Pennywell Events started off as just Alicia, the owner and solo planner. Alicia has a way of connecting personally with each of the Pennywell Events couples to give them the attention and dedication that each of their weddings needed. After a few years of working solo, it was time to expand and bring in additional members to the team that love weddings and that love love as much as Alicia does. The ability to give each couple the best experience on their wedding to be able to spend that time with family and friends and to know that they have an advocate there to handle everything without worry, is something that has always been part of how we handle every occasion. Today, as the Pennywell Events team continues to grow and expand, we hope to be able to help more couples to have the stress-free wedding experience that Pennywell Events LLC has become known for over the years.
Pennywell Events LLC offers multiple levels of service based on the needs for your wedding, from Full Wedding Planning to Event Management, also known as wedding coordination. Each of the planning levels of service include coordinating with all of your vendors while creating your personalized Wedding Day Timeline so that everyone works together as a cohesive team. Some of the services offered are budget management, vendor recommendations and booking, especially for those planning a destination wedding in the New Orleans area. Pennywell Events LLC also offers Wedding Consulting for those that need a bit of personalized guidance or a starting plan for planning your wedding.

I hired Alicia for partial planning for my wedding in New Orleans, and she was AMAZING. I truly could not have gotten through my wedding planning without her.
She was so kind and gracious, always patiently answering my questions and jumping on the phone whenever I needed. She has a great list of vendors, and she often pointed me in the right direction for both logistic and aesthetic choices. People still talk about my venue, the food, and the band - they were amazing recommendations!
My family and close friends don’t live in NOLA, so I was so grateful that she was a friend and support system for me during this time. She even came with me dress shopping and to my rehearsal dinner ❤️
She knew my venue (Margaret Place) well and she made sure the day ran smoothly - from setup and florals to bringing extra food/cake to my hotel room after the party. I was so relaxed on my wedding weekend and I have her to thank!!!

Where do I even begin? As an out of town bride, I was nervous about being able to coordinate everything for our big day. Luckily, Allison and her team went above and beyond to ensure that we were organized and prepared. She checked-in on us throughout the process and was always ready with solutions when a problem came up. We were SO HAPPY with our event and it is all thanks to Allison. From our very first phone call, I knew she would be perfect: Alicia is unbelievably kind, patient, professional, attentive, and talks to you as a great friend would. After every call, she left us feeling calm, prepared, and excited for our wedding!
On top of her incredible personality, Alicia and her team are extremely knowledgeable and their vendor connections are invaluable. Just a few examples: During the planning process, she helped us book a wonderful hotel block (with a great price during a busy New Orleans spring festival season!) Alicia also guided us through booking a 2nd Line Band. It was challenging to find a 2nd Line route that worked with the police escort, but Alicia drew up the most PERFECT route and it worked flawlessly. Additionally, our families and bridal party were nervous about the processional, but Alicia did a fantastic job helping us all feel confident during our rehearsal. Finally, her detailed, thorough, and organized timeline was a lifesaver--We truly could have not done this without her!
The above examples are just a few things Alicia did for us, we could go on and on! She is so intentional and a great listener--There was no question or concern too small or silly for her. We know she did so much work behind the scenes and communicating with vendors to make the day smooth and stress free for us.
She truly wanted us to have a beautiful, thoughtful wedding and her hard work showed that. Her assistant, Allison, was also awesome and did a great job checking in on us throughout the wedding day--Thank you both!! We are so appreciative... Getting married in New Orleans was a dream come true! Planning a wedding from another state created the opportunity for challenges and stresses that can come with it...especially when you can't personally tour the ceremony and reception venue in person prior to the big day.
Allison did an INCREDIBLE JOB coordinating our wedding at Antoine's last month! The amount of detail that goes into planning a wedding can be a daunting process but Allison guided us and prepared us every step of the way..we couldn't have done it without you!

