Josh is an amazing person, inside and out. He was our DJ for our wedding on Halloween and had everyone on the dance floor ALL night, but also knew when to slow things down. Something really special about him is that he met up with my husband and I before the wedding to talk about our music choices and timeline AND came to our final walk-through, which spoke volumes to me. Beyond that, Josh really has a music gift and knows exactly how to play to a crowd’s vibe. He is a wonderful person and we are proud to call him more than our wedding DJ, he is our friend. If you are looking for a versatile DJ for any occasion with vast music knowledge, Josh from Penguin Entertainment is your man. By the way…we are into weird Indie stuff and he knew every band we mentioned. We were instantly sold with him and he just happened to be an awesome person as well--win-win situation!

I’m so so glad we chose Eric at Penguin Entertainment to DJ our wedding, he was absolutely amazing to work with and did everything possible to make sure our wedding reception was perfect! He was very responsive to all our emails/questions and went above and beyond to make sure he had all the right songs leading up to our wedding, he even used special requested versions for some of our dances. He kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night and is great at reading a crowd! I can’t say enough positive things about Eric and Penguin Entertainment, definitely money well spent!

Josh Wilkinson is such an awesome DJ. We hired him for our wedding at Laguna Gloria and could not be happier. From the moment we met him, he always had such a positive and enthusiastic energy. We wanted to do a custom dance for our first dance. It was refreshing to see that Josh was just as enthusiastic about it as we were. The other DJ we had previously interviewed did not share this same enthusiasm. Not only was this part exciting, our photographer and event coordinator said they loved Josh too! We knew it would be perfect and we all would be one big happy family as we planned/coordinated our wedding. And you know what?.... that is exactly what happened for our wedding! My husband and I spent over 6 months in private dance lessons to make our custom first dance. Josh provided SIX edits for our first song! That was way above and beyond and he didn’t ask for any extra money. My husband and I will forever appreciate Josh’s very generous spirit! Our first dance rocked the house and it was so much fun. And Josh made it so easy for us to provide our must play/do not play. He is so professional and easy to work with. All our face-to-face meetings were so much fun and we could see how much experience and passion Josh had as being a DJ. He showed up to our venue early to help my coordinator and was a natural at making all his announcements. We were so lucky to have had Josh as our wedding DJ! He was awesome! We rate him ten stars out of five!!!!

Josh was our DJ. Great chemistry from the very first meeting. Guests are still talking about the fantastic music and the dance floor was full all night long! He is a consummate professional, passionate about his work, and totally customer service oriented. On top of that, he's a blast to watch at work, with no cheese factor whatsoever, like so many wedding DJs. Two elements of our daughter's 3/22/14 wedding reception at Laguna Gloria were top priority, music that would keep the international crowd dancing all night and the timing of the lengthy European-style toasts between dinner courses. There seems to be no music genre that can stump Josh and he is as talented an emcee as he is a DJ. Everything flowed seamlessly. Laguna Gloria has some fairly rigid rules about outdoor sound so that they are able to remain good neighbors to those who live around them. Josh is well acquainted with their policies and procedures so that was one worry that I was able to check off my list. Upon request, he set up a double deck system so that we were able to start the dancing on the back patio under the stars, and then at the 10:30 PM witching hour, without missing a beat, he moved to his inside deck, our guests followed right behind him, we closed the doors, and the beautiful art museum turned into a fantastic dance club! Josh gets our highest recommendation and we would happily use him again.

WE ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOVED Eric from Penguin Entertainment. Our wedding was EXACTLY what we wanted and everything was perfect! I had a unique sound clip that I wanted to play at the ceremony that he made happen and also was able to find me a good deal on an amp rental last minute so I could have a song played by a family member. He secretly worked with my family to give a signal for a flash mob dance after dinner they planned for me. It was awesome!! The music was incredible all through the cocktail hour. Everybody was commenting on how well it flowed. And then the best party ever started on the dance floor. I'm not kidding when I say, Eric had EVERY single person dancing for the ENTIRE night! Not one person left the floor. It was crazy and awesome! We have friends still coming up to us a month later saying it was the best wedding they've ever been to because of the dance party! If you want a flawless night, choose Eric or anybody from the Penguin team. They know what they're doing and definitely worth it. Thanks Eric for everything!!

