He was incredible professional, imaginative, and personable throughout the process. He gave excellent suggestions regarding ceremony, cocktail, and reception music and took extra steps to understand our style/taste. The day was absolutely magical, and I credit a LOT of that to Josh and Penguin Entertainment. The ceremony included 4-5 different songs which were paired together seamlessly. The cocktail hour volume and playlist were perfect. The reception playlist was a BLAST, and Josh incorporated a few special announcements (including midnight snacks and a flash mob) without batting an eye. HIRE THEM. IMMEDIATELY. I am latin so I had asked for 8 songs in Spanish thinking people might skip dancing those, but everybody loved them. Eric read the crowd amazingly well and played more songs in Spanish than I could have ever hoped for! The dance floor was full the entire time because of his ability to adjust immediately to what he was seeing! It was amazing. I even had random people at work tell me “I heard the DJ at your wedding was amazing.” I knew that was true. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Eric.

but it was his desire to want to get to know us as a couple that made us want to work with him so badly! Josh kept the party going all night! He made a great mash up of Beyonce songs for us, put together a great set of music for all generations and also kept in mind our do not playlist. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality of service you get. We couldn't recommend Penguin Entertainment enough, we're so happy we were able to work with Josh!

ce. It was refreshing to see that Josh was just as enthusiastic about it as we were. The other DJ we had previously interviewed did not share this same enthusiasm. Not only was this part exciting, our photographer and event coordinator said they loved Josh too! We knew it would be perfect and we all would be one big happy family as we planned/coordinated our wedding. And you know what?.... that is exactly what happened for our wedding! My husband and I spent over 6 months in private dance lessons to make our custom first dance. Josh provided SIX edits for our first song! That was way above and beyond and he didn’t ask for any extra money. My husband and I will forever appreciate Josh’s very generous spirit! Our first dance rocked the house and it was so much fun. And Josh made it so easy for us to provide our must play/do not play. He is so professional and easy to work with. All our face-to-face meetings were so much fun and we could see how much experience and passion Josh had as being a DJ. He showed up to our venue early to help my coordinator and was a natural at making all his announcements. We were so lucky to have had Josh as our wedding DJ! He was awesome! We rate him ten stars out of five!!!!

Two elements of our daughter's 3/22/14 wedding reception at Laguna Gloria were top priority, music that would keep the international crowd dancing all night and the timing of the lengthy European-style toasts between dinner courses. There seems to be no music genre that can stump Josh and he is as talented an emcee as he is a DJ. Everything flowed seamlessly. Laguna Gloria has some fairly rigid rules about outdoor sound so that they are able to remain good neighbors to those who live around them. Josh is well acquainted with their policies and procedures so that was one worry that I was able to check off my list. Upon request, he set up a double deck system so that we were able to start the dancing on the back patio under the stars, and then at the 10:30 PM witching hour, without missing a beat, he moved to his inside deck, our guests followed right behind him, we closed the doors, and the beautiful art museum turned into a fantastic dance club! Josh gets our highest recommendation and we would happily use him again.

deal on an amp rental last minute so I could have a song played by a family member. He secretly worked with my family to give a signal for a flash mob dance after dinner they planned for me. It was awesome!! The music was incredible all through the cocktail hour. Everybody was commenting on how well it flowed. And then the best party ever started on the dance floor. I'm not kidding when I say, Eric had EVERY single person dancing for the ENTIRE night! Not one person left the floor. It was crazy and awesome! We have friends still coming up to us a month later saying it was the best wedding they've ever been to because of the dance party! If you want a flawless night, choose Eric or anybody from the Penguin team. They know what they're doing and definitely worth it. Thanks Eric for everything!!

