Everything was executed as expected and the quality of the tablecloths and napkins were good. There were some stained napkins in the mix, but we just skipped over them and luckily, had reserved more than needed.
The only negative to the ent...ire experience was actually after the event. When we met with them they encouraged us to reserve anything we thought we might need, just to be safe, and we could always remove items as the event drew near...no big deal! So at first we thought we were going to use the venue's free chairs and rent $2 chair covers (300 chairs), and then as the event got a little closer I got a deal from the venue to rent their nicer, gold chivalri chairs for only $3 each. So, we removed the chair covers from our order. By the event, we had added 2 rectangular table cloths, and 2 cocktail table cloths. Still not enough to even out the chair cover fee. We had an initial quote of slightly over $2,000. My parents didn't want to have a large amount hanging over them at the wedding time, so they opted to pay more than just the deposit. They paid $1,500. Well, after the wedding, I realized we actually had overpaid , even with the added tablecloths. My mom called them to settle up. The woman who is one of the owners tried to tell my mom that the $1,500 was the "nonrefundable deposit." Excuse me? We paid over whatever was supposed to be the deposit, to be less of a burden. After the difference of the removed chair covers and added table cloths, the total cost was just slightly over $1,300. On what planet is $1,500 the deposit on $1,300??? My mom was silent, and honestly, too polite. The vendor offered my mom "store credit for $235" when my mom was in shock and silent. My mom accepted (like a dummy.) My dad immediately heard about this conversation after the call ended and called the vendor back. He said this was unacceptable and reacted as a client would be expected to when being taken advantage of. Not completely surprisingly, the vendor flipped her position and said she could issue a check for the difference as a refund. Now, was that so hard? We didn't expect the push back from the vendor. We expected a realistic "settling up" after the event was over and we could evaluate what was actually rented.
My take from everything: the business was great as far as the rental. Just NEVER pay more than the minimum deposit fee!
