Let me start with saying that our wedding was absolutely beautiful and I adored getting married on Park City Mountain. However, PCM has been a nightmare to deal with after the wedding. Their customer service has been non existent. To host an event here, you make a series of deposits prior to the wedding. If you spend more than this amount, Vail will send you an invoice for the overage. The contract states that they will send an invoice within 30 days of the wedding. Since we did not receive an invoice after the wedding, we assumed that we did not owe any money. However, we received an invoice FIVE MONTHS after the wedding. Once we got the invoice, we had a couple of questions about the bill. Someone assured us they would get back to us about the inquiry, but we never heard back. We are now 7 months post wedding and our questions have not been addressed, and the mountain is threatening to add a late charge to our bill. If the mountain had gotten us our bill in a timely manner, I’m sure the questions could have been easily addressed.
Ultimately, the ceremony site and alpine slide was amazing. Yet, dealing with PCM has been horrific, and I would warn future brides from booking with a corporation that is clearly struggling to commit to its customers.
My husband and I fell in love with Lookout Cabin as a wedding venue and hosted out wedding there in June 2021. There are several major professionalism red flags we had with this venue, and I would warn anyone considering having them as a wedding venue.
First of all, during COVID, they furloughed 7 of their 9 event managers. That means 2 people are currently handling not only weddings, but all events at Park City Mountain. In February 2021, my husband and I asked what the COVID restrictions were. They reported that there would be masks, social distancing, and no dance floor, which we understood at the time. In late-April 2021, we had our first video chat for planning with Jennifer. She informed us at that time that there would be no alcohol service at all, and this had been a Vail Resorts policy all along. Despite us asking for restrictions all along, this MAJOR restriction was not relayed to us until 5 weeks before our wedding. We looked to cancel venues and were given conflicting information by Vail headquarters that this was NOT a Vail policy, which completely shattered our trust in Park City. After a week of stress and finding a new venue, Jennifer told us that the restriction was lifted. Because our guests had already booked rooms at Park City, we moved ahead with having them as our venue.
Next, a week before the wedding, we received an incorrect wedding night hotel room reservation confirmation e-mail. I called and was told they could not access our reservation, which was made 6 months in advance, but they would fix it for us. The day before check-in, I received another e-mail with the incorrect room type. I called again, and they could not access our reservation for an unknown reason. I spent an hour of my bridal shower on the phone with a man named Mitch, who was completely unprofessional telling me that this was not his problem and someone would call me in the morning (the day we were supposed to check in!). In the morning, I spoke to a manager at the Grand Summit Hotel who said that they had switched online reservation systems, and that was the problem all along. They gave me the correct room type but offered no apology, reassurance, or compensation for the hours of stress caused to the actual wedding couple in the 48 hours before the wedding. They again stated that Vail Resorts was "completely demolished" (using their own words) by COVID and was "understaffed".
Finally, it has now been 40 days since my wedding, and I have no final invoice of my wedding spend and what is owed. No one is answering my e-mails or calls from Park City or Vail Resorts. The contract states that a final invoice will be sent within 30 days. The one communication I got stated that they were totally backlogged with event requests and were processing my bill. Granted, we were told that we were the second event held at Park City since COVID started, and they are already neglecting to communicate or follow through!
We brought 75 guests to their resort for our destination wedding, and this is the treatment we received. I still have no closure. Wedding couples, think twice about hosting your event here! Their staff completely disregards you, and their customer service and hospitality is non-existent. I understand that hosting a wedding during a pandemic is hard, but Park City and Vail cannot be trusted to treat you with decency, communicate, or empathize. I am thankful for our other wedding vendors who made sure we were taken care of on our day.
I recently had my wedding at mid-mountain. the food was great everyone loved dinner and the location was beautiful. the only problem was that it rained on my wedding day all day long, and they were totally unprepared. The main lady helping the venue out was very unorganized and didn't really know what was going on. if it wasn't for her I would of had a much better time at the wedding. And I think things would of gone much smoother. in total I think that mid-mountain is beautiful and I wish it would not of rained so we could of enjoyed it fully. if you are planning on doing your wedding here just be ready for anything.
We really wanted an outdoor wedding to fit our active lifestyle, and really wanted to have a ski lift involved. PCMR was the only resort we found near Salt Lake City, UT that had all of this, and at an actually affordable price point. Plus all our guests rode down from the ceremony on an alpine slide! Highlight for many people!
The banquet manager and assistant were both amazing and I couldn't have had as much fun and stress-free of a wedding day without them. Leading up to the day the banquet manager was overworked so not always great about getting back to me in a timely manner, but hopefully they'll get her some help and that should solve the problem.
PCMR was just bought by Vail Resorts, so I'm not sure how that will affect their pricing.
Overall, amazingly beautiful venue and loved every minute!
This venue was great! Diedre was so helpful, though Coleen never answered her phone.
It was great to have a empty resort for the week and use all the amenities. The end of April is between seasons for Park City and a great time to get away. We stayed in a privately owned condo in the Lodges that was very nice and spacious.
Very pretty resort, in an amazing location.
I loved having my wedding here. The weather was perfect, the lodge is beautiful, and the scenery is amazing. I don't know if our wedding was the first one of the season or what, but there were people in the lodge when I was trying to get ready when I was initially told they don't book anything in the entire lodge that day. I also ordered a lot more food than needed (cookies and dessert bars) and they wouldn't let me take any of it home and it was extremely expensive. There was also a server there that talked back to both my mom and my sister and told my sister that they would lock up the lodge and throw all of our stuff away if someone didn't stay in there when we all went outside to do the bride and groom send off. Because of that, my sister had to completely miss it. I mentioned it to the manager of my event a week after and she said that is not the case and was unacceptable for that server to day that. I was highly disappointed in the PEOPLE running the even, but loved the loved and the area.
Park City Mountain Resort is a great venue for a big or small wedding. My wedding only had 36 guests, but filled the Payday Loft (very top floor) just right. The scenery is truly amazing, any time of year, and during the summer the area is filled with fun games and rides for people of any age. The building itself has some great rustic charm and dresses up nicely, and there are a plethora of hotels just outside the door, which makes it very easy on your out of town guests.
Very inexpensive for a wedding venue and their catering service was actually pretty delicious. Got a barbecue buffet and it was very good. And to top it off, the chef brought in huge buckets of fresh mint for our specialty cocktail!
