Park Crest Event Facility is a wedding venue tucked atop a mountain in Hoover, AL. Referred to by many as the “gateway to Hoover,” the Park Crest property is a hidden gem where couples can come to celebrate their love for one another. This venue lends a charming atmosphere and an incredible backdrop to wedding events. With beautiful outdoor scenery, couples can bond with nature whilst celebrating the love they share.
Several restaurants such as the Grandview Building and Grammas Italian Restaurant occupied Park Crest in the 1960s and 1970s before the Beard family purchased the property in 2006. The family converted the property into an immaculate event venue, perfect for wedding ceremonies, receptions and private and corporate events. The Beards added beautiful gardens with stunning views of Shades Mountain, reminiscent of the mountain views seen in Colorado, the Smokey Mountains and the Carolinas. This venue evokes feelings of elegance in a highly sophisticated atmosphere. The property boasts breathtaking surroundings where couples and their guests can celebrate the wedding of their dreams. The venue boasts a number of event areas to host ceremonies and receptions. The main indoor area offers 3,500 square feet of dining and entertainment space and provides the perfect canvas for couples to decorate. On warm evenings, many cocktail hours and receptions extend to the beautiful gardens. Couples can pose for photographs amongst the impressive landscaping, fountains, a covered pavilion, and the incredible mountain views.

Park Crest was absolutely amazing!!!! Everyone at the front desk was very helpful and every time I called for information, they were all very friendly and helpful. The venue of course was beautiful! The food was AMAZING!!! Darryl is awesome and very nice and patient with anything you need! The servers and bartenders were more than I could have asked for. Would HIGHLY recommend them for any occasion! Especially weddings!
Park Crest was everything my husband and I hoped for and so much more. We used the upstairs for our ceremony and the downstairs for our reception. It was glamorous but warm at the same time, with bright crystal chandeliers and a massive fireplace to welcome guests upstairs. The downstairs felt intimate and inviting, with darker lighting and unique spherical fixtures. The catering manager, Darryl, was fantastic to work with-- a true dream. The food was incredible, people are still raving now, months later. We absolutely loved having our wedding here and would have another event here in a heartbeat.
Beautiful venue! Darryl is phenomenal, and made our wedding perfect! He was an absolute pleasure to work with and a majority of why our wedding was so great had to do with him. Food was phenomenal, setup was perfect, and everything was done great. As well as all of the staff was sweet and very helpful. Couldn’t have picked a better venue, and would recommend x1000.

I had both my wedding ceremony and reception @ this venue in one of the buildings on the property, "The Carriage House". My ceremony was upstairs and the reception was downstairs. We also worked closely with staff there such as Hayden (coordinator / wedding planner) and Daryl (food services) who helped us tremendously!!! We used Hayden as our month-of-wedding-planner (which I also highly recommend!)
We absolutely LOVED having our wedding at Park Crest! The grounds are beautiful and perfect for all of your photo dreams. We had our ceremony upstairs and our reception downstairs and we loved that our guests just had to walk downstairs when the ceremony was over. Darryl, was great to work with. One of our favorite parts was the food tasting. All of the food was delicious and it was so fun picking out what to serve at our wedding.
If you have your wedding here I highly recommend hiring Hayden Edinger (The Edinger Collective) as your full time or month of wedding planner. We had her as our month of coordinator and she made that last month of wedding planning a breeze! The day of she made sure everyone was where they were supposed to be at the exact time. She created a detailed wedding timeline that helped make the day perfect! I highly recommend Park Crest and Hayden Edinger!!
Park Crest was superb! Absolutely beautiful venue, hidden gem tucked away in Birmingham. Garden views gave everyone Colorado vibes, the Carriage house is breathtaking too. I had originally booked the Gardens for my summer ceremony, and the lower level of the carriage house for reception. The week of the wedding though, the weather was proving to be very unpredictable, so the morning of the rehearsal I made the call to move the ceremony inside, to the upper level of the carriage house. Hayden was ON TOP of it, created a new ceremony layout, and communicated the changes to all my vendors. I didn’t have to stress AT ALL over the details. If you’re going to get married here, I HIGHLY recommend hiring Hayden Edinger as your day-of-coordinator. She knows the venue better than anyone, and literally made my day SO easy and SO special! My mother said that she actually was able to enjoy every second of the wedding, which we all know many Mother’s of the Bride can’t say the same thing, as they spend the whole day stressing and making sure every detail is perfect. Hayden did this for us, we barely had to lift a finger. ALSO, the food at Park Crest is AMAZING. Darryl Borden is a master of his craft, and so accommodating to our every request. He gave us the best bang for our buck, and my guests left raving about the food! I even had a few friends create a hashtag for the food, #howboutthosechickenskewers? Can’t say enough great things about this venue, 10/10 recommend!