Alicia was just phenomenal. Was calm and laid back but alleviated the stress we all had, especially as myself being MOB. We planned, we joked, we cut up while getting the masterplan in place. I was an out of state bride who has only ever been to NOLA once. I knew what I wanted but wasn’t sure how to get it. Alicia had her work cut out with my wedding because it was a “crash out elopement” so the guest count kept changing. She took it in stride though and she worked her butt off to deliver. I am truly thankful she was there from setting up vendors to ensuring all my paperwork was done, handling my final payments and setting up the church and reception area. Alicia came up with some fun ideas for the wedding to go from a second line parade to a trolly ride to the reception which my family and friends absolutely loved. She is an amazing planner and if I were to do it all over, I’d hire her again!

We did a destination wedding from SWFL to NOLA and had a disaster of a time trying to plan it. Our first venue venue cancelled on us, we had to fire our first coordinator 6 months before our wedding, then 3 months before our wedding our second venue cancelled on us and we had to find a new location during peak wedding season.
Alicia came in and immediately found us venue locations and suggested vendors. She was on the ball and very detail oriented and made time for us whenever we needed to speak with her.
She even came and met us in the city on short notice when we were looking for a new venue and interviewed places with us.
She did so much for us and was so outgoing and we are so thankful that we found her. I can't imagine how our wedding would have went without her there.
We had a very complex timeline with LOTS of moving parts and she executed it wonderfully.
If you have any doubts, forget them!
She runs a tight ship and does an amazing job. I highly suggest her!

From the first time Alicia and I spoke on the phone I knew I had found the perfect day of coordinator. As an out of town detail oriented bride, Alicia was my eyes and ears and gave me piece of mind. She is a wealth of professional knowledge and experience, but approaches all of her clients as if they were a long time friend. She listens to your vision, provides helpful feedback and insights all along the way!
She went out of her way to meet with us at the venue on a quick prewedding visit to touch base, and once I had established my vendors, she took over communicating and confirming plans for the big day! She kept us on track at our informal rehearsal; and on the day, she made sure everything (and everyone) was informed, coordinated and flawless! Knowing Alicia was managing everything from behind the scenes allowed my husband and I to truly enjoy the day! There aren’t enough words to describe the gratitude I have for Alicia! I am confident that while our relationship started out as coordinator and client/bride, I’ve gained a friend and we’ll definitely catch up every time we return to NOLA!

I'm not sure where to start we hired a wedding planner from a Facebook group we did read her reviews but it was mostly from her friends. I 100% had never talked to or met Alicia before we hired her. We ended her services and went with Alicia at Penny well events we were skeptical but she put our minds at ease and it seemed like we clicked well. Especially Alicia and my now husband. With my stressful job my husband really took the reins on planning our wedding with Alicia's help. About 3 months away from our wedding our venue said they had no record of our reservation and couldn't do what was agreed upon. We immediately had to look for a new venue Alicia was on top of it with in the hour. She got us a really good deal and she agreed to even meet up with us on a weekend when she is busiest. We are living in Florida so she was a lifesaver showing us venues last minute and spending the day discussing our wedding. She kept us on track during the remaining 3 months. She was easy to work with and very organized. We pulled off a great wedding everyone said it was the best wedding they have been to. We had so much going on and Alicia was on top of it entire time and if there were mistakes no one noticed. Her and her assistant decorated beautifully and delivered everything at the end of the night I have no doubt our family and friends won't be forgetting our wedding any time soon. If you're doing a destination wedding to new orleans you definitely need Alicia from Penny well events.

Alicia at Pennywell Events is a true professional! Our only regret is that we didn't hire her earlier in our wedding planning process. Neither my partner nor I are local to New Orleans, so we found Alicia's knowledge of the area and local vendors invaluable. She is incredibly warm and we always left planning meetings feeling that she would execute our vision - which she did! She always had creative and innovative solutions to any hiccups along the way. Alicia at Pennywell events was absolutely fantastic! Right from the jump she felt like a real friend, and made me feel comfortable and confident with how I wanted to plan my wedding.
Throughout the planning process she was always there to bounce ideas off of, run through the set-up, and talk me off the ledge when the stress would creep in.
She understood my little ideas and was able to string them together into a full cohesive vision. I will forever appreciate how kind and friendly she was from the very first day. She really helped ease the stress of the process.
Alicia was super hands-on and attentive to what we wanted, especially the months leading up to the wedding. She was available to meet up for coffee or dinner, to help put together bouquets (a million thanks for that!) and to answer any question I had.
Day of she was an all-star. Incredibly calm and organized. She made sure we never had to worry about a thing.