We hesitated hiring him because his fee was higher than some other DJs we vetted, but it was money very well spent. We made things complicated for him by wanting classic 1940s and 1950s music for cocktail hour and dinner, classical at the ceremony, and 1980s and Top 40 for the dancing. He knew every genre in and out, was excited about our ideas, and made some great suggestions to make them even better. As the bride, I never had to think twice about his equipment, which worked flawlessly. We saved money on hiring a ceremony musician, because Josh hit every cue perfectly. And one of the feedbacks I got from my guest was how good the dancing music was. Not every vendor at my wedding was perfect, but full credit to Josh for doing an exceptional job day of, and throughout the planning process.

Josh did an amazing job - he followed all of our requests exactly and handled the music for both the ceremony (outdoors) as well as the reception (indoors). The sound was great, he did a great job making sure everything went smoothly and playing exactly the songs that we had requested. He has a great personality and is very easy work with. ht off the bat he was the right choice! He was extremely considerate and helpful throughout the planning process. He met with us early on to get a feel for how we wanted the night to flow. Since we had hired both a band and a DJ, there were a few logistics to work out, and Josh was more than accommodating! Josh played during the band’s breaks, acted as MC the entire night, and then took over for the later three hours of the night- all seamlessly! Josh’ MC style was exactly what Jerry and I wanted. He directed our guests along throughout the night, but kept it simple and classy. He never drew unnecessary attention to himself. I honestly could not be happier with Josh’ work!! He played all the right songs, at the right times and our dance floor was packed the entire night! He had every one of our guests, young and old, out on the floor! I even heard that after the last song some of our friends went up to him and begged him to play more! We can’t thank you enough, Josh, for your amazing work!

endors the name Penguin came up when telling us about a wedding they just attended. We went home and did some research. We found that Penguin has been around a long time and it's business comes from word of mouth not wedding shows. Yes they were a bit more expensive but ,they tailored the music to what was requested, had superior speakers, did not try to upsell cheap uplighting etc. It only took one DJ Eric and he was fantastic. Music was very important to us and we were willing to pay a bit more. We had them from 5-11pm and the dance floor was NEVER empty. Of course the groom handled the entire playlist and did all the consulting which was wonderful. I would use them again in a heartbeat. They are not your 22 year old DJs. They are experienced in all types of music, come dressed for the occasion and are highly professional. You won't see many reviews because they don't need them! We were lucky to find them by accident!!!! The music makes the wedding after all the festivities are done! Call Josh and speak to him and you'll see what Penguin is all about. I only gave 4 stars on value because they were a little higher than most but worth it.

Guests commented that they had not seen dancing like that in a long time and there was little to no open space left because everyone stayed out there with the great music. The only regret I have is that we will not be able to spend any more time with him because he was so awesome!

The one thing we wanted in a reception was good variety of music (of our taste of course - Texas Country, Classic Country, AND some hip-hop booty music), and a good FLOW of songs to keep people in the action. Eric did this so well, I didn't leave the dance floor at all the last half of our reception - we had a s'mores bar, and I didn't get to see it because I was having so much fun with family and friends dancing. My husband and I planned our wedding in 3.5 months, so getting with the DJ about details and music was the last item on the to do list. We didn't have much time to get with Eric on songs, so we just sent him a hand full of artists we liked, and he didn't miss a beat. He was extremely professional, his equipment was top notch, and everything, including the most important part - the ceremony music, went off without a hitch. We were so luck to have found him and this company! If you want perfection - pick Penguin Entertainment!

people out on the dance floor that I never thought would be out there (including my 90 year old Grandpa who did not even dance with my grandma at their wedding 50 years ago). I would recommend Josh to anyone who wants someone who is easy to work with, laid back but gets the job done, and is the best at his job!!

After telling Eric our concerns, he came up with some great ideas for making the dance floor into a lively and fun activity--and it worked!! Eric played the perfect dance numbers, and his engaging personality and commentary encouraged our guests to take a spin on the dance floor! Another desire of ours was to make sure that the reception was very family-friendly in regards to music--nothing too sexual, provocative, etc. Eric picked music that went along perfectly with our vision for the reception, and I really believe that his work is what made our reception into the incredibly fun celebration that it was!
