it has seriously tarnished their reputation for me. If I recommend them to anyone (because, yes, the quality of the paper/photos/printing is great, and the eco parts are very important to me, as stated!) I will include this caveat as I am warning you, dear reader! Caveat emptor.