10/10! If you need a wedding coordinator/ planner look no further....Planning a destination wedding can be overwhelming enough but throw in several changes of plans and the guest list increasing and decreasing and we were in over our heads...thank goodness we had found Alicia early on. She carried us over every hurdle and obstacle with grace, charm, humor and a steadfast calmness that made our planning experience seamless and fun. She pivoted when we needed to pivot and provided so much knowledge and resources.
We hired her for month of coordination but she truly went above and beyond and helped us every step of the way since the intro phone call. We Absolutely loved worked with Alicia from Pennywell Events and I am so so so grateful that we found her!!!!
She immediately made me and our guests feel comfortable and was so friendly, fun, organized, and kind. Even though I am a type a bride she acted as a vessel of information and helped us liaison between vendors, recommend vendors, manage contracts and she constantly checked in with us to make sure we had every detail planned. The day-of timeline she put together was phenomenal -- all of our vendors were so impressed!
On the day of the event, everything ran so smoothly and I was able to totally stay in the moment the whole time. Being able to put away my type a control freak hat and just enjoy every second of being a bride is something I will forever cherish and that was all thanks to Alicia.
Our only regret is not living in NOLA so we can send all of our friends and family to her- I would recommend Alicia to anyone and everyone!!!!

We hired Alicia from Pennywell Events for our April wedding, and I'm so glad we did because she was a complete lifesaver!!! As the bride, she made the whole day easy and smooth. I didn't have to worry about one thing at the venue while I was getting ready with my bridesmaids at the hotel. We hired Pennywell as our Day of Coordinator but Alicia consistently checked in with me during the whole wedding planning process. From our initial conversation when we were researching wedding planners, I knew Alicia was the right fit for us. Her positive energy and bubbly personality just makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed. If we didn't hire Pennywell Events, I know that the vision for our wedding wouldn't have come together. We had the greatest wedding day because of Alicia's hard work and support.
Alicia from Pennywell Events was phenomenal! She was our day-of wedding coordinator and could not have made the day any easier!
In addition to just being super friendly and fun, she made an extremely detailed timeline that all our vendors were super impressed with. She managed all our contracts and helped make sure we had every detail planned.
On the day of the event, everything ran so smoothly thanks to Alicia and her assistant Allison! As the bride, I was able to totally stay in the moment the whole day because Alicia and Allison were behind the scenes and making sure everything (our photographer, our ceremony, our second line, the buses to our reception, etc) went smoothly.

She went above and beyond for us and we absolutely loved having her as part of our wedding weekend. She always made she we were good and taken care of, even up until the next days after our wedding was over. She took the stress out of so many obstacles we came across during planning and wedding day. She worked us through a whole time change, and she was very communicative with all of our vendors. I truly do not think we would have been able to pull off the most kick ass wedding we did, if it wasn't for Alicia's help. She is a great resource for New Orleans. We had a destination wedding in the French Quarter of New Orleans, and she did so much for us without us being physically there. Hands down, would recommend Alicia to anyone looking for a wedding planner. You won't be disappointed!

We don’t know where to begin with both of the ladies at Pennywell Events. They’re incredible. Starting with attentiveness, they listen and take detailed notes, make you feel comfortable and welcome, and truly became two of our lifelong friends. They are organized and professional, held countless meetings with us when requested and any question or problem that arose were on it and found a solution. From day one of working together we felt listened to and knew we were in good hands. Their work was flawless, combed over every detail, and assured a timeline that had all the necessary details and more. They truly left no worries for us on the day of and were so supportive and kind through the entire planning process. In the first conversation I had with Alicia at Pennywell Events about my wedding, I felt immediately comforted and reassured. She was attentive and thorough throughout the whole planning process. Her timeline was extremely detailed and received compliments from multiple vendors. Alicia was patient when I would panic about something, and took care of me, the groom, and my whole family in every way. She supported my vision then provided recommendations to make it more feasible and realistic.