We were very satisfied with everything Josh did for our wedding. He was very patient with my mother and I through the planning process, met with us twice, and played every song that my husband and I felt necessary for our big day! He has such a sweet and patient disposition, but knows how to work the dance floor! If you are looking for a DJ, Josh is the all-around best. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

Hiring Josh as our DJ was one of the best things we did planning our wedding. He was flawless, and everything you would want in a DJ -- passionate and super knowledgeable about music (across genres and time periods); very professional; excellent communication and response time; had good suggestions; and filled the dance floor the entire night. We hesitated hiring him because his fee was higher than some other DJs we vetted, but it was money very well spent. We made things complicated for him by wanting classic 1940s and 1950s music for cocktail hour and dinner, classical at the ceremony, and 1980s and Top 40 for the dancing. He knew every genre in and out, was excited about our ideas, and made some great suggestions to make them even better. As the bride, I never had to think twice about his equipment, which worked flawlessly. We saved money on hiring a ceremony musician, because Josh hit every cue perfectly. And one of the feedbacks I got from my guest was how good the dancing music was. Not every vendor at my wedding was perfect, but full credit to Josh for doing an exceptional job day of, and throughout the planning process.

We used Josh from Penguin for our wedding. We talked to him a bit on the phone and then agreed to meet to discuss our wedding. Josh was very prompt and responsive to all of our requests. We discussed the music we would like as well as our event. When it came closer to the wedding date, we met again to review all the details. Josh did an amazing job - he followed all of our requests exactly and handled the music for both the ceremony (outdoors) as well as the reception (indoors). The sound was great, he did a great job making sure everything went smoothly and playing exactly the songs that we had requested. He has a great personality and is very easy work with. I highly recommend Josh @ Penguin.

Eric was an incredible DJ! He had people on the floor the whole time! The music selection was exactly what we hoped to hear!

After reading so many great reviews about Penguin Entertainment, we decided to hire them as our wedding DJ. We chose Josh in particular because he had great individual reviews and he seemed to be very experienced. Once we met Josh, we knew right off the bat he was the right choice! He was extremely considerate and helpful throughout the planning process. He met with us early on to get a feel for how we wanted the night to flow. Since we had hired both a band and a DJ, there were a few logistics to work out, and Josh was more than accommodating! Josh played during the band’s breaks, acted as MC the entire night, and then took over for the later three hours of the night- all seamlessly! Josh’ MC style was exactly what Jerry and I wanted. He directed our guests along throughout the night, but kept it simple and classy. He never drew unnecessary attention to himself. I honestly could not be happier with Josh’ work!! He played all the right songs, at the right times and our dance floor was packed the entire night! He had every one of our guests, young and old, out on the floor! I even heard that after the last song some of our friends went up to him and begged him to play more! We can’t thank you enough, Josh, for your amazing work!

We searched everywhere, wedding shows, word of mouth etc. Having been to a few weddings recently where we had to leave due to the loud music (and we love music), we knew that we needed to find the perfect DJ. During a meeting with one of our vendors the name Penguin came up when telling us about a wedding they just attended. We went home and did some research. We found that Penguin has been around a long time and it's business comes from word of mouth not wedding shows. Yes they were a bit more expensive but ,they tailored the music to what was requested, had superior speakers, did not try to upsell cheap uplighting etc. It only took one DJ Eric and he was fantastic. Music was very important to us and we were willing to pay a bit more. We had them from 5-11pm and the dance floor was NEVER empty. Of course the groom handled the entire playlist and did all the consulting which was wonderful. I would use them again in a heartbeat. They are not your 22 year old DJs. They are experienced in all types of music, come dressed for the occasion and are highly professional. You won't see many reviews because they don't need them! We were lucky to find them by accident!!!! The music makes the wedding after all the festivities are done! Call Josh and speak to him and you'll see what Penguin is all about. I only gave 4 stars on value because they were a little higher than most but worth it.

I cannot rate Josh at Penguin highly enough and thank him immensely for doing such a wonderful job. We have very particular music taste and even contemplated not using a DJ and playing our iPod instead. Good thing we didn't- Josh took our list of personally selected songs and put it together in a way that kept the dance floor going all night. From the cocktail, to the dinner, to the dancing- he hit it perfectly all night. Guests commented that they had not seen dancing like that in a long time and there was little to no open space left because everyone stayed out there with the great music. I appreciate that he understood our like and wants and did exactly what we wanted...not what he wanted. He also assisted in the flow of the evening without causing interruptions. Thanks Josh and I will sing your praises anytime.

