The funny thing is we thought we wouldn't need a coordinator. Wow were we wrong.
Let me preface this by saying, my fiancée and I are die-hard spreadsheet people. Like we had everything planned out to the square inch on a dozen different spread...sheets. Our venue (All Saints Chapel in Raleigh, NC) requires a Day of Coordinator and thank goodness they do. This led us to meeting Carla at Perfect Peony Events. Her six month coordination package comes with impeccable communication, vendor visits, a DoC, and her own personal treasure trove of wedding paraphernalia. All of which we took advantage of by the end of the wedding weekend.
As the Day approached, Carla must have said "I'll handle it" more than a dozen times. I suspect she did even more work for us than I even realize. And let me tell you, in the two weeks leading up to a 120 person wedding weekend extravaganza, those are the most beautiful words you can possibly hear from a vendor.
On the Big Day, Carla was by our side from literally morning to well after 10pm. She held hands, wiped tears, encouraged, managed, and just generally made the day infinitely less stressful for us. She made executive decisions during the ceremony that saved us time and energy. She brought her own wedding décor that we had selected ahead of time and set up the bundles we had brought (family photos, bathroom baskets, etc). She was just somehow everywhere all at once and simultaneously always there when we needed her. In addition, she helped organized the load out of all of our personal items, so that we could run off to the after party with our family and friends.
We can't thank her enough for her services, time, effort, and most importantly pure talent and genuine camaraderie in what turned out to be, as cliché as it sounds, the best, busiest, and most beautiful day of our lives.