My husband and I knew we wanted a wedding planner to help us find vendors and also to help coordinate our wedding day and we were completely blown away by how professional, responsive, organized, and kind Alicia was. She was an absolute joy to work with from the very beginning! This is the biggest party either of us have ever planned so having Alicia's support and encouragement from the very beginning of this process was very welcomed. From our very first phone call she put us at ease and immediately emailed us a timeline for booking vendors and a recommended vendor list. When I was struggling to find a photographer she personally reached out to one of her contacts to ensure that she could move things around to be present for our big day. I can't overstate the importance of working with someone who knows this industry and has the network to be able to pull strings like this. Alicia kept detailed notes about all our vendors, maintained all the contracts, and did a fantastic job of executing my vision when it came to decorating the venue the day of the wedding. I am so grateful that Alicia and her team were there to help set up the day of the wedding because this allowed me to be fully present for hair/makeup with my bridesmaids and family. Our wedding day went SO smoothly. Me and my husband were able to fully soak in and appreciate all the love and magic in the room without worrying about a thing and I know this is because of all the hard work Alicia was doing behind the scenes. At the end of the night she made sure all our decor and clean up were taken care of so that we could leave and enjoy the after party. Choose Alicia! She's calm but detailed, organized, and knows what she is doing. Her pricing is so reasonable. She checked in with us regularly and maintained detailed notes of everything. It was so nice to be able to just enjoy the moment on our wedding day, knowing that she was on top of everything. The actual day was seamless. She's super fun to hang out with too!
I am beyond Happy with the service Alicia provided for my husband and I! She Truly was a Angel sent from up above! We hired her about 3 1/2 weeks before the wedding which was way to soon but she hit the ground running and literally ran out wedding and gave us not a care in the world! Great asset to our day! Alicia was my right hand. I am an obsessive planner ( 2nd rodeo as mother of bride, no event planner first time) . She meshed well with my craziness. Alicia was amazing! We hired Pennywell Events for our Day-of-Coordination. While we knew that we wanted to plan most of the wedding, we also knew that we wanted to hire a coordinator to take the stress off us and our families on the day of the wedding - especially coming from out-of-state. Alicia was great to work with and checked in with us at various points throughout the planning process. We were one of those couples who thought they didn't need a planner - but after rescheduling and vendor ownership changes (gotta love planning during a global pandemic), we decided to carve out extra budget for a coordinator. We very quickly realized that having Alicia on our team was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Hello! I’m Alicia, the Owner/Lead Planner/and “it” girl of Pennywell Events LLC
I absolutely love to plan weddings,no really, it's what I have dreams about most nights.
My passion for planning started in 2011. I was planning my own wedding in New Orleans (my hometown), while living in Brooklyn, NY pursuing my fashion design career. Throughout the engagement period, securing all of the fine details - finding the best venue, the right lighting to set the mood, and the music to pull it all together - became even more crucial as I was planning from 1,300 miles away.
Today, Pennywell Events is available to assist couples in planning a unique and memorable wedding (or another important life event) without the overwhelming anxiety. I have experience in managing events for couples from Washington D.C. to California, and even that party city, New Orleans.
After five years in the NYC fashion industry, I realized it wasn’t what I had hoped for. However, it did give this
New Orleans native the opportunity to move back to Louisiana to work remotely (way ahead of the times). It also gave me the chance to expand my knowledge and eventually discover what I really wanted to do – plan weddings.
Six-months post wedding, my then husband and I moved back to Louisiana to pursue new opportunities. I started working with a local wedding planner and dove head first into all that event planning had to offer. After working under the direction of professional planners for several years, I knew that I wanted to, and could, offer a professional and fun experience to anyone in the throes of planning an important life event.
