The Paso Robles Inn is a historic property and wedding venue in Paso Robles, CA. Featuring a lush garden with a storied Spanish villa at its heart, it offers couples a fairytale location for their big day. Located in one of the nation’s most rugged and beautiful landscapes, the hotel is a great jumping-off point to explore everything California can offer.
The Paso Robles Inn stands proud as one of the city’s oldest and most revered establishments. Founded in 1889 by brothers Daniel and James Blackburn, the property dates back to the foundation of the city itself. The distinctive sand-red facade of the hotel welcomes guests as the sun shines golden over its Spanish roof tiling. The setting offers couples one of the Central Californian Coast’s best outdoor wedding venues. Its garden teems with plant-life cut through by a crystal-clear stream and many koi ponds which invite attendees to spend a moment of peaceful recollection. Couples can say ‘I do’ in this sun-soaked Garden of Eden under the bough of an ancient oak tree. Its patio can host an intimate reception with a roaring fireplace that comes to life as the sun dips below the horizon. Inside the hotel, the Grand Ballroom is a turn-of-the-century venue for a magical wedding celebration. The room features hardwood flooring, and a high ceiling crossed by richly colored beams. It is a classic setting that speaks to the property’s deep history. Alternatively, The Matador Room offers a flexible space that can be set up anything from receptions to pre-wedding brunch. The surrounding Wine County offers endless adventures, including golf, horseback riding, and a host of the country’s most spectacular beaches nearby.
The staff of the Paso Robles Inn welcomes guests with pride and open arms. They are here to support couples during their celebration and can provide furniture rentals. The in-house event manager will work with to-be-weds to plan every detail of the day to be. The catering team offers a choice of hearty dishes including succulent steaks and fresh seasonal vegetables. There is a vast selection of rooms available for weary guests to rest their heads in. The most storied of these are the Ballroom Rooms which feature rich, period-inspired furnishings and spacious balconies.

We had our welcome dinner for our wedding at the Paso Robles Inn, and cannot say enough good things about it! We held the dinner on the back patio for about 85-90 guests. The spaces was beautiful! We had some tables set off to the side and up in the grass, which was perfect for friends and kids. We had a Mexican buffet and sangria, which our guests loved. There was more than enough food to go around, and it was delicious. The staff was helpful not only on the night of our welcome dinner, but throughout our stay during the wedding weekend. We would highly recommend the Paso Robles Inn for events like this!

The venue is gorgeous, an old historic ballroom and a garden under an old oak tree for the ceremony and the food was good, we got many complements! They also had a cute welcome bag of snacks and flowers for us when we arrived.
However, the staff lacks communication skills and it was extremely difficult to get answers or move forward with details. The event coordinator, Taffy, would respond quickly but only with half of the information or none of what we asked for or tell us that's not her job, ask a different staff member. She was very nice but not very helpful.
Our food took an hour to come out after the salad and it was long enough to be a little awkward, luckily we had a photobooth inside of the ballroom for something to do while waiting.
I have MANY examples of poor communication regarding every staff member we worked with, but the worst one was Taffy telling me 2 weeks before my wedding that she would be gone the week of my wedding and would be back when the ceremony started, (we had been working together for 18 or so months and never brought it up). It really showed when she came to me all wound up 3 times on my wedding day asking questions that should have been taken care of before I was getting my hair done and trying to handle my emotions without any added stress. I had a couple guests ask my mom who the lady running around crazy the whole time was which was not the vibe we were going for. I also asked the woman that was suppose to be the back up contact to add a chair to one of the reception tables the morning of the wedding, these things happen, and I got yelled at saying that they are not working my event until 4. Umm Im sorry but my wedding starts at 4:30 so I tried to give them plenty of time to add it and didnt demand that it be done at that second. I have worked at a retreat center as an event coordinator and would never snap at a guest like she did, especially a bride on her wedding day.
Thankfully my other vendors that I hired were experienced and had worked at the Inn before and knew what to do and what to expect so many things were taken care of by them.
If you book this beautiful location just know that you will have to put a lot of energy into figuring things out yourself and work hard to get answers to your questions.

We chose the Paso Robles Inn for our wedding ceremony and reception, and we're very glad we did! We live outside SLO County and about two hours from the venue, however, this was not an obstacle for planning the wedding. The Inn is extremely reasonably priced for the SLO County area when it comes to rental price, food price, and the level of service - these were the three main factors that lead to us choosing it as our venue. Plus, the garden is naturally beautiful - as is the ballroom - meaning little-to-no decor was needed to make it feel "wedding ready."
We worked specifically with Taffy G as the venue coordinator. Taffy was friendly, extremely responsive to e-mails, and answered all of our questions. We went through the venue the day before the wedding, with all tables and chairs set up, to make sure that everything looked how we wanted it to. She was also present on the day of our wedding to oversee the event staff, and make sure things were running properly on that end.
We would definitely consider the Inn for a future event, and highly recommend it to others.

We stayed at the Paso Robles Inn on our wedding night, and at least 15 families from our wedding stayed their too. Since we only stayed one night we didn't get to go to the cafe or bar, but the room was clean and we loved having a jacuzzi on our balcony. My husband called it "the stinky jacuzzi" because it is water from a natural hot spring, but it does wonders for your skin. The gardens in the center of the hotel were very pretty, and we loved listening to the frogs croak in the pond at night. The fireplace in our room was very romantic and it was very quiet at night.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner in their Matador Room. The food was good and the service was great. We also stayed at the inn the night of our wedding the room was great. It had a hot tube in the room that help us relax from the long day of wedding activities.

Have both good and bad to say about using the Paso Robles Inn as a venue.
Good- The grounds and the ballroom are beautiful! Floral gardens, koi ponds, wood panneled walls, grand staircase, high ceilings. Couldn't ask for more! The wait staff was excellent and the food was terriffic. Very affordable ($2500 for ceremony and reception on a Sunday including all tables, chairs, linens, china and staff).
Bad- We had several issues with communication. Our block of rooms were given away to the wrong people (they DID fix this though). The wrong credt card was charged for the final bill. Hard to get any paperwork sent through email-- had to fax or mail. Also, the bar ran out of types of alcohol (we had open bar), and there was a line because there was only one bartender (and I had previously expressed concern that that was not enough). A lot of running in circles to get things done.
All in all the day went well. Just some frustration getting things done before and after the wedding.