Penguin Entertainment is an amazing DJ service and I am so glad we hired them for our wedding! Josh Wilkinson is the absolute BEST! He was always available throughout the planning process and even met us a few times in order discuss things face to face. He is so extremely dedicated, professional, and knowledgeable in what he does. Everything during the reception went extremely smoothly, and he exceeded our expectations on any DJ that we could imagine to get. The only regret I have is that we will not be able to spend any more time with him because he was so awesome!

For our wedding, more than anything else, we wanted all our guests to have fun. Eric Christianson helped make that happen. To give some background I am Hispanic, my husband is Ukrainian and most of our friends are American. So we had pretty interesting music requirements :). Eric was not intimidated by that and gave us the perfect mix of music. The dance floor was literally never empty! I think I must have seen every single guest out in the dance floor at some point of the night. Eric read the crowd well and was able to keep us all dancing. Very, very recommended!!

Eric and Joyce represented Penguin Entertainment at our Ceremony and Reception - We hit the jackpot! Literally the next morning my husband and I, and our wedding party, were sore from so much dancing! Mission accomplished for creating a FUN atmosphere for everyone - from our grandparents and parents age, to my 8 month pregnant Maid of Honor! The one thing we wanted in a reception was good variety of music (of our taste of course - Texas Country, Classic Country, AND some hip-hop booty music), and a good FLOW of songs to keep people in the action. Eric did this so well, I didn't leave the dance floor at all the last half of our reception - we had a s'mores bar, and I didn't get to see it because I was having so much fun with family and friends dancing. My husband and I planned our wedding in 3.5 months, so getting with the DJ about details and music was the last item on the to do list. We didn't have much time to get with Eric on songs, so we just sent him a hand full of artists we liked, and he didn't miss a beat. He was extremely professional, his equipment was top notch, and everything, including the most important part - the ceremony music, went off without a hitch. We were so luck to have found him and this company! If you want perfection - pick Penguin Entertainment!

Our wedding planner recommened Josh at Penguin Entertainment and he was Amazing! The most important thing about our wedding was that people were having fun and dancing and Josh did more than a perfect job of keeping the party going. There were people out on the dance floor that I never thought would be out there (including my 90 year old Grandpa who did not even dance with my grandma at their wedding 50 years ago). I would recommend Josh to anyone who wants someone who is easy to work with, laid back but gets the job done, and is the best at his job!!

When my husband and I decided to have a morning wedding (and thus an early afternoon reception), we became a little concerned with whether or not the dance floor would be a successful event... After a recommendation from our wedding coordinator, we went with Penguin Entertainment (specifically Eric) as our DJ. After telling Eric our concerns, he came up with some great ideas for making the dance floor into a lively and fun activity--and it worked!! Eric played the perfect dance numbers, and his engaging personality and commentary encouraged our guests to take a spin on the dance floor! Another desire of ours was to make sure that the reception was very family-friendly in regards to music--nothing too sexual, provocative, etc. Eric picked music that went along perfectly with our vision for the reception, and I really believe that his work is what made our reception into the incredibly fun celebration that it was!

Josh was fantastic! He was very attentive and was always contacting me with questions or concerns. It was nice to have a vendor who cared. He knew exactly what I wanted and executed it perfectly. I have gotten so many complements from my family and friends who were at the wedding about how amazing he was. I couldn't thank him enough for everything he did. Everything about my experience was amazing!

We worked Josh Wilkinson at Penguin Entertainment and couldn't have been happier. He was on time for every meeting, understood exactly the mood we were going for, and he was able to keep all our family and friends on the dance floor until last call.

;She tried to take over the role of my wedding planner and would not listen to her. I didn't get to throw my bouquet because she said there wasn't enough time. She couldn't follow simple music instruction during the wedding ceremony. Don't hire Mary.

I cannot say more good things about our DJ! Josh was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny. He worked well with the venue (and tried to do extra stuff for my mom at the last minute) and he was very accomodating. He played what we wanted and was fun and uplifting without being overly aggressive about getting people to dance. By the end of the night everyone was dancing and jumping and having a great time and the music was perfect. And Josh is soo easy to work with - the easiest part of the whole planning process!

Josh was AMAZING! Knew just what we wanted for the wedding musically made the entire night wonderful for everyone!

They were all musicians from different country bands. On their off time they play receptions around the hill country.