Look no further than Park Crest for your wedding. We had our wedding here and it was AMAZING. Everything was so easy and Darryl was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. The grounds are beautiful and the photos will turn out amazing. You won’t regret having your wedding here.
The venue was absolutely beautiful and Darryl was fantastic. The venue was exactly what we wanted but the food was above and beyond anything we ever could have imagined. The best food I've truly ever had. Darryl is wonderful with communicating with you and being upfront and honest on everything. Everything he said was exactly how it planned out and he was truly a pleasure to work with.
WOW!!! I was in a wedding at Park Crest this past weekend! It was soooo beautiful! The staff did a wonderful job with the setup and the service at the reception! Everything went seamlessly. They took care of everything. Melanie (the bride) didn't have to worry about anything the whole day.
My best friend got married here last weekend! It was beyond gorgeous and the food was amazing! They had a chef attending the meat station! I've never seen anything like it. I'm totally having my wedding here!
My sister got married here this past June. I was so jealous! The Carriage House was so beautiful that the only decorations they needed were the centerpieces on the banquet tables at the reception. Everything was stunning!

Can I just take a minute and tell you about the food from Park Crest Catering! Our rehearsal dinner was incredible. Darryl really outdid himself and they worked with us on the price and made the menu exactly what we wanted! I will use Park Crest catering for everything now!
The Gardens are JAW DROPPING! I have never seen anything so beautiful! Everyone there is so nice and helpful. It had been a dream working with Park Crest for our reception!
This venue is AMAZING! It is literally the most beautiful place I have ever been in! I had no idea it was in Hoover until we took a tour. It's so close to everything! The Gardens are gorgeous and the Carriage House is HUGE and so elegant with 9 crystal chandeliers hanging from a giant vaulted ceiling. The staff were so helpful and attentive. They even offered to help with arrangements for our out of town guests.
I've tried calling 4 different times this week and I've had no return calls. I finally get through and the lady could not answer any of my questions not even about accommodations.
This was after she claimed she could not hear me. I called from my landline so I'm not sure what the problem was. Uninformed and unprofessional! If this reception hall is like this in the early stages, I'd hate to know the outcome of my reception.

My sister had her wedding here this past June. As far as my sister is concerned she had a wonderful wedding.. but its not because of the staff at Park Crest. The facility had a wedding the night before my sisters wedding and its just downhill from there. I was the maid of honor and instead of doing my bridal duties throughout the day I was running around doing housekeeping duties as well. Every bathroom was completely out of toilet paper for one. I went to go tell the Event Planner they have on staff that is supposed to be there the day of the wedding for stuff of this nature. I did not see her one time the day of my sisters wedding. Luckily, the videographer had done a wedding here recently and was able to help me. I also moved and organized all the chairs for the ceremony with my mom, the mother of the bride, and her friend. I'm all for maximizing your venue and events but just because you had a wedding the night before my sisters why does her wedding/venue have to suffer?
At this venue you have to use their specific caterer and get all alcoholic beverages through him. He charges a specific amount per beer, plus tax plus a mandatory gratuity. My parents set a budget with the caterer for specific beers to be served at the wedding. Not only did he COMPLETELY disregard this agreement his bartending staff was rude. I had multiple people say something to me about this.
All in all this was just not a smooth, stress-free day for my family to enjoy. We worked our butts off and what staff was there was rude. This venue is extremely pricey compared to other venues in the area and you don't have wiggle room if you have specific vendors you want to use. I got married in June 2 years ago at Douglas Manor in Chelsea, AL and it was an absolute dream!! They went above and beyond all our expectations. I still have people to this day that tell me how much they loved our venue and their staff. If you want to have a wonderful, stress-free wedding day, use any vendor you want and really impress your guests I suggest you call Douglas Manor. This venue is no comparison to the excellent people at Douglas Manor.

We are so glad your sister enjoyed her event here at Park Crest! We go out of our way for every event we host. I'm a little confused about your housekeeping duties that you performed during the event though. We have a maintenance team that chec...
ks each restroom on the hour, every hour, to insure its cleanliness and it's stocked with all necessities.
We also customize each event's layout with our bride and their planner (if they have one) months before each event. Our staff then sets up the agreed upon layout. We also have a full staff on site to make last minute changes of the layout if needed. We do provide our own catering. We have an excellent chef who has been in the catering business for 25+ years. We customize the menu for every event around the host's wishes. We do have to order all alcoholic beverages through our Alabama liquor license, per state law. But, again we customize the bar menu around the host's wishes (this includes what type of drinks are sold and how much are sold). We absolutely do not serve more than the host has arranged to be served, unless we have permission from the host. We have a very professional wait staff that help insure our guest's events runs as smooth as possible.
Unfortunately, when alcohol is involved, occasionally we have had to cut people off (to insure the guests' safety and make sure the bride & groom's event is not disrupted). We are so sorry if this damaged your opinion of us. We all love our friends and family, but I'm sure you didn't want your sister's wedding to be disrupted by someone who had too much to drink.
I had my wedding in the Gardens outside...the view is so breathtaking that we barely spent money on other decorations! The ladies there are so special and sweet and worked with me in every decision. They helped with rehearsal and all the small details. They also did the food which was amazing as well! Best decision!
I would definitely recommend this facility because the view there is BEAUTIFUL at sunset and Chasity Smith was wonderful
